From USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow comes a heartwarming childhood frenemies-to-lovers, second chance romance!
When we were eleven, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot-jump.He lied.(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.) I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took … lied.
(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.)
I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton.
But it wasn’t.
Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier–and the betting stakes higher–until finally, he left me in pieces. I swore I’d never talk to him again.
But twenty years after I took that flying leap, he’s back in my life, daring me to risk everything for him: my job, my self-worth, and my heart.
How many chances does true love deserve?
“Sizzling chemistry, off the charts sexual tension and all the feels I’ve come to expect with a Melanie Harlow romance!”- Ilsa Madden-Mills, Wall Street Journal bestselling author

It feels amazing to be back in Cloverleigh Farms! Melanie Harlow sure knows how to lure you in and make you fall in love with small towns and the wonderful people in it. Told in dual POVs that also alternates between then and now, Undeniable is the second standalone in the series, and she delivers Chloe Sawyer and Oliver Pemberton’s story in a charming second chance romance.
“We ran hot and cold, but we had history. We’d shared some unforgettable experiences, both painful and pleasurable. But beneath all the surface-level ups and downs was a bond that couldn’t be broken.”
Chloe and Oliver were friends for as long as they could remember. They grew up together, wreaking havoc and creating all kinds of memories, since their moms were best friends. I loved their history. They have the kind of friendship that’s almost unbreakable and can withstand the test of time. But just like any other relationship, things started to get a whole lot complicated the moment feelings were involved.
“I was prepared to give you everything seven years ago. And you broke my heart.”
I’m a sucker for a good second chance romance. There’s just something about having a shared past with someone or a love rekindled that always tugs at my heartstrings. But Undeniable was more like a third, fourth or fifth chance romance. Chloe and Oliver has a bond like no other—there’s no doubt about that—but he just did her wrong and took her for granted more times than I could count.
“She deserved so much better. A better proposal. A better love story. A better man.”
The more I found out about the things that Oliver has put Chloe through throughout the years, the more I just wanted to strangle him and then slap Chloe awake. The girl deserves so much better; he broke her poor heart so many times that she honestly should’ve put him through the wringer and made him grovel like there’s no tomorrow before taking him back.
“Our story is sort of zig-zagged, isn’t it?”
“Yeah, but it’s ours.”
From childhood frenemies to stubborn lovers, these two were definitely a hot mess express waiting to happen. While their banter was riveting and their chemistry was undeniable, the angst was also at an all time high. If you enjoy small towns and second (or maybe fifth) chance romances, then this is the book you’re looking for.
Undeniable is a small town second (fourth? fifth?) chance romance. The hero and herione, Oliver and Chloe, are childhood frenemies with undeniable chemistry who embark on a business venture together. The chapters are dual POV and alternate between the current time and various times in the past. It’s obvious from their many dalliances through the years that they just can’t stay away from each other. This book was sexy and sweet, and being a businesswoman myself, I enjoyed watching Oliver and Chloe as they made their plans for their joint distillery. I was also so glad to see Oliver mature and grow and that epilogue was perfection!
To say that Chloe and Oliver have a complicated relationship would be a grave understatement. Having known one another since birth, the two have been at each other’s sides, through all of life’s growing pains. They have also shared many of each other’s firsts of countless life milestones, lending to an unspoken bond only the two of them could ever fully understand.
Chloe and Oliver share a deep and fierce connection, unbreakable over the years, despite many hurts, betrayals, and romantic relationships with others through the years; yet they are still drawn to one another as if they were destined to be with one another forever.
With a love that they have tried to ignore but has spanned over the years, full of complicated emotions, and family dynamics intermingling between these two strong willed characters, this made for a story that will stand the test of time.
As Always, Happy Reading!
“5/5 Beaming Brains!” – Lit-Up My Mind
Book 2 of the Cloverfield Farms, I was not disappointed. I adored Chloe in book 1 and couldn’t wait until someone knocked her over and made her lose control. Oliver does just that. I loved this book so much I couldn’t put down–one sitting read! I was sad when I devoured every word.
Growing up Chloe and Oliver were always forced together since their mothers are best friends and they were born days apart. They always had this sort of struggle–close but not too close. They would spin or orbit around each other. They shared their first kiss, went to Prom, and Chloe lost her virginity to Oliver and numerous other significant moments. But they never dated–well not officially. After a weekend in Chicago together, Chloe refuses to even speak Oliver’s name. If she wants to open a whiskey distillery on her family’s farm, she has to work with and shadow Oliver at his Detroit distillery, Brown Eyed Girl.
Oliver needs Chloe. He has always needed her. His life is incomplete without her. He ran away from her because of how deeply he feels for her. Years running around the world didn’t simmer his feelings for her. He needs her to also help him save his company–a company they created together in that Chicago hotel that they should have started together years ago. If he plays his cards right, he can save his company and get his forever girl at the same time. Now if he can keep his family at a distance long enough to explain things to her before they push him. Will Chloe understand or help him? Or will she run from him like he did to her?
Melanie Harlow = Heartwarming, swoon-worthy reads! ALWAYS! Keeping in line with the cozy injected, loving family oriented feel, Melanie takes the frenemies-to-lovers trope to a new level. She takes two polar opposites and makes their connection magnetic, irrefutable, and intensely charged. Oliver’s and Chloe’s continuous love-hate relationship spurs the story on and kept me drawn in. Despite Oliver’s infuriating antics, and the hopes that Chloe would give as good as she got, I couldn’t help but cheer these two on. Their history and love for one another (although not always shown in the best of ways), tugged at this romantic’s heart strings. This standalone is the absolute perfect continuation of the Cloverleigh Farms series.
Melanie has a way of writing second chance romances like no one else! Oliver and Chloe grew up together, their mothers are best friends. Over the years there have been miscommunication and denying feelings. Oh and let’s talk about the trust, can they trust again? This is a must read!
Loved it! Banter, dares, chemistry – this book was a great, fun read! It is sweet, sexy and had me swooning. Chloe and Oliver have history. They have been friends to frenemies to lovers. If you love small town, second chance this book is a must read. I didn’t read the first book in this series, but loving this one so much – I’m on it!!! Can’t wait for the next one!
Such a great title for this story!! A sexy, sassy second chance, frienemies to lovers romance. What about that amazing cover!!
I thought I loved Irresistible but Undeniable was a whole different level of love!!
Oliver and Chloe have been friends and adversary since birth their families go way back. Always trying to one up each other in whatever they set out to do. But as they got older and the chemistry changed, they found themselves in an entirely different competition so to speak…one of the heart.
I love that the author gave us the “Then and “Now” of their story giving an insight into how they have gotten to where they are now. Love the banger, the bets, and the way the she ends the chapters….asking a question!
Melanie Harlow is one of my favorite authors and she hit it out of the park with Undeniable. I can’t wait for the next story in this series!!
Chloe and Oliver have the best enemies to lovers story. I love how they are always goading each other into something as kids, then as adults.
This story was beautifully written. It was emotional, funny, sexy and witty.
I love Melanie Harlow’s words. Just all of them. Undeniable is no exception, and I love the Cloverleigh Farms series.
Second chance? Check.
Small town romance? Check.
Friend(emies) to lovers? Check.
Smokin hot chemistry? Check. Check.
Chloe and Oliver have all of the above and more, just goes to show that the heart wants what it wants no matter the past or current circumstances. It did take me a bit to get used to and come to like Oliver but of course I did and fell in love, and you will too.
Absolutely make sure to add this series to your undoubtedly long TBR!
A rollercoaster ride of emotions! It was an enjoyable fun read; a story about two people who, even though at times can’t stand each other, find love along the way. But a road with a lot of bumps…
Oliver and Chloe have known each other since they were little and always had a love/hate relationship. One minute they like each other but next they can’t stand to be in the same room. Nothing really changes growing up but there seems to be this undeniable bond. But Oliver can’t seem to stick with any promise he makes and he hurts Chloe in ways that seem unforgivable at times. When he comes back into her life with a business proposal, she can’t seem to say no but it’ll take a while before the trust between them is restored although Oliver tries his hardest to make her see that he has changed. When another secret comes out, Oliver will have to do whatever it takes to not lose what he has with Chloe forever… Will he succeed?
4.5 Undeniably Enchanting Stars!
I loved every minute of this heartfelt, and swoony, second-chance romance! Harlow captured me right from the start with her enchanting story, and intriguingly rich characters. Oliver and Chloe have been thrown together from birth. Their mothers were best friends and they were born days apart. They have been friends, competitive foes, and so much more, ever since. When Chloe is forced to work with Oliver to help Cloverleigh Farms expand, she is not happy, and I needed to know why. Oliver knows her so well, and the exact buttons to push, that she is unable to turn down his proposition. As they embark on an adventure, meant to convince her to partner with him, they reconnect after years of misunderstandings. I loved how Ms. Harlow told this story in flashback sequence, slowly unveiling the depth of their bond, thru crazy exploits, friendship, heartbreaking missteps, and growing attraction. They are both so alike in that they are impulsive, often leaping without forethought. They challenge each other to be better, smarter, and more creative, and their chemistry is off the charts. This story had such a natural flow as it uncovered the depth of both Oliver and Chloe and also their secrets. They felt so real, that I really felt like I understood them, and their decisions, and I couldn’t help falling in love with them both. This is another fun, emotional, and sexy romance in this series and I can’t wait for more from Cloverleigh Farms!
Oliver and Chloe are too stubborn for their own good! These two have history and sharing their journey was endearing, flirty and sometimes laugh out loud fun!
Years have come and gone, their lives intersecting from time to time when they least expect it. But it never seems like the right time for them. Just when you think Oliver and Chloe have found their way to one another, life has other ideas. Their connection is palpable, but sometimes you don’t know that you’ve got until it’s gone.
Oliver hasn’t been truthful with Chloe about his intentions and that put a bad taste in my mouth. His heart was in the right place, but his head had a little catching up to do. Men, right?!?!
I loved that Chloe didn’t fall at Oliver’s feet, despite his charming, sexy ways. She has a plan and doesn’t want to get derailed by a man. But sometimes our heart has other plans and you can’t deny what it’s been telling you all along. Second chances can be sweet
You jump, I jump.
Oh, Oliver and Chloe. Damn, I’m still reeling from your amazing journey to your happily ever after. Seriously though, there were many times I wondered if you’d make it. So many bad decisions. So many unspoken words. So many unexpressed feelings.
So much awesomeness.
I adored Chloe from the start. I loved her no nonsense take on the world. Her realness. And her vulnerability—especially when it came to matters of her heart and her feelings for Oliver. I loved her hope—her willingness to believe in love and allowing herself to forgive and move on. But there was only so much she could take—and man, did Oliver reach the line on that, and crossed it too many times.
But there was also something about Oliver, something Undeniable that made him forgivable and also showed his vulnerability. He loved Chloe, always had, but just really didn’t know how to really move past his own mistakes, his own fears and really show her.
I loved Chloe and Oliver’s connection. Loved their competitive history. Loved their banter. Loved their sexy times. Loved how they didn’t let the other get away. That they finally fought for what they wanted, what they deserved. I just loved it all.
Undeniable is the second book in the Cloverleigh Farms Series. Can be read as a standalone. I enjoyed this story, it was well written, fun, and it had family and friends. Chloe and Oliver have a love/hate relationship, or is that all sexual tension? Hmm now that I think about it, I’ll just leave that to you to decide after reading their story. They certainly knew how to push eachother’s buttons, but also stand beside eachother if need be. Secondary characters were good too, I love stories that have closeknit families. Looking forward to the next book in he Cloverleigh Series.
She did it again! Undeniable is the second book of the Cloverleigh Farms series. While it can be read as a standalone, I love having the background of the other characters who you’ve met through the other books Melanie has written.
I enjoyed Chloe and Oliver’s story. It was fun reading about their love/hate relationship through current and flashback chapters. I loved the banter between the two, and the additional aspects of the story around Brown Eyed Girl – every part of her storytelling is so vivid and it all feels so true. I felt invested with their story and journey. It was overall an enjoyable read.
Melanie Harlow once again delivers an amazing love story. Chloe and Oliver are delicious together. Chloe is shoot from the hip, funny, intelligent women and Oliver, well, you’ll just have to find out for yourself. If you like second chance romances, you’ll love “Undeniable”. Chloe and Oliver’s love is truly undeniable.
From jumping off a roof to letting go of the past hurt, Oliver and Chloe has been intertwined since they were little. With their mother’s being best friends they had no choice to grow up together. But now they are grown up, adults that need to work together for a common goal? Can these frenemies find love in the end? Is it a chance they are willing to take? These characters were awesome. The back and forth, and give and take made them so human. A perfect love affair and a great storyline. Once again Melanie Harlow does not disappoint.
I’m so in love with this story!
I’ve read a lot of Melanie Harlow (but not all of her books…yet) and I think this is my favorite one so far. I fell in love with Oliver and Chloe from page one!
Oliver has a tendency to make himself hard to love at times. He’s such a good guy, but he often lets pride, childishness, and sometimes sheer stupidity overrun his good sense. But he has this irresistible charm that you can’t steer clear of. He’s intelligent, successful, and downright mischievous most of the time, but he’s so much fun! You’re easily going to love him by the end of their story.
Chloe is lovable but she does make herself hard to like at times too. She’s feisty and opinionated, and she doesn’t take any @#$% from anybody. But she has a soft spot where Oliver is concerned, and he’s probably the only one she lets push her buttons the way he does. She’s an adventurous dreamer with a mischievous streak that rivals Oliver’s.
These two together are explosive! One minute they bicker and argue, the next minute the passion between them is burning up your Kindle. There’s so much push and pull in this story. Their chemistry is off the charts, and their witty banter and childhood stories will have you laughing out loud. You can feel the history between these two as you read. And trust me when I say that by the end of this book, you will be a romantic, swoony mess.
Five amazing stars for this book and a million for Oliver and Chloe. This is definitely my new favorite MH couple!
Chloe and Oliver have known each other forever. Knowing each other for so long creates a connection, a relationship that cannot compare to anything else. When you’re that close, you can be the best of friends or turn on each other when the other disappoints in the relationship. Chloe and Oliver are like two moving ships in rough seas that sometimes crash together, but other times are separated by turmoil and distress.
This story is told with past memories mixed with their present lives. Beautifully told and will bring tears to your eyes. I really loved how “undeniable” these characters were!
