This is an arranged marriage mafia romance. Two tragic souls with a broken past, both abused and their future shrouded the consequences of their brokenness. Remo will always be my favourite Falcone brother and Nino has a special place in my heart, infact these Camorra brothers are everything how mafia brothers should rule and be loyal.
Nino Falcone agrees to marry to strengthen the ties with the Famiglia. If you remember Kiara Vitiello who came in Bound of Love and a little bit in Sweet Temptation, her traitor father was killed by her cousin Luca. Kiara is 19-years-old and is of marriage age. Her reputation is ruined because of her father and she is always looked down by her adopted family and the people around. Marrying Nino scares her for his reputation is dangerous and also she hides a secret that may kill her.
Nino is detached and emotionless. He expects nothing else other than to take a wife for duty. Kiara is stuck in a nighmare that happened years ago, to live among the Camorra brothers and an emotionless husband, Kiara was terrified. When Nino found out about Kiara’s past he gave her justice. He is so understanding and gentle, gives her assurance that she is safe with his family and helps her overcome her fears. I love the Camorra brothers moments – Savio and Adamo fighting and Remo’s psychotic wickedness.
Twisted Emotions is a sequel of Nino and Kiara. I recommend reading this series to those who enjoy mafia genre.
I fell in love with Keira and Nino.
Kiara is the cousin of the Capo of the New York Famiglia and daughter of a traitor. When she is offered in marriage to the brother of the Capo of the Camorra, it is her only chance to bring honor to her name. Nino is a cold and calculating man, loyal to his family. He knows that his marriage will create an alliance that will allow his brother to attack the Chicago Outfit. Kiara believes she’s unworthy after something devastating happened to her when she was still a child. She’s afraid of all men, especially her husband, a man known for his ruthlessness and lack of emotions. Nino has also been betrayed by the person closest to him and has blocked all his emotions. Will their marriage unite or destroy them? A steamy and emotional read, Twisted Emotions is a novel with original characters, who have amazing chemistry! Kiara and Nino seem so different at first but as we learn more about them and their past, we realize that they’ve both been hurt and have chosen different ways to deal with their pain. Together they have a chance to learn to feel again.
I’m an emotional mess right now – on the highest possible level.
I have no words LITERALLY, and I feel so overwhelmed. I can’t remember my name. I can’t remember what I have done today. I’m.a train wreck because Nino and His sweet Girl.
This book, like the others in series is very intense adventure. But… I didn’t expect how deep this story will grow into my heart.
It was all about bad mobsters around. And about crossing lots of bonduaries BUT OMG !!!! Emotions just blowed up my mind because of ALL THE BEAUTIFULL BUT PAINFULL LOVE. My heart crushed into milion pieces… of course Nino and Kiara put them together, they made everything ok. In the most wonderfull way ever, but I cant do anything… The only thing I’m able to is to hide alone in the corner to bawl my eyes out.
Dear Friend- BOOKHANGOVER Welcome back.
A must readt title!!!
Nino and Kiara will always be one of my favourite couples in this mafia world. Both Nino and Kiara’s stories are heartbreakingly sad. My heart broke, especially for Kiara. Nino was the perfect man for Kiara. He protected her and slayed her childhood demons. In return, she made him feel things he never thought was possible.
Nino is dark and cold. He is a very complex character. He never show any emotions except when he is with Kiara. Their relationship was so light and precious in a very dark and brutal world. They are perfect together. Their story is amazing. I also really loved the bond between Nino and his brothers. I loved how they all accepted and cared for Kiara in their own twisted way. Remo is crazy, but I loved his moments with Kiara.
Their story was beautifully written. I loved how caring and protective Nino is with Kiara. They complement each other perfectly. Kiara is the only person in this world for Nino. My heart is so happy for them.
I’m a MASSIVE Cora fan. I love her mafia stories, and I’ve re-read the Aria-Luca centered books countless times. But y’all, Nino and Kiara are my new #1’s. I’m obsessed with their story, their chemistry, the unique and powerful ways they somehow heal each other.
Kiara’s story begins with heart break and trauma. Like so many of our leading ladies, she’s victimized, oppressed, and silenced by the mafia patriarchal traditions, but to make it even more challenges, Kiara is not only Luca’s cousin but the daughter of a traitor. As if this path wasn’t enough, she suffers a painful trauma that makes her apprehensive around mafia men, a secret she holds from those around her. Luca decides to accept Remo’s offer to make somewhat of a truce with the Falcones through marriage to his brother and second hand man, Nino, but their brutality and insanity are so notorious that he has limited options of illegible women that are important enough to placate Remo (and not insult Nino by a low ranking woman) but also not important enough to the famiglia to thrust such a scary fate. So, Kiara, who is both his cousin and disgraced by his father at and his mercy. And, thus, Kiara finds herself in an arranged marriage with the cold, calculating, methodical Nino, brother of the notoriously unhinged Remo- both of whom are particularly scary to a woman of Kiara’s nature and history.
The storyline from here may seem familiar- virgin marriage in an unwanted arranged marriage to a man that intimidates and scares her, new bride is immediately thrust into new life while trying to reconcile her identity and budding care for alpha mafia husband, a buffet of savory secondary characters who will likely be the future stars of our stories, and a dash of mafia intrigue. Cora has perfected the formula – but here, it is fresh and invigorating because of the fabulous leading characters and the beautiful, artful, subtle and sweet way their connection is constructed.
The real heart of this story is Kiara. I love her SO much. She’s everything I want in a heroine, and everything that this crazy Falcone boys need. She’s more gentle, kind, and passive than some of our leading ladies, but she’s not a push over either- she’s empathetic, kind, and caring. She’s scarred by her past, but she’s still vulnerable and open. She has this incredible ability to see people for who they are and what they need- what is under the surface, perhaps because she went so unseen for so long, and as such, we get to see her form intimate, unique, and authetic connections with all of Nino’s brothers- because of her care, because she sees not just their crazy but their hurt, humor, and motivations, and because despite all that’s happened to her, she’s willing to risk her own emotional safety to show tenderness for others. She’s so endearing- so heartfelt and soulful, even in her more demure and stoic way- and even though she might be more gentle she’s still expressive- she starts to come out of her shell and play with the boys, ask for what she needs, and stand up for herself with kindness. She is by far the most fully realized, three dimensional heroine in Cora’s arsenal- so dynamic, specific, interesting, and palpable as a person, not just a characterization. She’s pure light- and I loved not just her story with Nino but the way in which we see her become a true Falcone family member- the softness they need to balance out their edge.
And Nino. Wow. He, too, has a history full of trauma and pain. Unlike Kiara who is basically swimming in insecurities and emotions which she channels into care and kindess, Nino has basically repressed the emotional side of himself. He’s the ice to Remo’s fire- calculating, rational, logical, scientific even. As such, he’s good at figuring things out- dissecting them, which is fortunate because he learns how to read Kiara and her emotional responses in ways that he can process. But, we soon find that even his cold methodicalness is lovable and romantic- he defends and cares for Kiara in ways that her own blood won’t even, and their relationship starts with great communication, kindness, mutual respect, and tenderness- even if their marriage isn’t quite what either would think.
Their differences make for the main central conflict of our book (which I always appreciate- the relational challenges and psychological studies are more interesting to me than mafia action)- all Kiara needs is to be protected, truly seen and valued, and loved- yet Nino has no love to give, his squashed his emotions. But, he’s loyal, has honor and integrity, which shapes his initial connection with his delicate bride. And, as he starts to evolve, Nino stole my heart. He’s mine- I claim him. He’s so careful, considerate, and protective of her- tender and gentle when he’s not like this with anyone else. And, he accepts and sees her without judgment or expectation. Truly powerful, and deeply swoonworthy.
This is by far one of my favorite reads of all time, and the best that Cora’s written. Like all authors, the story isn’t perfect, in fact, this one ended a bit abruptly for my taste and felt like the ending is missing (but this is because we have Twisted Emotions to continue it), but all that matters is that Cora has created such a beautiful pairing- two wounded, traumatized souls that somehow through their care and respect of each other not only find ways to heal their own hearts, to open them and to evolve as people as they grow as a pair, but they also find the love that neither thought they could ever give or would ever have. When Cora really invests in the slow emotional arc of a relationship, her characters shine. Cora and Nino certainly have that dynamic attraction to each other, but their love progresses over time- page by page, conversation by conversation, tidbit by tibit, until it sneaks up on both of them (and us) and just feels so fulfilling and beautiful.
This book will permanently be on my kindle- and Kiara and Nino have set my new standard for mafia romances.
When I started reading this book I was immediately captivated. As always Cora Reilly showed her talent again by creating this magnificent arranged marriage story.
Nino, it’s amazing how an emotionless man shows being protective and loyal to his family. Kiara is a woman who was initially scary but smart and strong, demonstrating that she would not be overcome by her past, their relationship is what they both needed at the right times.
A book 100% recommended one of my favorites Cora Reilly I congratulate you again for your creativity.
I was gripped by this book from the very start as it was so alike in style to Cora’s previous books but different at the same time. The two main characters were both tortured souls who tugged on to my heart strings, they were both broken in ways that only the other could help to fix. Cora truly has a way with words, it felt as though I was experiencing Kiara’s emotions as I read each page, my heart clenched and broke for her as she tried to move on from her tragic past. Nino is a strong alpha male, who helps to empower and strengthen Kiara, and the build-up of their relationship and the trust between them is what makes the two my current favourite couple within the Born in Blood and Camorra series. Once again Cora won me over and made me fall in love with the complicated Falcone family.
When love can change a person. When the unfeeling learns to feel again. When he’s not the monster everyone thinks he is.
Twisted Emotions is a Mafia Romance and an emotional read.
Kiara has spent the last six years of her life being ignored and put down because her father was a trader. When she’s afforded a arrange marriage she jumps at the chance of a fresh start.
Nino is the second in command of the Las Vegas Camorra. When his Capo and brother offer a arrange marriage he agrees.
With Kiara suffering affects of abuse and Nino’s own damaged past these two have a lot to overcome.
Definitely an emotional read may contain triggers for some readers. There is violence and abuse but there’s also an incredible story of two people who strive to overcome hardship.
Okay, another genius story. The things that I had problem with in Cora’s previous books are the main heroines and plots. Here we have the second perfection that she published.
There is no thing that you won’t like about Kiara. She is the most complex (psychologically) character that was ever created (in Cora’s books ofc). I haven’t met any person that happened to not like her. She is cute, sweet, caring and strong at the same time. We can see her development throughout the book and I love it.
And Nino? Oh. My. God. He is a genius. And Cora was a genius when she created him. He is so complex. So dark. And yet so lovely. And so… precious. I still love Fabiano more than him, but as you get deep inside his thoughts, you will simply love him and want one for yourself.
I don’t have any comments in terms of plot. It was as genius as the creation of main characters and I absolutely love it.
Once you will start reading, you will get so into that, that there is no way of escaping. So better save yourselves a few hours, get a huge cup of hot chocolate and place yourselves in comfortable armchair, because I can guarantee that you won’t get up for a long time.
NINO AND KIARA! OH, THE FEELS!
I love this couple so much! The progression of their love was so heartwarming and beautiful that I constantly re-read it. If you’re looking for a Mafia story where the husband truly loves and cares for his wife, this is the one for you!
I love it the book it’s amazing, Nino
Nino Falcone the second of the Falcone brothers, The Consigliere de la Camorra the Las Vegas mafia, Nino is a cold man without emotions, has no emotions or feelings, to reach a truce with NY, Remo and Luca agree to make a marriage arranged between Nino and Kiara, the 2 are very different people but each one has its own ghosts, the story just enchanted me, Nino surprised me so much and in such a pleasant way, I loved all Falcone and his family environment I loved knowing more of them since in the previous book I had them in another concept and even feared them, it was good to know them and realize how they are in the privacy of their home, the relationship between the protagonists grows so slowly and naturally that it is easy for you to fall in love with Kiara de Nino, Nino won my heart I did not expect that the character so cold could be so adorable and wonderful and became an incredible being the way to protect and care for his wife is incredible at the moment that Kiara gave the “if I accept” she becomes one of the people that Nino would care for and protect unconditionally became something very valuable, that would take care and protect over all things, the way to take care of her and protect her is wonderful simply LOVE NINO, the book is sincerely incredible, agile and easy to read the story as always with this author, it catches you in such a way that you cannot stop and leaves you wanting to continue with the story of the next brother.
The best part of this book was watching Kiara slowly overcoming her fears and finally realizing her worth. She didn’t deserve what happened to her and it’s amazing to see that now she’s free of her past.
Nino was such an intense character, which is funny because he supposedly had no emotions. I liked that he realized his past still held some power over him too and that in the end he wasn’t afraid to admit his feelings for Kiara.
Also, the patience and tenderness Nino had with Kiara was everything. I loved their development and I can honestly say that this is the best couple Cora has created so far.
– Remo, Nino and Fabiano’s dynamic was so funny. I want more scenes between them!
– Nino making Harry Potter references to Kiara and reading HP to Adamo when he was little. How am I supposed to not love this man?
– Dante and Luca WISH they had Remo’s power lmao His past, humor, loyalty and protectiveness towards his brothers and now Kiara makes him an amazing and complex character. I hope his book won’t disappoint me.
– ADAMO FALCONE! I have no words to explain how soft and precious this boy is. He’s definitely my favorite Falcone brother and he deserves the world. I’m scared to see what will happen to him after his induction.
– The only one I really don’t like is Savio. I found him boring and predictable.
Twisted Emotions has really moved my heart. Cora Reilly has exploded yet again with another book to the Camorra series. Kiara Vitello is a woman deeply scarred by the demons of her past and Nino Falcone is the emotionless Consigliere of the Camorra. These two were arranged to marry to attempt to bring peace between the Camorra and the Famiglia. This book was something I could not put down not even for a second. Both characters are both strong and unique characters. Each character developed very well in their own way. There is so much pain and darkness, yet you can still find the beauty in each of these stories and characters. I normally buy my books as in E-book version but I could not help but get the book physically. This was beautifully written and it will move you to the core.
Nino and Kiera’s story was amazing. I really wasn’t expecting this one especially with how Nino is/was. I secretly loved how he avenged her and was so patient!! He can love and feel but only for her. I love the dynamic of the brothers too. Let me tell you I cannot wait for Remo’s book it is going to be epic!!
I’m big sucker for arranged marriage trope and there is something about the way Cora Reilly writes it.She has a talent to put together the two most different people possible. And Nino and Kiara couldn’t be more different.
Kiara from the age 12 was labeled as a “traitor’s daughter”.That plus a horrible trauma that she’s endured made her weak, shy and submissive. She is scared and it’s wearing her emotions on her sleeve. So when she finds out that she is to marry Nino Falcone,Kiara is beyond scarred.
And who wouldn’t be Nino is one really scary person. But I loved him.
He is genius, calculating and cold. Most of all he is very patient person.I was actually surprised. Nino can’t feel but he is wiling to try for Kiara. He tries to build her self-confidence,include her into Falcone family and build some kind of relationship with her.
It was nice to read all of those moments between them. They are so different but they are both harboring traumas from their past that they need to overcame.
Honestly,they are great together.
The only thing that I missed was action. It’s a mob book so I wanted to see some bloody action and that’s a reason for four stars. This book was very slow burning romance and I just missed the exciting part, that’s all.
Also, can we talk about Falcone brothers?I can’t say who I want to read more.Remo is next but I’m actually the most excited about Adamo. They are all crazy in their own way and I can’t wait to read more of them.
These beautiful, broken characters had me so wrapped up in their story. My heart was breaking for both of them and hoping for healing to take place so that they could move on.
I was so excited about this book from the start. Nino and Kiara are both thrown into this marriage, and they know the stakes. Nino was so great. I loved the technical way he talked and how he was upfront and honest from the start. He wasn’t rude or demanding of Kiara. He was patient, kind, and protective. Even without emotions, he still was able to portray his feelings and express his thoughts. I loved how his emotions would sneak up on him and give him a glimpse of true happiness.
Kiara was very submissive from her upbringing, but watching her take charge of her opinions and life was so amazing. The journey showed strength and unconditional love. At the end, she gained confidence and became a stronger version of herself. Her growth and healing proved that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
The journey these two took was absolutely beautiful. Watching them both go through changes and become each other’s rock made for the perfect slow burn romance.
All of the secondary characters from the first book made an appearance in this book. The overall storyline from book 1 is still continuing, and you get more insight to the other brothers. I cannot wait for Remo’s book. He is full of emotion and fire. It is going to be nice to see him channel towards a woman instead of violence. This series has sucked me in, and I cannot wait to see where it takes me.
If you enjoy Mafia stories, then this book is for you. It is dark as it is romantically engaging.
Nino cannot feel emotions. Events in his past have forged him into an intelligent, logical, and unemotional man. When I say unemotional, I mean no feelings whatsoever! This is what makes him the perfect Consiglieri to his Capo and brother Remo. Together, they are Ice and Fire. Two extremes that make a perfect combination.
Marrying Kiara was a tactical move. The Camorra and The Famiglia would now have a point of allegiance to base the truce on. This was only the beginning to a far more complex strategic move to disrupt The Outfit. What they did not count on was the complication Kiara would bring to their way of living.
Nino and Kiara’s union started as a complex proposition. It then developed into an overpowering blaze that you will not soon forget. This is not to be missed.
I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.
If you like Mob books, then you should definitely start reading Cora Reilly’s books. I would recommend to start at the beginning of the series.
