Such a great book to end this series – although more stories in Allinan are coming, and based on what happens at the end, I have a good feeling which character might be a focus!
Maray’s dad seems to have a more significant role in this book – nothing that takes over, but his conversations feel like they change things for people…whether its getting the council to listen, trying to get justice for Laura, or giving hope to someone who felt like all was lost for their heart.
Heck has a lot going on with his duties as Maray’s chosen fiance from the ball, and fighting if he can follow where his own heart is leading him.
Jemin and Heck have such a strained relationship simply due to the engagement…even though they both know it’s basically the best option for everyone to keep the council happy and therefore securing Maray’s claim to the throne.
Jemin and Maray have so many things to deal with, understand, and share with each other.
I enjoyed having chapters from Corey’s POV and having her relationship with Wil shine through without overpowering her journey. There is so much for her to tackle and she remains so fierce and dedicated to Maray.
Maray learns a lot about politics, the power she can weild as the presumptive next monarch, as well as her magic. Taking down Gan Krai is her mission so she can do her best to rule her people in ways that allow peace and really prosperity. The issues surrounding the war are really interesting and complex both for how things escalate and how the individual battles are done.
I’m definitely looking forward to future books in Allinan!
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Having read through this series in lightning speed, I can honestly say that it’s incredibly difficult to put down! There are so many aspects to the story, yet each plot, sub plot and context is so well captured and conveyed. The 2 World’s and how they interact, is a very smooth transition from one to the other, one almost believes it could actually be true. That, to me, is what makes a series worth reading, that it is so easy to forget this is fiction and to be thoroughly immersed in the story. Only when I has read the entire series, does I feel as though I had come out of a trance. The intricacies of how Maray, Jemin, Corey, Heck and the rest of the wonderful characters are compelling and authentic. I so enjoyed how Maray rallies to become the Royal she is destined to become, how the people of Allinan rally around her, how the final battle played out. I must confess I was devastated about Pen! Even though this is a complete series, it ended in a sort of cliffhanger, opening up for another great series where this one leaves off! I certainly hope Angelina will be continuing the story! I HAVE to find out where and with whom Heck has gone. As for Seri and the rest of Allinan, there must be more!
My God, this story was absolutely breathtaking. The intricacies of the plot and subplots were woven so well together that they fed into each other, making the story more exciting the further I read.
With her mother and grandmother dead, Maray had to take the throne sooner or later though she would have preferred not to sit on it at all. It’s a huge responsibility in a kingdom she is only learning about within the time constraints since she discovered its existence. As queen, she wants to do what’s best for Allinan and its people, but the intrigues of court and the mystery of who is after her has her embroiled in danger she is afraid will come to war and isn’t sure she’ll survive. And throughout, it is a tale of magic and power and in the end, love – love for her new people and love she is forbidden to experience.
Both worlds are vivid and colorful, filled with characters that beg the reader to join them on their journey. The story is compelling, full of twists and turns, and the ending is completely unexpected. It I know the author purposely brought us to a place where we could stop reading and find our happily-ever-after, but there are still related tales to be told. And I, for one, am hoping she tells us the rest. It was a beautiful and enchanting tapestry, and I hope she finishes weaving the fringed edges.
Maray’s journey comes to an end….
“Two Worlds of Dominion” the fourth and final book in the “Two Worlds Series” by Angelina J. Steffort a real masterpiece and fitting finale for outstanding Series,
narrated from both Maray’s and Jemin’s point of view.
Barely a month after putting both her mother and grandmother on the grave, Maray is about to be crown the new Queen of Allinan and thus be locked in a marriage of convenience she does not really want. As the weight of responsibility threatens to crash down, Maray needs to decide the kind of ruler she wants to be, follow the familiar line or carve a new path of her own. An uneasy task that will impact the lives all, not only her loved ones, but all the citizens of Allinan.
While Maray decides on the fate of the whole kingdom, Jemin has to come to terms with his own loss, he knows Maray’s weeding is a given, to ensure the continuation of the dynasty (or it is not?), but he cannot barely envision his life without her.
The story develops between hard taken decisions for the good of Allinan and the call of their own hearts, all woven in a wonderful tale full of romance, adventure, fantasy and a real page turner. A wonderful series with real, complex and interesting characters, an original world setting, all of them encasing in Angelina J. Steffort’s a superb writing style.
Maray’s journey has been once of the more satisfying readings of the genre, and while her story is finally told, there is still a lot of Allinan to be discover…
