SavannahI didn’t think I was missing anything. I had my son, a great career, and a home that I’d made for both of us. One puck over the glass at a hockey game made me realize I wanted more. The larger-than-life hockey player inserted himself into our world and I never wanted to let him go. The thing is, I don’t know if I’m strong enough to keep him.PorterMy home was on the ice, with a stick in my … the ice, with a stick in my hand and a puck on my tape. It took one little boy with a toothless smile and his spitfire mother to change all that. I wanted them to be my home and I was willing to take all the penalties necessary to make it happen.
Now I just have to convince her that we can handle it all together.
Melding three lives into one isn’t as easy as it seems, especially with the traveling, the media, and the insecurities. Savannah and Porter have to decide whether to use the breakaway to head to the goal or take a seat on the bench.
After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love!

A sweet story about a single mother who meets one of the star players for New York’s NHL team and sparks fly.
Savannah always puts her son Logan first, and is surprised by Porter making such an effort to get to know and date her. Porter loves hockey and feels a near instant connection with Savannah and her son Logan. I liked the relationship between Savannah and Porter. They always put Logan first and supported each other.
Logan was adorable! I loved how happy, sweet, and loving he was. He loved his mother and it was sweet seeing his relationship with Porter grow.
There were a couple moments that seemed slightly odd, but overall an enjoyable book!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.

I found this to be an incredibly fast, fun read. It was the perfect fun, light book with a HEA just when I needed. Porter was just the perfect level of sweet, kind, motivated, and hot. In other words, the ideal unicorn. And he single-mindedly pursued Savannah, while including her son Logan. There wasn’t any over-the-top drama and all of the intimacy seemed in sync with their characters. I wish I could have seen more backstory on Savannah from when she first found out she was pregnant with Logan, but not having that wasn’t detrimental to the story.
I’ll give it four stars because I can easily assign the term page-turner (read it just a few hours), the characters were engaging, and the story flow was spot on. It’s a good summer or lazy weekend read. You’ll have a smile on your face when you get to the last page – a pretty great way to end a book.
You had me at hockey player! I loved the feels of this book and felt the characters had natural reactions in the story line. These books truly fill my heart and give me hope in romance again
I love the name Porter!! So I was into this story when I read the synopsis. And I love when a pro athlete is the opposite of what you’d expect: he/she isn’t the cocky, swaggering, promiscuous attention seeker. And Porter is definitely not that. He’s just a normal guy, who yes, plays a professional sport, but is intrigued by a woman and her son as soon as he sees them.
There were times that I felt like Savannah and Porter got into a relationship so quickly but when you have that chemistry, which they seem to, time doesn’t matter. Savannah is a great mother who would do anything for her son Logan – who is freaking adorable!! I think the ONLY thing that might make him too adorable was if he had a lisp or speech impediment too.
Another great 425 Madison Ave story! I really am loving this series.
Two For Holding is book four in the incredible 425 Madison Avenue series. It was written by Kay Gordon who is a new to me author.
Savannah and Porter had an immediate connection but it took a lot of work and a bit of drama for them to get to their happily ever after.
I loved this and all of the 425 Madison Avenue books. These amazing authors all have a way of drawing you so far into the story that you feel as though you live in their world. I don’t know about you but I seriously was to live at 425 Madison Avenue.
Two for Holding is my favorite so far of the 425 Madison Series. I believe it is because of the amazing hockey player (Go BLACKHAWKS) and the amazing mother with the sweet little boy. Their meeting is exactly what I love to see when I watch a game. The interaction between the players and the young fans is wonderful and Kay Gordon wrote it perfectly.
Porter and Savannah didn’t take the easy route. They struggled, they worked it out, and they talked about it all. Especially Savannah’s wonderful son. They discussed what was best for him, included him in their dates, and protected him as best they could from the realities of being part of a very public life. I loved seeing Porter melt with the love he felt, the protectiveness come out, and his life forever change as he figured out how to become a family. Savannah was wonderful at how she protected her son while allowing herself to become a woman again. By being a woman again she became a better mother and a happier person.
425 Madison is a place where love grows, where happiness is found, and where families flourish. This unique series takes books by various authors and puts them in the same setting while bringing together amazing people, families, and friends.
Another wonderful book out of the 425 Madison Ave series. A first read of Kay Gordon’s for me.
I’m not well versed in hockey, however I’m finding that I like to read books about hockey players.
This one was super sweet. Single mom Savannah takes her son to a hockey game and there he sees his favorite player.
Porter sees Savannah and all it takes is a second before he needs to find her and get to know her.
A couple characters from past books pop up. I found myself not being able to read this book fast enough yet wanting to read it slow so I could savor it.
If you’ve not read a hockey book before take a chance!
You will really enjoy this story, I definitely did.
Hockey player and a single mom – YES PLEASE! Kay Gordon’s Two for HOlding is the perfect addition to the 425 Madison series! Sweet, funny and perfect! I loved the characters and the story just flowed! FIVE STARS!!
This was such a great story! My second in the 425 Madison series, as well as new to me author Kay Gordon, who just earned a new fan. I love sports romance, but even more so when little kiddos are involved and can turned a big alpha male into mush.
Two for Holding follows Savannah, a single mom who absolutely adores her son Logan, who is a big fan of Hockey and the captain of the local team Porter. While watching a game, Savannah meets Porter by chance, immediate sparks happen when he gives her son a kind gift, after another fan steal her sons gift from Porter. Both Savannah and Porter’s life changes when the single mother is shown what it means to be with someone famous and what it means to have to choose love of protecting your family.
Porter is highlighted as a man-whore, but frankly I didn’t really get that vibe from him. He had a tough divorce, in a sense, as his ex couldn’t handle his schedule and traveling. Luckily he and his ex are on good terms and they grew up, but Porter hasn’t found that happiness yet, until he meets Savannah and her cute and smart son Logan. I really liked Porter, I didnt get the full of himself, jokey appeal that most authors shoot for when it comes to athletes. He loves his job, his friends and Savannah and Logan become this light that he didnt know he was missing.
Savannah is a tough as nails and dedicated momma bear, she lives and breathes for her son, who in turn is the best kid around. Logan ‘s father is still in the picture but only a little, he has personal issues and gambling, even if he loves his son, his first priority isn’t him. Savannah is not ready for what it means to date a well known athlete. She is pushed into the limelight along with her son, which adds a lot of challenges.
Overall I liked the simplicity of the story, it may be predictable for some, but for me it was something I really needed. I’ve been stuck in a rut and finally found a book that I really enjoyed and characters who were sweet, had some smoking hot romance and had the most adorable kid ever.
Porter is a NHL player who lives at 425 Madison. At a game one day, he sees an adorable 5 year old boy, Logan, who is a huge hockey fan, and his mom Savannah. He gives Logan a puck from warm ups, but then sees a man steal it from him. Powerless to do anything during the game, he has an usher take Savannah and Logan to the luxury lounge to watch the rest of the game rink-side. He comes to visit after the game and gives Logan another puck but he is entranced by Savannah. A random run-in a few days later crosses their paths again, and Porter makes sure he has a way to contact her and they soon begin a real relationship. Savannah worries about the media circus and how it affects Logan, however. But when a parent’s worst nightmare happens, she realizes that Porter is worth dealing with the media and security.
This was such a good book. The chapters alternate POV between Porter and Savannah, and then we have one told through Logan’s POV. Porter is amazing with Logan and it’s clear Savannah is *it* for him. He loves both of them enough to sacrifice everything to keep them safe. Savannah is cautious in order to protect her son, but she and Porter have a love that just can’t be denied. She also is willing to sacrifice her own happiness to protect her son. I loved the scene where Savannah and Logan met Porter’s parents. They are a sweet couple! And the epilogue brought a tear to my eyes. It was simply perfect.
Ugh I am an emotional wreck. This book is so sweet. Porter and Savannah are wonderful together. Add a cute little boy, Logan, to the mix and I am a gooey mess.
Single mom, Savannah meets Hockey Player, Porter at a game she takes her little boy too. This book starts out adorable and just keeps my emotions high throughout. Logan makes me smile with his love of all things hockey.
Umm plan for some conflict that might make you tear up. Eek! Oh you will get some swoon worthy sexiness between Savannah and Porter. These characters make my heart happy and this book was a wonderful afternoon read. It had all the elements I love.
Beautiful 5 star story… HAPPY READING!
Two For Holding is the fourth book in the 425 Madison Series. I am so impressed with the 425 Madison series and I think you will be too! This is Kay Gordon’s FIRST hockey romance novel but I hear that she is a HUGE Predator’s fan which explains why she able to go into so much detail. Grab your beverage of choice and let’s chat about Porter, Savannah, and the show-stealing Logan.
Logan is a five-year old bundle of cuteness who is a HUGE hockey fan and his favorite Titan’s player is Porter Hamilton. Porter noticed Logan in the crowd during a pre-game practice skate and tossed the adorable little boy a puck only for it to be stolen by an older jerk of a man. It is when Savannah unleashes her fury on the jerk who stole her son’s puck that Porter noticed the little dude’s mother who was as beautiful as the kid was cute. Porter, who is distracted by the duo, finally found them in the crowd during the game as they were celebrating a goal only to be knocked on his butt by the intensity of their smiles. In an effort to make up for the jerk stealing Logan’s puck, Porter upgrades their seats to the luxury lounge and visited with them after the game. The chemistry between Porter and Savanah is instant and so strong that neither of them quite knows what to do. Porter, who has been a player, is ready to settle down with Savannah and Logan. However, Savannah is not sure if she is ready to be a WAG and all of the publicity that goes along with it.
Not only has Kay Gordon done her research to write a very believable book about a hockey player, she has spent a lot of time developing her characters. You will meet and HATE Logan’s father – Brandon. Porter Hamilton is lust-worthy and Savannah, well you kind of want to slap her for some of the decisions that she makes. That brings us to the star of the book…Logan who is the real focus of the book. It is his relationship the main characters that really is what will make you laugh as well as cry. My rating for Kay Gordon’s Two For Holding…5 out of 5 propellers!
What a amazing read that will grab you by the heart and have you falling head over heels over this book. This is a amazing story about that will have your heart in emotional ride .
Two for Holding scores a winning goal in my book. Gordon sneaks her way into hearts with the single mom and the hockey star. With one look, both know their lives have changed forever, but with the odds stacked against their burgeoning romance, how do they make it to the playoffs of love? 5 + stars.
Loved it! Great single mom romance with a hockey element which I loved! Wonderful, like the rest of the series! I read an arc copy of this book
This is the fourth book in this awesome series, and is my favourite so far! Savannah is a single mom, and when she gets tickets for a hockey game, her little boy is overjoyed and the captain Porter is his idol. This is a beautifully written story which had me totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose work I highly recommend for all readers.
Captivating story from start to finish, I loved the chemistry not just between Savannah and Porter, but I loved how the author gave as much focus to Logan as well and to she such a strong bond form between the characters. I received a complimentary copy of the book and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
I really enjoyed this book. It had everything you could want in a romance. The H and h had great chemistry. It was funny, sweet and sexy. It was well written and engaging. Definitely recommend reading this.
Savannah and Porter meet when he notices Logan Savannah’s son while warming up before his hockey game. Porter is instantly intrigued by Savannah and goes about trying to find her. They meet up again and sparks definitely fly and soon they are in a fledgling relationship with plenty of issues trying to tear them apart. So what happens when the media goes too far and Savannah just can’t take it anymore is their a chance for live to win? These two gi through alot to get their hea, but it is definitely worth it! Such a good book!
