Two Minutes is the sixth installment in Dannika Dark’s paranormal/shifter romance series titled Seven. Each book in this series features a different lead character/romance, and this one is about little Maizy. After being sent away to boarding school, she returns to the only home she has ever known. Not much has changed…well except for her! She’s all grown up now, and Denver is struggling not to notice.
Followers of the Seven series will be very familiar with Maizy and Denver’s relationship. Denver has always served as Maizy’s protector, her “watchdog” up until she was sent away. So I was a bit conflicted at times to see their relationship turn into a romance. Due to shifter immortality, Denver has physically been an adult during Maizy’s entire childhood. It was just weird to change my mindset from an appropriate child/adult dynamic to a non-platonic adult/adult dynamic. However, I should note that the romance is not immediate, which I appreciated. Afterall, it took me a minute to buy into it.
Dannika Dark writes Two Minutes through Maizy’s perspective, which was incredibly helpful in getting to know Maizy as the woman she has become. Overall, Two Minutes was sweet, funny, angsty, and very sexy. In addition to the romance, a lot goes on in this story to add some suspenseful emotions. It was a fun read. If this series has ever caught your eye, I would recommend it. I’m enjoying it and will be sad when it’s over. Check it out!
I love Denny and Maizy’s story. They is so much to say but I don’t want to give anything away. His love, care n tenderness is so deep that its surprising. Maizy has grown to be an amazingly strong and beautiful. Their relationship is slow to rekindled but the love and joy is what pulls them together. Great read.
“Loving you is what I do best” – Denver
Who wouldn’t want to hear that from someone you love. Maizy is one lucky girl
Denver was Maizy’s watchdog. After reading the first five books in the series, I’ve never thought or felt Denver treated her differently. He was protective of her and treated her as a friend from the start. Denver is a kid at heart, they like and enjoyed the same thing.s So I’m really happy that they get to be together.
I was really hoping that this would be more intense as it was repeatedly stated from all the books that Denver’s wolf was unpredictable and loco. Then there’s Maizy’s birthmark, I was also expecting that this will provide more intensity and suspense because of its secrecy. There were so many things going on, there were some scenes that I felt unfinished. (I’m still hoping it’ll work out on the next book).
And let’s not forget Spartacus, that’s one weird cat
Favorite Quote/Line:
“Look here, Peanut. All that bullshit about you moving on was so I wouldn’t have to worry about you locking yourself in a room for the rest of your life, thinking I was the best you could do. It’s pretty obvious I don’t stack up to guys like Prince, but I am devoted to you, protective of you, fascinated by you, and deeply, deeply in love with you.” (less)
I love Maizy and Dennys story.
Maizy is now an adult and after several years abroad studying, she finally returns home to hopefully stay for good.
Denny suddenly have to deal with his feelings for Mazy and she doesn’t make it easy for him.
Temptation, passion and death wrapped in old mysteries fills this book.
I highly recommend all the series by this author.
Great Series
