So much happens and changes in this book while so much stays the same!
New revelations from Rhia, Jemin, and Laura change the way Maray looks at her new world while she is striving to become a princess for her people. Heck’s friendship and loyalty to Maray are strong and when tested, he proves himself to be deserving of the trust Maray and Jemin have in him.
Corey’s emotions get stomped on, chewed up, and then spit out with each new truth that is revealed about her magical abilities and Feris. Wil is a great match for her and his confidence in her abilities are uplifting.
Jemin goes through so much in this book…and I won’t have any spoilers, but wow. There’s a steamy scene that connects to a message he sends to Maray which makes you want to squeal while your heart breaks a little because there are even more obstacles between them. I’m still holding onto hope that they will figure something out, but we’ll have to wait and see!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
And so the plot thickens in the 3rd book of the series. Whilst Maray tries desperately to fit into her role as Princess, another, more ominous threat seems imminent, putting both Worlds in danger. After an unfortunate incident, Jemin’s life is no longer as simple as it was. His and Maray’s love seems doomed, especially since Allanin requires that Maray chooses a suitor as her betrothed and he is not eligible. The emotions between them are so poignant and beautiful. As Maray struggles with court protocols, a few more characters come to assist her and guide her. It was fun to read about Maray’s having to choose a handmaid and the ceremony, as well her choice. I especially liked how Corey had a bigger part to play in this book, a really cool character. But threats lurk everywhere, no one can let their guard down. The tale takes on an interesting twist when they discover who is after Maray and why. Now Maray and her allies must do everything they can to prevent an even bigger disaster. But not all goes according to plan…thank goodness I won’t be left hang because thankfully there’s book 4! With much anticipation, I’m off to see how it all comes together and who will prevail! Extremely readable series! Great fun
I don’t know how she does it, but each book in this series is more brilliant than the last. the lives of Maray and her friends become more intricate and tangled as Maray moves through her new life as a princess of Allinan. Her parents have given her more latitude because of her upbringing in the modern world. But that is simply not the way to proceed. With Rhia in the dungeon, waiting to find out what punishment has been decided for her, Maray is pushed to take on the responsibilities expected of her as the princess. The intrigues going on in the background and with her, in general, are intense and not exactly what she would choose if she had that right. And nothing she has believed so far is as it seems.
I couldn’t pull myself out of this story, and the more I read, the deeper it became. I found myself going through the gambit of emotions from angry to excited to literal tears. I don’t know if my heart can stand another chapter to this story, but my mind is so excited to see what happens next that I’m hoping the wait doesn’t have me biting all of my nails to the quick. This story, from book one to this volume is unpredictable and exquisite torture, and I can’t even imagine what direction the author will be taking our young princess next. Excellent world building and a wonderful and heart-rending adventure.
I loved both books in this series so far and this new installment took it to the next level! My heart was in my throat the entire time. The characters are so engrossing. I thought I knew where the story was going but boy was I wrong. These characters have endeared themselves to my heart and I can’t wait to see where they go next.
Maray’s journey continues…..
“Two Worlds of Redemption” takes on immediately after the events related in “Two Worlds of Oblivion” and follows Maray, our heroine, in her journey to become a part of the Allinan ruling dynasty.
Everything seems to be just right: enemies have been defeated, the evil grandmother is safely locked up in the dungeons, and Maray is finally able to publicly appear in front of the people of Allinan. But, of course, appearances are deceiving and not more than the proverbial calm before the storm. As Maray stands before the Allinan as the crown princess, she notices the first sign of danger: there is a man with crimson eyes in the crowd, her enemies are not defeated, they are just hiding!
This time around Maray has the support of both her mother and her father finally reunited, but as a royal princess, she must also comply with a rigid set of rules and traditions, that force her to make some hard decisions between love and duty. Decisions that put her interaction with Jemin and her relationship with Heck to the test before she comes to terms with her own destiny. The story is a fine tapestry of adventure, fantasy, and romance, a real page turner.
The whole series is carefully crafted with complex and interesting characters. The secondary characters are fleshed out and tridimensional. We get to know Maray’s parents and to understand their role in the story, the evolutions of Rhia’s (Maray’s grandmother) character is especially satisfactory.
The Two Worlds Series by Angelina J. Steffort will continue in “Two Worlds of Dominion” the fourth and final book in the series.
