No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover returns with a new heart-wrenching love story. When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn’t think it’s love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they … they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.
Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.
They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.
Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

New favorite, this book kept me wanting more
This book was everything you could ever want in a book! I has love, humor, sex, heartbreak, loss, death, loneliness. When I was first recommended this book by my best friend, I had mixed feelings about it, because I know she loves romance books, and when I noticed that was the genre of this book I did not except to like it what so ever, because romance books have never been my thing. Then I read Ugly Love, and boy…. was I wrong about that! The way Colleen Hoover made you feel every aspect of what Tate and Miles and Rachel go through in this book. The young love between Miles and Rachel, the anxiety from their situation, and the heartbreak you feel for them. Then you see the fun and excitement that ignites between Tate and Miles after a very unusual way to meet for the first time. She also made me feel the conflict ion that poor Tate felt every time she feel deeper and deeper in love with Miles, even though she knew she was not suppose to. I love that this book, like most great books, had a phenomenal happy ending that was exactly what I needed to love this book even more!

“I LOVE YOU TO LIFE.” ~Miles
God Colleen Hoover never disappoints. This is my third time reading her book and once again I fell in love. Is it possible to love every single character in a book? (aside from Dylan) cause I did. Miles is such a sweetheart and Tate OMG she made me laugh so much when she first met him cause she was like a teenager when they have a crush on someone or not even a teenager I would say like almost everyone when they have a crush on someone. Fantasizing about him and whatnot. I could relate to her in this way cause when you have a crush you go crazy lol. I love how she doesn’t take any sh*t from people. Her overprotective brother and her interaction with Cap was so cute.
Side note:( is it possible to love the second lead/character relationship that much? Rachel and Miles? Cause man I freaking loved it.) everyone should have a Miles in their Lives. I also love how we get Miles POV 6 years earlier and almost at the end we get his present POV and as well as Rachel’s. This was perfect. The ending was the sweetest I loooooooove this book so do me a favor a read it. This was all I needed. Tate and Miles were made for each other.
I rarely ever re-read books. But this one, I’ve read it 6 times in the last four years. If I could pick one book to read again for the first time, this would be it.
This was the first book of Colleens that I read. Maybe it’s the nostalgia talking but it’s still one of my favorites. I cry every time! It’s a quick and easy read, I HIGHLY recommend.
I WOULD DIE FOR THIS BOOK
And Miles to go before I sleep…
The book has all the colors of love from Ugly to beautiful, with angst, sympathy, anger, frustration and empathy thrown in between.
The book starts with Miles sitting on the floor outside Tate’s apartment door, eyes closed
The book ends with Miles sitting on the floor outside Tate’s apartment door, eyes close.
In between these two pages is a journey of a man down the depression hole, that is deeper than cold waters of the Ohio River to the flight high above the dismal earth, among the clouds with no touch of reality to be seen for Miles. A tortured man fighting his demonic memories, happy to wallow in miserable bog where not even a shred of redemption is to be had. He can’t find peace anywhere cause his demons are lurking in his head
Tate becomes his space to breathe, his ray of bleak sunshine in his dark world. But his vow to himself proceeds to self flaggalate him, reminding him that he doesn’t deserve love, happiness or joy.
Even though I’m not a fan of YA/NA, Colleen’s writing keeps calling to me back & again, like a drug. I find solace in her unpretentious, straight from the heart writing. The beauty lies in her simplicity of the naked emotions she pens with utmost sincerity and honesty. She doesn’t over embellish, nor does she over simplify, but her characters and situations she creates for them, just manage to tug at your heartstrings and tear ducts.
I flew high in the five stars sky
This book had me in tears. I don’t tend to get too emotional over books, but this one seriously pulled at every string my heart has. The characters were so well-developed and Miles’s backstory was unpredictable and original. Miles is such a fantastic character. Tate also presents great qualities, she is such an inspirational character. The “falling for my best friend’s sibling” trope is usually very predictable, but this one was entertaining and enticing. I could not put this book down, it is definitely on my top three books list.
I’m new to Colleen Hoover. This is my 3rd listen of hers. I’m obsessed with the level of emotion Colleen is able to convey through her writing. It’s unlike any other author. Tate & Miles are unlikely bedmates. Miles agreed to it as long as Tate doesn’t ask about his past or their future. Can Tate stick to those rules without breaking?

::Miles and Tate::
“ ’ .”
Miles and Tate… Ugh Colleen definitely shows you the ugly side of love with their story. Her writing is so powerful. I felt every single word I read and read it all in one sitting. I loved Tate. And I absolutely loved Miles. His character was amazing. Broody, broken and protective. My heart broke so much for his battered soul.
“‘ .“
“ . . . ‘ .”
This was my first read by Colleen Hoover I wasn’t sure what to expect since I have never read anything by her yet, but i need more of her books ASAP!
I felt all of Miles’ pain. all of it.
This book y’all… Ugly love will make you angry, will rip your heart out and stomp on it, and put the pieces back together . I am utterly speechless.
Once again this author consumed me in her words. Still reeling over ‘It Ends With Us’ I went into this story already heartbroken fearing the worst. It’s not like Colleen could break me anymore right? Right!
Whilst this book had such a devastating event that happened six years ago this story is about closure and redemption as Miles moves on and learns to love again. You could see this character slowly wanting to move on but still anchored down from his past. This story is very much a slow burn. It was two stories bleeding into one. Miles POV was told from a point in his life six years ago and Tates was current day slowly falling in love with Miles even though they agreed they were only going to be ‘friends with benefits’. That never bodes well!
Totally gut wrenching but I did feel myself put back together by the end. For that I’m eternally grateful!!
Wow! Literally speechless here, and trying to find adequate words to convey what I just read.
First, things, first, Colleen knocked it out of the park with this one. I didn’t know what to expect going in, but I should’ve known this story would be exceptional.
Ugly Love, is just that. It’s a story depicting the very title. Life gets ugly. Love gets complicated. Those complications can lead to life’s greatest heartbreak. Such was the case with Miles. The story is broken down in Tate’s (the H’s POV) predominately, but concentrates somewhat on Miles’ POV when it peeks into his past. And it’s a doozy. Miles has more heartbreak than one person should at such a young, until he meets the one person to melt away the hardness of his heart, causing him to feel again.
Tate isn’t instantly enamored with Miles. In fact their first meeting is so uncanny it’s downright laughable. Though, not at first, her thinking him an intruder, and all. Over time she gets ballsy and more curious as she ebbs her new neighbor’s layers. Some layers, though. Only the one’s he allows. Their connection, becomes physical pretty quickly, the two unable to hide their attraction any longer. That makes their fiasco more risky, considering Miles is Tate’s older brother’s best friend. Miles sets some ground rules, one he intends to keep, and Tate hopes he’ll break. But soon she finds, ignoring her feelings is harder than she thought and she falls. Hard.
Will Tate’s kind, loving, heart be enough to heal Miles’ incredibly broken one? Will Miles reveal the truth of his past and allow Tate the opportunity to love him?
I really loved this story. Loved the vibrant characters Coho created. Everyone felt alive. Real. Full of emotion and passion. I felt Miles’ pain. I felt every goosebump Tate felt, at the prospect of love. I even laughed a little. The banter was great, especially with, Tate, and Cap. All-in-all, this was an incredible story, and why I rated it with 5 shining stars.
Started and finished this book tonight. Whew. The more books I read by Colleen, the more I adore the way she tells a story. This book was beautiful. It was sweet. It was sad. It was passionate. And it was lovely. Her way with words is incredible, and she paints such a vivid picture with her story. Bringing love back to life is pretty damn beautiful. #uglylove #colleenhoover #romance #katyapproved #katyapproved #cohorts #read #reading #bookstagram #booklover #bookstagrammer #bookreview #review
I was MAJORLY sucked in with just the first chapter and could not. stop. reading. It is now 4AM and I am kicking myself!!!!! Colleen Hoover you have done it again.
I hate to do it again. I didn’t love t his one either. It was mostly meh for me. I really only cared about Myles and Rachel and not Myles and Tate. I didn’t feel the connection. Tate was like instantly in love with Myles. She agreed to this no-strings-attached relationship when he was into him beforehand yet she agreed to the arrangement. Myles was upfront with her at every turn, but Tate was clearly not ok the entire time. It really annoyed me. I obviously didn’t care for Tate. I liked Myles wayy more and I enjoyed this story a lot. It was most definitely heartbreaking. So this one gets 3 stars for Myles alone.
Why is that anytime I pick up a CoHo book I think to myself, ‘Am I going to be able to hold in my tears, let a few trickle, or ugly cry to the point where I can’t get a word out?’
I was a little scared to start this one knowing that the title alone is setting you up to have your heart broken. Did that stop me? …No! I read and read and read all day long because Miles Archer is a broken man that I want to mend and piece back together.
Miles’ story is a tragic one. I was so happy he was able to face his demons and give life a chance Definitely one of my top 3 reads of Colleen’s!
Great book
