The MUST READ book for 2019
Twisted Pride is book three in the Camorra series by Cora Reilly and by far my most favourite read of 2019! This book has everything in it that I’ve come to expect from Cora…..a good Mafia story with amazing characters, well rounded story itself that flows, violence….because well durh this is a Mafia story….and my absolute favourite part, the forbidden love
Serafina is kidnapped on her wedding day by the Camorra, but everything isn’t as it seems and neither is Remo! I loved learning more about Remo and more about the dynamics between him and his brothers but also the unfolding story around him and Serafina I lack the descriptive words to voice just how profound this story is and how it’s touched me but I will say it’s magnificent and is the best book of 2019 in my opinion so far
Thank you to Cora for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review and I look forward to more about Nino and Savio next
Remo is the ruthless Capo of the Camorra, his cruelty knows no boundaries and he is determined to eliminate the Outfit at all costs. Serafina is known and admired for her beauty and pride, the prized possession of the Outfit. Remo devises a perfect plan to ruin his enemies and humiliate them but he hasn’t taken into account that Serafina is nothing like the women he knows.Serafina is a true queen to his ruthless king and no one can predict the outcome of their dangerous game of chess! Will their pride become their downfall? Remo meets his match in Twisted Pride, and his story is filled with passion and beauty! Serafina is worthy of him, she may look fragile but she has resilience and Remo can’t help but be fascinated by her and admire her! Remo is a complicated man, feared and respected but Serafina sees through his facade and goes against everything she’s been taught for his sake. I loved Remo and Serafina, their story is unforgettable and breathtaking!
I think I finally found my favourite CR book. I have been a fan of Remo for 3 books and I absolutely adored Serafina right from the start. There’s nothing that will get or keep me invested in a book than a “I hate everyone but you” character and a take no prisoner or nonsense coming together. I needed this. I didn’t know I needed it until I had it.
2nd time reading this book and what a fun ride it was! Remo is a fantastic anti-hero. He is not the easiest character to love. He is a mix of intelligence, cruelty, harshness, barely restrained fury, loyalty and principles. His only weakness is his family.
He decides to kidnap Serafina, the nice of Dante Cavallaro, the Chicago Outfit boss because he is aware that emotional warfare is so much more destructive that normal war tactics.
He expects a beautiful but submissive and boring girl. What he gets is an intelligent, beautiful, proud, strong woman. She is his perfect counterpart. And as he goes about conquering her, she does the same to him.
I loved every minute of this book. The angst was exquisite. The plot twist so good. This book is definitely worth the hype. Highly recommend!
4.8 stars
I like how much intense this book was, the bond between Fina and Sam is everything.
Serafina was so strong during the whole book I understand and support her choices.
Remo is story about himself, his unconditional love for his brothers, all the sacrifices he needed to do for them really warms my heart.
SPECIAL MENTION TO MY GIRL KIARA WHO EVOLVED. I LOVED THE WAY SHE STAND UP FOR FINA AND HOW SHE WAS HER BIGGEST SUPPORT.
About Remofina they love each other unconditionally.
Remo love Fina enough to let her go. And she sacrificed everything for him and their children.
Their story was messy, impossible, cruel but real.
OBSESSED. These Camorra stories keep getting better and better. Of course, Nino and Kiara will forever hold my heart, but Remo and Serafina gave them a total run for their money – and while Nino and Kiara’s tale is all slow, tender, and gentle, Remo and Serafina’s story is an explosive volcano. Volatile, emotional, intense, and sexy- fire and ice. It is just explosive.
What I love about this story is that Cora is putting the way she’s defined the genre on it’s head. Don’t get me wrong- I love her formula, and I’d read it over and over again, but this book defies the world she’s established. Remo, our mafia man, is a far cry from the structured and disciplined stoicism of Dante or Luca, nor the cold pragmatism of Nino- he’s fire. Brutal, unpredictable, crazy- he’s breaks all the rules because he’s an emotional powder keg- he can erupt at any point, and you never know who is going to strike the match. His overt passion is refreshing- even if it manifests as mild insanity at first, but Serafina calls to that passion. And she, too, breaks the Cora mold- she’s the ice queen, the mafia princess who has gone from one cage to another. But unlike some of our other heroines (whom I LOVE), she has more edge, more brass. She’s also strong, demanding, and she goes toe to toe with the craziest mafia boss we’ve met yet. And she conquers him- only he conquers her too.
The narrative of this story is more sprawling than the other stories, which means we’re treated to a more complex relational progression and leaves the window for more twists and turns- plus, bonus, we get to see some of our other characters grow and evolve during this time, too. These two are prideful, arrogant in places, resistant- the ultimate battle for emotional power, only they both lose to each other. And when they do- oh my. Their chemistry is straight fire. The best, though, is watching these two grow and evolve as the result of their unexpected and complicated connection. Remo in particular is just DREAMY- watching his heart beat again, seeing this hardened and threatening man love is just so swoon worthy. We’ve seen him protect his brothers- so we know the emotional capacity of this man- but even then , he blows us away.
Sweet, sexy, dangerous, and totally addictive. I love being consumed by the mafia world Cora has created at any time, but this is certainly one of her best. Luca and team better watch out- the Camorras are stealing the show.
The only people who could save us only wanted to save one of us and see the other drown, but we were entangled. One of us would have to let go first to reach the surface.”
Wow. This book is probably one of my fave books ever. Cora Reilly created an intoxicating and amazing world with the Camorra Chronicles and Twisted Pride is the cherry on top. This book is the third installment in the series and follows Remo Falcone and Serafina Vitiello and their whereabouts after the first kidnaps her.
I had a really good time reading this book because it was extremely addicting and fascinating. Remo has a really complex personality and Serafina is a bold heroine, yet strong. Both are fire together and I love seeing far they were willing to go for each other. The chemistry, the banter, everything between these two was amazing and I love seeing glimpses of the other characters and families.
The camorra universe is complex, fascinating and disturbing as it is, but Cora Reilly knows how to build up the tension and the complex family dynamics.
The story is fast paced and you see yourself immersed in this world, with this characters and you don’t want to ever leave. I highly recommend this book and this series if you love mafia romance because this is a must and it’s one of Cora’s best books ever.
6 AMAZING STARS
Let me just say that this book stole my heart in many different ways and I can’t even describe how much in love I am when it comes to this book. Everything about this book is just *chef kiss* and I can’t help but fall in love more and more every single time I turned the next page. You know, I’m a sucker for dark captive romance and this book gives me exactly what I need so it’s totally a major win for me. Not gonna lie, but this book got me hooked from the first page until the last and I was able to finish everything in just one seating. Basically, the entire story took place after Remo decided to kidnap Serafina during her wedding day so that she could later be exchanged with Scuderi in order to execute a revenge over him. However, he didn’t expect that his plan will take another turn instead.
Now, let’s talk about the characters. First of all, Remo Falcone has been my favourite Falcone ever since I read Twisted Loyalties. I have been intrigued with his character so I have been anticipating his book while reading the previous books. When I finally read Twisted Pride, I can’t help but simp over him like crazy. I thought I couldn’t love him even more, but I was clearly wrong. All I can say that Remo Falcone is basically the best capo. brother. brother in law. husband. & father. He’s literally the best and if you read the entire series especially this book, then you will know why. Whereas for Serafina, I completely adore her. She’s perfect for Remo in every way because she’s extremely strong, sassy, selfless, kind, and many more. On the other hand, the relationship between these two is like an inferno where their chemistry & dynamic are indescribable. Just by reading their interactions, we can feel how much they attracted to one another but tried their best not to.

All I can say about this book is that it was greatly written where we got to read the perspectives of Remo & Serafina. Not only that, we got to see their real character & personalities. There are a couple of times where my heart got broken while reading this book because the amount of angst was perfectly given. I seriously loved the entire storyline because everything was developed extremely well so I got to really connect with the entire story & characters. Not only that, but I also enjoyed the way Cora wrote about the conflict that was happening throughout the entire book. Even more, what I loved about this series is that we got to see the closeness of the Falcone brothers, and having a chance to read from Remo’s POV made it so much better.

Overall, this book owns my entire heart and soul which hands down become my all time favourite book by Cora. I seriously think Cora outdid this book and she had done an excellent job delivering Remo & Serafina’s story. If you still haven’t read the book then please do! I totally recommend you to read this book but it would be much better if you read the previous two books first.

when I started this series I didn’t know that Born in Blood series was related so my first book was Twisted Loyalties and when I met Remo he annoyed me but in a good way he frustrated me I closed the book and searched whether he has a book or not, after I finished TL I jumped directly to Twisted Pride, I wanted to see all that ruthless against the woman he craves.
This book is a written chess game, and if you don’t know the key of the game let me tell you this.
“In the chess board, the most important piece is the Queen, when the queen dies the king follow because the Queen piece protects her king.”
We see Serafina’s fate turning upside down when Remo crashes her wedding and hold her captive. The Outfit ice princess didn’t cower in front the cruel monster of Vegas, all she did was stood there and promise him that she’s bringing him to his knees, sooner or later.
the dynamic back and forth between Remo and Serafina was delicious, the chemistry was outstanding and enjoyed every second of it, the growth of the characters and how Serafina dominated Remo fully, emotionally and mentally.
Then the checkmate? The Queen made her move and saved her King and family but in this game no one lost yes this play went through so much tension, struggle, frustration and anger but the win was worth it.
this is my all time favorite book and this scene is my absolute favorite, the goosebumps

I’ve been waiting on Remo’s book for so long! He was the one I was the most curious about and honestly it did not disappoint, he is so peeeeeerfect, and handsome and awesome and did I sat perfect? Because oh my god he is! He became my absolutely favorite, I know he’s a bit of an asshole but who doesn’t love a bad boy? The thing that I love the most about him is his loyalty I mean the man is FIERCE when it came to protect his family and the camorra and I love that so much on a character. Now speaking about Serafina, I honestly wasn’t expecting a lot from her because I just wanted Remo in my life but I really liked her character she is a super strong, loyal and fierce women I was 100% impress by her. And I LOVED her as a mom how hard she fought for her son and daughter to have what they deserve! Honestly mad respect for these women. She and Remo are so perfect for each other both so fierce a loyal when it came to their families. Fina was defiantly and amazing addition to the Falcone’s loooove her banter with Savio so much and her pal relationship with Leona and Kiara. And lastly I cannot wait to know more about Nevio and Greta, Cara Mia she is going to be so sweet and beautiful and Remo’s greatest loveeee omg I can’t, when she finally didn’t cry when he carried her my heart was so full and happy for my favorite Capo! Loved this book so much, and can’t wait for what’s to come!
I absolutely loved this book! Remo and Serafina are two of my favourite characters in this series and I can’t get enough. I have read this book at least 6 times over in the last year. I want more!
This has to be one of my favorite Cora Reilly books, and Cora has written some fantastic books. I loved how strong-willed Serafina was. She refused to bend to Remo’s ways and fought back; she showed Remo that there were different kinds of strength and that not all strength comes from being able to throw a punch. And Remo, oh Remo, he has to be the most complex yet captivating character Cora has ever written. The character growth in this book was phenomenon, and the writing style was just perfect. Cora’s writing style has sincerely improved since Bound by Honor, and she keeps getting better and better. Although there are a few grammatical errors in this book, they are not big enough to distract the reader. Something happens towards the end of this book that made this fantastic book even more memorable. But you will have to read it for yourself to find out. Although I wish we had gotten to see this couple after they got together, the ending was a bit abrupt, and I felt like I needed a bit more. However, I feel like Cora always leaves you with a feeling of wanting more with all her books, and I love it. I would recommend this book to those who love mafia romance, strong female characters, big families, and more. Note: It can be read as a standalone, but I would read the previous two books to avoid spoilers.
Twisted pride is definitely my favorite out of all the Camorra books. This book was full amazing and crazy emotions especially having Remo as a main character. The steamy romance moments and unpredictable moments. The love and union of these two are such a great combo.
I loved this book. Overhearing what was going to happen in the prier book, I couldn’t wait to read it. I loved the characters and the family. I loved Serafina and her brother!!
This book kept me on my feet, I finished it so quick, within a few hours. Loved every second of it. I loved how the characters grew along with the story. I love the heroine, I loved how she stayed strong. I felt myself smiling towards the end a lot.
I recommend this book!!! It’s my favorite from this author.
I have read every mafia book by Cora Reilly and though I adore them all, this one in particular is my top favorite! Remo and Serafina have such an amazing love story. There’s kidnapping and torture and sex and passion; this book will take you on a wild ride!
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE MAFIA BOOK EVER!
Goodness after about 10 re-reads I am still not over this one. So this review is going to be me majorly fangirling!
This is the 3rd installment in Cora Reilly’s The Camorra Chronicles. It tells the story of Chicago outfit’s girl Serafina & the Camorra’s capo Remo Falcone.
Remo Falcone is ruthless. He is brutal. He rules over Vegas with an iron fist. He has no compassion for anybody beyond his family. And when the Outfit breached his territory and almost harmed his family, he is not going to stay quite. So he makes the perfect plan to seek revenge. It was quite simple, kidnap Dante’s niece on her wedding day and bring the whole outfit down to their knees. But he will soon realise the girl he has kidnapped is not an easy prey.
Serafina Mione is the princess of The Outfit. She is brought up to be the perfect wife and mother. She carries her image with grace and poise. Now she is set to marry the guy she has been promised to since childhood. But fate brings her at mercy of the most brutal man in the mafia world, Remo Falcone. She is courageous and is determined to keep her pride but she never accounted for her heart!
This is a beautiful tale of two imperfect people finding each other amidst the unlikely circumstances. These two are undoubtedly the best characters written by Cora. She captured the subtle nuances of their personalities so beautifully.
The chemistry between them was palpable from the start. It began to grow further as the story progressed. They both uncovered each other’s layers and accepted each other as it is. Remo helped Serafina find her wings and Serafina found the light behind Remo’s darkness.
This one will stay with me forever! How am I supposed to move on now?
While I go and read it again a 11th time, you all should go and pick this up right now!
I really liked this book. The plot and how things turned out is everything I have been looking for in a mafia book.
We start with Remo, he’s a difficult character, he’s so caught up in his emotions that I think he loses himself in it. Then there is Serafina, who really plays on his emotions, which I don’t blame her giving the position she was in with Remo, but I think as soon as Remo experienced it, he got addicted. He is the Capo of Las Vegas, no one would dare to treat him in such a way. Which is why I think it’s great to find someone who is battling your emotions and pushing their way through for you. I think that’s why Remo had such a hard time letting Serafina go.
It was a beautifully composed book, with the hardship that lived on both side and family love, both characters fought for each other.
Here we have the book the more we have the most wonderful and perfect written by her. When the author said it was the most complex, she did not imagine that the emotional burden would be so great and that the message would be so clear.
Remus Falcone is insane even to those who live with him, and his atrocities are not only physical but the guy is a master of the art of manipulating and destroying the emotional structures of his opponents. Whoever sees Capo in Las Vegas has no idea what he has been able to do to care for those he loves most, his brothers.
The book is perfect, engaging, and makes us increasingly love this sickly madman named Remo Falcone. For me, it surpassed any of the protagonists ever created by the author, for her love, delivery, care and protection. As he crumbles all the walls of Outfit’s pride and arrogance, he instills in Serafina the feelings of freedom and free will. Every day beside her, the changes were meticulously made and calculated to serve her interests, which he did not count on discovering in his angel all that he believed did not exist in a woman, so the admiration became his own. daily company and the spell turned against the sorcerer.
Throughout this series we have seen the Falcone brothers being feared by everything and everyone. One of the things that intrigues me most about this series is the dynamics of them all as a family. They are dangerous, deadly, but their loyalty and love is one of the highlights of this book. I love to see the dynamics between these four brothers above all and here we can see a little more of that.
Twisted Pride is a book full of action, blood, loyalty and why not romance too. The story of rowing and seraphine has it all so much more, a book that left me wanting more of this family.
I’ve been waiting for this book like crazy I swear. Every day my excitement grew more and more and to some extent I thought I would be disappointed when I read it because often the more excited you are about a book the more it disappoints you. This book begins with a desire for revenge. after remo and his brothers were attacked on his own territory, he is eager for revenge. it was really interesting to get into the head and thoughts of a perverted person like Remo. He has a lot more of things in it. He’s twisted, loyal to the core and pain and death doesn’t scare him.
Serafina looks like an proud ice princess, but behind all this lies a cheerful kind and loving girl. She is one of the most courageous and courageous heroines. I especially loved her relationship with her twin brother they trust each other care and will die for each other.
when remo kidnaps serafina he is sure that she can be broken very easily. But he couldn’t be more wrong. He expects her to beg for mercy fear and submission but Serafina refuses to obey him, she does not show her fear and retains her pride. From their first encounter, there is an undeniable sexual tension between them.
She is ice and he is flame. Gradually, without realizing it, they open up to each other and between Remo and Serafina there is something more than just a physical attraction. There are strong feelings between them despite the brutality and war.
There’s so much going on in the book, it’s very intense and intriguing and breathtaking. I loved every word. Cora did something incredible again.
** spoiler alert ** An amazing enemies to lovers mafia book. I loved Remo from the previous Camora books and so was excited to read his book. Where Nino is cold Remo was fire so I new the women he’d be with had to be equally as passionate and strong and Serafina did not disappoint. I loved that she stood up to him inspite her being kidnapped and I liked that we didn’t have a situation of the immediate body betrayed/mindless (which I don’t like) , instead the attraction and chemistry was there and but it was done in a way that I liked and flowed naturally.
Great read and really well written

I lovveeeedddd how remo was with his children honestly just swoon x1000
