She has a future she can’t escape. He refuses to let her face it alone. Twenty-one. The age when adult life begins. In my case, it’s the age I learned my future sucked, big time, and there was nothing I could do about it. Every minute of every day I face the fact my life is only going to get worse. Why? Because I have early-onset Parkinson’s disease. I’m not going to let it get me down, but I … not going to let it get me down, but I also can’t let anyone close. That’s not fair to them, or to me. Trust me. So that means my heart and my soul are off-limits.
But then I traveled to Australia on a college scholarship program and life royally screwed me over. Again.
Raphael Jones is an arrogant Australian celebrity, the hottest guy on campus and a pain in my ass. Worst of all, he makes me ache for a life I’ll never be able to have. Especially when he takes me in his arms and does wicked things to my body.
How do I have a hope of surviving ten weeks in Australia when it’s not just the paparazzi who have me in their sights, but Raph as well? Because Raphael Jones is a man who always gets what he wants. And no matter what I say or do, he refuses to accept what I so painfully know: a life and future with me is no life at all.

Really enjoyed this heartwarming and emotionally thrilling journey filled with engaging charters, witty dialog, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. Was a great read from beginning to end
I could identify with this book, the main character, Maci, and her mum both have Parkinsons disease, just like the author’s Dad. And mine. I loved the storyline. Maci was fighting to NOT fall in love, not wanting to be a burden on a partner as her illness progresses through her life. But maybe that’s not entirely up to just Maci……Put simply I really enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down

Wow!! This book has me at an absolute lost for words. This is a powerful and heartfelt story that had me on an emotional roller coaster. The authors writing and storytelling prowess were spot on. She weaves a story that completely and utterly draws you in and holds you there, until she decides it’s time for you to let go. I laughed, I cried, I screamed, I got angry and I fell in love. Maci and Ralph’s story is a riveting tale about strength of fortitude, understanding and devotion and had me so emotional drained by its ending, but it’s a feeling I would gladly welcome time and again because their story is worth reading time and again.

I really want to give this book a higher rating, but I just can’t. There are 2 main reasons for that. Maci is probably one of the most annoying people I have ever been inside the head of. She is so fixated on her disease process that she very nearly never thinks about anything else. I understand that the book was written as a way of dealing with the author’s own personal experiences with Parkinson’s disease but you can’t go a page or 2 without being reminded. For someone so obsessed with her disease you would think that maci would remember her meds a bit more. Additionally as a nurse I have never heard of anyone having Parkinson’s so young. Not saying it can’t happen just highly unlikely.
The second reason is the ridiculous chapter lengths. I am a person who likes to stop at a chapter break which made this book take much longer to read than it should have because of the hour long chapters!! And I read fairly quickly!
Otherwise I liked the book. Raph, Brendan and Heather were great and I will probably give the next book a try.
A well written storyline that will have you feeling so many emotions from laughing one minute to crying the next. The characters are amazing and have sizzling hot chemistry. Maci has Parkinson’s disease but meditates, has good meds and does tai chi to control it. She won a scholarship to a college in Sydney, Australia. Her dad was killed by a drunk driver while he was jogging with their dog. Her mom suffers from Parkinson’s disease and has had it for many many years. Raphael is sexy, does not trust easily, and has been through a lot. His sister met her prince and the royal family has certain expectations for Raph.

Maci, an American, went to Australia to do her thesis on climate change and the koalas. She bumped into Raph at the airport when she arrived there. They both had an instant attraction with each other. Her constant concern was the horrible, destructive terminal disease she was diagnosed with a year previously. She showed Raph all of the downfalls of this disease, but he told her he loved her unconditionally. Could she return that love? Excellent story with impeccable characters. Great read!

I have enjoyed numerous books by Lexxie Couper so Unconditional Always was an automatic read for me. I had no idea what the book was about. A love story yes but I had no idea what an emotional read it would be for me. It you are looking for a true romance Unconditional Always is just that book.
Maci had flown to the other side of the world to Australia from her small home town Plenty, Ohio, to study koalas and climate change.
She doesn’t intended to fall8n love with anyone let alone someone connected to a royal family, but damn those Australian accents and that is exactly what happens.
She unwittingly kissed a guy in the men’s bathroom at the airport who she never thought she would see again until he appears to be staying at the same university student accommodation. If that’s not fate I don’t know what is.
Maci is an amazing character, she is young and she has been newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a year prior to coming to Australia. She initially didn’t plan on telling anyone as she didn’t want people to see her differently, but after a series of events and missed medication it all comes out.
Her relationship with Raphael is filled with instant chemistry, it radiates from the pages. They go well together but she doesn’t want to tie Raphael to her and her destructive disease.
She is forced to start her studies in the outback sooner than expected due to a media circus who cought wind of her and Ralph, she breaks his heart before leaving and regrets it everyday.
Can they find a way back together? Or has the damage of words done to much? You will have to read this one to find out, I really loved it and all the supporting characters like Brandon and Heather.
