Warning: This is not a story about fate or destiny. This is a story about pain, sorrow, and suffering. This is an impulsive whirlwind romance between two lovers that are not meant to be together. Theirs is not a world with sunshine and roses. Instead, their love blossoms in a secret world full of crime, violence, and death. Their story is about what can be born from nightmares. **Re-Read** I still don’t get why I love this series so much, but I’m not taking questions and I’ll unpack it later.
I don’t know what it is about these gritty, low down biker stories but I’m absolutely hooked. There’s vulgar language, questionable consent in places, hidden and sometimes downright obvious cheating everywhere and everyone is basically wretched, but I’M HERE FOR ALL OF IT.
At this point I have read several motorcycle club books and while they are all good in their own right this one is real, raw, bloody and tragically beautiful. I’ve never read an author who can pull you into such a disturbing story quite is easily as Madeline Sheehan can. Each story is different but similar in the way that no matter what these men will stop at nothing to get the woman they want. It can be ugly, hateful, hurtful and downright terrifying but so beautiful all the same.
Unbeautifully picks up right where Undeniable leaves off and then goes back in time until you are caught up to where this story starts. Sounds a bit confusing but it isn’t once you get back into this MC world. One of my favorite things about this story was that we got to see more of Deuce and Eva from book one. Since their story directly effects Danny and Ripper it was a nice added touch.
Danny is an 18-year-old girl who has had such a tragic past that you can’t help but feel for her even on the most basic level. Her whole life has been the MC and while she knows what she wants out of life sometimes those things don’t always work. Prom night for most girls is an opportunity to dance with your friends and enjoy the last of your high school days but for Danny it is just a reminder of all the things that have happened to her in the past. Over this dance and ready to leave she calls one of the brothers from her Dad’s MC and he comes and gets her. What Danny does not expect is to see Ripper in a new way. Now it could be the drinking, the smoke or just the high of being with him but after just one night together she knows that Ripper is much more than the scars that the world sees. He is the man who was there for her when she thought she was all alone. What happens when you fall for your Dad’s Sergeant at Arms who happens to be 14 years older than you?
Ripper is broken. Not in the way that some people are on the inside but on the outside. After Frankie broke his body and his mind Ripper is just going through life, making all the moves of moving on but he is just barely surviving drowning his sorrows in booze, smoke and women. After getting the call from Danny needing a ride, she isn’t ready to go home so he takes her to a spot in the woods near a stream. As Danny is finally starting to let loose Ripper is noticing her for the first time, really noticing her and he is not sure of those feelings. When one thing leads to another and Ripper wakes up the next morning with the events of last night heavy in his mind, he has no idea what to do or feel. One thing for sure is Danny might be the girl who can make him feel something again.
Now this story isn’t easy or fun but heartbreaking and 100% totally worth. This is what I would consider a real story of the events that one would go through to be with the person they love. It wasn’t this instalove beautiful ending that gives you all the warm and fuzzies. You must go down a rough road with these two before you finally get what you have been wanting to happen since page one. Now I am not judging those stories but sometimes there is something so beautiful about a couple having to go through real life challenges to be together. While their challenges were a lot more than what most would have to go through it was totally worth it. I love Ripper with every part of me because he was damaged. He was rough, brutal and REAL!! These stories aren’t for the faint of heart, but they are what makes me believe in the HEA we all want.
Ripper and Danny are different in so many ways. It is a forbidden love with lots of heartache and devastation. Their love consumes them both, but when obstacles are thrown their way, will their love survive?
I couldn’t put this book down. I like MC books, and this book didn’t disappoint. Lots of great characters make the story very interesting with lots going on!
Unbeautifully
Warning this book contains several aspects of the uglier side of life, its is not for everyone.
Madeline Sheehan has written another fantastic biker stories like nobody else and I can’t wait to read the rest of this magnificient series!
Just like Undeniable, Unbeautifully is a real Raw,gritty and hot intense story. Unbeautifully is the kind of Story that will undeniable keep you glued to the pages.
Unbeautifully is the story of Danny and Ripper.
Danny as an 18 years old girl, Danny feels lonely, and miserable.
Her mother left her an early age and her father Deuce isn’t exactly a role model kind of dad.
Ripper was gorgeous, sexy, volitile and violent. Is a man with a broken past.
He has so many scars on the ouside and it feels like his ruined on the ouside too.
Ripper wasn’t meant to die. He lived and he did so with the massive scars to prove it.
Ripper always had his fair share of woman, but he’s never been in love… until Danny.
Ripper is fourteen years older than Danny and member of her fathers motorcycle club and both of them know Deuce will never allow them to be together.
But these two guys go at if any way.
We also get story with scenes from Eva and Deuce POV’S.
I loved the fact that Eva and Deuce still had a big part in this story and that they eventually get happy and they both deserve so much.
Raw, emotional, gritty, and frustrating. This was an intense ride to go on with Ripper, Dani, Deuce, and Eva. Wow, just wow! I was taken on an emotional roller coaster ride, not knowing what to feel at times, taking my breath away, but loved every moment of it.
Wow, this book was intense and enthralling, I didn’t want to put it down because I needed to know the outcome. This was Ripper and Danny’s story, a story of falling for the one person you shouldn’t but your heart doesn’t care it wants what it wants. This book had me on edge, my heart racing and my finger flipping page after page while my mind was blown away with the craziness of it all! This book was filled with so much angst my heart was beating so fast throughout and I couldn’t help but want more, so much more….I guess that means it’s time for book 3!
I read this series for the first time a few years ago. While I love every single book, Unbeautifully is by far my favorite. I love Dani and Ripper! This book shows the good and the bad, the scarred and the damaged, the raw and gritty. If you love bikers and all rough, dark, alphaness that comes with them, you will love this series.
This was a great book. Well developed and seamless writing. I loved the most of the characters, both the primary and secondary, and the plot was awsome. The lead male, Ripper was totally alpha. As a standalone book it was great. The way this author writes drags me into this world and allows me time with these complex and slightly broken characters. I love spending time here.
Now…
As a follow up to the first story, Undeniable, it feels slightly different. This story reads almost soft and sweet in comparison (to a point). It was also an ensemble story with almost as much read time dedicated to Deuce/Eva, Cox/Kami, Jace/Dorothy/Hawk and the other MC members. I expected darker, more violent, and a story revolving more around one couple: Ripper and Danny.
This author does know how to pull emotions from her readers. I have rarely ever read a book where I feel a gambit of emotions; even for characters I dislike. She also knows how to tell a story! I get so into my emotions that I step away from the story for a little while, but that is what makes these worth reading. She pushes my comfort level with the way she writes and doesn’t follow traditional writing rules. What is a major plot for any other book is simple another thing to mention in this one.
Oh… and purely personal note: I HATE Kami and when she is involved it makes me want to stop reading. If she has a story I will skip it. That being said, I think it is amazing my strong feelings against this characters; means the author is doing her job!
Overall, great book, needs to be read after the first to truly enjoy it. Will read more of this series.
