Queen of Suspense and #1 New York Times bestselling writer Mary Higgins Clark brilliantly weaves the mystery of twin telepathy into a mother’s search for a kidnapped child, presumed dead in this “riveting…suspense thriller [that] is certain to send terror into the heart of any parent” (Publishers Weekly). Hours after throwing a third birthday party for their twins Kathy and Kelly in their … twins Kathy and Kelly in their Connecticut home, Margaret and Steve Frawley return home from a dinner in New York to discover the police in the house, their daughters missing, and an eight million dollar ransom note. The Frawleys meet the kidnapper’s demands, but the abandoned car they’re led to contains only Kelly, the body of the driver, and a suicide note, saying he had inadvertently killed Kathy and dumped her body in the ocean.
At the private memorial Mass for Kathy, Kelly tugs Margaret’s arm and says that her sister Kathy “wants to come home right now.” More unexplainable occurrences indicate that Kelly is in touch with Kathy, but no one except Margaret believes that Kathy is still alive. As Kelly’s warnings become increasingly specific and alarming, however, FBI agents set out on a search for the kidnappers as Kathy’s life hangs by a thread.
Delving into the well-documented but still unexplained phenomenon of twin telepathy, worldwide #1 bestseller Mary Higgins Clark takes us deep into the minds of her characters while lifting us to the heights of suspense.

Always suspenseful and keeps you reading all night. Snuggle up and dive in.
I couldn’t put this book down, it really kept me on edge. Very good book
She is one of my favorite authors ever. I was truly saddened by her passing. But this was the first book by her that I read and I couldn’t put it down. Her style very much reminds me of Agatha Christie, who is my absolute favorite author. Because of this book, I practically lived at my library checking out as many of her books as they had available.
Great book from a great author. She will be missed. All her books are page turning, edge of your seat books.
Another MHC that I enjoyed. This was not as much as a twist at the end as some of the others that I have read by her, but still good. The red herrings seemed almost obvious from the point of introduction, but I had no idea of the actual Pied Piper until it was revealed. Very descriptive writing style and easy to imagine you were there and knew the characters.
Could not put it down felt like I was looking for the little girls myself
She is a favorite mystery author of mine. I have read all of her books. Good story line and not too scary.
Mary Higgins Clark is one of my all time favorite authors! In my opinion, it’s hard to put one of her books down once you’ve started reading it. She’s that type of author that makes you want to see what’s on the next page and this book is no different..just when you think you have it figured out she throws another twist in it. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.
I love Mary Higgins Clark books, all are very good.
It was a little predictable though suspenseful, I love Mary Higgins Clark’s books. it took me a moment to solve all of the puzzles.

Quick reading book that is hard to put down. Excellent interaction between characters. Realistic plot that has reader on edge.
This was an amazing book. I recommend it if you like to be kept at the edge of your seat. I live in Ct and the setting is in Ct and places I have visited, which made it interesting. She is a talented author. A must read!
My all time favorite author!
