This isn’t just another case. This is family. How far will Stephanie Plum go to protect the one person who means the most to her? The stakes have never been higher in this #1 New York Times bestseller from Janet Evanovich.Grandma Mazur has decided to get married again – this time to a local gangster named Jimmy Rosolli. If Stephanie has her doubts about this marriage, she doesn’t have to worry for … marriage, she doesn’t have to worry for long, because the groom drops dead of a heart attack 45 minutes after saying, “I do.”
A sad day for Grandma Mazur turns into something far more dangerous when Jimmy’s former “business partners” are convinced that his new widow is keeping the keys to a financial windfall all to herself. But the one thing these wise guys didn’t count on was the widow’s bounty hunter granddaughter, who’ll do anything to save her.

I have read all the books in this series. I particularly enjoyed this one
as it involves my favorite character “grandma”. She is hysterical.
Another dose of Stephanie Plum silliness. This one had a bonafide mystery–finding “the keys,” and gave rise to the next chapter…what the keys are for, in #27. Can’t wait!
I love all of the Stephanie Plum series
Good book, though these later books don’t have the intensity, in either danger or humor, that the earlier books had. Be that as it may, it was still a fun read. At the end of the previous book, Grandma Mazur eloped with one of her senior citizen boyfriends. Unfortunately for her, the marriage lasted all of 45 minutes before her groom, Jimmy Rosolli, a local gangster, dropped dead of a heart attack.
Grandma finds herself the target of some unwanted attention. Jimmy’s former business partners, an aging gang known as The La-Z-Boys, believe that Jimmy entrusted her with the secret of The Keys, and they want them back. Jimmy’s sisters are convinced that Grandma is a gold-digger, and make their displeasure known in various ways. And one of Jimmy’s ex-wives believes that she has more right to Jimmy’s estate than Grandma does. How far are any of them willing to go to get what they want?
Now, on top of her bounty hunter duties, Stephanie has become Grandma’s bodyguard. The best thing she can do is find the keys and end the threat. But this is Stephanie Plum, and nothing ever goes smoothly for her. There is plenty of fun with the usual zaniness that surrounds her. She has a relatively successful run of catching bail-jumpers, though not without challenges. Lula is always ready to aid and abet, and her antics contribute to some laugh-out-loud moments. She loses a car to a self-inflicted car bombing. Her love life is still complicated, though Morelli seems to have the inside track in this book. Ranger has his moments, and his simple “Babe” can convey so many different things. It was interesting to see Morelli and Ranger work together to keep Stephanie and Grandma safe – a somewhat uneasy partnership, but an effective one.
The central theme of Grandma and The Keys was pretty well done. It was fun to see more of Grandma in this book as she always livens things up. Stephanie’s attempts to find out more about the keys led her down some twisted paths. The La-Z-Boys were occasionally amusing, more frequently creepy, and at the end, downright scary. The final confrontation was intense. I liked that both Stephanie and Grandma had no intention of giving in to panic. Stephanie’s actions were great and reminded me somewhat of the first book. The story of the keys isn’t entirely resolved, as a final twist in the story looks like a lead-in for the next book.
One thing I found unusual about this book is the depth of Stephanie’s dissatisfaction with her life and work. She’s had moments in previous stories, but she seems more serious about it here. It will be interesting to see if she takes it further in the future.
I have been reading this series since the beginning and I loved it. There have been times when Stephanie’s inability to commit to one of the men in her life has gotten old, but the humor in these books kept me coming back. The characters are great. While Stephanie can’t form a permanent relationship, she doesn’t give up when it comes to tracking down a skip. Lulu personality is terrific and the character reminds me a tiny bit of an old friend of mine. Her attitude and style always get a giggle. My favorite character is Grandma Mazur. She is the star of this book (and possible the next). She isn’t afraid of anyone and when she is a bit concerned she carries her big purse, the one that fits her gun. I read this book in one setting, minus the car trip home in the dark, and I didn’t want to finish it in the morning. Now I wait, somewhat patiently, for the next book in the series.
Not your typical Stephanie Plum book. This one is a bit philosophical and emotional, not two things you normally associate with this usually lighthearted series. Still, it’s always nice to spend a few hours with Stephanie.
Another great Stephanie Plum series book! Grandma Mazur can sure get herself in a mess, not the least of which involves marrying a mob boss that dies on their honeymoon. So is Jimmy rich and where are the elusive keys and what are they to? All the fun they have running from the mob and others bent on finding keys leads Stephanie on another adventure. But her bail bond hunting was semi-successful this time but those adventures are always hilarious. Not to mention 2 sexy guys, Joe and Ranger, and Bob
Did not think that Janet Evanovich could pull off another great book but she did. Loved it- especially the parts about Grandma & Lula.
Highly recommend.
I’ve followed all of the Plumb series, and all have been entertaining and fun to read.
Five stars aren’t enough! Stephanie goes the distance again to solve the crimes and get the bad guys. Grandma Mazur shows a deep, thoughtful side. I’ve just finished reading Stephanie Plum’s 1 through 26 (just came out). The numbered books are my regular annual read-through at Advent. Can’t wait to pre-order #27, Fortune and Glory! Thank you, Janet Evanovich.
“This isn’t another case. This is family.” This. This is 100% exactly how I feel about this book and this series. It’s family.

Janet Evanovich takes on another wild adventure with the family in this latest Stephanie Plum novel, Twisted Twenty-Six. This time it isn’t just about her crazy cases, although there’s no shortage of that either, this time – it’s personal. Grandma Mazur is being targeted by… well, everyone. There are quite a few shady characters out there wishing this sassy Grandma harm over something she has zero knowledge of. Let’s see, there’s the mob, the sisters of her late husband of 45 minutes, said late husband’s ex-wife and daughter. The list goes on, and it’s up to Stephanie to figure it out before it’s too late!

I absolutely and without a doubt loved reading Twisted Twenty-Six! The dialogue and flawless transition from one moment to the next were on point. The imagery and descriptions of scenes, characters, and feelings were like no other. Once you get sucked into the world of Stephanie Plum, each subsequent novel is like visiting with an old friend, with family. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Janet Evanovich. Having read every one of the Stephanie Plum novels and the Lizzy & Diesel novels, I can say this – Twisted Twenty-Six isn’t one to be missed! It’s a must-read! I was laughing out loud more times than I can count!

By the end, I was tearing up at how much I enjoyed this book and wished I could share it with my Grandma. This story, this series, is incredibly important to me for so many reasons. I’ve always loved reading, but reading this series with my Grandma is what truly made me fall in love with reading. So many memories and happy conversations tied around this series (as well as others down the road) and which actors we thought would do this series justice, etc. I miss her more than I can ever put into words. I pre-ordered this book before it came out, knowing that it would be hard to read and that I wasn’t going to read it right away. I was waiting for the right moment. December 19th would have been her 73rd birthday, but she passed away three years ago while I was pregnant with our third child (who also happens to share her middle name). Happy Birthday, Grandma, this one’s s for you.

I 100% rated this five-stars and would highly recommend to everyone, especially those who are already familiar with the Stephanie Plum series. Twisted Twenty-Six is the perfect next installment to the previous twenty-five and the between-the-numbers holiday novellas. If you’re looking for an edge-of-your-seat crime thriller, this one may not be for you. BUT, if you’re looking for a highly entertaining read about a bounty hunter, her ex-ho partner-in-crime, her on-again-off-again cop boyfriend, her sex-on-a-stick badass mysterious mentor bounty hunter, and her small-town Burg living family with their too-sassy-for-her-own-good grandmother than look no further!

I love the Stephanie Plum series, and I have laughed out loud at least once in every book! The dialogue often catches me off guard! An easy read.
This is my favorite author and I love all her books and this was no different.
It was her usual fantastic book! You didn’t want to put it down! But then you didn’t want it to end!
I enjoy this series. This one was cute, and the characters were back in form. I agree some of the last books were lacking a bit – but hey. It happens. Stephane was up to her old tricks. They consume massive amounts of food and the antics were funny.
I’m a Plum fan – what a ditz!
I enjoy this series and have read every one of them, including this one. If your looking for a light, funny, entertaining book these might be for you too. You’ve got to love grandma!
I am never disappointed. I laugh out loud. Sometimes I cry. I worry for her. I think she’s ridiculous sometimes. I love these reads. Keep them coming, Janet!
Costco Pizza goes well with Janet Evanovich’s TWISTED TWENTY-SIX, even mushrooms for the crazy guy on the roof. 😉 I thoroughly enjoyed this book, a perfect blend of silly and thoughtful. Who knew Grandma Mazur was so introspective and philosophical? She’s a fun grandma, with some good insights, as Stephanie deals with life’s ongoing challenges and decisions. Should she find other work? What is her passion? Does she have one. It’s good that I did my chores yesterday, as I was immersed in this book today.
Janet Evanovich’s STEPHANIE PLUM has a job to do – bring in fugitives before her bail bonds company loses money. This is the twenty-sixth book in this addictive laugh-aloud series and as always a treat. Always a fun read!
