Two for the Money, Harry Starke, Book 2 by Blair Howard was another well-written cop-turned-detective story with a terrific main character, Harry Starke. Harry is his own man and manages to get into some serious situations while solving crimes with his sometimes-girlfriend, Kate the cop. Twists and turns abound with just enough narrative to make the story come to life. I am a Harry Starke fan and I’m off to read Book 3. I highly recommend this entertaining novel.
A call from an old school buddy turns deadly and sets Harry off on yet another investigation – when he can find time between juggling his lady loves.
I loved this old-fashioned, hard-boiled detective novel. The characters are fun, there’s lots of action, and the complex mystery plot provided lots of clues and yet kept me guessing until nearly the end of the story.
A good read.
Two for the Money (Harry Starke #2), my twentieth read from author Blair Howard after reading all 5 books in the Harry Stark Genesis series & all 9 books in the Kare Gazzara series I figured it was high time to go back to the beginning. Well-written and enjoyable, edge of your seat detective fiction. I look forward to Hill House (Harry Starke #3). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 – July 24, 2018)
