This book got me out of a slump and I’ll forever be grateful. It’s beautifully written and I loved their brothers and family. I loved Kiara and Nino. I honestly would love to reread this book again because it’s just that good. It’s a page tuner!
I think the author did such an amazing job writing this book.
Can’t wait to read more about these characters throughout the series! Definitely recommend.
Love this book went in not a fan of Remo and Nino, and came out so impressed…Cora actually made me a fan of Remo and Nino.
I actually read this book after I read twisted pride lol so.it was fun to see these characters actually meet. My heart broke.for Kiara but love that she found someone who was patient with her and respected her. Nino was amazing, his love for Kiara and him falling for her was so nice to see. I love that he would always check her pulse to see how she was feeling. Swoon worthy! These two were made for eachother. Great start to their love story
Lord knows how many times I’ve read this book. I just can’t stop it. Definitely my favorite book in the series. I don’t normally write reviews, but this one does deserve it.
Kiara with a troubling past, is sent to marry her monster of a husband, Nino Falcone. While reading this book, I thought of a perfect way to describe both Kiara and Nino’s journey. This book was a song being played by the piano, and I could feel each certain moment. It was beautifully written, and I love the family love between the Falcone brothers. Not only do you fall in love with Kiara and Nino, but also everyone around them that truly make their love shine.
Nino and Kiara are very well-written characters, and at first you might think that together they would be an imminent disaster, but throughout the book we see that one could not have been a better choice for the other. I felt compassion for Kiara and what she went through as a child, and I enjoyed seeing how the author developed her relationship with nina, credibly and in her own time. This book belongs to Nino and Kiara and they are both amazing characters but Remus joined Dante as my favorite Cora mobster, it was impossible not to fall in love with his care of his family, and about Nino, no introduction to the way he treated Kiara and this coming from someone who said he was unable to have feelings.
Another highlight that I liked about the book was Nino’s relationship with his brothers and Fabiano, the bond they put together was very interesting to see, and showed that they can be dangerous and scary for the world, but when it comes to Family they are there for each other. And Of course it made me curious about the rowing story, although I could understand him a little better in the end, for me he is a complete puzzle and I wonder who will be his match. Of course I have theories, so I can’t wait to see if they will get it right or if the author will surprise me.
Wow!!!! This was such an emotional read, my heart ached more than once throughout the story.
I loved this book. I’m reading all the books in the Born in Blood and the Camorra series and they are all phenomenal. This is the story of Nino and Kiara, one of my favorite ones.
Nino, Remo’s brother, is incapable of feelings but he is a fascinating character and Kiara feels broken, she can’t trust anyone. They have to get married in an attempt to bring peace to two families, the Camorra and the New York Famiglia. It’s a marriage of convenience but their relationship develops in a way that they end up helping each other in overcoming all their traumas and form a strong bond. Absolute tear jerker, believe me.
Their story is heartbreaking but it is a beautiful story, the emotions are sky rocket high in this book, be warned!
Another arranged marriage trope from Cora? Sign me up right now!
For all of you thinking this might be like Luca & Aria, let me tell you all, this book is so unique. Cora really has a knack of writing arranged marriage love stories.
Nin Falcone has had a tough life. Due to the things he suffered, he shut off his emotions to deal with them all. Until now his defence mechanism has worked out perfectly for him. Enter Kiara Vitiello…
Kiara grew up as a traitor’s daughter. She never got the deserved respect from all of her family. Even living with her loved ones she felt like an outsider, never really fitting in. but that was only a small needle in the bundle of hay stack that was her childhood trauma.
Nino & Kiara are pushed together in a marriage to seal a truce between Las Vegas Camorra & New York Famiglia.
Their marriage was supposed to be only a business alliance. They were not supposed to feel things for each other. But fate had other ideas.
The way these two complimented each other was mesmerizing to read. Nino motivated Kiara to break free from her trauma and in return Kiara helped Nino find his buried emotions.
Cora’s writing was superb in this one. She wrote the emotions so delicately in this one.
I loved this book so much. The plot was fantastic, the characters and their development was beautiful and the story was enthralling. Nino and Kiara’s relationship was everything! I love how they flourished together, how Kiara grew in confidence and battled her demons and Nino was patient and a rock in helping her get there while he himself dealt with the emotions Kiara stirred in him. It’s a testament to the authors writing to be able to portray such a character who lacks emotions in a way that he is actually adored by the reader and was captivating. All round great read and one of my favorite mafia books to date.
Twisted Emotions is one of those books that I find myself returning too all the damn time. It is so good.
Honestly when Nino was first introduced, his lack of emotions really did intrigue me, and I absolutely adored how he took care of Kiara given her past. Their relationship is literally everything you’d want in a healthy relationship, it’s patient, caring, loving (well no so much in this book but yeah)
Anyway the character development is IMMACULATE. Kiara evolved and grew into such an amazing version of herself throughout this book, and the familial love was super amazing to see, even with Fabiano. Honestly, Outfit’s broken familal relationships scarred me but I think this one built right on them though Nino was a bit softer than I initially anticipated him to be, but all in all I would recommend this book.
If you are looking for a wonderful and different book
This book is your aim
Nino and Kiara are my favorite couple
Cora own my heart and my soul totally
If you see my review
Then you should read this book immediately
I have read this book more than 50 times and am still reading it until now
This is what distinguishes Cora Books that you will never get bored no matter how much you read it
This is my favourite book by this author so far. It slayed me in every possible way. The relationship between Nino and Kiara was heartbreaking as much as it was swoony. They are my favourite couple so far. Everything about this hit the spot. Now I really can’t wait for Remo and Savio’s stories. I volunteered to listen and review an complementary copy of this. All opinions are my own.
Wow, wow, wow! This book!
While Twisted Loyalties was the tie to connect this series to the previous one, this almost feels like the official start of the series. Fabiano did not go deep into the mafia lifestyle, but this one is right up there. And just like book 1 of the Born in Blood Chronicles, this one begins with an arranged marriage.
Nino was a hard character to figure out in the previous books, but I really enjoyed his portrayal of this one. While he is business-like, and saw the union as nothing more than that, he also treated it with a bit of emotion. He was understanding of the situation for Kiera, he played along with Luca’s rules, he was never cruel to her. The book made multiple claims on how the Vegas mafia seems worse than New York’s, but this book definitely shows otherwise. Maybe it’s just the traditionalist community New York’s is bound in, maybe it’s the types of characters…whatever it is, I found Vegas to be a lot more relaxing. The Falcone brothers are made out to be deadly creatures, but when reading, I was never scared of them. In comparison, Luca and Matteo had a deadly air around them, but Nino and Remo seem much more relaxed. Nino and his brothers are much more down to earth.
As per every good arranged marriage, Kiera should have been a virgin, but this was something taken from her years ago. The book did a wonderful job with portraying her discomfort, fear, and trauma, and also unpacking the trauma and getting her to move on. I was scared the fact of what happened to her would be dragged out, but I enjoyed how it was handled early on, and how it was handled in general. I also love how Luca gave permission for it all. I think what they did really speaks to Luca and the Falcone brother’s morals. I enjoy that he didn’t care about such things–also indicating how down to earth he is. Instead the book was able to focus on moving past it.
Going back to Nino, I think he is a very unique and interesting character. Dark romances always claim their characters cannot feel, but this time it’s true. I found it wonderful to read about, interesting, but also sad coming from Kiera’s POV.
I want to give this book 4 stars, only because it unsatisfied me. While he said it at the end, was it for sure true? I felt like the ending was rushed. I’m giving this 4 and not 5, only because I see after Remo’s book is another for these two. Given Nino’s unique disposition, the love parts couldn’t be rushed and I suspect two books were always planned for them. So I will hold off and wait for more.
This plot ends with the brothers getting ready to complete Remo’s plan. I look forward to getting to Twisted Pride and seeing how it all unfolds!
Twisted Emotions by Cora Reilly is a mafia romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Teddy Hamilton and Emma Wilder. This is the second book in The Camorra Chronicles.
I absolutely love Cora’s books! They always pull me in and I can’t I put them down. I really enjoyed the relationship between Nino and Kiara. Kiara story was heartbreaking but it was great to see her become a stronger woman with the support from Nino. I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Twisted Pride so I can get Remo and Serafina’s story.
Teddy and Emma did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life.
I would recommend this book if you like Mafia Romances or Arranged Marriages.

“You ripped this dead part of my past from me and I revived. I didn’t live either… until you.”
#Niara is a thing! For me is hard to be unbiased when it comes to this couple because the hold a very special place in my heart. After all, they are my favorites! But I will try to put that aside for a moment a focus on the story.
I have read this book countless times by now and I have enjoyed it every single time. An audiobook is a separate experience altogether but for me it didn’t change my original thoughts of this book. I strongly believe that both of Nino and Kiara’s books are among the best books Cora has ever written. I loved that we are able to see each character separately before their wedding and it made it so easy to relate to them even if just a bit, Nino is a bit complicated…
It is kind of a slow burn due to what happened to Kiara, but that’s the beauty of their story. His patience and understanding when it came to her fears and how he actually helped her to overcome them(even if they were never forgotten), and as a result, they had an epic romance. They are just wonderful. And it goes but ways my girl Kiki, was able to slowly but surely get in Nino’s brain and ultimately heart.
I completely recommend this book, it’s one you do not want to miss!
Hope you like my review, remember reading and enjoying stories it’s in the eye of the beholder. Be kind.

Kiara Vitiello is born in the Famiglia, New York which makes Luca her Capo (and cousin). Her father betrayed the Capo he paid with his life for it. After the betrayal of her father she moves in with her aunt and uncle. To prevent war between the Famiglia ( New York) and Camorra (Las Vegas) Kiara has to marry Nino. The brother of the Capo of the Camorra. There aren’t many good stories going around about Kiara’s soon to be husband.
Kiara and Nino both have a trouble past with effect there present.
I have always loved Cora’s books but nothing comes close to these two.
Kiara and Nino have officially stole my heart. Nino has no emotions but is willing to stimulate it for Kiara. Kiara is the opposite of Nino is this case, she feels everything. Her being so emotional makes Kiara the woman that she is. The way they grown together is so amazing.
Kiara is having a hard time in Las Vegas, she didn’t just move away from her family but also started living with 4 boys. Nino does everything in his power so that Kiara feels at home in Las Vegas. He does everything at the past that Kiara wants to go in.
I would think reading about such a different characters I would dislike one of them but that isn’t the case at all. I loved them separated almost just as much as I did together.
Overall there isn’t a very heavy plot going on besides the romance, but if I’m honest that’s all I wanted from these two.
Cora said that writing Nino was the most difficult character the wrote. When is read that I had a hard time believing it. She did such a good job with Nino.
Just thinking about these two and the moments they shared makes my heart melt.
At that moment Kiara and Nino are the only one with a second book in the Camorra series. And they deserve It more than any couple I ever read about.
This is a complicated and compelling read. I have enjoyed the world the author created first in the Born in Blood series and now in the Camorra series. I have hated the sloppy shape some of the books were in. The author has obviously translated to English without having an English speaking proofer or editor. I proofed all the books and left the edits on goodread’s within the notes. The price of the books isn’t cheap and being constantly interrupted by wrong words, wrong tenses, missing words, bad grammar, etc was infuriating, especially when the story itself was terrific. This particular story does have edits, for sure, not as many as some of the other books so it was tolerable but to the author I would say: “it shows a great lack of respect for your English readers and for your own work to present it to your readers in a sloppy state. Editing is part of being an author and not a step to be missed. If you translate to another language and sell to readers for a good price they have a right to expect it has been properly and sufficiently edited/proofed in the language you are selling it in!”
5 stars for Kiara and Nino!
The Falcones will own your heart!
Nino certainly owns mine. He’s unlike any hero I’ve ever read. Driven by logic, emotions are uncharted territory for Nino Falcone. No woman can handle a man without emotions, they say. Until they meet Kiara Vitiello soon to be Falcone.
Kiara Vitiello, cousin to Luca
—Capo of the Famiglia— has a sordid past. An arranged marriage is the last thing she wants. Especially if it means she’ll have to live with the mosters of Las Vegas.
She dreads her upcoming wedding night, the moment her husband claims her and realises she’s not the innocent woman he agreed to marry.
Her aversion to human touch -specifically a man’s touch- gives Nino all the answers he needs. He’s willing to give her space, and she couldn’t be more relieved with his decision to relieve his sexual tension to mistresses and not seek her company in bed.
But her relief is quickly replaced by a confusing feeling of need. She finds herself wanting Nino’s attention, and even his touch. Eventually, she finds the courage to reveal her attraction to Nino hoping to build a real marriage between them. Lust seems like a good start.
Nino is patient with Kiara, willing to follow her own pace if it means freeing her from her haunted past. He, as well, battles with his own demons. Maybe all they need to free themselves from their past is each other.
‘ “I know our pasts hold horrors, but we can get beyond that, don’t you think?” ‘
His lust for his wife is evident, but that’s the only true feeling Kiara ever receives from Nino. He’s willing to stimulate emotion for her sake, faking affection towards her, but as he soon realises himself, he doesn’t really have to fake anything. Because Kiara wakes something in him, something he thought was long dead. Love.
.
.
‘ “Stop it,” I whispered harshly.
“You are too good at this. Too good at simulating affection, at pretending that you care for me. So good, sometimes, I almost believe you could really love me, Nino.” Tears welled in my eyes.
“Maybe I don’t have to simulate,” he said in that smooth voice. “Maybe I love you.” ‘
I’m completely in love with Nino & Kiara’ story
Nino’ s tenderness was totally unexpected, and made my heart melt…
The brotherhood this men share Is something extraordinary.
And men, who knew Falcones could be so funny?? In a creepy way, but still funny
I can tell this series is way better than the Born in Blood’ s
Nino and Kiara are the bedt couple I have ever read!!
Liked it a lot “Twisted Emotions”. I really enjoyed Nino and Kiara story. It surprised me a lot because it wasn’t what I expecting about the characters and the plot but ended up loving it.
Definitely Nino and Kiara are made for each other. They both have gone for traumatic experiences and together will start healing without even realizing that it’s happening.
Nino is rational, practical besides being totally hot. He can’t feel emotions but pain and pleasure and enjoy violence. Kiara should be scared to death with a husband like that. However there’s more than meet the eye and this story is no only full of steamy scenes but also touching, sweet and emotional moments.
The Falcone brothers are a very complicated and powerful men fighting for what they think is their born right of ruling over Las Vegas. And in the process they start allying with important families that make the plot more and more interesting and worth reading.
