After reading this series, I can say that Mrs. Lennon knows how to get and keep my attention. Unacquainted is the second book in the Unbreakable Bonds series. All three books can be read as standalones but the experience is much better and more complete if you read all of them in order.
This has two of my favorite tropes, second chance and a love triangle. I was yanked through the pages from the first few pages and didn’t want to let go. I liked Rose and Brody. Their situation & connection is what songs and movies are created to emulate. I loved Brody’s determination to get what he wanted. I would not want to be in Rose’s shoes when it came to being stuck between the two men in this book.
There’s no cheating in this book. The female lead in not officially “with” anymore. After Brody come back in her life, she tells him she’ll give him one night. But she had no idea what was coming next. All of it unexpected and required some changes starting with making a decision about what her further might hold.
I enjoy the intensity and realistic magic layered throughout her writing. I’m so glad she found her passion and gives us these amazing, emotional stories.
This waa a beautifully written book. The story was not a traditional story. The twists in the family dynamic can get confusing if you do not pay attention. Justine and Nick are perfect together. I actually cried during parts of this book. A must read.
Wow, what an emotional, flirty, swoon-worthy journey Rose and Brody take us on. They spend one night together and not expecting to see each other again, until fate aligns and ties them together for the rest of their lives. Rose has been with her boyfriend for a long time, but when things changes, she’s not sure how to feel and can’t ignore the soul defying connection she has with Brody. These two take us on a journey of them getting to know each other and figuring out what they want for their futures. This is one emotional rollercoaster of an adventure that will have you feeling things all over the place, yelling at them to figure them out, and rooting for them. Take a chance on Rose and Brody, you won’t be disappointed.
This book had really great characters and a really well story line, plus tons of feels!!
Rose is on a “break” in a long term relationship because of distance. When she happens to have a one night stand.
Brody is swoon-worthy beyond belief.
What happens when their one night stand becomes something more? Will Rose be able to pick who she is really suppose to be with?
I loved seeing the characters from Unfiltered in this book and it really solidifies what family really is.
So I can’t believe I’m about to write this especially over a Leigh Lennon book but this wasn’t my favorite..one of the reasons I kept reading was because I liked Brody and I wanted him happy. Both of these characters are young and immature at times. Rose especially. She literally drove me insane with her wishy washyness.. I get it, she had a history with Jones and didn’t want to give that up but she had a good guy who truly loved her and passion with and she was stringing him along. Giving him false hope along the way. Really kinda made me mad to be honest. I still wasn’t on board with Rose by the end but she grew up some I suppose. I k on I might get crap for this but with the drama of the birth, I know it’s it’s shock to hear but I felt this could have been handled a little better then it was. Oh and the coue that formed with this,I found a little creepy with the circumstances surrounding it. But that was just my opinion and I got completely why Brody wasn’t at all okay with it. It was a good book but didn’t blow me away. This is more of a 3.5 star rating.. I’m sorry
This kills me to only give this book three stars as when it started it had me hooked. The characters were well developed, the story line played out (a little chaotic for me at times) and there were plenty of feels. For some reason I had a difficult time becoming one with the characters like I normally do with this author.
I loved this story so much. It touched every emotion in my heart and soul. This is the second book in the series and I think it’s my favorite.
I don’t want to spoil anything but I’ll just say Brody is one of the sweetest most understanding male characters I’ve ever read. Rose has her own dilemmas to figure out and is trying so hard to do the right thing. Their chemistry as well as their love is undeniable.
The end will bring every emotion to the surface and more.
Hope you read this and enjoy it as much as I do!
Finding herself pregnant after a one night stand, Rose is surprised when Brody immediately steps up wanting to be a father to their baby and a partner to her – the only hitch is that she’s already got her life planned out with long-time-love Jones. Unacquainted is steamy, amusing, emotional and heartwarming. I love Rose’s quirky extended family.
The Unbreakable Series continues with Unacquainted, Rose and Brody’s story.
This was definitely an unconventional love story. Rose had a long history with another man (Jones) but they were on a “break” while he is in another country and they are figuring out where to go with their relationship. Rose and Brody have a one-night stand and then must deal with the consequences of that encounter.
I was rooting for Brody the entire way. He loved with everything he had, and stepped up, even with no guarantee of an HEA for himself. I was not a fan of Jones at all, and there were several times I wanted to smack some sense into Rose (sorry!). Brody’s patience and loyalty was rewarded in the end.
Leigh’s stories definitely pull you in and make you feel all the ups and downs of the book. One of my favorite parts of this book was getting to revisit with Justine and Nick from Unfiltered. Looking forward to more of them, hopefully, in book 3!
This is Rose and Broody’s second chance at love and this book certainly ticked all my boxes.
Leigh Lennon really knows how to draw us in, her words paint pictures in our mind and we feel part of her wonderful emotional romances.
Rose and Broody spent one night together, it was only meant to be one night but it seems fate has other plans and this couple find themselves together again. Broody is determined to prove to Rose that they are meant to be together and that they need to put the past behind them but that is not going to be easy. Fate works in mysterious ways and throughout I found myself wishing and hoping this couple got the HEA they both deserved.
This book has it all, it’s captivating, it’s emotional and it has wonderful characters. The journey for Rose and Broody was never going to be easy but I urge you all to join their emotional ride.
4.5 star Review Unacquainted (The Unbreakable #2) by Leigh Lennon
There is something about Leigh Lennon’s writing style that draws me in. Her writing is strong and her characters are ones who you cannot help but fall for.
This is Rose and Brody’s story and one that held me captive form the first chapter. Rose only ever planned on one night with Brody but fates often works in mysterious ways and it had something more planned for this couple.
Brody fell hard for Rose and when fate puts them together again he is determined to do everything in his power to show her that he is the one for her. That it’s time to move on from the past and together make a wonderful future.
The journey they travelled was at times emotional and I was cheering for them to get their happily ever after.
What an unexpected delight Rose and Brody’s book was. I love how this author intertwines characters in her books and while the main characters are the stars, we learn more and more about those we have come to care about in previous books. So much happens in this book in such a short amount of time, however no part of the story feels lacking or rushed in anyway. Some unexpected twists and turns took place, but this functionally dysfunctional family took it in stride and saw the blessing and happiness instead of dread and darkness. Looking forward to reading Unwanted next, but already know I need to have my tissues ready. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.
I loved Unfiltered (book #1), and Unacquainted was just a awesome! Rose and Brody’s one-night stand became so much more. Their romance was so realistic, so close to the heart, I really felt their emotions. Rose with her conflicted feelings, while Brody was certain he knew how he felt. This was such a heartfelt book! And having met some of the characters from the first book really helped. I highly recommend this series!
Rose and brody are just wow. These charaters are very well written.
Wow! This book has such strong main characters! A man who can set aside his own issues for the love of his woman. And a woman who may not need a man but finds the perfect one to be strong, and weak with. Continuing visits by characters met in book 1 (Unfiltered) just make this book more loveable.
Rose and Brody have a very hot one night stand at her brother Kai’s wedding. Rose and Jones have been separated for 18 months while he was gone with Doctors without Borders. Shortly after the wedding they decide to try and pick up their long term relationship again. A few weeks later Rose gets a surprise that will change her life forever.
Author Leigh Lennon has such an amazing way with words. She makes you laugh, fall in love and cry with the characters. I love that she has carried all the people we met in Unfiltered into Unacquainted. They have such an eclectic mix in this crazy family. I had to jump right into Unwanted as soon as I finished Unacquainted.
This entertaining and enjoyable romance is chock full of deep and powerful emotions. An interesting, well written storyline captures and holds your attention very well. The character are likable, well developed and have great chemistry. With lots of emotional intensity, hard questions and plenty of drama. One thing is for sure; Rose and Brody’s book will make you think and touch your heart.
If you LIKED unfiltered then you are most definitely going to fall in LOVE with Unacquainted!!! Rose and Brody’s story is one that will have you on such an emotional roller coaster that you don’t know if you should get off or stay on, but you will want to hang on tight! There were so many OMG moments with twists and turns that held me hostage I couldn’t put this book down!!! Can’t wait to read the next book.
