AWESOME BOOK IN THE SERIES !!!! LOVE THIS AUTHOR
Wow! I could not stop reading. A.R. Shaw delivers a fast paced amazing tale of a world gone mad. If you want to read an original tale from a master storyteller grab the entire series!
Captivating!
I read it a year or so ago, don’t remember anything about it without looking at it again.
Loved the whole series!
I liked the different take on the apocalyptic survival story. Not the normal must cross the world to reunite, but a simple, let me protect what’s mine, and help a few others.
Great horror story, break down of bonds between people. Who can you trust, what can you trust when the chips are down. Surely the church and friendship groups should be there, but have I nurtured am I part of any such group?
Love the main character and her dog. (If anything ever happens to Blue I’ll probably cry my heart out. Sydney is so kickass.
An interesting woman’s point of view of civilizations downfall. This portrait is not only insightful but brings up perspectives I never thought of. The plot is fast paced and presents interesting characters that continue to develop. I left the first episode wanting to explore the next.
I was disappointed, too much description, no action, things never picked up. I have read pandemic books before which I could not put down.
Love it when you don’t see what is coming next
Another super read from a great story teller. Keeps you wanting to keep reading to the end but knowing you have to go to bed and wait till tomorrow.
Book 1 centers on a family of a Mother and her children who end up running for their lives into the woods. This is a great bedtime read. Only 4 characters so you find them easy to relate to. The writing is good and it is a good straight plot. It is a solid read and I enjoyed reading it before bed.
It was hard to put the book down I wanted to read it to the end and would have done it all at once if I could.
A tidal wave overtook the small town where Sloane lived with her two daughters. Her first husband had died and she had remarried–but the second husband was not a nice guy at all!! With her house filled with water Sloane had to decide what to do. Her neighbors were leaving–she decided to stay.
She was told by her departing neighbors to take what ever she could find in their homes–then suddenly she was alone in her neighborhood. Well there was one family, a man with a young daughter. He was absolutely out of his mind and Sloane worried about the little girl.
Meanwhile Sloane set about making it look like there were still people living in the other houses. It was hard work but she with the help of her daughters managed it. Then the stray dogs started coming. A blessing in disguise. With some love, patience and food they became the guardians of all the houses! Meanwhile when that man’s daughter showed up at Sloane’s door–she took her in. From then on she was a third daughter!!
Then some government men came and told Sloane that she had to move to the encampment set up for the refugees. Sloane knew they had to leave–and fast–But not fast enough. What the men did was horrendous. Sloane and the girls took to the woods with what they could carry.
They found an old house deep in the woods that has been abandoned years ago–It was supposedly haunted–but what choice did they have?
A cat brought them a handwritten message–there was someone else living on the grounds. It took a while to trust him–but he saved the 2 youngest girls lives–he was a doctor! Then he came to their door with one of the dogs–he had followed their scent.
I really want to know what happens next!!!!!!
I received the book from the author for my enjoyment and possible review.
I like this book because it was realistic it could happen. The characters are strong and willing to do what it takes for there survival. I recommend this book to anyone 18 years and older who like an adventure. CBW
I was prepared to buy the sequel until I read the reviews. This book was good. I would have given it four stars but didn’t because I will not buy book two. The characters faced difficult times but the overall tone of the book was optimistic. Apparently book two is not. That was very disappointing.
At first this was a tad slow, but then the pages started turning and I had to know how things would play out next. No cliffhanger, yet plenty of room for another story.
Want more about their future
This is like poor high school writing.
I loved everything about this book. You could see just how real to life it could be.
