SavannahI didn’t think I was missing anything. I had my son, a great career, and a home that I’d made for both of us. One puck over the glass at a hockey game made me realize I wanted more. The larger-than-life hockey player inserted himself into our world and I never wanted to let him go. The thing is, I don’t know if I’m strong enough to keep him.PorterMy home was on the ice, with a stick in my … the ice, with a stick in my hand and a puck on my tape. It took one little boy with a toothless smile and his spitfire mother to change all that. I wanted them to be my home and I was willing to take all the penalties necessary to make it happen.
Now I just have to convince her that we can handle it all together.
Melding three lives into one isn’t as easy as it seems, especially with the traveling, the media, and the insecurities. Savannah and Porter have to decide whether to use the breakaway to head to the goal or take a seat on the bench.
After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love!

This was a great read by this wonderful author! I loved Savannah, her adorable son, Logan and Porter, the man who captures Savannah’s heart as well as little Logan’s and become a real family <3
Of course, there are obstacles these two need to overcome but at the end, little Logan brings these two to the conclusion that their love is true and their bond strong and intense and the epilogue was awesome! 🙂
Two For Holding was enjoyable and easy to read, that was sweet but also had a bit of heat to it. Other than a bit of drama at the end, this book had me smiling my way through each chapter and, even though the ending had me a bit anxious, it was wonderful to see these characters find their happy ever after.
Porter and Savannah both have a bit of baggage in their lives, but the author does a wonderful job using their past experiences to shape her characters into the perfect partners for one another. Savannah is a caregiver by nature and employment (she’s a nurse), so I loved that Porter was always the one trying to take care of her and be the support that was missing in her life. Even though Porter has had a bad experience with his first marriage, he has grown and matured from that and, now that he has met Savannah and Logan, he knows that having them as part of his life is exactly what he wants and needs. And I love meet-cutes – and even though they sort-of/kind-of meet at the Porter’s hockey game, I just love how fate brings them together– talk about love smacking you right in the face
I can’t say enough about Logan and how wonderfully written his character was. It’s not often that I find myself enamored with a child in a story, but Kay Gordon did such a fabulous job creating a little boy who was every bit as important to the story as the main characters.
Overall, I really enjoyed the author’s writing and use of dialogue. As I mentioned, this book was so easy to read and focused on all the right moments to make the characters have all the emotional depth needed to draw me in and keep me right in the story. The ending did have me a bit angry, wishing Savannah would have talked more to Porter, but I think that conflict only made their happy ever after so much sweeter.
I am really enjoying the 425 Madison Series and, even though there isn’t a lot of overlap with the characters between books, I really love seeing someone I “know” pop up in the different stories.
I would definitely recommend this one to anyone who loves a good romance – especially those who love a well-written child as part of the story!
This was my first book by Kay Gordon as well as my first book in the 425 Madison Series, and I have to say that I am pleased on both counts. This book was charming and sweet while sexy and hot. I really liked Savannah and Porter but my heart was stolen by Logan.
Savannah is a single mother doing the best she can raising her five year old son, Logan. She works full time as a nurse in Labor and Delivery, which means her hours are sometimes crazy but thankfully she has some great friends that love her and Logan and do everything they can for them. Logan is so full of life as you can imagine a typical five year old would be, he absolutely loves HOCKEY and his favorite player is Porter Hamilton.
I’d say that sparks were flying right from the start when Porter sees Savannah but it was much more than that. I’ve given enough away without any spoilers so I’m not going to start now. If you enjoy a good sports romance or even a romance that involves a single parent I would recommend you giving this book a read. It’s sweet and sexy so while your heart maybe going pitter patter you will need a fan to cool yourself off a bit. And the epilogue, oh how I loved it so.. Happy Reading!!!
**I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine’s Obsessed with Books**
This book is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. I was expecting a book where they see each other and hit it off right away. With a great deal of hot steamy sexy times. That the hero was into having control. Well, he is but not the way I thought. What I got was something more. They have great chemistry and attraction. I also got heavy drama, I would recommend this to anyone!!

Super cute hockey player meets stubborn single mother. Who doesn’t love a five year old who is a fan of hockey and not only the hockey team but for the hockey player that gives him a puck! This was a great read and my first from this author, I will definitely be reading more of her books.
I love hockey player romance, it’s my favorite trope and I have read a lot of them. Two For Holding is right up there with the best of them. This is a well-crafted book with great characters. Savannah and Porter formed a firm friendship along with the attraction. Porter fell just as hard for her young son Logan which made him a hero in my eyes. I also enjoyed the way this author writes her epilogues far in the future so you know how their lives turn out. Great book.
Excellent Sports Romance.
Each book in the 425 series keep getting better and better. I loved reading Savannah and Porter’s story, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
This book got me hook from the beginning. It is an sweet and nice book
I thoroughly enjoyed this story with great characters, romance and intrigue. She was a single mother with a young son who loved hockey. She was given free tickets to see his favorite team and he was given a puck by his favorite player. Several days later their paths crossed again. They started seeing each other, but their path was not easy with traveling, pressures, etc. They made a great couple and the ending was great. I have enjoyed this whole series. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy.
Two For Holding
Very easy to read! Very enjoyable! Very well written! Love the characters! Good sports romance!
I am so enjoying this 425 Madison Avenue series!! Highly recommend!
I loved reading this book. It kept my attention throughout the whole book. The characters were like real life. Savanna, her son Logan and Porter the hockeys player were very Interesting. I was glad to read about him as a man of sports not looking to party and do one night stands. He at least out grew it early in life. I was happy about the ending too.
This series is amazing!!! Let’s see Logan is everything you want in a kid. His mom is everything and more. Now Porter can I just keep him. He’s book boyfriend material. I love single parent stories. This series has everything.
A fantastic well written single mom sports romance. This sweet nice paced storyline was interesting and had me rooting for Porter and Savannah. It includes a little drama, few bumps in the road and some hot sizzling chemistry. Told with dual POV having me engaged from the beginning until the last page turned. I honestly and voluntarily reviewed this ARC with well developed relatable characters and great secondaries.
“Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans” and the term “ Expect the unexpected “ should be the tag line for this book. I fell in love with this sweet story. This isn’t the great American Novel and I am so happy about that. This is a little story that will melt your heart. The author takes everyday situations and brings a realness to them with a bit of salt and sweet.
I don’t do spoilers it’s not fair to the author. I tell you my feelings on how the story affected me with just a little information probably already given in the blurb.
We’re so use to seeing sports players with high profile partners or the bunnies that follow and that happens all the time. This story takes a look at what happens when a high profile hockey player becomes interested in a single mom. It shows both sides of the issue. We are so use to seeing high profile players in celebrity status, we forget many came from humble beginnings. It also spotlights the difficulties of being thrown into the world the average person isn’t accustomed. Also, how does the high profile person deal with the normal world he’s become unaccustomed. Within this book we get to meet up with less than stellar characters that truly add a reality to the story.
Porter, is affable, handsome, and a determined hockey player. His tenacity to meet the woman he saw in the hockey stands is sweet and sexy. He loves with his whole self.
Savannah, is the single mom who’s naturally beautiful without all the makeup and accoutrements. The love she bestows on Logan, her little son only adds to her beauty. She will and forever be a mom who puts his needs above everything else, even her own! She is one fierce momma bear. Savannah gives her all without expectation but she does have certain limitations.
Logan, you will fall in love with!
I loved this story, especially the epilogue. This book is the fourth one in the 425 Madison series. I’ve read three and have really loved every one. Each one is by a different author. We need more books like this. This story nurtured my soul. I read it in one sitting for two reasons. It was an easy read and I didn’t want to put it down. So take a chance and read this sweet and soulful book. You won’t regret it. You deserve to have “ all the feels.”
Porter and Savannah are such a awesome couple. As a hockey lover this book was very factual. And I can only imagine what Savannah went through. Logan was the perfect topping to mix it all up. Do not miss this 425 Madison Series book.
The fourth book in the 425 Madison Series, Two for Holding is all about a love between a single mom and a hockey player. I just loved this story, from the beginning till the end, it was amazing. I have read few other single mom romance story where the Male protagonist first fall for the Female protagonist and later start liking the kid but in this story Porter’s first attraction was Savannah’s son and later his eyes falls on Savannah and their love journey starts. Really a time worth reading, I enjoyed every single page of the story and voluntarily reviewing it for the ARC, I received.
From the moment I picked this one up I was hooked! I fell in love with the characters from page one, and the story itself kept me turning page after page. Porter was an awesome love interest, and he was the perfect match for Savannah and her son Logan. Logan was a great kid, and really didn’t cause any problems. I had a feeling something to do with Logan’s father would be a problem for Savannah and Porter later on, but in a way, it is what brought the two back together after Savannah pushed him away like I had a feeling she was going to. A thing that I just knew was coming, and it made me so mad when she did it! But, I still loved the story, and get why she did what she did at the time. I hadn’t originally signed up to read this one, but decided to when the promotional info started getting sent out. And I’m so glad that I did! This was one I really enjoyed, and I think it’s my first book by this author, but I know for sure it will not be my last!
I am new to Kay Gordon’s writing but she blew me away with her characterization, as well as, her perfect balance of romance and real-life. When nurse and single-mother Savannah meets famous hockey player Porter, you aren’t really sure how things will go. But he proves himself again and again.
The star of this novel, however, was Savannah’s young son Logan. He reminded me so much of my baby (that is now 20 years old) with his sweet yet mature demeanor. And when Porter fell in love with little Logan, my heart was officially stolen!
The dark horse, in a positive way, was Theo. I’m hoping, crossing my fingers, and sending up prayers that he will get his own 425 Madison story, but even if he doesn’t, I loved him nonetheless.
This is the best feel-good book that I have read in a while and cannot recommend it enough! There are a few mentions regarding previous characters but this is absolutely a stand-alone so take a chance on this one!
Two For Holding is an absolutely great read! With each book in the 425 Madison series that’s released I get another new to me author. Kay Gordon, is definitely going to be on my list of author’s to read from now on.
If you are a sports romance fan, this is definitely a book for you. Savannah is a single mom, with a hockey loving young son, Logan. Porter is a hockey player and Logan’s favorite player. When they meet (and the meeting..oh so sweet) Porter is instantly smitten (I love that word). I really love that Porter was the one that was totally head over heels. Its nice to see the guy falling hard first. Heck, Porter is just an all around stand up guy, with good friends and even an ex-wife that’s nice and married to another player from the Titans. (The only thing that drives me nuts about sports novels is that you can’t reference real teams, but they can still play for Lord Stanley)
Now I admit I don’t know much about what goes on with sports groupies, or Puck Bunnies as they are called here, but I really liked how they worked out a relationship between a sports figure and a normal woman and the trials and tribulations that go along with it. In some ways, it reminded me of the relationship between Steelers’ QB Big Ben and his wife, who was a nurse. Though I have to admit I’ve never heard much gossip about any of our hockey players in Pittsburgh.
I was totally in love with book from the start. Its one part reality and one part fairy tale and a really nice combination of two great tropes, sports romance and single parents. Logan is the sweetest little boy and he was really a character and not just a plot device.
If you are looking for a great quick read, this is definitely the book for you.
