In hindsight, I should not have had that fifth mimosa at Breakfast with Santa. Or the sixth, seventh, and eighth. But my shame over the public meltdown that resulted was nothing compared to being abandoned by my husband of fifteen years for a much younger woman—and did I mention she’s pregnant? For the sake of my children and my pride, I packed up and headed for my childhood home and the small town … childhood home and the small town where I grew up. Cloverleigh Farms would be the perfect place for a fresh start.
Falling for Henry DeSantis wasn’t part of the plan.
Sure, he’s easy on the eyes and hard in the bedroom (also the hallway, the bathtub, and on top of his desk), but he’s newly divorced too, and things between us are moving so fast I’m afraid neither one of us has had enough time to heal. Not to mention the fact that I’m a single mom now—my kids have to come first.
But Henry makes me feel beautiful and sexy and wanted and strong—I haven’t felt that way in years. We understand each other, and when I’m in his arms, I’m tempted to trust again. To love again. To let myself be loved without fear.
But deep down, I’m terrified.
Is this all too much, too soon? Or am I a fool to let a second chance at happily ever after pass me by?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this entire series and each book is better than the last. I didn’t think I could love anyone more than Noah and Meg, but Sylvia and Henry have completely stolen my heart! Hot, sexy, and oh-so-emotional, Unbreakable is a standalone in the Cloverleigh series and I can’t recommend this book or this series enough. All the freaking stars.
After reading the blurb for this book I knew I just had to read it. I’m so thankful that I was given the opportunity to do just that because it was a great story. The chemistry between Sylvia & Henry almost set my kindle on fire it was so intense. It was beautifully written and sucked me in from the very beginning.
The fourth installment in the Cloverleigh Farms Series is here and it is absolutely ahhhhhmazing!! Melanie Harlow delivers a beautiful story about healing and moving on after heartache and I clung to each word like it was my lifeline.
The chemistry between Sylvia and Henry was undeniable and explosive once they gave in to it. Given their pasts, they definitely had some hurdles to overcome and they didn’t always have the best timing, but Henry’s not the type of man that’s easily deterred:
“You’re going to let me stick around. And you’re going to let me love you, and prove to you that we can build something so real and so strong, it’s unbreakable.”
I loved catching up with all the other characters in the series and couldn’t be happier for the way things worked out for Sylvia & Henry! And OH.MY.GOD. the April backstory tidbit we got has me beyond excited for the next & final installment in this absolutely fantastic series.
I can’t get enough of Melanie Harlow’s beautiful writing. Her stories are addictive and unputdownable, the kind usually end up inhaling in a day. Her storytelling is deeply emotional, engrossing and full of all the feels, and I can’t help but get swept right up into her sweet, steamy romances.
I’ve read all the books in the Cloverleigh Farms series, and I’ve been anxiously awaiting Sylvia’s story. Unbreakable did not disappoint. A heart-tugging, heat-filled friends-to-lovers, small town romance with a distinct second-chance feel, the love story between Sylvia Sawyer and Henry DeSantis stole my heart. Both were just beginning the painful start-over phase after their marriages ended. Sylvia had just returned to Cloverleigh Farms, having moved back with her two kids to avoid the humiliation and heartache her husband’s infidelity caused. Henry is the winemaker at Cloverleigh, and he finds his solace in vineyard or in the wine room, working late into the night to avoid going home to his lonely, empty house.
Their chemistry was instant, but both were self-aware, not to mention hurt and damaged, enough to recognize that neither was ready for more than friendship. And while they try to ignore the attraction they both were feeling, it wasn’t long before they give in to it. I don’t mind an insta-love scenario – I’m a believer in love at first sight, so it doesn’t bother me at all. But this wasn’t quite that, and the way that Harlow crafted Henry and Sylvia’s relationship, while fast-paced, was right for them. Sometimes you just know, and in this case, they just knew. But their relationship did form at the speed of light and, for a single mother of two children still angry and reeling from the demise of their family, unfortunately, her kids weren’t ready for her to fall in love. My heart absolutely ached for them. Difficult and painful choices had to be made, and I felt the longing and disappointment right along with them.
Unbreakable by Melanie Harlow was a great addition to this fantastic family-based, small town romance series. Gut-wrenching emotion coupled with palpable passion and a journey to love that was at times bittersweet and a bit angsty, Sylvia and Henry’s hard-earned happily-ever-after was all the more rewarding for the struggles they endured and the love they found on the other side of them. Unbreakable by Melanie Harlow gets 5 smooches from me!

I am so in love with this series by Ms. Harlow and this newest story in this series took my breath away!
This is Slyvia and Henry’s story.
Sylvia, the oldest Sawyer sister, has come home to start fresh, to find herself and to lean on her family to help her and her children find their new normal. Unfortunately, she has been so used to being someone else for so long, she doesn’t remember who she used to be if she wasn’t a wife and mother.
Henry DeSantis!! Woo wee, this fella is everything a hero should be! He too is going through his own issues but when he sees Slyvia, he finds what he truly wants in her. He is the epitome of patience and knowing what is perfect is worth waiting for.
These two broken souls, find each other quickly and completely. Even when things are moving fast and frantic, Slyvia and Henry can’t fight the chemistry between them. The heart wants what it wants and time and space won’t deny it.
It was lovely reading past characters and checking in with them. This doesn’t distract from the main story, but bring more to it. Each story can be read as a standalone, but reading this whole series is a must!
Age is just a number and even though both of the characters have life experiences, a new chance of love is what this story is about!
Beautiful, steamy second chance romance. The two main characters sucked me into their undeniable attraction right from the start. I loved the bond they shared…not to mention not being able to keep their eyes or thoughts off one another. Once they crossed the line, the reader, the other characters…every freaking one could see that there was something going on between the two. It was the best feeling and my heart just sang when they fell so quickly. Henry was the epitome of the perfect man…loyal, sweet, adoring, protective, strong…I could go on and on. Sylvia was an amazing mom, flirty partner, hard working, inquisitive, fun loving…I just wanted to hug her. Fun story to read and I devoured it in less than a day.
This is the 4th book in the Cloverleigh series. Can be read as a stand-alone. This story is about the oldest sister Sylvia and Henry who works for her family. It was a great friends to lovers story and a second chance for Sylvia. I love all of Melanie’s books and she sure didn’t disappoint in this one with the fire and chemistry between Sylvia and Henry. There were definitely times I was shaking my head saying no don’t do that!! But, loved it all the same!
This is book 4 in the Cloverleigh Farms series. It can be read as a standalone. Each book is about a different Sawyer sister. Sylvia ,April, Meg, Chloe, and Frannie
Cloverleigh Farms is a magical place. A winery, wedding venue, resort, sleigh rides and so much more.
After 15 years of marriage Sylvia and her 2 kids are moving back home to Cloverleigh Farms. Her husband cheated on her with a younger woman. I really wanted to punch her ex. She is the oldest Sawyer sister and doesn’t come home often.
Henry is also recently divorced. He is the winemaker at the farm. They have known each other for years, but have never really interacted.
I loved their story, a sweet low-angst second chance love story. My favorite of the series.
I definitely recommend this series!!! Different tropes, small town romances.
Style: Second chance
Story: 5/5
Enjoyment: 5/5
Sexual Level: steamy
Pacing: steady
Series: Book 4 but can read as a standalone
Cliffhanger: no
KU: Yes
Henry is now my new favorite man from Cloverleigh Farms, sorry Mac!! I knew from the moment I started Unbreakable it was going to be one of my favorites of this series. Irrespirable is still my favorite but this is a close second. Sylvia and Henry were perfect, and I loved them both so much from their first meeting. I really have so much love for this series!!!
Sylvia is recently divorced and moving back home to Cloverleigh Farms. Her ass of an ex left her for a younger woman and said woman is pregnant, leaving Sylvia and her children feeling pretty crappy. Once she arrives home, she feels the overwhelming since of family and after being gone for so long it is good to be home with her parents and sisters. Sylvia just wants to move on from her divorce, be a good mom for children, find a home for them and just start fresh. Sylvia doesn’t expect Henry, the man in charge of the vineyard at Cloverleigh Farms. Henry is nothing like her ex, but he is grieving the same way she is with him being recently divorced himself. After only a few encounters Sylvia is already having feelings for the winemaker and can’t help but wonder what if?
Henry is no stranger to being lonely. After being recently divorced with no children and no family close by he is used to spending his time alone. Yes, he has his friends and family that come with his job at Cloverleigh Farms but sometimes he can’t help but wonder if he will ever have his own family. When the oldest Sawyer sister Sylvia comes home Henry is instantly taken to her beauty but what he is more drawn to is the likeness that they share from being recently divorced and the feelings that come with that. From the first moment Henry spends time with Sylvia he knows he has it bad but with both not being exactly ready for a new relationship how can he keep her around without scaring her away at the same time?
Henry and Sylvia’s connection is instant, you can almost feel the energy in the air when they are both together. Melanie Harlow has a beautiful way with her words in letting you feel like you are there in the moment with the characters she creates. I was rooting for this couple from their very first encounter and while there was some heartache it was the perfect HEA that this couple deserved. I can’t wait to finish off this series with April’s book especially learning a few things about her story form Unbreakable.
This was such a beautiful story. Sylvia and Henry’s romance drew me in from the first to last page. No body deserved a second chance at love like both of these amazing characters.
Sylvia is the oldest Sawyer sister. She is recently separated after her husband cheated on her, left her and moved on with another woman, and she is now pregnant with his baby.
Sylvia’s children were wonderful. I loved how Melanie Harlow wrote these characters in a a real and relatable way. I felt their pain of feeling abandoned and rejected by their father and mix that with confusing teenage hormones and no wonder they were out of sorts.
Henry is also recently divorced. His marriage broke down due to infertility issues. He hasn’t felt wanted or desired in a long time because his ex-wife and he lost their connection due to the pain of trying and failing for a baby. Then along comes Sylvia and his attraction to her cannot be denied. I loved Henry’s quiet nature on the exterior but when he opened up to Sylvia his feelings just poured out of him. He had never felt a connection to another person like he did to Sylvia and then when the two give into their desire to the other their chemistry is off the charts! So much passion and heat. I couldn’t get enough.
I love this series and the setting of Cloverleigh Farms. I cannot wait to read the last Sawyer Sister, April’s story next.
I really didn’t think I’d like this book. It seemed like it would be so sad. But I’ve never read a book by Melanie Harlow that I disliked, so I jumped right in. And, of course, I’m so very glad I did.
Sylvia and Henry are each recently divorced. Their marriage is both disintegrated over time in ways they never would have expected. Henry is a long time employee of Cloverleigh Farms, much valued and respected in his role as winemaster of their vineyards. He and Sylvia have known each other for years, although not well because she has been living in California. They have a natural rapport between them and find comfort talking to someone else who is trying to find their new path in life.
The chemistry between them is something that Sylvia and Henry can’t ignore. He is an honest and honorable guy, and with his support and sincere admiration she begins to discovering herself again, and regaining the confidence that she has lost. She is understandably very cautious to pursue a relationship with him because of her children and the fallout from the divorce. Still, the heat between them lights up the pages of the book and can’t be ignored. They both desperately deserve the beautiful happy ending that awaits them at the end of the story… they build each other back up, truly unbreakable.
Some of the scenes between Sylvia and her daughter Whitney were simultaneously heartbreaking and uplifting. The struggles and insecurity of parenting were captured really well. Also in this book , information that was revealed about April, the fifth sister of the Sawyer family, really surprised me. I can’t wait to see what this author does with that story, too!
I love Melanie Harlow’s books so much, but this series is my favorite of hers so far. Her characters come to life so vividly that they can’t help but be memorable. And one of the things I love about her books is that you keep catching glimpses of them in other books, so you get to see how their happily ever after continues to unfold. And talk about steamy! Turn up the A/C and kiss the rest of your day goodbye before you pick up one of her books, because once you start, you won’t want to put it down! Thanks for so many hours of entertainment, Melanie. Please keep writing!!!
Can’t say enough good things about this book! Love everything about it! Highly recommend
I’ve been looking for something different in my romances lately, so when this popped up in my recommendations it got my attention. Beautiful young women and virile alpha males are appealing, but I was interested in this story about two characters who are a little older—a woman whose body may not be perfect and a man who has mellowed. These two characters have more life experience under their belts. They both have recently been through divorces and the woman has children. I felt this story might explore some themes that are less common in the romance genre.
What I liked most about this story is that the thoughts and dialogue were exceptional. Everything expressed in Sylvia’s point of view was exactly how any mother would feel in the same situation. Henry’s point of view was true to life as well. The conversations at the beginning when Sylvia and Henry were getting to know each other were so natural and comfortable, just the way you’d like it to go when you need a new friend. After they had gotten together and then broke up it was so heartbreaking. Nobody tried to be brave and hide their feelings. It was genuinely painful and on full display. And the most wonderful of all were the declarations by Henry. So amazing.
Something unusual was that Sylvia and Henry remained friends through virtually the entire book. Through the attraction, the hesitancy, even most of the breakup, they always stayed friends. It enhances the angst for sure, but it also expands their connection and grows stronger roots to their relationship, no matter how it ends up. I got the feeling they would always stay friends, even be best friends, and that ending up together would never be an impossibility. That isn’t very common in a romance, but it’s something that mature characters might do.
So, did I like this book? You bet I did. It was skillfully crafted with a heart-tugging, believable storyline and characters that you absolutely adore. That’s a pretty winning combination if you ask me.
AHHHHHH THIS WAS SO GOOD, I DIDN’T EXPECT IT.
i loved Sylvia and Henry individually and also their relationship. the two of them had been through hard times in their previous marriages and deserved a second chance at love. i loved how they were so mature and forthright when it came to discussing their feelings and the situation they were in, how considerate they were about each other’s feelings and recognizing that they were vulnerable and didn’t want to take advantage of it, the cute and passionate moments and also the angst when they broke up because she had to put her children first, ufff i shed some tears tbh.
now i can’t wait to read the last book because until now i only had a gut feeling about April being my favorite, but after the info that was dropped in this book about her history???? i’m in shock
Henry and Sylvia got their second chance at love but will the pain their previous relationship prevent them from committing to a new one? You have to read for yourself to see. It is a beautiful story and you won’t want to put it down.
This book is funny, and sweet and all the things a good romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
Sylvia is broken after her divorce form a 15 year marriage. WIth her two kids she returns home to start fresh. She is not looking for love, which is exactly when she will find it. In comes Henry and the sparks are flying, again. They have a recent divorce in common and it makes them both hesitant to start a new relationship. But their hearts want other things. I loved the sense of family in this story. The strong bonds between Sylvia and her kids really touched my heart. And who does not want a rugged man to rescue her. I fell for Henry the first time we meet him in the story. Sylvia and Henry find healing and friendship in each other before they find love. That makes for the best second chance romance ever.
Vanessa Edwin and Tor Thom bring this story to life. Vanessa brings out all of Sylvia’s emotions and struggles and makes her so relatable. She has a sweetness to her voice that enhanced Sylvia’s character. Tor Thom has that deep baritone voice that makes any rugged male character swoon worthy. And believe me, I was swooning over Henry! I was completely hooked with this narrating team.
An absolutely beautiful story with characters that are easy to love and relate to. Henry and Sylvia’s journey was an emotional roller-coaster ride but was worth every tear I shed. Henry is one of the hottest, most swoon-worthy, heroes I’ve ever encountered.
