In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa. Or the sixth, seventh, and eighth. But my shame over the public meltdown that resulted was nothing compared to being abandoned by my husband of fifteen years for a much younger woman—and did I mention she’s pregnant? For the sake of my children and my pride, I packed up and headed for my childhood home and the small town … childhood home and the small town where I grew up. Cloverleigh Farms would be the perfect place for a fresh start.
Falling for Henry DeSantis wasn’t part of the plan.
Sure, he’s easy on the eyes and hard in the bedroom (also the hallway, the bathtub, and on top of his desk), but he’s newly divorced too, and things between us are moving so fast I’m afraid neither one of us has had enough time to heal. Not to mention the fact that I’m a single mom now—my kids have to come first.
But Henry makes me feel beautiful and sexy and wanted and strong—I haven’t felt that way in years. We understand each other, and when I’m in his arms, I’m tempted to trust again. To love again. To let myself be loved without fear.
But deep down, I’m terrified.
Is this all too much, too soon? Or am I a fool to let a second chance at happily ever after pass me by?

A beautifully written book about taking a chance on love after divorce and connecting with the right person at the wrong time, Unbreakable packs an emotional punch. It features a mature heroine whose marriage has recently left her a single mother and a kind, compassionate hero whose own marriage unraveled over struggles with infertility. Harlow does a great job tugging on your heartstrings, and those looking for an angsty (and very sexy) read will definitely find it with this.
The story follows Sylvia and Henry, two recent divorcees who find themselves struggling with their newfound single statuses. Their marriages ended for different reasons, but when they begin speaking to each other, they find a lot of commonalities in their situations. Neither one has felt desirable in a long time, and they’re unable to picture being able to open themselves up to that kind of pain again. Though they feel a connection, both know they’re in the wrong headspace to start something real – though that doesn’t stop the attraction from simmering between them.
Harlow’s writing is rock solid, with angst you can feel and complex characters whose lives a real, raw, and messy. I loved that Henry and Sylvia are just two good people in bad situations, which made it feel authentic. What holds this back from being a 5-star read for me is the fact that while the story has plenty of depth, I don’t feel like I can say the same about the relationship. These two bond over mutual heartache and sex, coming together quickly and taking comfort in how right the connection feels. It’s so rushed and focused on the physical side of things that I struggled to believe that it was more than lust and a desire to feel connected when they’re both so vulnerable. That being said, I felt like I got to know them both as individuals and the speed is all part of the story. Either way, it’s a solid read that has great emotional impact. I received an ARC via Social Butterfly PR and am voluntarily leaving a review of this angsty romance.
Glad to see Sylvia is getting her story. Henry deserved one too. I was wondering if they would. But it’s not going to be easy these two together. As a newly single mom Sylvia has a long road ahead of her. Her marriage had issues and it brought out insecurities in her. While it seemed right away she and Henry had a connection, maybe an attraction even. They were unsure about persuing it. Both newly divorced. Thing is Sylvia wants to be happy and feel validated after her sad marriage and Henry makes her happy.
While I thought this would be more slow burn I get why they jumped into it. Even undefined relationship that makes them equally happy. But when real life ie. Sylvia’s kids who are adjusting to the whole new set up. While I agree she should do what makes her happy I think it was part impulsive. I liked their intial interactions actually it was nice to see them relate to the other. They both needed to know their own minds and be on the same page.
I did like Henry rugged smart ways. Wine stuff always fascinated me. Sylvia was ok but I was thinking she needed to settle in. This pretty much has the same set up as the other Cloverleigh books. The sneaking around relationship that starts out with the making out and more. A few realizations and a few bumps and a good nice ending. I’m so curious about April’s story which we got a hint of here.
I can never get enough of the Cloverleigh Farm series. Melanie hit it out of the park with this one. It was an emotional read. It was so much more than just a romance book. It’s also about healing and trusting. Henry and Sylvia both went through a divorce. Both of them have to start fresh. Sylvia was a single mom with two kids. It was hard for her to trust again after her failed marriage. But meeting Henry again, she couldn’t help it, but falling for him. I love it so much when she went looking for him. Lol Henry was such a geeky, loving, and sweet man. You wouldn’t think he have an alpha side. He’s EVERYTHING!! They had such an amazing chemistry! They fill up each other’s lives. They complete one another. I highly recommend this!!!u2063
OMG, this book is everything. Sylvia and Henry are two souls who are trying to deal with living changing events. Sylvia has so much on her plate, two children, an ex, and a home she need to sell are just some of the things she must deal with. Meanwhile, Henry has his own situation to work through. This book is a slow burn and angst. Of course the cloverleigh family is there to help both of these amazing characters figure out what they must do.
You won’t regret purchasing this book.
Warm up with a little friends to lovers romance!
Sylvia moved back to Cloverleigh with her kids after her seemingly perfect life in California ended. But life back home in the bosom of her family is real. Messy. Not perfect. But happy.
Or at least starting to be happier for her and her kids as they find their way in their new home.
She knows Henry from meeting him on visits to her family in the past few years. He’s also newly divorced. The two of can’t seem to resist.
They try to keep it strictly friendly but platonic is so not where their hearts lie.
Especially since Sylvia has more than herself to think about.
Sweet, steamy, the right mix of drama, all the family love and friendship make for a fantastic read. Another great trip to Cloverleigh Farms!!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
OM FREAKING G THIS BOOK is my new favorite of the series!!! Henry DeSantis is EVERYTHING This man slayed my heart with his sensitivity and unwavering need to provide and nurture a family. Melanie Harlow has crafted a story of healing broken hearts and finding true all-consuming love. Unbreakable melted my heart, brought me tears and finally, I hummed with happiness.
Sylvia has been broken down and lost when she returned to her family farm. Almost immediately, her connection with Henry was evident. You can’t deny their chemistry and how they are naturally drawn to each other. From their first meet, fireworks set off! I freaking loved it. Both Henry and and Sylvia are mending from heartbreak and the loss of their marriages. Together, there’s magic in their healing together. Their sensitivity to each other’s situations is beautifully written. Every emotion is exponentially portrayed, I felt everything.
Unbreakable is by far my new favorite of the series since Irresistible. I loved every singe page, Henry and Sylvia are beautiful together. They truly touched my heart!!
This book! All the feels!
Sylvia is oldest Sawyer sister. After moving back to Cloverleigh Farms to start over she isn’t looking for love in any way, shape or form. Hello Henry! Newly divorced himself, he and Sylvia form a friendship but the sparks are flying! Sylvia knows she needs to put her children first but Henry makes her feel beautiful again..doesn’t she deserve it??
I loved these two! The chemistry, the sexy times and the second chance they deserve.
Pretty sure Henry is my new favorite!!
What an amazing 5 star this was. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t seem to be able to put it down. So while some watched the super bowl, I read an AWSOME story.
Sylvia returns home with her 2 children after her divorce. Last thing she expected was to fall for Henry, the wine maker at her parents place.
I adored this insta love, full of chemistry love story. The characters were perfectly created for this story. It was highly entertaining and addicting. I basically read this page turner in one sitting. Bottomline this is a must read.
This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone. Told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
Melanie Harlow’s Cloverleigh Farms series is one of the best series in romance. I swear. I have loved each book, and Unbreakable is no exception. Henry and Sylvia are both divorced and learning who they are again, and they make each other feel whole and wanted and beautiful.
Melanie Harlow tells their story with such charm, love, beauty and compassion. You feel for each of them as they try to make themselves feel worthy of each other. They see the wonder in the other, but not in themselves.
I can’t wait for more amazing books by Melanie Harlow. You know your heart is always in good hands when you pick up one of her books.
Melanie Harlow never fails to write the swooniest characters! Sylvia, recently divorced and humiliated in front of her “friends”, she moves back to her family’s inn to start over with her kids. There, she meets Henry DeSantis who, being recently divorced and in need of a sign that life doesn’t suck, is immediately drawn to Sylvia. They make it very clear that they are only friends, until…lines get blurred. And we see just how combustible Sylvia and Henry are together. Their chemistry and attraction are off the charts, and Henry makes it very clear all he wants to do is love and be loved. Which is perfect for Sylvia, until it isn’t. Life gets in the way and they have to find a way to be friends who are desperately in love with each other. Will life give a little and let these two be happy?
You can never go wrong with a Melanie Harlow book and the Cloverleigh Farms series is no exception. Sylvia is the oldest of the Sawyer sisters that this series focuses on. After a divorce, she meets Henry DeSantis who works at the Sawyer’s winery.
To say that Sylvia and Henry’s chemistry is off the charts might be an understatement. There are moments that are heartbreaking as they navigate two divorces and kids with broken hearts. But the beautiful ending is worth it in the end.
This is a standalone but excellently connected to the rest of the series. (And if you’ve read the Frenched series and the Happy Crazy Love series, you’ll love seeing some old faces!)
4.5 Stars
‘This is what it’s supposed to feel like. This is what I’ve been missing. This is what I want.
Was there any possible way I could have it for keeps?’
It feels so good to be returning to Cloverleigh Farms once more! I’m going to be so sad when this series is actually over, which I fear is soon because every new book feels like a visit with family and I just enjoy it so much. This time we see the eldest Sawyer daughter finally return home to Cloverleigh with her two children after her marriage fell apart. It wasn’t until the last book that we really discovered that Sylvia’s life was not the picture-perfect life that it seemed and I was very much looking forward to learning more about her in this book. After her husband cheated on her and left her for a much younger woman, Sylvia’s heart is battered and she isn’t sure she’ll ever be able to trust another man. But the kind and handsome winemaker at her family’s winery, Henry DeSantis, has her realizing that there are still good men out there. Henry’s own heart is pretty battered after his recent divorce but there’s something about Sylvia Sawyer that’s got him feeling hopeful for the future for the first time in quite a while. Their connection is undeniable but is their timing all wrong or will these two broken hearts find a way to heal one another?
This is the 4th Cloverleigh Farms book and it really gave my favorite one (Irresistible) a run for its money! I’m torn over which one takes my top spot, but there’s no doubt that Sylvia and Henry secured a special place in my heart. Their story was full of such hope and healing and I really think that these two were perfectly suited for one another. They were so sweet together and I loved seeing them both come alive again as they explored their feelings for each other. Of course, their burgeoning relationship was much more complicated than just two people falling in love. They had their baggage from past relationships as well as taking into consideration the feelings of Sylvia’s children, who had already been through so much upheaval in their young lives. The angst will definitely pull at your heartstrings but I loved how everything played out. It all felt so authentic and necessary. Be prepared to swoon over Henry! He was a real delight in this story. He’s made appearances in past books but we never really got to know him until now and he does not disappoint! This book had everything I’ve come to love about this series and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet, down-to-earth, heartwarming love story about learning to love again!
Loved this, and every book in the Cloverleigh Farm series! Looking forward to April’s story!
I’m doing my happy dance!!! More of the Cloverleigh Farms series! Love this series! This is the oldest Sawyer sister, Sylvia’s story. After everything her ex put her through she deserved her HEA. And Henry is perfect for her! I swooned sooooo hard over him! This is very well written with awesome characters and a storyline line that grabbed me right from page 1. It has heat (fanning myself), humor, a little angst and the sweet and the swoony! Oh my!! Can’t wait for the next book!
I am really enjoying this Cloverleigh Farms series! And I was super excited to get to learn more about Sylvia. She has been on the outskirts of the other books since she doesn’t live near the Cloverleigh Farms, but I always wanted to know more about her.
I enjoyed this book a lot. Sylvia and Henry have each been through their own difficult times. And I enjoyed seeing them bond and become actual friends. This book was sweet and hot and real. Each of the main characters had their own hangups and issues to work through. I loved reading how they overcame everything to get their happiness.
As always, Melanie let’s us catch up with past characters and I can never get enough. Her side characters are also amazing. I loved Sylvia’s kids and enjoyed how big of a role they played.
If you have enjoyed the other books in this series, make sure to check this one out as well. I can’t wait to read about April!
The Cloverleigh series continues to be a joyfully wonderful series. Unbreakable features the older sister, Sylvia as she is faced with returning home to her beloved Cloverleigh Farms following her divorce. She is hopeful that she will be able to have a clean start with her kids now that she’s back home with family. She didn’t anticipate the instant chemistry and connection she would have with the winery’s head wine maker, Henry.
This is a fast paced fun read. And it is smoking hot too! Henry has a little alpha male tendencies just below the surface and those come shining through as his relationship with Sylvia evolves.
Set in the Cloverleigh series, Unbreakanle can totally be read as a stand-alone; but I’d encourage you to read the entire series. Each book features one of the Sawyer sisters.
Sylvia is going through a divorce a move back to her childhood hometown. Henry is also going through a divorce and works on her families business. They begin bonding by shared experiences from their failed marriages. The more they spent time together the more the chemistry built. Sylvia has her hands full with her two kids. Both acting out in their prospective ways and she doesn’t want to throw another relationship at them so soon. Though Sylvia cant deny the feeling that she is starting to have for Henry. She decides to give in but not make the relationship public. Though her sisters were able to figure it out and her daughter isn’t naive about it either. This story tells the story of mother just wanting to do whats best for her children and finding real love along the way. For Henry he realizes that families and love come just when you think you are destined to live your life alone. A beautiful romances that sparks hope and light.
This is the fourth book in the Cloverleigh Farms series. Sylvia is the oldest of the sisters she was married and has 2 children, that is until her ex cheated on her. She has moved home and is staying with her parents until she can get settled.
Loved the beginning, Sylvia has had enough and at a Breakfast with Santa she has a meltdown and calls her ex out for cheating on her in front of a lot of people. Not her finest moment. From that point I was in for the long haul it had captured my attention.
Henry is also divorced, he works for the family business in the vineyards. He is the kindest and my gosh so swoon worthy! He thinks he has nothing to offer anyone and especially Sylvia. There is also the fact that he works for Sylvia’s family.
I remember he and Sylvia had a moment at the end of Insatiable I was so looking forward to what that meant. And let me say the author did not disappoint. These two had so much chemistry, the banter and flirting was steamy!! Experiencing their journey to happiness was incredible!!
Loved that Sylvia was such a strong and determined heroine even though she thought she wasn’t. She had a lot of concern of how her children would handle another man in their life, their Dad was not showing them much love and support.
Throughout the story we got a few little tid bits of what might be in store for April’s story. Can’t wait for her story when we get it!!
Melanie Harlow is so talented and she puts her heart and soul into her storytelling. She gifts us with an epilogue that was an ahhhh moment!!
Melanie Harlow killed me with this book! SO. MANY. FEELS! I felt such a need for Sylvia’s story after getting glimpses of her in Insatiable. I loved that this book is messy, because love is messy. Love breaks us at times. Unbreakable is real and not all rainbows and butterflies. It is a story of heart ache, unbreakable bonds, healing, and so much love.
Henry and Sylvia had an instant bond due to similar circumstances. Both have been hurt and could use companionship. What they didn’t expect was the chemistry. They fight it, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
I love Sylvia! Being a mom, I can totally relate to her and the sacrifices she makes for her children even at the expense of her own happiness.
Henry, oh my word! This man is all the things! Like I don’t even want to talk about him, because I want you to experience the high that Henry DeSantis makes you feel. Sexy, sweet, patient, and did I say sexy?
Unbreakable is a must-read!
Just when I thought I had a favorite couple from Melanie Harlow, she writes another incredible story with even more incredible characters. This story was so beautiful, swoon worthy and so sexy that I had to read it in one sitting, Sylvia and Henry were everything!
