I know what it’s like to have your heart split down the middle. One-half chases her. The other half chases after the lies, deceit, and betrayal. It’s a burning ball of hell. Seconds, minutes, hours, and years all spent endured the depth of my own burning inferno. All of it runs together while life passes me by.Thirteen years ago, the woman I was in love with left me standing at the altar. Hurt. … standing at the altar.
Hurt.
Broken.
Humiliated.
Some say thirteen is a lucky number.
Me? I curse the number.
Now she’s back.
Reminding me.
Torturing me.
She says things are not what they seem.
That they weren’t then either.
Do I believe her?
Do I forgive?
Forget?
Time and truth will tell.

I loved Tyson! Sometimes standing by your family is the worst thing you can do for yourself, Lynne learned that the hard way! Family isn’t always blood either, Lynne also learned that. The bonds in this story are so strong, it’s wonderful. I loved touching base with Riddick & Cora, Jude & Viv, along with the girls parents. I liked getting to know Dane a bit better in this story, I am so excited to see he gets his too!
5 Tyson Bright Stars!!!
If you read Riddick and Jude, the first two books in this series then you are ahead of the game. This is a standalone and you won’t be lost if you didn’t read the first two. Even though I read them I was so unprepared for Tyson and Lynne.
Tyson and Lynne were high school sweethearts. They were lonely, unpopular and unloved . Then they met and they were finally happy and loved. When the were graduating Tyson was going to enlist. They were planning on getting married. But, on their wedding day only Tyson showed up for it.
Years later a new neighbor moves next door to Riddick, Jude and the girls. They later found out who she was. Tyson disappears for awhile until he was ready to face the situation.
Lynne has loved Tyson since she layed eyes on him. Right before their wedding day, she gets devastating news. Her evil parents convince her Tyson won’t stand by her and to leave him.She gets married to a guy she doesn’t love. Lynne’s back to being lonely and unloved. She’s never stopped loving Tyson. She came back for him.
Tyson was crushed when Lynne left him without a word. Then, she got married and he became dead inside. He took it out on the people closest to him. Riddick, Jude, Dane have never asked him what happened.
Tyson’s past has fast forwarded to his present. Tyson realizes he must face it. When Tyson learns the truth and I mean the whole truth, everything changes. His insides the parts that got all hard. They’re starting to crumble and he’s starting to feel things he hasn’t in awhile. But, before he can give into them Tyson plans on going after the people who took it away. Lynne must also face and stand up to the people who’ve took everything away from her. She’ll learn things she never knew. They have a huge battle ahead of them.
Tyson finally tell the guys in. They open their arms and hearts to him for finally opening up to them. They’re a family and they stand behind him. Lynne was alone. Then Maggie, Cora, Vivian and their mother entered her life.Tyson’s family opened their hearts and lives to her.
Tyson and Lynne’s story was a tear jerker. They had so much against them from such an early age. It broke my heart. It would be a great idea to read the first two books. It would be good if you knew Riddick & Cora story as well as Jude & Vivian’s story.
Kathy Coopmans has such a beautiful way of writing. She makes me feel everything from crying to laughing to pissed the next. She’s one author I’ll buy without needing to read the synopsis. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
You know, I thought Kathy Coopmans hit it hard with the emotions with Riddick and Jude, but the heartbreak in Tyson was just off the charts. This second chance romance keeps you on your toes with the little twists and turns but always sweeps you off your feet as everything from the past comes to light for Lynne and Tyson.
I think the one thing that really drew me into this one is Lynne. She is a spitfire and a fighter. After everything she was put through thanks to her family, she moves forward and does not back down no matter how much her family tries to weasel their way in. You can so feel the emotions between Tyson and Lynne not just the chemistry. Their history is sad and haunting almost as they figure out how things were shattered for them. Fast forward and the spice heats right back up as they navigate the broken pieces.
Overall, I think this one is my favorite out of this series so far. There is so much raw grit and passion that keeps you totally engrossed in every word. I enjoyed each little thing that came to light and it added so much more depth to the story of Lynne and Tyson. If you have not read this series, I totally recommend snagging it now because it has all the elements for an amazing tale!
