In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa. Or the sixth, seventh, and eighth. But my shame over the public meltdown that resulted was nothing compared to being abandoned by my husband of fifteen years for a much younger woman—and did I mention she’s pregnant? For the sake of my children and my pride, I packed up and headed for my childhood home and the small town … childhood home and the small town where I grew up. Cloverleigh Farms would be the perfect place for a fresh start.
Falling for Henry DeSantis wasn’t part of the plan.
Sure, he’s easy on the eyes and hard in the bedroom (also the hallway, the bathtub, and on top of his desk), but he’s newly divorced too, and things between us are moving so fast I’m afraid neither one of us has had enough time to heal. Not to mention the fact that I’m a single mom now—my kids have to come first.
But Henry makes me feel beautiful and sexy and wanted and strong—I haven’t felt that way in years. We understand each other, and when I’m in his arms, I’m tempted to trust again. To love again. To let myself be loved without fear.
But deep down, I’m terrified.
Is this all too much, too soon? Or am I a fool to let a second chance at happily ever after pass me by?

I was so looking forward to this book! I love this series!!! However as much as I wanted to absolutely love it I just thought it was good. I felt like the whole storyline was rushed and jumped around a lot. I wanted to see Henry interact with the kids way more to make it more believable. I felt that there was lead up to things and then were just sort of skipped over. I will probably reread it again at a later date to see if I still feel the same way. I love Melanie Harlow so maybe it was just the mood I’m in that I feel this way about it! I will update my review when I reread.
Unbreakable
A Cloverleigh Farms Standalone
By: Melanie Harlow
Narrated by: Vanessa Edwin, Tor Thom
Second chances do not come around that often. Melanie Harlow has given us the chance to see Sylvia and Henry get theirs! From the first chapter, with the microphone and mimosas, I knew I was going to love Sylvia. She has guts and that stuff that keeps you going. Now with her impending divorce, she is moving back home with her two kids only to meet Henry. He works on Cloverleigh Farms and when they see each other again after years, there is just that something you can’t ignore. Henry too is recently divorced and he knows it’s not a good idea to make the move. Her dad is his boss! And it’s so soon! But the heart wants what the heart wants. And Harlow delivers a story of love and warmth. This second chance at love has all the realism, from dealing with hurt children to social media to sneaking around! It has humor and angst and passion and steam and I could not stop listening. All the things I love in a story all wrapped up in one! I loved this 4th book in this amazing series!
Give Unbreakable a narration team like Vanessa Edwin and Tor Thom and you instantly know why I was captivated. Edwin is fast becoming one of my favorites. She is able to capture the essence of her characters and bring out all the emotions, and Sylvia was dealing with a lot of them! Add to that Thom’s smooth, patient , yet alpha baritone for Henry and I was a goner. He found that balance for Henry’s personality and I was in love. This is an amazing team with a performance you won’t want to miss.

I absolutely love the world of Cloverleigh that Melanie Harlow has created. I was super excited to jump back into the world of Cloverleigh with Sylvia and Henry. We were given a glimpse with the last book on who would get their book next and it was definitely delivered. I found the book unbelievably relatable. The topic of infertility and what it does to a marriage doesn’t seem to be a topic that is discussed very well. I believe Melanie handled the topic beautifully. It was heartfelt and raw. It was full of angst and wonderful story telling.
The developing friendship was written wonderfully with Henry being an alpha with a dirty mouth. If you love a sweet yet alpha main male character, you will adore Henry!
If you loved Melanie’s previous books in this series, you are going to love this book. With that said, you can still read this as a standalone if you haven’t read the previous books in the series.
The cover for this book is beyond gorgeous! Melanie has the best covers. Melanie is quickly becoming one of my go to authors.
absolutely positively LOVED this book!!!! This entire series has been amazing and I was so happy to see Sylvia get her HEA!!! She deserved the world and Henry was the perfect person to give that and so much more to her. This is one of those books that is going on my “read numerous times” list. This series just continues to get better with each book!
Sylvia and Henry are the ultimate swoon worthy couple! You can’t help falling in love with these two. Both are recently divorced and both are struggling to bring back some normalcy, love and spice back to their lives. I loved every aspect of this book! You can’t go wrong with this one! It is truly a story you can get lost in. I am voluntarily leaving my honest review after reading this arc, but I loved it so much I purchased my own copy!
FIVE STARS!!
I absolutely loved Henry! He is kind, compassionate, loving, sexy, and alpha all in one lovely package! The chemistry between him and Sylvia was felt throughout the story. I love how both were going through similar experiences and able to confide in each other. I would have liked to see more interaction with Henry and Sylvia’s children but other than that, it was an amazing story! Melanie is a one-click author for me!
The Cloverleigh Farms series just keeps getting better!!!
Unbreakable is the fourth book in this series and here we meet Sylvia (the oldest of the Sawyer sisters) and Henry DeSantis.
Previously in the series we knew that things in Sylvia’s life were far from perfect but in Unbreakable we find out just how wrong things have become. Henry works at the Cloverleigh Farms winery and he himself is coming off the back of a divorce he never saw coming.
Sylvia has come home with her kids following the breakdown of her marriage. Gods, she was funny at times, especially when she dropped her inhibitions – though my heart broke for her at how her life had turned out after putting her family before herself. She is understandably self conscious and her belief in herself has taken a nosedive BUT gods, Henry was so very good for her.
Henry’s life isn’t where he expected it to be and he’s thrown himself completely into his job but what happens when they Sawyer sister who’s already grabbed his attention comes home? Hell, Henry turned out to be so much more than I was expecting and man, he was hot when it came to Sylvia.
There was an immediate spark and attraction between them. They understood each other, the loss they felt and the desire to feel whole again. Though it took them a bit to sort themselves out and believe in what they could have together they were perfect and I was rooting for them from the start!!
I adore our trips back to Cloverleigh Farm and finding out what’s going on with the sisters and their other halves. There were a few breadcrumbs dropped about April’s past and I cannot wait to read about her and the man that is destined to be in her life.
A no-brainier 5* read that I most definitely recommend… This whole series from Melanie Harlow is one that you should without doubt check out!
Love Love Love Sylvia andLove Love Love Sylvia and Henry’s story. They have a beautiful romance. Love this series and this family so much. Henry’s story. They have a beautiful romance. Love this series and this family so much.
Best yet of the Cloverleigh Series
I imagine every author really works hard at that first chapter of a book. You’ve got those first few pages to hook your reader and have them panting for more.
Melanie Harlow wrote a fantastic opener to Unbreakable that had me laughing and giving Sylvia a mental fist bump for her awesomeness!
I felt for Sylvia when I read Insatiable?? She was a woman who’s husband was no longer invested in their marriage and had a piece already on the side. Poor Sylvia had been turning a blind eye for awhile until their eventual divorce.
I love it when a woman scorned finally says her piece and holds nothing back – even if fueled with the help of a few mimosas.
That beginning and tyrade was the first step of Sylvia claiming a new life for herself.
Sylvia then returns to her childhood home in Michigan with her two kids in tow. At Cloverleigh Farms, she’s reunited with her family whom we’ve gotten to know in the previous books of this series. Also at Cloverleigh is Henry DeSantis, the winemaker and fellow divorcee. Upon seeing each other, there is an instant attraction that quickly builds as the book goes on.
Unbreakable explores many topics I imagine any newly divorced mom may experience:
-the reluctance to love again
-the fear of getting your fragile heart broken again
-trusting in a “fast” attraction and relationship
-juggling the feelings and needs of your children with your own
I loved how strong Sylvia was portrayed as both a mother and woman trying to love again. I especially loved how she eventually went out and got what she wanted – and Henry’s response was perfect.
Henry was the perfect match to Sylvia. He was patient, loving and his alpha tendencies, though unexpected were HOT.
I did however feel like it was a bit of instalove between these two which took me a minute to get on board with, but if you love romances where characters once burned by love find it anew, then you’ll really enjoy this read. And don’t worry, it can easily read as a standalone.

You will absolutely love Sylvia & Henry’s Story! Just like all the sisters of Cloverleigh Farms Syliva has been dealt something she never could have imagined. A cheating husband, now an ex who’s girlfriend is pregnant, and two wonderful kids having a difficult time dealing with all of it. So she decides to go home. And it’s a really good decision. Her family rally arounds her giving her and the kids the support they need and she even bumps into her old friend, Henry DeSantis. Oh how the sparks fly. I love how Melanie wrote their slow burn. Henry also is healing from his own painful divorce. But it’s obvious these two have more than friendship going on. Their banter is great, then it escalates to fun flirting and bam it’s off. And I mean holy hotness Henry is hotter than hot. But there is so much more than the physical attraction. Sylvia is attracted to Henry’s intelligence and deep down goodness. Henry loves that Sylvia puts her kids and family first. This story also is about Sylvia feeling empowered as a woman, in what she is capable of doing in a job, accepting her body, owning her sexuality, it’s incredible to witness. Again a beautiful story with the sweetest HEA. Another win for Cloverleigh Farms. And easily your next 1 click!!!
Sylvia and Henry are hot, hot, hot! Unbreakable is a new favorite of mine (and part of a great series).
Sylvia and Henry are both coming out of a divorce and finding new love is farthest from their minds. Sylvia decides a fresh start is needed so moves her and her kids back to Cloverleigh Farms where an attraction between she and Henry quickly develop. Will they get their happily ever after or will they sacrifice their happiness for her children? This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
Once again Melanie Harlow brings us back to Cloverleigh Farms and Sylvia Sawyer finally coming home. Everybody knows that she has a perfect marriage and life yet somewhere along the way love has deserted her in a way she never expected. Not only do we see her broken, lonely but desperate for a second chance at living again. In a way she is perfect for Henry, they both balance in a way they never expected yet have a bond no one can explain. It was fun seeing them act like young teenagers in love and boy the kids were definitely a bonus making them see what is important. Henry is just a big bear of a man to love and his love for Sylvia is sweet. All in all it is like coming full circle with Sylvia and the rest of the Sawyer girls still one more left cannot wait to see what Melanie does with her. Great series to get and boy each sister finding their match in men is awesome.
“I received an eBook copy from the publisher for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own.”
I absolutely love Melanie Harlow. The Cloverleigh Series has been such a fun ride for me. Over the past couple of days, I actually went back re-read the first two and then read the 3rd for the first time before diving into this one.
You do not need to read the rest of the series to be able to read this one, but I do suggest it. They are all standalone novels, but they are interconnected. Each book focuses on a couple, but you get glimpses at the others throughout the book.
Unbreakable is everything. Sylvia was me after a very bad relationship ended. Her fears, her insecurities. I felt everything. And Henry is EVERYTHING I never saw coming. His own fears and insecurities. His filthy mouth that legit had me fanning myself wishing MY own husband talked like that. They are everything together. And Henry definitely made his mark on my book boyfriend list.
This book was packed full of emotion and you feel every single thing throughout Melanie’s writing. The details have you feeling as though you are right there with them. Their tears are your tears, their fears are your fears… you see it, feel it, experience it as though you are living right then and there.
I really hope we get April’s story soon. Just getting more of a look into her in this book alone has me needing to know her story.
Five beautiful stars for this beautifully written single mom, second chance at love romance that has you falling head over heals in love with Henry and Sylvia.
Oh man. Somehow this series just keeps getting better. I absolutely loved Sylvia and Henry was such an amazing man.
This book and this couple were everything you want in a romance. Melanie Harlow did such an amazing job expressing each characters thoughts, their fears, their happiness that the story sucked you in. She also gave you a tidbit on what’s to come for the last sister, April. I loved this happily ever after for Sylvia, Henry and the kids.
I absolutely adored this book. Second chance romances are quickly becoming my favorite and I just couldn’t put this one down! Henry and Sylvia bring all of the HEAT. I loved their friendship and the banter between them. Their chemistry kept me turning the pages and I could not put this down!
This is my first stand-alone by Melanie Harlow. I have read a few of the books that she co-authored with other writers. I really enjoyed her writing style and getting a glimpse of this series. Now, I want to go back and read all of her books!
Everyone needs to read this amazing book in order to experience this story!
~Brianne M.
You can never go wrong with a romance book written by Melanie Harlow and Unbreakable was just the most intense second chance at true love story that I just couldn’t get enough of.
So I’m late to the party and this is the 4th book in the Cloverleigh Farms series, but don’t you worry because the other three are now on my TBR list on Amazon.
Sylvia and Henry’s story was a beautiful awakening of not giving up on yourself and on love. This story was filled with some of the most amazing words of love that I needed to catch my breath in between chapters.
I love that there was a heavy focus on family, I love that you see the struggles that Sylvia goes through to make sure Henry understands she is a mother first and a single woman second. Melanie always finds the best way to mix comedy in her romance stories and there were plenty of times where I broke our laughing while reading Sylvia and Henry trying to see where their feelings for each other would lead.
The icing on the cake was having two of my previous favorite book characters play a role in helping Henry realize his feelings for Sylvia. I’ll give you one clue…they met in Paris!!! I loved that Melanie brought these characters in, its always fun to see where they are in life years after they met.
Unbreakable was such a great read and I can’t wait to read about the other Sawyer sisters!
~Glori I.
Unbreakable is the newest stand-alone story in the Cloverleigh Farms Series by Melanie Harlow. The Cloverleigh Farms Series picks right up where book 3 of the One and Only Series left off, and I was so excited to see each sister get her own story too!
Melanie’s writing is always so unique and I always appreciate the way she builds a backstory and history throughout her works. Her characters from previous novels always come back to visit throughout. All our other faves from Cloverleigh Farms all make an appearance in this book.
The main character, Sylvia Sawyer, is a divorcée who has moved back home with her family, with two children in tow, to start over. The story begins with a hilarious scene where she reclaims her voice…after a few mimosas! Sylvia soon meets Henry, an employee at the winery, who has recently gone through a painful divorce himself. Henry and Sylvia connect through their mutual pain and then try to forge something deeper despite their fears.
Melanie Harlow is always successful at writing true to life character’s with real flaws and fears and weaving a story that endears them to you. Sylvia and Henry’s story was beautiful and I loved watching these characters develop. As a reader, I always appreciate how Melanie wraps her tales in such a way that satisfies my curiosity about what happens next for the characters.
I loved this story and I would highly recommend it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series!
In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa……
Pretty much had me at that line. I knew Sylvia Sawyer was my kind of girl.
Sylvia Sawyer goes rogue at the Christmas lunch where she lets her cheating douche of a husband and his new much younger, pregnant wife know exactly what she thinks of them. Sylvia returns to home to Cloverfield Farms determined to make a fresh start with her children and allow her damaged heart to heal. Enter Henry DeSantis who is also divorced and not looking for a relationship anytime soon until he meets up with Sylvia. The attraction between these two is electric and scorching when they hit the sheets. The path of true love doesn’t run smoothly for these two and Sylvia finds herself having to choose between her own happiness and that of her children. Is it too soon to be in a relationship with Henry? (No!!!! is what you’ll be shouting as you read). Unbreakable is such a romantic read you can’t help but fall in love with the characters Melanie Harlow has created. It’s so swoon-worthy and toe tingling. Henry is delicious and Sylvia is adorable. I really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that I didn’t have a chilled glass of Reisling or mimosa while I was reading #SwoonworthyRomance
From the beginning of this series, I have been curious about Sylvia’s story. And it really didn’t disappoint! After being introduced to Sylvia and Henry, I knew they were perfect for each other. I loved how Sylvia worked to protect her children, and how she put their happiness above everything else. I also loved how Henry accepted and understood Sylvia’s reasoning.
I would have liked to see a little further into the future in the epilogue (especially seeing how things work out), but I guess it may be in the next book in the Cloverleigh Farms series!
Melanie is an automatic one-click author for me, and her Cloverleigh Farms series has quickly become one of my favorites! Sylvia & Henry…WHEW! These two both have insecurities about their divorces, but watching the two of them meet and the chemistry that they have is so endearing. I love books where the characters find someone who loves & appreciates them (especially after being betrayed) and these two got me in all the feels!
I seriously want to read this book all over again!
PS- I WANT APRIL’S BOOK! lol
