My future was about to be completely thrown off track because Della Sloane was under my skin, and I had to have her. I couldn’t ignore it anymore. . . . I’d gotten close enough to her to see deeper. Della Sloane is not your average girl. Yearning to break free of her dark and sheltered past, and the memories of the illness that claimed her mother, Della plans a solo road trip to experience real … trip to experience real life on her own terms. But the trip is nearly cut short in the little beach town of Rosemary when she realizes she can’t even pump her own gas–until Woods Kerrington shows up, more than willing to help out a pretty girl in need.
Woods’s family wants him to settle down with a wealthy woman in pearls, but he can’t resist this carefree girl in cutoffs passing through town. A one-night stand should have been enough, but months later, Woods can’t get the irresistible Della out of his head.
When a twist of fate brings Della back to Woods, all signs point to trouble if they don’t keep their distance. Neither is truly free, and a relationship could destroy both of them. With their hearts on the line, Della thinks the safest bet is to walk away. But Woods isn’t about to let that happen…

I really enjoyed “Twisted Perfection” by Abbi Glines. This book is a continuation of the storyline we’ve seen so far in the series but is our first shift into one of the secondary characters. It doesn’t disappoint. This book is so well written and the characters very engaging. I’ve already fallen in love with these characters. If you haven’t read this series, you need to do yourself a favor and pick up these books. This is a long-running series with 13 books. You won’t regret it – they are a great addition to your book collection.
Happy Reading…Enjoy!
“Not everyone sees you the way you do. Sometimes our imperfections are what makes us special.”
Awh Woods baby, you finally found your match.
This is part 1 of a duet and I do recommend also reading the “Too Far” trilogy before this duet, however it isn’t necessary.
Woods Kerrington, heir to the fortune of the Rosemary Beach Golf Club where the wealthy play. He’s been bought up his whole life to take over the club with the catch of an arranged marriage to hotel heiress, Angelina Greystone. That is until one fateful one night stand with a Della Sloane, which puts his life plans on a complete flip.
Della Sloane grew up thinking she was lonely and not “normal”. With deep dark emotional secrets, she was on a road trip to find herself. Only what she didn’t expect was to find her heart in the hands of a lost wealthy man.
Woods needs Della like Della needs Woods. They can’t stay away from each other and soon, find themselves relying on each other more than they should. The relationship does get a bit toxic with Della depending on Woods to bring her out of her panic attacks and take her away from her nightmares. Woods is so amazingly supportive but I did wish Della was more independent on realising she needed professional help. Not just Wood’s.
Fortunately there is a happy ending, but also a cliffhanger which makes you want to jump right into part 2 of the duet.
4/5 Stars with a 4/5 Steam rating.
Twisted Perfection was the first Abbi Glines book I read before I realized it was part of a series. I love re-reading and re-visiting Woods and Della’s story. The chemistry between Della and Woods was undeniable from the moment they first met. Both come from extremely different “worlds” and upbringing. While Woods grew up privileged, Della grew up as if she was a prisoner in her own home. Yet, these two characters both are faced with difficult family situations that have caused them to sacrifice their own lives. This story addressed sensitive subjects, including mental illness, suicide and PTSD.
Love the connection these two people have.
This is the first book of the Perfection series which is a spin-off of Abbi’s Rosemary Beach series. I was apprehensive to read this because I was disappointed in Forever Too Far but I LOVE this book and I may even love Woods more than Rush!! Told from dual Pov’s, Della meets Woods on her way to “find her life.” Della has been burned one to0 many times and needs a new start. Her coworker arranges for her to stay at his condo and work for his cousin, Who’s Tripp’s cousin?… Yup! It’s Woods. ANGST! ANGST! ANGST! It’s been a long time since my heart has ached at two characters interactions. Even though Woods and Della are attracted to each other, his obligations to his father get in the way. I can’t wait to read book two because I feel there is so much left for these two.
After a chance meeting they know they have chemistry, but Della doesn’t want to be used and Woods knows what he has to do to get where he wants in life, which doesn’t include Della. Woods can’t get Della out of his mind, and after seeing her again when she turns away from him, not wanting to be used. When you think they have a chance at happiness, Della is forced to see her demons again and knows she will never be good enough for Woods.
With Della fighting her demons and finding her place in the world, Woods has to deal with his family and what they want him to be and have everything set out for him. Woods and Della have a lot to battle against to get their happiness.
Are you kidding me?!?!?!
I couldn’t put this book down! It had the perfect combination of sweetness, heat and drama! Bring on part 2!!!
Loved every minute of this story, Della and Woods are two of my favorite characters from the series! Very touching and captivating read!
