Twisted Kingdom is book three of Royal Elite Series and should be read after Deviant King & Steel Princess. This is a dark high school bully romance, mature new adult, and contains dubious situations that some readers might find offensive.
This book is the final part of a trilogy and is NOT standalone.more
“ Are you ready for one last game sweetheart?”
I cant believe its over , Aiden and Elsa’s story has finally come full circle and what a ending ! This trilogy is one I’ve been invested in since the beginning and I am sad that it has ended but I think the ending was perfect . We finally meet Elsa’s dad at the end of Steel Princess we find out he is alive , so it starts out where it ended . Truths are learned , secrets revealed this was definitely a page turner and the writing was flawless, execution was perfect and the character development was spot on , I can’t go more into the story without giving anything away but if you love a high school bully romance with a romantic suspense twist to it than this is the story for you !!! I absolutely adore anything by Rina Kent she is a very creative and talented author and I have loved every single book I have read by her and I’ve read them all but this trilogy will always be my favorite ! Can’t wait to read Xander and Kimberly’s story next in this Royal Elite series ! BRING IT ONNN !!!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book ***
“Run and I’ll chase. Hide and I’ll conquer. Time to make your move sweetheart.”
This entire trilogy + Cruel King has literally had me white knuckling my kindle & then throwing it across the room, nursing multiple book hangovers and becoming fully obsessed with all things Royal Elite.(I regret nothing)
Twisted Kingdom..GAH! The ending to Elsa & Aiden’s story was just EVERYTHING! We come full circle with these two all while navigating through broken memories, broken hearts, secrets, lies and one heck of an ending that I simply did not see coming. You go through it with A & E; every emotion…all the angsty goodness…their undeniable connection & an overall darkness that sucked me in from page one… SO GOOD! Honestly, I can’t get enough of this book world that Rina Kent has created for us & I’m so excited for what’s next from the Royal Elite
The final book to Aiden and Elsa’s story brings much more intimate details. This book was incredibly done and has satisfied my expectations.
Who was dead is alive now, the person who was supposed to love turns out to be a monster and the devil pursues to give safety and love. The author has smoothened the rough surfaces but before that this incredible series dumped dynamite among chapters.
I absolutely love Aiden and Elsa’s pairing. Rina Kent’s heroes are not insta-loved, they are a-hole, obsessive and deviantly scrumptious. I recommend Rina Kent’s books to bully romance lovers out there. Her books are dark.
Rating:
Long live the King and the Queen!
I knew this book would be good and it certainly lived up to my expectations. Aiden and Elsa’s story has been quite a roller coaster ride. From the beginning they stared at each other across a school yard and had a connection that couldn’t be ignored. At the end of the last book Jonathan, Aiden’s father had made it a point to destroy what they had, in his quest to get back at Elsa for the sins of her mother.
In addition to Jonathan’s manipulations, which destroy all trust Elsa had in Aiden, there is still a lot Elsa doesn’t know about what happened when they were kids because her memories have been returning to her very slowly. Aiden fears those revelations will turn her against him even more than Jonathan.
Elsa finds herself surrounded by new and different characters in this book, which was a great surprise. I liked that a lot about the book as well as the fact that the rest of the horsemen, Kim and the Elsa’s rival Silver are returned. The relationship between Aiden and Elsa is scorchingly hot and steamy. Their passion is beautiful, all consuming, and violent at times. It’s like they can’t control themselves and can’t get enough of one another.
The intimate scenes were sizzling and the connection Aiden and Elsa share is much deeper as we find out more about their childhoods. I love the way Rina Kent writes so that you can feel the need they have for each other and though Aiden is sometimes a possessive and Jealous prick, he really just wants to protect Ella. He also has an extremely dirty mind and has no problem with telling her his every dirty thought.
Aiden is such a compelling character. He is a sociopath but he controls himself for the most part. His mind is funny and the parts of the book told from his point of view are awesome. We get to see how he his brain works and also how he feels about Elsa and even about his friends and other students.
“A moment later, he strides in our direction. He smiles at me so wide, I’m tempted to cut his face open. The only reason I don’t is because Elsa would hate me even more.
Knight can still do it, though. With the right encouragement.
I tuck that idea for later.”
This book also sets up some of the next books in the series. I want to know more and find out who the rest of the horsemen will end up with and what is they mystery between Xander and Kim. I would almost think that Kim’s brother Kai is their son, but his age doesn’t add up. So I don’t know what is going on with them. I can’t wait to find out more.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
My mind is completely blown, and my heart is having palpitations like crazy, I’m not sure how the author keeps taking us to the edge of insanity then making all seem sane. This book may be the last of Elsa and Aiden’s story but Royal Elite are not done with us yet, with that being said this book picks up where Steel Princess left us with shocked faces and our mouths hanging wide open wondering what could happen next. Elsa just had some major things happen, not just her whole life but more recently after letting Aiden know she loves him. Aiden sees these turns of events as kind of an eye opener and he now realizes his normal tactics to get Elsa back won’t work, he’s going to have to do things differently, but he is willing to go to war for his Queen. With all the things we learn there is always a few questions we are still left with, things we need to know, and the author has a way of giving this story and still begging for more. Aiden and Elsa are perfect for each other and the more of the past we learn the more we understand so much more about Aiden and why he is the way he is. Aiden’s love for Elsa has been a constant battle but we learn so much about the past and when Elsa starts to figure it out she realizes she is just engrained in Aiden’s life as much as he is hers and she starts to see things a new light. I don’t want to give too much away but I love how much the author takes us to the edge in each book shows us how much we can guess or think we know about each character then she shoves us over the edge and lets us realize we know nothing and have so much to learn. These characters have a way of staying with us way after we read the books and I still have so many questions and things I want to know and with every book in the series I’m left craving more.
I was left with goosebumps after reading Steel Princess and anticipating Twisted Kingdom and Rina Kent delivered! Reading all of the different layers of Aiden, I swear I loved him even more. After the cliffhanger where Elsa’s dad comes back from the dead at the end of Steel Princess Aiden wasn’t going to let Elsa just walk out of his life and was determined to remind her who she belonged to.
I love Aiden and Elsa’s story I’m just so sad their books are done. This book was a tear jerker and emotional and I couldn’t put it down. If I thought Aiden was intense when he was a bully and you were his target then I hadn’t read anything yet when he was in love. These are two intense and their chemistry is off the charts and I am so happy with the outcome. This series has ben one of my favorites and I cannot wait to read more in this series!!
Wow! This conclusion to Aiden and Elsa’s story really packed a punch. I loved seeing a glimpse into Aiden’s vulnerable side. I didn’t think he had one. Elsa’s strength and determination prevailed even with all the blows she received. The flashbacks were well written and I felt myself falling more in love with the characters as the story went on. Another 5 star read by this talented author.
Sexy, alluring, intense. Twisted Kingdom had SO MUCH of everything. The drama peaked, the secrets were unveiled, the characters were at each other’s throats.
After that epic cliffhanger Rina left us with in Steel Princess, I have been dying to read Twisted Kingdom! I needed the next book like my next breath.. and Rina didn’t hold any punches.
Aiden and Elsa are imperfectly perfect. They are FIRE. Their pasts comes to light and their futures are up for grabs. But they never let go of each other and that flame only grows hotter between them.
Aiden has to be one of my FAVORITE heroes. He’s so possessive and intense but so caring and passionate. His dirty mouth kept me coming back for more. His and Elsa’s chemistry was off the charts and I couldn’t have loved it more.
I can’t wait to see what Rina comes up with next. I love this world!
I’m sad, because we are at the end of this fabulous trilogy of the Royal Elite series. I’ll miss Aiden and Elsa but at the same time I’m ecstatic tbecause we’ll get Cole, Xander and Ronan’s books and since I guess they’ll be set at RES as well, we’ll still get a glimpse of their life.
When I first read Deviant King, I thought Aiden was a psycho. Well, he still is a psycho sometimes, but he has his reasons and we finally got to experience his POV in Steel Princess. To say that I got attached to Aiden is an understatement. It’s like I also “fell” for this character like Elsa, because he is the type of character I am drawn too. Aiden is complex, unpredictable, raw. He is resolute when he wants something and seems ruthless and cold, but after he gets enamored with Elsa, he also shows a softer side that made me grin from ear to ear. I liked how the author showed us his evolution through the books and how we see a different Aiden in Twisted Kingdom, but not a completely different person. I mean, I think Aiden was always like he is in this book, but his past trauma compelled him to be detached and confident and unreachable. Thanks to Elsa, who, as he says, is his light in the darkness, he stopped going to a point of no return. Despite everything that they shared in the past and in the present when she came to RES the first time, Elsa was able to make him see that there is hope and that they have a strong bond that will help them face anything.
Speaking of which, in this book we had some issues to face, like what we learnt at the ending of Steel Princess and what it will mean for Elsa and Aiden as a couple.
After the last revelation, Elsa is set on not forgiving Aiden and go her own way, but she knows is hard. She is in love with Aiden and love doesn’t pass easily, especially the kind of love that Elsa feels for Aiden. She will try to be strong and show him that she can go on, but eventually, she realizes that she can’t run away from her feelings anymore. Compared to the first book, Elsa has grown as well. She used to be “frozen” and seemed like she didn’t want to try new things. She lived a boring life that her worried aunt created for her because of her heart condition, but when Aiden starts challenging her, she understands that wasn’t the life she wanted to live. Because of what happened in her past, Elsa was truly frozen. She missed a chunk of her memories and she wasn’t able to remember the reason why Aiden was so familiar and she was instantly attracted to him despite he caught her by the throat the second he saw her during her first year at RES. Elsa is more “lighter” than Aiden personality speaking, but she also has a dark side that she finally embraces and that only Aiden can ignite. She is smart and values herself more in this book, which means that she tries to decide for herself and not let other people decide for her, and that includes Aiden. Elsa always wondered if what she did with him was truly what she wanted or he was just manipulating her to give in. After everything she went through with Aiden, it’s normal she isn’t sure 100% about him, because she discovered many things along their journey, many reasons not to trust him. Yet, Elsa decides not to give up on him because she understands he feels the same for her, and she accepts that she loves Aiden and that craving his touch and is normal to want to have sex and feel the pleasure, even though sometimes it melts with pain.
Twisted Kingdom was an important journey for Aiden and Elsa and at the end of their story their relationship was solid. Even though Aiden will be Aiden and Elsa will be Elsa, they know that there isn’t anybody in the world they’d want to be with. They got through many things together and they didn’t give up on each other because they knew they were somehow destined to be together. Their shared past also strengthened their bond, but what the author made us see is that even before Elsa knew that she had already met Aiden, she loved him. The connection of their souls was tangible but it wasn’t just that to unite them. Aiden and Elsa are the type of couple who seems doomed from the start but it’s that very rawness and tension that keeps them together. They’re like magnets stuck together even though you try to divide them. I loved to read how their journey ended and loved how they end up in the epilogues (tbh it was just what I envisioned would happen, so I was even more satisfied).
This is one of those series that you’d re-read several times because it gives you different emotions every time. And the added bonus was also the halo of mystery surrounding the story of Elsa and Aiden’s parents, but not just that. You know I also loved the horsemen and the new characters like Teal and Knox. Speaking of Teal, I guess I suspect who will be her book partner. Xander and Kim’s book should be next and I can’t wait, considering all the pent up tension between them since Deviant King.
CAPTIVATING CHARACTERS, BRILLIANT PLOT AND AN AWESOME ENDING 🙂
Twisted Kingdom is the concluding book for AidenElsa story within the Royal Elite series. I am honored to get an ARC for the final book and going through the emotion rollercoaster with Aiden and Elsa. Honestly, I am really sad to let them go but I won’t lie to say they didn’t deserve the ending as it is. 🙂
“What do you want most in the world, Aiden?”
“You.” He doesn’t even miss a beat.
I smile. “What else?”
“You healthy and happy and f*cking mine.”
God. This man will be the death of me.
“What else?”
“That’s all.”
“That’s all?”
“Yes.”
Rina’s writing brings forth a great deal of emotions running through me while reading the final book. With Elsa’s forgotten past unravelled completely in this book, it relieved my previous deep curiosity but it also stirred heartache I have for the pair of young and tortured lovers.
“I don’t remember my dreams,” I tell the boy with grey eyes.
He pinches my cheek. “I’ll dream for the both of us.”
“Promise?”
“Promise, Elsa.”
In this final book, Aiden, true to his words, chooses Elsa over everything else. If that doesn’t make him the best hero of all time, I don’t know what will be.
“I chose you, Elsa.” He cuts me off, gripping the steering wheel so tightly, his knuckles turn white. “I chose you over my mother’s memory, my father, and everything I f*cking know.
Rina also lets in a little bit more on the side characters – Xander/Kim, Cole/Silver and perhaps Ronan/Teal??? in this book and I totally can’t wait for Ash’s story as well!
*REVIEW HEREON CONTAINS SPOILERS*
All in all, I am thrilled that Aiden and Elsa got their happily ever after, especially with the baby on the way. (PS, hopefully there will be a bonus scene on that.) <3
RATINGS (OUT OF 5):
• Overall: 5
• Storyline: 4.5 - I have a little issue with how the old King is suddenly able to accept everything despite his vindictive personality
• Hero / Heroine: 5 / 5
• Steam: 4
SAFETY:
• POV: Mainly from Aiden and Elsa's POV, but contains one chapter each from their fathers' POV
• Hero: Aiden King, In the final book, Aiden's POV provides more insights into his feelings and thinkings, completing the wholeness of the story as it develops. A lot of things he used to say or feel now makes sense as Elsa's past come to light. Honestly, he is the hero i love the most among all the books I have read. His protectiveness and his willingness to give up everything for Elsa is what I love most about him and he stood true to his words until the end. 🙂
• Heroine: Elsa Quinn, Her digging into her forgotten past brings out terrible truths she might not be able to come to terms with. Throughout book two, Elsa seems to have a violent nature tucked underneath her forgotten past, but I am glad that is not it. Hidden behind her past is the kindest person there could ever be, falling in love with a boy at that young age and even willing to sacrifice herself to save him. And the innocent and sweetest promise she had with Aiden....awwww it just made me all gooey!!
• Safe sex: Yes, heroine is on birth control until in epilogue 😉
• OM/OW: No
• Sexual acts with OM/OW: Happy to say NO
• Virgin: No, heroine's virginity taken by hero in book one
• Angst: Yes, due to uncovering of Elsa's past
• Possible Triggers: Child imprisonment and elements of torture
• Push/Pull: Yes, Elsa tried to push Aiden away thinking Aiden betrayed her trust and was engaged with Silver.
• Ending: HEA with epilogue set 3 years later
I received an ARC from author and this is an honest review because I love this series sooooo much!!
Thank you for creating AidenElsa and their love story, Rina <3
My Rating: 1/4
Type: Series. Trilogy- Book 3
Genre: Contemporary Fiction Romance, Bully Romances
Primary Characters: Aiden & Elsa
Narration: Dual POV
This is the final book in Aiden and Elsa’s roller coaster ride. This series has it all- darkness, intrigue, secrets, twists, turns, scorching chemistry, love-hate tension and angst galore.
I liked the journey in which Aiden and Elsa’s relationship will grow stronger and stronger. Elsa gradually remembers the instance from past. Aiden obsession for Elsa made sense. Aiden and Elsa are imperfectly perfect by accepting their true deviant nature. We get answers to several questions. Climax was sort of anticlimactic, yet it was justifying enough. I was hoping for some action, which was totally missing. I was sort of disappointed with that.
Plot is impressive. Narration is good. Flow of the book was slow in initially and picked up soon. Secondary characters were the highlight of this book. They were funny and appealing. Teal and Ronan were enticing. Cole is alluring. Xander and Kim are tantalizing to see the Mystery behind their story.
The epilogue concluded their story nicely. I cannot wait to unearth Cole’s Ruthless Empire. So I’m jumping straight to that before reading other books.

This trilogy is a MASTERPIECE! Rina Kent you did not disappoint me, in fact you abso-freaking-lutely EXCEEDED my EXPECTATIONS!
Kudos to the author for coming up with such a good plot with many twists but in the end answering ALL unanswered questions! That is something many authors can’t do and Rina has done it beautifully!
I must say I hardly get emotional when reading or rather I skip any over-the-top emotional books simply because who’d want to cry like a baby when there are 1000 other options which would make you smile, laugh, excited, basically anything but cry. This book is anything but a sappy romance but the couple’s childhood experiences sure brought tears to my eyes. It was done so well that this story’s been engraved to my heart. Their childhood is like a hybrid of a very beautiful fairytale and the darkest nightmare!
I love how the writer has given glimpses to their father’s heads as well, Johnathan and Ethan. Certain things made more sense that way.
However what I don’t get is the part where Aiden and Else goes back to where they met as children and get locked up in the same place for more than 36 hours (if I’m not mistaken) by a certain someone (I’m not gonna name names and spoil it for you) and they seem to let it go very quickly and easily. Hope it would have made more sense if a different action had been taken or at least the writer clarified in a way it made sense.
I listened to the audiobook and Shane East and Keira Stevens have done a wonderful job by bringing all these characters alive, including their childhood selves. This book opens up stories for a few other couples such as Ronan and Xan.
I fell in LOVE with this story and how dark and emotional it is! I still can’t shake these characters off my system and I’m not sure whether I’ll ever be able to. As soon as I was done with these 3 books I fell into a book slump. I wanted more and more of Aiden and Elsa!
Dear Rina your books have captured my heart for life!
That’s all I’m going to say!

PS: I’ve voluntarily read and reviewed this book
This book marks the end of Aiden & Elsa’s tale and what a beautiful end it was! From start to end this has been a rollercoaster ride.
The chemistry between these two was so intense. Their passion was palpable in every scene. Their connections run deeper than we initially might have thought. We get to see why there had always been a strong pull between those two. The revelation made me cry.
“Are you ready for one last game, sweetheart?”
Aiden King was such an amazingly written character through and through. He is a sociopath who has surely done some irredeemable things. I loved reading his point of view a lot.
Elsa’s life is taking huge turns in this book. New people have entered into her life while she is still struggling to get her memories back. Her feelings towards Aiden have only gotten stronger while she is still trying to navigate through her past while trying to hold on to her present.
This book was also set up the upcoming installments in Royal Elite Series. Each and every horseman has had me intrigued to no extent. I am going to binge this series till the very end.
Wow.. This trilogy conclusion reminded me of a dark twisted Romeo and Juliet – and I loved it!!!
There’s drama, betrayal, competition, mystery and of course, love.
This concludes Aiden & Elsa romance story and I’m sad to say goodbye but at the same time, I’m so excited to read on about the other three horseman!
There is a LOT of stuff happening in this book. We find out Elsa’s dead father wasn’t dead, just in a coma for 9 years. We learn her mother become very mentally unstable after Eli (Elsa’s older brother) drowned, and began kidnapping children in place of him (Aiden being one of those children). Aiden is trying to help Elsa remember, but with his father trying to keep them apart, it makes it harder to help her, even if she did want his help. Aiden brings her back to her childhood home, to the basement he was held in and where he meets her to help her remember. She does remember and its more to take on than she anticipated.
This books contains a lot of information and connects pieces together so we finally understand Elsa and Aiden and why they are the way they are. There story is a rollercoaster and it is so easy to become captivated by them. The ending to their story was so sweet and suited them perfectly.
Aiden and Elsa will always be my OG’s. The couple that helped me find the Elites and fall in love with Rina Kent’s writing. I’ve reread their trilogy more times to count- it is everything I want in a new adult bully romance. An ruthless, possessive caveman alpha- Aiden is dark, twisted, and a total psycho. He’ll do anything to possess Elsa- he crosses every line. And Elsa- our frozen ice queen- a mystery to us and to herself, she’s got a softness to her, but in this final story, she really comes into her own and shines. Strong, self-assured, and powerful because of her tender heart. And their chemistry- MAN, this is why they are my OGs. Intense, magnetic, powerful. They consume me as much as they consume each other.
This story has it all- darkness, intrigue, secrets, twists, scorching sexual chemistry, that love-hate tension, and angsty galore. In our final story, we get a more complex suite of emotions as well as get some answers to the secrets and mysteries we’ve been grappling with- and we see those two start to grow together and, gasp, MATURE. They finally work through their “ish”- and I could not stop turning pages. Of course, our other characters all seem up to stuff- which I know is the fodder of our future stories.
One of my all time favorite series- total addiction!
I am spending another sleepless night chasing an ending in this series, and I couldn’t be happier. This book does not disappoint!
I am so happy I listened to the recommendation and started this journey. Easily one of my favorite series!
I was pretty sad going into this book because I knew Aiden And Elsa’s story would come to an end. I was addicted to their crazy story and I devoured each mystery and shocking revelation. This book was the perfect ending to their arc. They each really grew as individuals and (finally) as a real couple. This time around, they are on the same page about their relationship.
I felt that, although Steel Princess also alternated with Aiden’s POV, readers can learn a lot more about him in this book. His past, his motivations, how he sees Elsa, why he is the way he is… He also seemed to realize that to have a real relationship with Elsa, he needed to do things the right way. He doesn’t really want something he has to force and I think he sees that a bit more now. He does a good grovel too, which was great.
In the previous two books, I really wanted Elsa to catch on and understand how to play the game. Aiden was winning because she played strong and never smart. This book she changed her strategy. She finally got it and I was so proud! She had more power than she realized. No longer a pawn, Elsa steps into the shoes of a Queen and makes her own decisions.
I am so happy that we finally get our happy ending with these two, although there were still some bumps so deal with along the way. These two are so powerful in their love for each other that I really couldn’t see it ending any other way. A fantastic listen!
Twisted Kingdom: A Dark High School Bully Romance
Royal Elite, Book 3
By: Rina Kent
Narrated by: Shane East, Keira Stevens
Finally, the answers I have been craving. Rina Kent has delivered the most explosive story in these first three books of the Royal Elite series. I became totally invested in the outcome and had to know! And talk about unpredictable! Surprises are at every corner. We continue with the volatile relationship between Elsa and Aidan. It’s one that you just don’t know if you want it to continue, but you have to watch to see. And I am so glad I did! It’s unexpected, it’s passion filled, it’s tragic and it’s everything I love! Dark, mysterious, and intriguing, Kent had my attention until the very end. Can’t wait to continue this delicious series.
Shane East and Keira Stevens are amazing. With high emotions and great passion, I was totally enraptured with the voices, feeling all they were going through. I love these two together, and looking forward to more.
