I have loved all of Toby Neal books. She keeps me on the edge of my seat, and I can’t wait to continue reading to find out what happens next.
Another fast-paced mystery with Lei Texiera! The interesting way she manages to find the leads that take her from one gruesome crime to another, while she manages to connect the dots on the way to finding the culprits! Her past issues still color her choices and relationships, especially with Michael Stevens, her one true love.
Lei faces the challenges of working for the FBI on an online assisted suicide case, haunted by the memories of her past, which come back to bite her. Through the struggle, she and Stevens try to rekindle their relationship, which in order to work, 1 of them must give up their job for the other. In the end, Stevens and Lei figure out a way to make …
So far, this is my favorite of the Lei Crime series (I have seven more books to change my mind). Lei is a complex character that in previous books frustrated me, but Neal’s colorful writing kept me reading. This book was a turning point for Lei, and I felt like I finally connected to her.
I also loved that Sophie Ang (lead character in Neal’s …
A mystery in a Hawaiian setting! Very entertaining with a few red herrings thrown in to keep you guessing!
You can never go wrong with a Toby Neal book. Always keeps you involved wondering what will happen next
I really enjoyed this series. The characters were great and I enjoyed the quips. Toby Neal is a superb writer and I look forward to reading more of her books.
I enjoy the setting in Hawaii since I had just been there. The plot related to something which I knew about (but I don’t want to give it away). I have read several in this series and enjoy the plots and the characters.
This series just keeps getting better. I love the way Toby writes with such exquisite detail. Five books in and I’m almost starting to feel like a local. Lei is finally starting to find a home too in her family and in her friends. She’s grown a lot in this last book and I’m happy to see that she realizes that she’s not alone. She’s made some new …
Drab set up.
Detective Lei Texiera is at it again. It looks like her move to the FBI hasn’t changed her propensity for getting into trouble, through no fault of her own. We start this book with the discovery of a young beautiful body gracefully posed in his bed. The only problem is that this is the son of a US senator and despite the suicide note he was …
The author seems to be a good amount of research and you can feel the Islands come to life, the characters are built up so after reading a couple of her books you feel like you know them. Good murder/detective crime solving books.
Toby Neal is one of my favorite authors. Good stories on the Hawaiian islands.
Great writer
This story seemed like it needed a good editor. It had too many mundane exercise scenes, descriptions of people taking showers, and the clothes they were wearing. If it’s not important to the story, as a reader I don’t really need to be reminded constantly of how fit and clean the main characters are or what their exercise gear looks like. There …
I’ve read so many of the Toby Neal books…I’ve yet to find one that I didn’t enjoy. You develop a picture of the landscapes of Hawaii as you read.
Great mystery novel! Unusual plot line!
Interesting story, great novel.
Love the description of the islands. Great character. will continue to read more about Lei.
Love Toby Neak books. Always great reading.
