Capturing the attention of a dangerously sexy fae leader was never part of my plan. I wanted to finish college, get a job, and maybe find a nice guy to date. Instead, I end up forced to work alongside the very fae who gets under my skin like no man ever has. I can’t stand him, but I also can’t deny the tension that ignites whenever he’s close. After surviving my run-in with the fae, I planned to … surviving my run-in with the fae, I planned to go back to my perfectly mapped future and forget they existed. Silly me, I should have known that silver-tongued Tristan wouldn’t leave me alone.
And maybe I don’t want him to.
But when my brother falls ill to a sickness not even fae magic can cure, none of my plans matter anymore. And before I have a moment to catch my breath, both my life and my heart are put in danger when Tristan’s fae nemesis emerges and forces me to make a terrible choice.
One I don’t know I’ll survive.

I really enjoyed this book. I went in knowing nothing really about it and this is the first book by this author I have read and it was a great read. I loved the push and pull between Tristan and Aurora aka Rory, they had a chemistry you could feel and yet Aurora tried to fight it to the bitter end. I liked how we got to see into some of the Fae world and the storm that’s brewing before a war happens. I’ve never read about fae so this was new to me but really cool. The ending does kind of leave you hanging and is heartbreaking that I immediately bought the second book to see how this plays out.
Twisted Fate is book 1 in the Twisted Series by author Jessi Elliot. The book focuses on the relationship of Aurora Marshall and Tristan Westbrook. Aurora is a college student, working hard to get her degree and become a bookshop owner. Sadly, she is thrown into the world of the Fae with a case of mistaken identity and into the path of Tristan, the leader of the Fae. Aurora has to make a deal with Tristan in order to escape but in doing so starts Aurora on a path that is going to change her life forever.
There are a lot of twist and turns in this book regarding the two factions of Fae, both Light and Dark and how their history came about. Stuck in the middle of this is Rory who is trying to learn about who she is whilst dealing with college, family issues and Tristan…the one person that she has an immediate and steamy spark with. As a reader, we really get to see into the Fae world and how it works whilst following Rory literally down the rabbit hole.
There are moments of pure sadness in this book relating to Rory and her family as well as deep relationship building between Tristan and Rory. Secondary characters also help to move the book along, but you are left with a lot of questions at the end…hence how it is a series.
This is certainly a romance book more than a paranormal book, but fans of either will certainly enjoy it. A good read.

Jessi Elliott is a completely new author to me, and i found that her writing style in this Fae series is quite interesting, the way she writes the characters is amazing, their lives almost become real, she has a way with words, and i for one could not put this book down,
Aurora has been mistaken for someone else, but soon learns her past and future are soon to be aligned and everything in her life will make since, right? thrown into a world she never new existed she soon will learn not all is at it seems.
I cant wait to read more from Jessi Elliott and see where aurora and crew are lead to .
The plot was really intriguing and I loved every moment of it, I seriously cannot wait for the next book it left on such a cliffhanger that I want to know what happens next. I need the sequel like right now. I didn’t know where it was going and I did not see the twists or turns that were coming and it still loves me shocked thinking about them now.
I loved Aurora and how sassy she was in the first few chapters I was actually laughing out loud in some parts because of her witty comebacks! I loved the banter between Aurora and Tristan although at times I was thinking that it wasn’t even banter. It was a story of enemies to lovers, Aurora and Tristan’s relationship wasn’t insta lovey or anything like that, they both built their friendship and romantic relationship. It didn’t feel rushed at all. She was very strong and loyal to her friends and I loved that was one of her qualities. I also enjoyed how driven she was to achieve what she wanted and she was very smart. I loved her character.
Tristan I thought was kind of funny, I loved seeing how his business worked and that he was very smart. Also that he was willing to take advice from Aurora when she suggested what to do about his problems with the fae. I also loved how he did have the respect of everyone who worked for him. That being said of course he had his issues like changing the mind of Aurora’s accessor so for her placement she’ll be placed with him. Dream walking into Aurora’s dream. It really made me laugh how he was intrigued by her so much especially because he couldn’t wipe her memory when they accidentally kidnapped her.
I really didn’t like Alison who was meant to be Aurora’s best friend, Aurora was so loyal to her and time after time she began to defend her and stick up for her. Even try and change Tristan’s mind on punishment for her. But I just really didn’t like her, she grated on me so much through this novel. I just didn’t like her. I can’t explain why I didn’t. Just got a wrong vibe from her. She was just a shit friend in my opinion.
I loved Skyler and Max, it was especially funny as they really didn’t like Aurora at the beginning and Max did, in fact, try feeding off her. I loved that eventually did begin to like her but they didn’t really change their attitude. There’s a scene I particular love where Skyler takes care of her and they are just like let’s never talk about it again. I loved it.
I loved everything about this novel, I loved the writing and I can’t wait for the sequel and to read more!
STARS
Twisted Fate (Twisted, #1) by Jessi Elliott is a fabulous debut offering.
In fact, it’s hard to believe this is from a debut author.
Jessie Elliot has managed to completely smash it with Twisted Fate.
I don’t usually read many New Adult novels, but I do like to partake in a good fantasy and I’m a sucker for anything involving the fae.
This is a fantastic addition to the genre.
So in This, we have Aurora Marshall a fourth-year business student currently attending college.
In a case of mistaken identity, Aurora finds herself abducted from a college party and in the hands of Tristan the gorgeously overbearing leader of the dark fae.
Her eyes opened to a world she had no idea existed.
Now in danger from various factions, Aurora finds herself in the position of needing Tristan’s protection.
Entering into a wary alliance Aurora finds herself in the employ of Tristan’s very successful business as part of her final studies criteria.
As the pair become closer a mutual attraction develops between Tris and Rory.
But there’s a war brewing between the Dark and the Light and Aurora as Tristan’s weakness might just get stuck right smack in the middle of it.
So I really adored Twisted Fate, from the second I started reading this I was absolutely transfixed with this fascinating tale.
Both Aurora and Tristan are such great relatable and likeable individuals.
There was also the added bonus of the well rounded diverse secondary players that were involved.
So many new authors make the mistake of not fleshing these out, not Jessie, these are just as multi-faceted as the main players.
There are the usual twists and turns with this along with some extremely heartbreaking moments where Tristan really comes into his own showing Aurora just what kind of man or fairy he really is.
The ending itself, well let’s just say I really didn’t see that one coming.
It will be very interesting to see where the author takes this next.
And I’m gagging for the next instalment I need this so now!!!
So there we have it a brilliant debut offering that’s completely knocked it out of the park.
Give this a go its all sorts of fairylicious and it’s certainly such addictive reading it should come with its own warning.
I was provided with an ARC of Twisted Fate (Twisted, #1)
by Jessi Elliott of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
