Savio Falcone has a few non-negotiable rules when it comes to girls. They need to be hot as f*ck.Spread their legs without much prompting. And leave as soon as the fun is over. Preferably minus any bitching or tears. With his easy-going bad boy attitude, a last name that rules over Las Vegas and a body to die for, girls have always been at Savio’s disposal.Unfortunately, the hottest girl in Vegas … hottest girl in Vegas comes with a price Savio isn’t willing to pay. For Savio to get Gemma he’d need to seal the deal and put a ring on her finger. Settling down is out of the question, no matter how hot a piece of ass waits at the altar.
Gemma Bazzoli has had a crush on Savio from the first moment she came face to face with his arrogant smile, but for him she was always his best friend’s annoying little sister—until her hard-earned curves catch even his attention.
But Savio likes it easy, and Gemma is anything but. When she’s promised to another man, Gemma resigns herself to the fact that the man she’s wanted all her life, doesn’t want her badly enough.
Savio has to decide how much work he’s willing to invest, because bending the rules in his usual style might not be enough to get the girl that haunts his wet dreams.

Mafia Romance and Cora Reilly are synonymous in my mind. And Twisted Hearts proved once again why so. She took us to the dark, depraved and violent Camorra world once again. And another alpha man is brought down to knees by a sweet and sassy woman.
The mafia world of Camorra is bound by traditions and their own rules. The stories of the elder brothers Nino and Remo were Arranged marriage romance. But Savio Falcone and Gemma’s story is a bit different. It started when both were young. Gemma is one of the captain’s daughter and his best friend Diego’s sister. On other word, OFF THE LIMITS. Gemma has feelings for this brutal, volatile, sexy as hell, arrogant and ruthless man but Savio does not look at her at all. This story is an evolution of their relationship.
It was slow burn in purest and tortuous form. The push and pull made me crazy. To make matters more complicated and frustrating, the Traditionalist family of Gemma and the mafia rules interfered a lot. The chemistry went through the full range of emotions. They bickered like children. Savio made Gemma uncomfortable at every turn and she never lost hope of winning him. The bloody turn of events made Savio realise he really wants Gemma. She becomes bolder and more assertive throughout the story. The combination of innocence and defiance was amazing. They are not a regular couple as they belong to a different kind of world where emotions can be weakness. We see through Savio’ s broken soul and vulnerabilities. And it was surprising and swoonworthy to see him opening up and softening for Gemma. They were annoying friends. Then they got into an almost forced, awkward and surprising marriage. And at the end they became true partners in love. The steamy and sizzling hot chemistry would make your kindle super hot.
Cora Reilly created a perfect collage of adrenaline filled mafia games, intense romance and beautiful emotions. Another must read mafia romance from the master herself!
Received ARC for Honest review
Twisted Hearts in the fifth book in The Camorra Chronicles by Cora Reilly.
“The first time I saw Savio Falcone, I fell for him, literally and figuratively, and not in lust either because I didn’t know what that was.”
This book is highly anticipated by all of us. I really had to savor every part of this book. We have been waiting for so long that I did not want to read it in one night like I usually do for Cora’s books. I wanted this to last and really connect with it.
And…it was definitely unexpected.
Savio Falcone is absolutely unapologetic, cocky, charming, arrogant, and the most stubborn. In the other books, Savio was easily one of my favorite characters as he is charming and comical. Buttttttt in his own book, he will have you feeling like you’re bipolar. I wanted to shake him to get some senses into him, scream at him for being so him, and yet gush over him for being so him.
“Don’t worry, Gem. I won’t touch you until you’re officially mine.”
Savio was him through and through in the whole book which I absolutely loved. He is unapologetic and it made me like him even more. I saw so many layers of Savio and I am so happy that we finally got to know him better.
“Oh Kitty, I will own you.”
Gemma Bazzoli is fierce, determined, loyal, sassy, and the hottest girl in Las Vegas. Gemma grew up in a loving and traditional Italian upbringing. I pictured Gemma different from the teasers, but I realized that she was even better than what I even imagined. Gemma is very innocent because of her upbringing but she was still so sweet and innocent that did not seemed forced. I absolutely love Gemma because of her determination and strong-mindedness.
I love that we went on a journey with Savio and Gemma from when they were younger to the present time. Their relationship was defined clearly and it was refreshing to go along with them. Gemma started with a young crush on Savio that eventually evolved into something bigger.
Savio and Gemma were made for each other. Their chemistry was on fire and I loved that they had similar interests like fighting and working out.
Twisted Hearts was phenomenal. Very unexpected and so very amazing. I love Cora’s book to the core. I am very invested in all her books, so I was happy that like always she included great content cameo’s from other characters from the series. Savio and Gemma’s character development was not rushed and felt real.
I love the dynamic of the whole Falcone clan and I look forward to reading Adamo’s book next or whatever comes next in the series. Cora’s writing style is flawless as always and it gets better and better.
You guys are not ready for this book! It is fantastic and a MUST read. Come read with an open mind and trust in Cora because she slayed Twisted Hearts. Get ready for a roller coaster of emotions and the feelssss.
I generously received an ARC provided by the author in exchanged for an honest review.
Slow Clap for Cora Reilly. I. Was. Hooked. My emotions were all over the place with this book. Savio and Gemma’s story is amazing. The way the author writes these brutal, hard, alpha males has you swooning once they fall victim to love. The heroine’s are complete opposites of the hero just like Savio and Gemma. She starts out very passive but as the story progresses her backbone gets stronger. I had so much more respect for her as she stood her ground! This book and series is not to be missed. Cora Reilly won me with the Born in Blood Series but holy smokes, those Camorra Chronicles Men are a force to be reckoned with. This is an epic read the you cannot miss!
Gemma was not at all what I expected, and actually neither was Savio. Their story started off, and I thought I saw where it was going, but it didn’t. And it took a bit for me to realize it wasn’t going there, because I kept thinking, now it will, but no, okay this is the time, no not then either. Then I started to get frustrated, and I didn’t really like Savio all that much. I loved Gemma, she was great, and way nicer than she should have been. About 60% into the story, it happened, and it was bad, and I sobbed. It wasn’t at all expected, but it turned things around, though not all the way. Savio woke up, but Gemma still was waiting. The story really turned into a love story at this point, but there was still so much to happen. It all did come together finally, right at the end, Savio and Gemma finally got all the missing pieces to fit together, and make them both whole again!
Twisted Hearts is the highly anticipated fourth installment of the Camorra Chronicles revolving around Savio Falcone and his best-friends sister Gemma Bazzoli. This book spans over many years as we observe the characters growing up. Some people might not like this book because of Savio’s playboy image, but I liked that Cora didn’t make Savio a different person just because it was his book. Although, Savio still managed to piss me off in this book because of his constant unfaithfulness (they are engaged). I loved Savio in the previous books and was expecting a lot from this book. Yes, I expected him to be unfaithful, but this was a bit too much for me. And Gemma, I expected her to have a bigger backbone with him. She seemed so naive at times – she came from a traditional family, but some of the things she didn’t know about were surprising. Savio has a redeeming element at the end of this novel, but I had difficulty accepting his change of behavior and remorse. I wish there had been more from him, and I think both Savio and Gemma deserved better. Although, I think the 2nd half of this book was a lot better than the first after Savio finally got his act together. My favorite part of this novel was the family interaction and the kids. They were honestly the highlight of this book. I also wish we had seen more interaction between Savio and Greta as we had in the previous books – but even that was limiting. Either way, if you have a problem with cheating, I would proceed with caution. Otherwise, I would recommend this book to see some of the previous characters and potentially future couples/books.
I don’t know why so many people dislike this book, I really enjoyed it. It was fun to see the inner working of Savio and his relationship alone with Great had my heart melting! I like Gemma she was a fierce and strong and whilst I didn’t always agree with both Savio and hers actions I’m glad they found each other. This was an interesting addition to the cammorra series and I cannot wait for Adamos books next! (3.9 stars)
Twisted Hearts is a light, delightful book to read I devoured it in just a few hours, so it was released I couldn’t stop reading if you were expecting a Savio Falcone “Gentleman on a White Horse” I am very disappointed in you, this was something I liked about “Hearts” Cora didn’t change Savio’s personality to please the fans, he stayed true to who he was, a bad boy who doesn’t like commitment, vain, loves sex, fights, hot girls and definitely does not want to marry, he remained the Savio Falcone we know in “Loyalties”.
Let’s talk about the “new characters” Gemma contrary to what everyone thought is not that “Bad ass” that everyone had created in their minds, she is a sweet girl, passionate, dedicated to the family, there is no way not to love her, Gemma is just amazing, I smiled a lot with her, I cried, several times I wanted to hug her there, I loved how the family religiosity was explored, I as a Catholic family I identified with her a lot, the Prayer scene at the dinner table It was everything to me. We can not talk about Gemma without talking about Diego and Toni, some did not like Diego because he is very “protective” sometimes even more but I connected easily with him, in fact the whole Gemma family stole my heart, parents her, Nonna, her little sister (I love the Bazzoli family).
When Cora “announced” that Gemma would have a best friend named Toni I didn’t know what their friendship would be like and now I thank Cora every day for creating this character, she totally shies away from the standards of “good italian girl” two by far is one of the best things in the book.
Falcones: This book only reinforced what we all already knew, Remo Falcone best Capo ever, all the scenes he came up with I screamed, he didn’t make things easy for Savio because he’s his brother and I really hope Cora considers writing another book for Remo why there is someone who deserves a continuation is Remo Falcone. Nevio and Serafina also made appearances that I loved in ‘Hearts’, I laughed a lot at various times, the Savio, Nevio and Serafina interactions were the best. Cora wanted to do, “I felt wrong
Savio has always been a breath of fresh air in every Camorra book. He made me laugh countless times. I was eagerly waiting to get inside his head for so long.
Our main girl Gemma has had a crush on Savio ever since their first meeting. Unfortunately her feelings were never reciprocated.
The story spans over the course of a few years and this gave a chance to see their characters develop from immature kids to responsible adults. You would not like Savio in the first couple of chapters for sure. But Gemma will crawl into your heart from the very beginning.
Gemma challenged every notion Savio had about him. Her strong willed personality and tender heart made him fall for her like crazy!
Special mention to Savio’s bond with his niece Greta! That was so heartwarming to read. He was tender and loving with her.
I need Adamo’s book right now!!! Can’t wait!
Savio’s book was one that many people were waiting and excited for. In others Camorra’s book he was cocky, charming and always thought that any girl could tame his bull (hahah). On the surface Savio seemed like a carefree lustful guy but in Twisted Hearts Cora showed to us all his sides, emotions and who he was.
Gemma and Savio led as different lifestyles as possible.
Gemma is an innocent good girl who is in the church choir but she can kick ass if she needs to. Savio is a bad guy who spends most of his time with different girls at parties. Gemma had been in love with Savio from the first time they met and had dreamed only about him wanted him as her husband but Savio saw her only as the annoying little sister of his best friend until she got older. Then Savio saw her as a hot girl that he want only for himself but not at the cost of marriage. Gemma’s family was traditional and believed in the sacred bond of marriage. So many times while i was reading this book i wanted to hit Savio with all my strength. Many of the time he was a real asshole with Gemma he was doing some things she didn’t deserve.
Gemma so sweet girl so innocent. I loved her from the beginning. The development of their relationship was like a roller coaster. At one point they were good together but then everything went wrong. And so it was many times. Savio had mixed emotions about something as serious as marriage before one event. Then he realizes that Gemma is all he needs and trying to win her over again.
Also I loved Falcones in this book. Cora showed us what a family they’ve become together. Their shared moments were amazing. In the beginning it was just the Falcone brothers and Fabiano but their lives changed and they became a wonderful strong family. Each of them protects this family and ready to do anything for each of them.
Their story was filled with love, fun and pain. My emotions during the reading changed with each page I felt so many things with them. It was an amazing emotional roller coaster. Cora never ceases to amaze me.
Savio savio savio what can I say. Based on his character in the other books I was curious to see how he’d be in this book with his H, and I think while I wanted to slap him a couple of times and I know some have trouble with OW I’m books I liked that the author stayed true to the character instead of doing a complete 180 and having him be someone else entirely. The change in him is done gradually and so feels more believable and organic. It was really interesting to get an insight into him and his past a little.
Gemma or h was kickass really, while her actions in the beginning seemed that of a crush you see as she gets older and she matures how genuine her feelings are and I loved that she didn’t just dive back in after everything she made him wait and until she was ready.
It was a good read, but I’d only wished there was more epilogue or chapters, but that’s me being greedy to see more of the characters.
Have you ever felt your heart rate racing like you were in a marathon?
Did you feel that you don’t want these pages to end because you have become part of it ?
This is what happend to me when I read this book.
Twisted Hearts
What can I say about this book?
Am i amazed?
Yes
I cant describe my feelings
I cried
I was happy
I laughed
I got angry
Cora was able to revive these characters until I couldn’t believe it was not real
Literally I live with these characters and they became part of my life since the first book.
Savio
I loved that behind his strength and sarcasm there is a affectionate and loving heart especially for children
i loved his relationship with Greta and how she trusted him even though she is shy around others.
His love for Gemma is everything
the way he treated her in the beginning you think he don’t give a fu*k but he’s really care about her but can’t show that just to protect her especially from himself
Gemma
strong
sweet
brave
That girl owned my heart
How did she hold her love for Savio until the end despite everything that happened
and what happened to gemma literally broke my heart
She suffered so much that I cried with her and for her
I can’t forget that moment when choosing her wedding dress
its a moment full of emotions
I love everybody in this book
I love the book
Cora always give me hope through her books
Thank you Cora
You don’t know how much I love you and love your masterpieces
I have a love-hate relationship with this book, in that 80% of the book bothered me, but I really enjoyed the ending. I wonder if the author was going through personal things when she wrote this one, because it doesn’t even seem like her writing, in that she seemed to not put as much drive into this one as her others.
Which is sad because Savio was shaping up to be a funny, lovable character, as seen in previous books. I was very curious how his story would play out. The manwh*re character that he is is VERY much played up in this one, so much that I feel bad for Gemma. I hated when Luca cheated on Aria, but Savio’s actions were so much worse. I think because he acted so blase about it all. After the engagement, he didn’t care, and he did admit that he wouldn’t stop after the wedding. For him, it was all about winning Gemma, and then he stopped caring after that.
Gemma is a character so driven by her upbringing. Unfortunately, she has a crazy crush on Savio when she’s young, and it’s something that never goes away. This crush ultimately was what made me really sad for her; because she saw him only in the light, meanwhile he was already planning to cheat on her after marriage.
I just wish their story played out differently. Maybe less of an age gap would have helped because emotions could have been in there sooner. Savio didn’t want her, but did acknowledge the crush, until she was engaged. Winning her was simply that: a game so he can sleep with her. She thought the world of him, so it was just a very sad book.
I am giving this 4 stars and not 3 because the ending did redeem it. After the marriage, it became the book that I was waiting for. I do believe his care for her, but it is hard to see how it got there, considering the rest of the book.
Very curious of what Adamo’s book will be, since so far there’s been no hint as to a girl for him. Maybe someone from the Famiglia?
3/5
Savio is the second youngest Falcone brother. He is the type of guy that easily gets what he wants without doing much for it. As a Falcone and having the Capo from the Camorra (Las Vegas) as your brother this is expected.
Gemma comes from a very traditional home, she wants her first kiss in church and even though she has to wait for marriage its something she wants to do as well.
Savio is best friends with Gemma’s older brother, Gemma always had a crush on Savio.
Savio thinks that Gemma is the hottest girl around but isn’t ready to settle down yet, he likes easy and Gemma isn’t easy. She is a thought girl that loves to work out and fight.
When Gemma gets promised to someone else Savio isn’t to happy about this and does something nobody expects: he was willing to work for it.
This wasn’t a bad book to be honest but when we first met Gemma in a different books (I think Twisted Emotions) she comes across as a strong female who doesn’t take anything from anyone and fights for anything and everything she wants. She is still a strong female don’t get me wrong but she is a lot more emotional, and there is nothing wrong with that. But before I read Twisted Heart I thought that she would be the one who puts him in his place. But that didn’t really happen Savio is the one who makes the change because of something that happened which is still a great storyline I was just expecting something else. And that is probably on me for reading too much into it from the previous book. It was overall this a good story that I come back to pretty often because somethings I just miss them.
The whole world that Cora Reilly built to be honest, it’s one of those few series I come back to a lot more often then I like to admit.
** Audiobook Review**
Twisted Hearts is an arranged marriage book in the mafia world involving Savio Falcone. Gemma fell for him as a young girl and always wanted to be his, but he never wanted to settle down and always had a new girl, new day kind of attitude. When push comes to shove, and the time comes for Gemma to have a husband, Savio decides no one else can have her, even though he doesn’t really intend to fully commit to her either, which causes a lot of turmoil and emotional unease for Gemma.
Eventually there is a shift in Savio, but more so around the time of the wedding, and he decides he will be faithful and he will put more effort into his relationship with Gemma and he starts treating her more in the way he should. It is in these times, that he becomes more likeable as a character and you can start to see that their relationship may actually work and that they may actually be happy and Gemma might be able to have what she actually wanted. Savio was good with the children throughout the book, especially Carlotta which was endearing, so his one saving grace was the hope that the way he grew up shaped how he saw relationships and attachment, but that in time, it could change. But again, at some point, people also need to take responsibility for their actions, and for a lot of the book, his actions were pretty distateful for someone in a relationship. However, as a reader of fiction, I understand this is a story and that is part of his character and I am not one of those readers who simply say I won’t read a book with cheating etc. I think most people will agree he was not a likeable character in the beginning of the story, however, I do feel like he made a lot of progres after the wedding and I do feel like he took steps to better himself and his character.
I struggled at times with both Savio and Gemma as characters, but overall did find the story as a whole engaging. I listened to the audio which I really enjoyed. The narrators were absolutely fabulous and made the book really enjoyable and easy to listen to. I do enjoy the author’s writing style and I enjoy the mafia world she has created and look forward to reading and listening to more of her work.
Savio is always driving me crazy and he did not disappoint in his own book. Savio was such an idiot for a long time. He drove me and Gemma crazy. I did curse his name a couple times. But I really adore his humour and crazy comments.
I really liked Gemma. Her story made me smile and cry. Gemma is both strong, fierce and softly innocent. And a little naive at times. She was everything Savio needed.
I loved Savio’s brother’s reaction when he said he wanted to get married. That was too funny. I loved that Savio had to work for her. They are really sweet together and I’m really happy for Gemma. She was in love with him for a really long time and she finally tamed the bull.
I’ve loved every single book I’ve ready by Cora Reilly- and for this particular series, I’ve never rated anything below 5 stars, but man, was this a disappointment. I’m not sure how Savio’s story ended up here, but I honestly wish I’d not read it so I could keep the conception of Savio and Gemma in my head from prior stories.
The writing, as always, is spectacular. The world building is there, and the 3 stars are earned in part because of the glimpses we get of over characters we love, characters who stay consistent with who we know them to be. Savio, on the other hand, does not- the minute we get inside his head, I love him less and less. The heart and humor and glimpses of lightness we see in him feel absent for most of the book. Sure, we know he was a manwhore going in, but to see m him so brazenly, carelessly, and heartlessly operate for much of the book is really heartbreaking for me, and for the character I thought we’d see. His behavior and motives are pretty much unforgivable- and it feels every more so because this isn’t some random pairing, he’s known Gemma and her brother for most of her life- you’d expect more care, responsibility, and consideration, but Savio doesn’t’ seem to have an ounce of what his brother’s showed their stranger brides.
And Gemma is such a disappointment. Sure, she’s young, that doesn’t’ feel a fair excuse for her unflinching, naïve, and downright desperate infatuation with Savio, despite all he does. We, like she does, suffer through the pain of their relationship for 80% of the book, and when I can’t buy his remorse or change of behavior, I find it hard to believe that she would. She’s physically a fighter, but emotionally a pushover. And, don’t’ get me wrong, I LOVE softer, more emotive and gentle heroines- Kiara is my favorite, but there is a difference between a fully realized human who is soft and gentle but still has self-respect and a caricature who feels less realized and more a plot device for our hero to grow- and Gemma feels a bit like that.
And, what hurt the worst was that I never buy their connection to each other. I get the physical, but I don’t get why she’s into Savio’s personality, and when he finally does come around, I don’t’ really buy his love for her either. Some of that may be in the (uncharacteristic) delay of physical connection- we have to wait a long time for even a kiss, but to me it wasn’t just that- the emotional connection felt missing.
If cheating (loosely defined) is not your thing and/or if you loved Savio in the prior books, you may want to think twice about this one. I love every single one in the catalog and some I’ve re-read multiple times. This one was a rare miss for me.
I am a member of Cora’s Flamingo Squad – her Facebook readers’ group. And we got as many teasers as we could to be able to create a vision of two main characters.
Why did I give only four stars, and not five? I created a vision of Savio and Gemma in my mind. Of easy-going, handsome, man-whore, bad boy Savio and strong, feisty, fierce Gemma. And as long as the vision of Savio was fulfilled… I was utterly disappointed in Gemma.
The plot was 10/10. I laughed hard so many times I can’t even count them. I cried horribly while reading two chapters and couldn’t stop. It was so engaging that when I started reading, I couldn’t stop. And the big advantage is that the past events were completely new and there wasn’t a repeated story from previous books from Savio’s POV. I love it.
Then when it comes to Savio. Watching his development throughout the book – observing how he did try to change from a man-whore to responsible husband to make Gemma happy. And seeing how he managed to accept the fact that he wants her and tries to get her? Amazing. Even if I hated him in some parts, it only made me love him even harder at the end.
If you don’t have any image of Gemma in your mind before reading the book, I think that you may love her as much as Savio. And then, the book will become your favorite.
It was time to meet the third of the Falcone brothers, probably my opinion will be very unpopular seeing that many do not like me, but then what do I do if I do , I can not say that the story was perfect or that the I loved from beginning to end, because the truth was not as wonderful as the last of the Falcone brothers (although of course Nino and Remo are unsurpassed ), well I will try to make as little Spoiler as possible.
First of all, I never make expectations with the books so that I enjoy the story and not be owed, so for me the story was very good, Savio managed to fall in love (sorry those who hated me if I liked ) Gemma, on the other hand, owes me a little because I had to be a strong character and decided, but it was the opposite, for me she would be the most rebellious and introverted of the whole series (for all the teasers that came out) but it was a little disappointing to meet someone completely different.
The story begins with the first encounter of them when they were still teenagers, Gemma’s crush is immediate and that girl decides that she will be her husband, so (in my view) she becomes infatuated with Savio to the point that you feel that the woman begs for her love and attention, Savio on the other hand remained Savio, that man is the same one you knew from the first books, his character and way of being is the same, so for me it was nothing surprising all that He did, they are going to get married Gemma got it but sometimes dreams are not what they seem and Gemma will find out, Savio by his side something has to happen so that he finally gets in the way and starts to value Gemma and her relationship.I can’t tell you much because everything would be Spoiler, but in general I liked the book, it was a good read and I loved the last 30% of the book, as always Cora played with my emotions and made me cry and suffer, which for me plays find It is the length of the compromise whereby we can see Savio’s behavior, which we never saw, although we learned from the previous gangsters, and I think that played Savio badly because everyone hated him (I didn’t ) to my point of Cora view lengthened the commitment too much or shortened the marriage, because the truth I wanted to see them more as a couple, see more their love and their way of relating in all respects, love as Savio did not press it, as he was giving his Times and I loved their dates, they were tender and sweet, the Falcone family is the best, reading about each one of them and the children is wonderful and it was impossible for you I will not smile every time one of the previous characters came out, nor tell them how I I put when Luca comes out and that they just say Luca arrived , the twins won my heart more they are adorable and when they came out they stole the scene and please I need a Fabiano book, they left me wanting more of him, good for me the book is good and enjoy reading it, it is not my favorite, but it is good and as a fan of Cora and the mafia you have to read it, I look forward to the following story.
I really wanted to make this review only about Savio and Gemma, but how can I do that when my favorite thing about this book was Remo Falcone? If I had any doubts he was my favorite character in the Camorra Chronicles, after Twisted Hearts I have none. He is simply the best capo, husband, father and brother. His twisted sense of humor always makes me laugh and his protectiveness towards his family is just mindblowing. Since the first time he appeared threatening Luca in Bound by Love I was sold. Now he’s definitely one of my favorite NA characters ever. Most of my highlights in this book were about him, Serafina, Nevio and Greta. Yeah, I’m a sucker for them. What about it?
Anyways, now let’s talk about the main characters of Twisted Hearts. Savio was always my least favorite Falcone brother. That changed a little in Twisted Bonds because of the way he protected Kiara and Alessio. He is an amazing brother and uncle, but other than that there’s not much.
I thought what would make me not like this book was how Savio was gonna treat Gemma, but that actually was the least of my worries. Sure, he treated her like shit before he got his act together, but that’s just who he is. My problem with him is that, unlike his brothers, he doesn’t have any depth. I think the author spent a lot of time building his bad boy persona and not enough time showing who he is besides that. I was expecting more scenes with him, the kids and his brothers, but there was nothing.
I just wanted to connect with Savio in some way, but besides the way he treated Gemma, there wasn’t any real development to his character. Sure, he mentioned a few times that he only acted like a jerk because of his past, but it didn’t feel very belieavable. Maybe if we have a second gemmasavio book this will change, but for now he just isn’t a character I really care about.
Gemma disappointed me a little, but that’s only because I have a hard time liking very religious people 😐 So in this case, the problem is with me, not with her. Other than that, I thought she was a sweet and caring character. I also loved how passionate she is about fighting and the idea of her being a self-defense teacher. That’s really amazing.
In conclusion, my main problem with this book is that I just didn’t connect with the main characters. But this doesn’t make this a bad book. Not even in the slightest. In fact, I stayed up until 3AM reading it even though I needed to wake up at 7AM. Cora has a way of capturing your attention at all times and making the story flow amazingly. That’s real talent.
Now I’m starting my countdown to Adamo’s book because I can’t wait to see him back in Vegas. That scene where Remo was crushed by the idea of Adamo staying in New York forever really made me sad. He loves Adamo so much. I just 🙁
I loved this book
