Lucas Davenport confronts an old nemesis, now a powerful U.S. senator, in this thrilling #1 New York Times-bestselling new novel in the Prey series.Lucas Davenport had crossed paths with her before.A rich psychopath, Taryn Grant had run successfully for the U.S. Senate, where Lucas had predicted she’d fit right in. He was also convinced that she’d been responsible for three murders, though he’d … she’d been responsible for three murders, though he’d never been able to prove it. Once a psychopath had gotten that kind of rush, though, he or she often needed another fix, so he figured he might be seeing her again.
He was right. A federal marshal now, with a very wide scope of investigation, he’s heard rumors that Grant has found her seat on the Senate intelligence committee, and the contacts she’s made from it, to be very…useful. Pinning those rumors down was likely to be just as difficult as before, and considerably more dangerous.
But they had unfinished business, he and Grant. One way or the other, he was going to see it through to the end.

Any “Prey” book by John Sanford is worth reading. Excellent use of the language. Gripping. Great characters (good and evil!). All his Virgil Flowers books are equally as entertaining!
Well written with interesting protagonist and villains. Love the Lucas Davenport series!
3-1/2 stars. Not one of Sandford’s best efforts but still fun to read.
One of our favorite authors.
Fantastic Novel. Mr. Sandford at his best!
I enjoyed this one just like the others in the Prey series. I loved that he brought Grant back! Can’t wait for the next in the series.
John Sanford is one of my favorite writers. His Prey series books are always a great read.
I had not read the last two Lucas Davenport books so was lokking forward to the two. They did not disappoint. So glad he’s been given a new job and title. This should keep him around for a long time. Can’t wait for the next one!
Love James Sanford
Sandford never fails to deliver! If you want to be entertained, engrossed, and just experience a good read, Twisted Prey delivers.
One of Sanford’s best! Kept me on the edge of my seat, had numerous plot twists & an explosive, satisfying conclusion. Really enjoyed reading it!
Great book again – can’t put down
I love everything Sanford writes, but I would have to. Say this is not his best. It’s very comfortable to read.
Not as good as other PREY novels…
AWESOME, CAN’T PUT DOWN
This was action packed. It started with a Senator’s car going over a steep embankment toward a river. No one will believe the Senator that someone purposely ran him off the road. Enter Marshall Davenport and things really stat being exciting. There are several political people involved and some have plans to have their peers taken out. I read the book in 2 days because I had to see what happened. The ending was a little surprising, but good.
Lucas Davenport as a U.S. Marshal in Washington, DC. Not as much private life and family as I like in his earlier books, but a good police procedural.
I Always enjoy the latest Lucas Davenport novel. Now that Lucas is working for the US Marshals service he gets to take his own brand of justice on the road instead of just confined to Minnesota. This story is a good thriller with a lot of action. A must-read for all Lucas Davenport fans.
A great read, Sandford never disappoints.
Usual good Sanford book. Lucas is main focus and little contact with the family, but some others get more face time in this book.
