I honestly didn’t think that I would like Ull. I was actually going through my mind all of the other Tornians that might be a better match for Trisha.
Trisha may be my favorite of all M.K.’s heroines. I finally realized that she was the only female strong enough, intelligent enough, to stand up to Ull. I ended up liking him but he will never be my favorite hero.
I had assumed that Callen and Rebecca would have the next book in this series. Now, I will be surprised. This series can go in a different direction than I thought It would. Korin was mentioned and I like him. Someone unnamed from Callen’s house is mentioned. I have some favorites from each house we’ve gotten a story about.
Regulians were mentioned in this book! Now that would be something, merging all of the series together.
M.K. Eidem writes a good story. I’ve enjoyed everything that she has written. It’s a shame that this author chooses to have time for family and friends instead of writing quicker.
Ull is the perfect ending, or is it just the beginning?, of the Tornian/Kaliszian series! I loved these books so much! I laughed, I cried, I rejoiced with all these characters. Michelle did a wonderful job in her plotting, worldbuilding, etc. I would recommend this series! (Lol… I, also, would be very happy to read more in these series universe(s) if she so chose to write more!)
Great reading!
Trisha is truly a good-hearted woman. I adore that she is able to put aside her own needs to help others in need. She’s able to make a major difference in the universe. Ull struggles with with less than positive thoughts at times, but I love that he is able to look closely at himself and choose to act in a more appropriate way than his thoughts suggested. He learns so much through this process, about himself and human women – Trisha, in particular. Their path isn’t easy, but love, once recognized, prevails!
Not as good as the others in the series, but definitely original
Ull Rigel has always believed himself to be a fit and worthy male, until recent events make him realize he might not be. Now he is constantly doubting himself. Now he is being sent to protect Earth by Emperor Wray and has to work directly with the President’s niece to set up a treaty. Trisha Burke doesn’t like Ull at first, but that changes as she gets to know him. Together these two work to make a treaty between Earth, Tornian, and the Kalizian empires.
I have been waiting for this book since 2015 and it did not disappoint. I was a little concerned with how this story would go. Ull has been angry and bitter since being passed over during the joining ceremony. His world has completely changed and he doesn’t know how to cope with the changes. I really enjoyed seeing Trisha put Ull in his place and make him open his eyes. Ull was moody, arrogant, bitter, but also very protective and sweet to Trisha. I quite liked him, which I didn’t think was going to happen.
Trisha was a very strong, independent woman. She has had a very stressful life but she hasn’t let that stop her. I really liked Trisha. She was a great heroine. I loved that she wasn’t afraid to stand up to Ull and tell him when he was being an asshole, which is frequently in the beginning. She is the perfect mate for Ull because she challenges him and makes him be a better person.
Overall, this book was worth the wait and I highly recommend this series. I do suggest that you start with book 1, Grim, because I think it’s the only way to truly understand the overarching story. Also I did notice a few grammatical errors but they didn’t distract me from the story.
Surpassed my expectations, worth waiting for!
