GabbyI’m a Monroe. My last name has defined me for as long as I can remember. How I loved. How I lived. Who I am. As proud as I am to be a Monroe and as much as I love my family, I need to break free from their sometimes-stifling protection. It’s time to find out who I am, apart from being the youngest of this strong, tight-knit family. BrandonI’m a broken man. But I didn’t get here completely on …
But I didn’t get here completely on my own.
I was pushed into this hell I live in. Now, I’m determined to make my greatest enemy and former friend, Michael Monroe, pay.
And I know exactly how to do it. I will break him. And I’ll go through her to do it, even if it kills me.
***This is technically the final book in the Monroe Family series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I strongly urge you to read Unbreakable and Unbroken (at least) to better connect with this story.

Gabby is the youngest Monroe and the rest of the family are always protective of her. She’s ready to head to college in a couple months and Gabby just wants to make her own decisions. She appreciates that everyone cares but she wants her independence.
Gabby and Brandon become friends and her brother Michael is not very happy. He actually tells Gabby to stay away from Brandon. Brandon and Michael were close friends up until 2 years ago. Something changed their friendship.
Throughout this book there are a lot of surprises along the way. But those “surprises” are what kept me wanting to read more! I have read this whole series and Nicole has not disappointed me on any of these books. Another “winner” Nicole!!!
Wow. Can’t believe this series is over. I kind of want to cry. I am so invested in this family and their crazy lives. Seriously gabbys book was the icing in the cake. I feel Like it’s only fitting since she was such a huge part of the beginning to be the huge part of the end. Watching her grow over the years (of the book) has been crazy. But like all the other books I have ever read from Nicole she nails it. She keeps it so real and that love is hard and messy and far from perfect. I love that she turns ugly into epically beautiful stories. (Foster care, abuse, addiction and all the darker sides of life make an appearance but she takes those and weaves the hurt into strong characters and then always wraps them in love. I wanna be a Monroe.
Unacceptable is the last book of the Monroe Family series by Nicole Dykes. And what better way to end it then with the baby of the family.
Gabby is the baby of the Monroe family and has a hard time getting them to treat her like the adult she is. When troublesome Brandon walks back into her life, she’s completely ready to start a new chapter.
Brandon only wants one thing, revenge. He’s got the perfect plan destroy Gabby Monroe, and finally get back at her family.
I loved Gabby’s character so smart, so strong, so forgiving. It really touched me how despite everything she’s determined to find the good in every situation.
I absolutely Loved this book!!
Gabby is a joy. Following the trauma of her parent’s death, she retreated into herself but her family, the amazing Monroe’s, brought her out of that. Even with all of this, she has kept her optimism and positivity that allows her light to shine. She is one person that hasn’t given up on Brandon. Brandon is a mess. His family has never been supportive, just abusive and put him in unbelievable situations that would do harm to the strongest of us. Following Anna’s death, all Brandon can see is revenge on Michael and Gabby is his weapon. As Gabby works to build a friendship with Brandon, she also shows her family that it’s time for her to spread her wings. Brandon is surprised by Gabby several times which just might be what he needs to change his path. I have loved every story about the Monroe’s. This is an amazing family that knows how to love as they weather all the ups and downs life throws them. It’s not an easy road but they always find their way back to family to help them through. Getting to experience Gabby grown up and finding her path was fabulous and a perfect way to end this series.
This is the last book in the Monroe series. This totally breaks my heart! I need more Monroes. It’s impossible to say goodbye.
I’ve had a hard time with this book because it’s about the baby of the Monroes. Our sweet sweet Gabby. I’m a little biased so please read it for yourself.
Gabby has the biggest heart and a pure soul. She meets the biggest A-hole and tries to fix him. She goes through a lot to save him from himself.
Brandon, hmmm What to say about him? I’m trying to be nice about it. He has had a very rough life. Things he has tried to deal with on his own. And not in a good way. He has a past intertwined with Michael Monroe. So to fully understand Brandon, you should first read UNBREAKABLE and UNBROKEN.
Even though I didn’t care for the male character in this book, Nicole knows how to suck you in, tear up your heart, and glue it back together! Her words are Magical. I will devour every word she will ever write!
LORD. No words. This book is legit. Incredible ending to an incredible series!
5 stars just isn’t enough for this amazing conclusion to a series I absolutely adored!! We’ve watched Gabby grow up throughout this series, and what an amazing woman she has turned into!! I am so sad that this is the last book in the series, but thankfully, we will continue to see all the Monroe’s in the future so that makes me happy!! I had my doubts about Brandon, but Nicole worked her magic and made me more than like him in the end. Brandon is very angry and out to hurt anyone he can, and he sets his sights on Gabby for the soul purpose of getting back at her brother Michael who used to be his best friend. of course EVERYONE has an opinion on Gabby being friends with Brandon, but she sees something in him, a goodness that nobody else does. Will that turn around and bite her in the ass, or is she going into this with her eyes wide open? This book was amazing, and you get to see all the Monroe’s….and honorary ones too!! If you haven’t read this series, you really need to!! As far as recommending this series…HELL yes!!!! I can not wait to see what amazing things Nicole has coming next, I do know it will be awesome!! Thank you Nicole for being you, and writing such fabulous characters that we don’t want to let go of!!
Gah I cannot believe this is the last book of the Monroes!! I am soo sad!! But let me tell you this book!! Seriously OMG!! Gabby may be the youngest but she is one of the wisest girls her age!! My feelings for Brandon before this book were definitely wrong….and this book changed them soo much!! He had such a hard life, and Gabby was seriously the most perfect person for him! GAH these two!!! Nicole is seriously an amazing author and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND READING THIS SERIES!!! I can’t wait to read more books by her!!
This book gave me one of my biggest book hangovers to date…I am still not quite ready to let them go.
In this final book of the Monroe Family Series we get to see Gabby’s journey. She is definitely all grown up and ready spread her wings and fly. However, that is hard when you are the baby of overprotective siblings and their friends.
Then there is Brandon. If you have kept up with the Monroes you know he is Michael Monroe’s former best friend and now sworn enemy. Brandon is out for revenge and is determined to get it no matter what.
Brandon is the only one who treats Gabby like an adult. Gabby is the only one who can see through Brandon’s tough exterior to the broken man inside. What starts as friendship soon becomes more. But can this unlikely pairing overcome protests from her family and his plans for revenge?
This book wraps up this series in the best way…if there was a 100 Star option I would give it!
I am 100% convinced that the Monroes truly are Magical!
I received this Book as and ARC
I have been waiting for this book since I read book one of this series (Unsocial). I was so invested in this family and series from the very beginning.
Gabby is a special person inside and out. She I always looking for the best in people and the world which of course makes everyone see her as naive or inexperienced but in reality she sits back and takes in every freaking detail.
Brandon is a broken lost boy who has been to hell and back more than once. I’ve hated him, I’ve loved him and I’ve wanted to punch him. Nicole couldn’t have wrote this character any better.
Looking from the outside Gabby and Brandon make no sense as a couple but they are beautifully imperfect
I highly highly recommend this book but definitely start from the beginning with Unsocial you won’t regret it
