Number one rule of ride sharing as a female driver? Don’t fall for the mysterious man riding in the backseat.
Lenora
I came across crazy people on the daily giving rides to strangers for a living. I carried pepper spray and I wasn’t afraid to use it. But one gorgeous male in a fake mustache and a story he wasn’t willing to share, and I was ready to climb in the backseat to peel his layers. He’s … share, and I was ready to climb in the backseat to peel his layers. He’s a distraction I don’t need as I graduate online college and try to get my first professional job so I can move out of my parents’ house before I’m thirty. I’m so close to realizing my dreams I can taste it.
Jayden
I should have never hit on my driver. Even if she was the hottest thing I’d seen in cutoff jean shorts in maybe forever. I wasn’t in Auburn Hill for personal reasons and getting involved with the locals came ill-advised as I set up my new business. I probably shouldn’t know she curses like a sailor in bed considering I wind up interviewing her for a position in my company. Now I’m thinking of all kinds of positions I can put her in. Maybe she’ll settle for being an employee with benefits…
But none of that matters now. Because I fired her.
In front of the whole town.
On her first day.
Pretty sure there’s no coming back from that.
Uber Bossy is a laugh-out-loud RomCom featuring a single dad opening a salacious new business in a small town and the preacher’s daughter who really doesn’t want to be dating her new boss. Uber Bossy is book two in the Jobs From Hell series.

Such a crazy story of how a friendship can be made. And how a crazy town accepts you. But what happens when the true reason you’re in said town are revealed? Will you be chased out of accepted? Read this hilarious small town story to find out.
I adored Lenora and Jayden’s book! It was so great to make a return trip to this small town that is filled with a whole lot of zaniness! To be honest, I had no idea how badly I needed the colossal dose of whacky characters , over-the-top, laugh out loud humor, heart wrenching emotion and steamy heat that this book provides until I was knee deep in it. This is a book that will melt your heart and have you swooning, while it also brightens your day and puts a smile that won’t quit on your face. I loved Lucy and Bain from book one, Love Bank and I wasn’t sure if another couple could compare but these two easily carved out their own niche in my heart in no time at all. While I think you should read book one because it is just that good; I do think you could read this book as a standalone. I firmly believe though that once you get a taste of this series you’ll want more!! A great cast of secondary characters and some well laid out groundwork will leave you very eager for the next book in this awesome series! This is my sincere review that I am posting of my own accord.
Uber Bossy by Marika Ray was such a fun and light read that will having you laughing out loud. I truly enjoyed reading it and it left me feeling happy and smiling. Lenora is ready for a change. As an Uber driver, she is used to all kind of characters in her car, but the day Jayden is a rider, her life is about to change. They have an instant connection, but Jayden is guarded while she is determined. They are so good together, but well no journey is ever easy. I loved these characters and their journey so much. Uber Bossy by Marika Ray hilarious and charming read. I am excited to read more from this series.
Read and reviewed for Reviews From the Heart.
Happy reading!
Is it enough to say that everything I said about the first book applies to this one too? Yeah. I didn’t think so. This book was quirky and sweet, a little angsty and oh so much fun to read. I loved that Lenora had a plan and she was going to work it no matter how it took to get there. Jayden is adorable but so utterly clueless. But that just serves to make him extra charming when he gets vulnerable. I adored these two together. Their chemistry fairly crackles off the page, and they give great snarky banter. The townsfolk are their usual nutty selves and I can’t wait until we get to come back and do it all over again.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Another fantastic, laugh out loud romantic comedy. Lenora and Jayden will have you in stitches when you return to Auburn Hill. It’s a perfect mix of hilarity, drama and some mystery as to the culprit of graffiti and missing toys. This is a series that I recommend reading when things are rough because your day will be brighter and you cannot help the smile that comes to your face. Cannot wait for the next book in this series.
Oh goodness. Where to start with Lenora and Jayden? Sweet, soooo sexy…like wow…like Uber hot…funny….I mean there’s seagulls and goats and cats and kids (the human kind). When can I move to Hell and be their friends?
~ I was given this book and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise
Welcome back to Hell!
And boy what a nice return it was.
Marika has done it again. Another amazing book. Gorgeous book boyfriend and hilarious antics.
I love me a single dad story and this one is a good one. I’m so glad we got Jayden and Lenora’s story. I cannot wait for more!
If I could give this book a billion stars I would. I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard while falling in love with a book. I’m talking tears streaming down my face, making my family think I’ve officially lost it, full on lunatic laughing here. When I wasn’t peeing my pants in laughter my cheeks were hurting from constantly smiling like a loon in pure joy from the happiness Jayden and Lenora brought me.
Marika Ray just has this special magic with her writing that really brings happiness to the soul. I don’t know how else to explain it, it really is magical. The characters, their story, it all just works together to keep you smiling nonstop.
There is something to be said about a series like this one… that helps you escape, makes you laugh & smile (especially with what’s going on in our world right now) Uber Bossy is that book and The Jobs From Hell is that series Full of all the sass, laugh out loud moments, all the steam, ridiculousness, angry seagulls, connections, a girl gang you will instantly wanna be a part of & a one-of-a kind small town setting… Seriously, SO GOOD! I could NOT put this book down & I cannot wait for more from this series.
Uber Bossy is an interconnected stand alone book in the Jobs from Hell Series. I highly recommend reading Love Bank first, if you want ALL the backstory for this one. This is a hilarious rom-com with a gun-shy hero and a sweet and sassy heroine.
I can 100% envision the entire town of Auburn Hill, aka Hell. I can especially relate to the roundabout….
All of the characters are well-developed and I totally want to be their friends in real life. I’m also REALLY curious about Titus and Rip. Lenora, the heroine, is happy and always giving hugs, and looking for her first “real” job. Jayden, the hero, is nervous about his past, his future, and his upcoming job.
The plot is fantastic. You have the romance, family attachments, the entire town being nosy, and some job issues to overcome. There is more animal hilarity to be had, as well. OH and a baby. Babies are awesome.
This was a light-hearted, funny, romantic read with LOTS of heat and a very minimal black moment. (Just how I like ‘em!)
If you love Pippa Grant, Delancey Stewart, and the Bootleg Spring series by Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley, you’ll love this book, too!
I absolutely love this hilarious new book from Marika Ray!! If there was ever a time when I needed to laugh it was now, and Uber Bossy did the trick. I love Nora, with her motivated work ethic, feisty personality and amazing sense of humor. She doesn’t let anything bother her and she always goes after what she wants. Nora makes every Uber pick up an adventure, and the scenes where she maneuvers through the roundabout
are always interesting and far from boring. Nora never knows who will be waiting for her when she arrives at the airport, and when she saw Jayden approach her car and call her name in his sexy, gravelly voice, she knew she was in big trouble. He was sex on a stick and too much temptation to resist. What could she possibly do but take him for a ride and see where it goes. Little did she know that her handsome passenger with the impeccable suit and fake mustache had secrets that were too juicy to ignore. What was he doing in Auburn Hill and who was he hiding from? Jayden was in town for one reason and one reason only, which didn’t include falling in love with his beautiful and fiery driver. Nora was something else and his heart wanted to know more about her, but his mind put up a stop sign. He felt like he was stuck in the roundabout, going in circles with nowhere to go. Jayden wondered if he had made the wrong decision to move to this friendly, but eccentric town. Only time will tell.
A light hearted romantic comedy is good for the soul…..and this book was just what I needed. Laugh out loud moments, steamy moments, swoon worthy moments and a few happy tears sprinkled in. Marika Ray is a favorite of mine when I need a low angst book. Loved this one!
Omg! From the very first page I was completely hooked! I loved Nora and Jay.
I was laughing so much with these two!
Lenora and Jayden first meet when he is posing as a mysterious stranger with a very dodgy fake mustache!!!!
Jayden is new in town, taking care of business with plans to eventually move to town but he has a few secrets!
Nora is working her job as a Uber driver ( I wish she was my Uber driver) and studying at the same time.
The sparks were flying instantly with these two and I couldn’t wait to see how it ended.
I absolutely loved Uber Bossy and I am excited to read the next one in the series.
I received an arc of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Another great funny read. Nora and Jayden are so wonderful! And Nora is about as funny as they come… which is good since Jayden starts out with a stick up his butt. There wasn’t a thing about this story that I did not love…. there was an office scene… a town/county fair…. beautiful baby moments…. and some REALLY HOT stuff too! What more could you want? Loved it.
Who knew you could find love in the back of an Uber? Lenora has goals and driving an Uber in Auburn Hills is not it. Jayden is working towards a new life for him and his son and a woman wasn’t even on his radar until Lenora and the little town affectionately known as Hell. This was a slow-ish burn story of finding your future when you least expect it. This story had all the feels between Nora and Jay along with their friends and the town folk. It was sweet, funny and real.
“I didn’t know what this girl was doing to me, but I was equally loving it and terrified of it.” ~ Jayden
This is the 2nd book in this awesome series and is Lenora and Jayden’s story. This is a beautifully written tale which is humorous, emotional, heart-wrenching, and with undeniable chemistry and twists which all lead to a riveting and all-consuming read which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive and laugh-out-loud page turner. I highly recommend for all.
Uber Bossy is the second book in the Jobs From Hell series and dare I say better than the first book. From the very start of the book, I was laughing along with Lenora and Jayden. Then add in Auburn Hill and all of the friends and family and eccentric characters that make this small town the place to live, love, and laugh with everyone, and you have this wonderful rom-com story. Lenora is a wonderfully strong female pursuing her dream and Jayden is a man wanting to settle down in a small town. These two are perfect for each other and this story gives their relationship life. Marika Ray has really knocked it out of the park with this book.
