From USA Today bestselling author Melanie Harlow comes a heartwarming childhood frenemies-to-lovers, second chance romance!
When we were eleven, Oliver Ford Pemberton dared me to jump off a barn roof. He said you couldn’t break a leg from a 12-foot-jump.He lied.(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.) I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took … lied.
(You can also break a collarbone, which served him right as far as I was concerned.)
I wish I could say it was the last dare I ever took from him, the last bet I ever made with him, the last time I ever trusted Oliver Ford Pemberton.
But it wasn’t.
Because he had the nerve to grow up gorgeous, charming, and sexy. And as we got older, the dares only got dirtier–and the betting stakes higher–until finally, he left me in pieces. I swore I’d never talk to him again.
But twenty years after I took that flying leap, he’s back in my life, daring me to risk everything for him: my job, my self-worth, and my heart.
How many chances does true love deserve?

Undeniable is the second book in the Cloverleigh Farm series by Melanie Harlow. But don’t worry you don’t need to read the first one in order to read the second one because these books are all standalone, although I highly recommend reading Irresistible.
It’s a friends to lovers romance that I found to be so sweet! Chloe and Oliver have known each other since they were born and there families are close friends. Chloe’s family owning Cloverleigh farm and Oliver’s family owning a soap company that has been run by generations.
Since there’s history between the two characters the chapters alternate between then and now and Chloe and Oliver is POV which I totally loved! You get to see how they interact with each other as young teens and then adults, to see how there relationship grows. But, Chloe has a hard time trusting Oliver, she feels like he’s duped her in the past and is she’s trying hard to guard her heart because she’s done with his games.
I’m absolutely loving this series and if you love a good small town romance these books are definitely a must. Melanie books just make me so happy!
Another great book in the Cloverleigh Farms Series. In this book Chloe and Oliver have a lot of history as they have grown up together. Their moms were best friends which kept the two inseparable for their shenanigans up through high school. Always competitive, one would bet the other just to try to get “the win”. It’s at prom and a dared kiss that Chloe and Oliver look at their friendship differently. From college on is a series of painful misunderstandings, miscommunications, immature reactions and behaviors that change the course of their friendship and relationship but no matter how long the time in between these two have such a deep connection. When Oliver proposes a partnership again with Chloe she is immediately distrustful but Oliver soon wins her over. But Oliver is keeping a big secret. The banter is great, the chemistry is off the charts and the writing is excellent. You will be cheering for Chloe and Oliver and the ending couldn’t be more perfect!!!!
Undeniable was a great mix of frenemies-to-lovers romance mixed with some second-chance. Chloe and Oliver have known each other their whole lives due to their mothers being best friends. So course that means they were destined, right? Well it was not all smooth-sailing. It was fun and interesting to see these two together. Their chemistry was undeniable but whenever these two were in a room together, you didn’t know which way it would go. I loved their banter-it was flirty, fun, and at times sweet but also antagonistic. But one thing was always constant: they had a connection that couldn’t be denied. It was intriguing to see their story play out. Once again, Melanie wrote a story that had it all. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.
I am a huge enemies to lovers fan and this book had the added bonus of being a second chance romance. There is something about a frenemies relationship that finally turns into love that gets me every time. This story had all of my favorite components- spitfire heroine, hostile banter full of sexual innuendos, arrogant hero and undeniable sexual chemistry. The story made me want to jump in my car and explore northern Michigan for myself and hunt down my own sexy Oliver.
The flashbacks between then and now perfectly formed the back story to their history at the right moments – putting me in Chloe and Oliver’s mindsets for their past mistakes that led to the current heartache and hostility. The story told a beautiful second chance at love from the boy who you gave your first everything – including your first heartbreak. 6 Stars for me!!!
4 Stars
Undeniable, is the second title in the Cloverleigh Farms series, and whilst I enjoyed this title that is riddled with drama and angst, I didn’t connect with the story the same way in which I did with Irresistible.
Chloe and Oliver grew up in each others lives, their mothers are best friends. Their tumultuous relationship, both past and present is told in a dual point of view over the course of the story, and fits into several tropes including enemies to lovers, second chance romance, and friends to lovers.
I quite liked Chloe’s character, particularly the fact that she’s not afraid to speak her mind. She’s independent, strong willed, sassy, and her vulnerability is realistic and relatable.
Oliver is wealthy, charming, sexy, whilst flawed. He has difficulty with the truth, and can be a bit of an ass and immature. Whilst you can believe his heart was in the right place, some of his actions were kind of hard to swallow.
Despite their history, and issues with trust, the chemistry between this pair is palpable. Think striking a match, and the room going up in smoke. Their love scenes are both sexy and steamy and their banter is witty, more often than not argumentative, fun and flirty.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next addition to the Cloverleigh Farms series, and look forward to seeing which Sawyer sister will find their happy ever after next.
Chloe and Oliver have been friends since they were young children. They grew up daring each other, teasing, insulting, and at one point, connecting with each other until they weren’t. Connecting that is.
Now as adults, Chloe is ready to expand her father’s winery and start a small batch distillery, and her dad has invited Oliver to help her along. Seeing her old frienemy has stirred up feelings she thought were long gone. He’s still a charmer and devious, but has plans for both the business, and personal side of their relationship.
I always enjoy a good frienemy story, and this one did not disappoint. While I could have used a bit more groveling from Oliver and a bit higher standards for Chloe, but my evil heart was okay with how it worked out in the end.
I am so excited that we get to go back and visit Cloverleigh Farms in Melanie Harlow’s new book Undeniable. This is a classic second chance/best friend romance that is a fun story from start to finish.
Oliver Ford Pemberton is spoiled, his family has money and he is not one to shy away from the fact he is spoiled. Chloe has known Oliver all her life (their moms are best friends) and every chance she got Chloe tried to one-up Oliver – especially if there was a dare involved. As they got older their relationship began to change (a kiss at prom started it off) to the point where real feelings started to emerge along with what Chloe thought was real plans. That was until Oliver got cold feet and left her. Now years later Oliver is back with a proposal on a plan that Chloe helped conceptualize needing her help. Chloe doesn’t have anything to say or wants anything to do with Oliver. Oliver has just a week to convince her he is not the same spoiled rich boy from all those years ago.
I love Oliver – though his reasoning for doing what he did was shaky at best. The flashbacks as the story moves forward between Chloe and Oliver is great – it definitely brings their relationship to a new level as the reader. Told in dual POV’s we get to see both sides of the story which I love. There are some great moments throughout the story between the 2 main characters. We also get to see Sawyer sisters again which is great – I cant wait to see which sister is up next in this great series.
I was really excited to read Chloe’s book and it did not disappoint! Not only was this an adorable enemies to lovers story, but it included Chloe and Oliver’s entire life story from birth. I loved getting little glimpses into what made them love each other, then hate each other, then do it all over again! Oliver made some seriously poor choices while growing up, but Chloe has a soft spot for him and knows he means well. This is a funny, quick, summer read that will put anyone in a good mood!
This is Book 2 of the “Cloverleigh Farms” Series and this time is about Chloe and Oliver. The second chance romance is a sweet, romantic and adorable story.
The author goes back and forth and the story is told from both main characters’ point of view.
Chloe and Oliver know each other since they were kids and their relationship alternates between hate and passion. Their banter is funny and sexy and the love scenes are great.
The book is entertaining, well written and with wonderful characters. I highly recommend it!!!
Oliver and Chloe are too hot to handle and have a slow burn gone wild! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
What do two people that have known each other since birth, seem to hate each other, but have amazing chemistry and would be there for each other if they were needed… This one will knock your socks off! LOVE THEM!!!
5 HOT BANTER STARS!
This is a love story you will hold close to your heart. Love is about taking a risk. Giving someone a second or third chance even when they don’t deserve it. Also it’s about believing in yourself and knowing your limits. This book was written perfectly and I loved the second chance aspect. The characters are easy to relate to and at times I have to admit I wanted to shake them. This was an amazing book and definitely one I would suggest you read.
Oh wow! This was so good! I couldn’t stop reading! This story pulls at the heartstrings as only Melanie Harlow can do! I loved Oliver and Chloe so much! With each new book, I love this author more and more. Definitely check this out!
If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know I’m a Melanie Harlow fan. She’s been on more “best of” lists than I can count, is one of my all-time favorite “1 click wonder” authors, and I’ve 5-starred several books of hers recently, including Irresistible, Only Love, Only You, From This Moment, and If You Were Mine. Basically, if she writes it, 1-click it, read it, and mark it a 5-star read. Haven’t found an exception to that rule yet. So, no one should be surprised that I 5-starred this one.
Everything I always love about a Melanie Harlow read is here: witty banter all over the place, a plot that makes sense and is easy to follow, heroines you can relate to, healthy female friendships and family relationships, and sexual tension/sex scenes so hot it’ll melt your Kindle. The other thing that’s great here is that while this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. If you haven’t read Irresistible, you can read Undeniable without feeling like you’re missing out on some kind of inside joke. (Although if you haven’t read Irresistible I’m not sure what you’re waiting for. Was I not clear when I said it was awesome?)
Now, I will admit that I had a little trouble warming up the hero, Oliver. While he’s smart and sexy enough to stand proudly among all the other Harlow heroes I know and love, he wasn’t as nice a guy as some of the others are. He was a full-on jerk as a younger man, and he’s frankly pretty lucky that Chloe is the sweet, forgiving woman she is, because I would’ve nut-punched Oliver on several occasions. But, that said, I cut him some slack because he didn’t have any trouble admitting he’d been a tool when he was younger. I just wish he had a little better relationship with honesty. I feel confident that if this was a real couple, Chloe would whip him into shape in no time, though—so I can forgive him and not let it take away from my 5-star rating.
So, long-story-short, here we have yet another winner from Melanie Harlow. Can the woman do no wrong? If she can, I haven’t seen it yet.

The next installment in the Cloverleigh Farms series is here and Melanie Harlow does not disappoint! This steamy frienemies to lovers book has got it all; cocky hero, strong, independent heroine, witty banter, long standing history with oodles of angst and ALL the feels.
“We can’t keep doing this every time we see each other. It…messes with me. Every time I think I know what we are, what this is, how we feel, it blows up in my face.”
Chloe and Oliver’s mothers were best friends, so they were pushed together since the day they were born. With such a long history between them, the format of Undeniable is a little bit different. Most of the chapters are focused in the here and now and a few flash back chapters are sprinkled throughout, at just the right time, to give us insight on how things between these two became so fractured over time. But regardless of how broken down things between Oliver & Chloe got, there was always an undeniable chemistry between them that pulled them back to one another.
“The problem was our physical chemistry. No matter how much we fought it, it was always there, simmering just below the surface of everything we said, threatening to erupt at any moment. I wasn’t sure I could stop it, even if I wanted to. Even if I knew it would only make things more complicated.”
And complicated they were. I’m not going to lie, I honestly started to dislike Oliver more and more with each flash back chapter. My heart hurt for Chloe; it was difficult to see Oliver be so cavalier with her feelings. He was self-centered and immature and I honestly wouldn’t’ve blamed her for walking away, but in the end, he matured and managed to win Chloe (and me, for that matter) over.
“I’m never going to want to leave because I love you. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. There’s nothing I don’t want to share, and I can’t believe I wasted so much time … I don’t want to waste any more.”
And can I just say, I’m so happy that he did because Chloe & Oliver are so, so good together! He tempts and pushes her to take risks while she holds him accountable for his actions, but always seems to stand by his side, regardless of the fallout. You couldn’t ask for anything more from a partner in all things.
The second book in the Cloverleigh Farms series, Undeniable was a sometimes sweet, sometimes sour frenemies-to-lovers story between a couple with a long and complicated history. Chloe and Oliver’s love story was difficult and passionate and full of heart-tugging emotion. Harlow breathes new life in the love-hate relationship trope with Chloe and Oliver’s romance. These two knew each other as well as they knew themselves, and I couldn’t get enough of their witty, rapid-fire banter.
They say that love and hate are two sides of the same coin, and as much as these two didn’t want to love one another at times, they simply couldn’t help it. Chloe was a strong, feisty and hot-headed heroine, especially when it came to Oliver. A difficult hero to like for most of the book, Oliver was a spoiled, super-rich playboy on the surface, but underneath all of that was a man struggling to find his way, to make his own mark, to be worthy of the love of a woman like Chloe. It took a while, and there were some missteps, but that’s what made his redemption all the more rewarding.
Undeniable by Melanie Harlow as a great addition to this fantastic family-based, small town romance series. Chloe and Oliver’s romance wasn’t an easy story to tell, and they weren’t always an easy couple to root for. But Harlow’s writing is addictive, and she penned a second-chance romance that I simply could not put down. Undeniable by Melanie Harlow gets 4.5 smooches from me!

Second chance romance meets enemies to lovers in book two of the Cloverleigh Farms series by Melanie Harlow!!
From page one I was undeniably obsessed with Oliver and Chloe’s story. They have known one another since birth and while you would think that would make them the sweetest of friends that is not quite the case. Oliver is always darling Chloe to do one thing or another and no matter the dare Chloe finds it impossible to say no despite the consequences. As you follow Chloe and Oliver back and forth from past to present you are immersed in their friendship that always seems to turn into more.
After more than 20 years of back and forth Chloe is not going to let Oliver get to her this time. She has her mind set and her future is clearer than ever until one day Oliver comes crashing in and throwing a wrench in her plans. When Chloe decides to give him one more chance to help her with her new business venture, she thinks this might just be it, this might be the time Oliver and her have a shot. When a hidden truth comes out, Chloe must decide if the boy she knew then and the man she knows know is worth all the past heartache?
While this story was beautifully written I do have to say I didn’t love it as much as I did book one, but it was totally worth it to get Chloe and Oliver’s story. Cannot wait to see what Harlow has in store for the third sister in the Cloverleigh Farms series!!
Does the past have to be prologue?
A childhood friends reunite after a second chance romance with feels. Oliver’s immaturity, and reckless impulsiveness make for a rocky road between the two with bumps galore. Chloe knows Oliver can’t be trusted, or at least she should know based on their history. However denying her feelings is harder than ever. Is the past prologue for them, or can hapless Oliver get it right this time?
I feel energized and refreshed reading this book
I was skeptical of the hero at first, but he pulled through strong and I really enjoyed this book.
