Or is it too unconventional?
This book was previously released as The Island and has been rewritten. This book cannot be read as a standalone, it is the conclusion to UNexpected. No MM action – all the attention is on her.

This is the second book in The Island Duet, a MFM romance. Amie, Gabe, and Michael’s story continues where the first book left off. This is a slow paced journey, filled with misunderstanding, and drama. Their story feels real. The HEA is great. Isabella Starr did a good job with the narration. #AudiobookObsession
Michael still has unresolved issues and leaves , Gabe and Amy are devastated. Can they keep their relationship together? Will Michael resolves his feelings and return to them? The sex is steamy and HOT!
Isabella Starr narration is wonderful. I thoroughly enjoy enjoyed listening to this story. audiobookobsessionreviewer
The wrong words spoken by one, an already wounded damaged soul overhears and a budding relationship between three go’s awry in this angst filled, but sweet love story. Have no fear, because we do happily get an HEA.
Isabella Starr is the narrator.

This is the ending I needed for this duet. It wasn’t always pretty getting there but it is so worth the journey. I love these characters and felt so much for them. Amie grew and devolved into a strong amazing woman. And I got to fall back in love with certain people that may have ripped my heart out in the first book.
I love the dynamic that Amie, Gabe and Michael have. This is such a satisfying conclusion. The narration is still great!

The graphic evidence of their love
—>>> The moment when the one with a too-fragile heart finally gathers enough courage to confront his past is when he is ready to move on, but in order to do so, Michael must first go back and account for his actions. While Gabe and Amie try to move on, their lives are left in limbo in support and love of the one man who can complete them. So much emotion is poured into this story, their HEA is truly lovely and their perfect ending.
Unconventional
The Island Duet, Book 2
By: Alyne Hart
Narrated by: Isabella Starr
After listening to Unexpected, I was in need of knowing what was going to happen to Gabe, Michael and Amie! Insecurities, words spoken, and hurt feelings left us with Michael living the three, and now a new normal is trying to be found. Gabe and Amie become a couple and Michael seeks a life that fulfills him. But will any of them find their happiness without being together? This is a story that rips your heart out and slowly puts it back together. I was sad, I was frustrated and just wanted them to find their way back. Life is not always that easy though and their struggles were real. I love stories that give real circumstances with real feelings and Alyne Hart has hit her mark. It is a wonderful ending to this duet and I was completely satisfied!
Isabella Star continues her fabulous narration of this story. I am a big fan of hers and find her voice so easy to listen to. Each character is easy to distinguish and she adds feelings and emotions that tug at your soul. This is a beautiful performance.

Unconventional
I would recommend this story to listeners who like a lot of angst. It’s not a stand alone, you need to read Unexpected (the first in The Island Duet) before this one. Unexpected did a great job of showing the relationship evolve and incorporating the significance of the number three. I think that made the characters’ actions in the last scenes of Unexpected and most of Unconventional not seem logical.
I listened to the Audible version. Isabella Starr did a good job with the narration. The editing wasn’t always smooth, but it wouldn’t prevent me from recommending listening to it. It would have been nice to have two or three narrators to voice the different points of view and make the characters stand out from each other a little more.
