To the world, I no longer exist. The life I live occurs outside the third dimension—a memory, a ghost, the boogeyman, or perhaps simply a figment of the imagination. When I’m passed on the street, there is no connection. No eye contact.I’m the one whose presence leaves a cold chill of uncertainty, quickly erased by minds who don’t want to acknowledge that men like me exist. On the dark web, I’m known … exist.
On the dark web, I’m known as Kader, and for the right price, I will do what others can’t or won’t.
I’ve learned to exist within the hard shell I’ve created—until I see her.
Laurel Carlson.
Her blue eyes see beyond my impenetrable exterior.
Her sensual lips long to be kissed and her hidden curves caressed.
My mind is obsessed and my body ignited.
Though I exist outside her comfort zone, I must enter her world, take the chance, and learn what it is about this beautiful, intelligent, and marked woman that has me entranced—before her time is up.
From New York Times bestselling author Aleatha Romig comes her most dangerous anti-hero yet, set in the dark and dangerous underworld of the Sparrow Webs. You do not need to read the Web of Sin or Web of Desire trilogies to get caught in this intriguing romantic suspense saga, Tangled Web.

Have you been Aleatha’d?

Twisted was my first Aleatha Romig novel and it was incredible. Mystery, suspense and non stop action, this story had me at the edge of my seat throughout. I was hooked and unable to put it down. The story was well-crafted and layered with twists and turns you wont see coming. The characters will intrigue you and will have you wanting to know more and that ending will stun you.
I listened to the audible version of this novel which was narrated by Charlotte North and Jacob Morgan. These two were amazing together, they brought the story to life and I enjoyed listening to their narration.
Twisted was a fantastic read. I can’t wait for the next book and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of romantic suspense.
Twisted is the first book in a new series and it will grab you right from the start. It states that this book is from the same underworld from the author’s Secrets from the Web of Sin Trilogy. I have not read that series as of yet and was not lost at all in this listening to this book.
Charlotte North and Jacob Morgan did a wonderful job with narrating. They put so much emotion in their narration that it adds to the intrigue of the story.
Laurel Carlson doesn’t understand what is going on with all the interest in her research and doesn’t know what to believe or who to trust.
Kadar was sent to do a job but something about Laurel has him doing things that he doesn’t do.
This book has so many twist and turns that even as a listener you are right there with Laurel not knowing who to trust and what to believe. Kadar is a mystery man and i can’t wait to learn more about who he is in the future books in this series. I can’t wait to listen to them and I hope that the same narrators will be narrating them because they really bring the book to life.
The Queen of the Antihero! The Empress of Dark! The Ruler of the Underworld! Aleatha Romig is all that and more. Every time I read a story from her I have no idea where I will end.
Kader lays low and moves through the darkness of the underworld undetected. Emotions don’t exist in his world. Begging does not faze him. The mission must always be accomplished, regardless . . .
Laurel is brilliant. She’s strong, she’s determined, and she does not scare easily. Her strength and stubbornness may be her downfall in one aspect and her saving grace in another.
The combination of Kader and Laurel prove to be a source to be reckoned with. It seems they fight hard but play harder all while leaning to trust each other. And how much of a cost will that trust come with?
Once again, Aleatha has my head spinning, losing sleep, and questioning everything I think I know about certain characters. I like them! Do I like them? They are good people! Are they who I think they are? OMG, did they do that?
As I sit back and watch this series play out the one thing I know I will not do is make assumptions, because there are no guarantees when you’ve been Aleatha’d! All you can do is hold on for the ride and try not to get Twisted.
Awesome series, a must read!!
The start of a new series for Aleatha but set in the same world as Web of Sin – I really enjoyed this one, a great start to a new series, very intriguing, lots of drama and twists and turns in the plot, lots of secrets yet to be uncovered!!
Kader is pure and simple an assassin, but has been improved and developed over the years and his appearance altered and his memories wiped. He is a survivor, a hunter, frightened of nothing, he lives for the job, skilled in ways you can’t imagine, controlled and deadly. Until Dr Laurel Carlson becomes his job – his job is to kill her, but he goes with his gut feeling and changes his plans, and ends up saving and protecting her.
Dr Laurel Carlson is a brilliant scientist spending all her day in the university labs doing tests and trials in the hope of making something that will help others. They’re at a crucial point in their tests and more backing is needed. At a function she meets a dark, handsome, powerful stranger that throws her in a spin, she is attracted to him and can’t get him out of her head, but there is also something eerily familiar about him that she just can’t place. Little does she know how much danger she is in and how much she is going to need his help.
I really enjoyed this, it was really intriguing and the story drew me in there is still so much left to uncover – a great start to a new series, I can’t wait to read more!
Aletha Romig is a master at suspenseful romance. Twisted is the first of book of a trilogy. Something or someone is interfering with the research project Laurel Carlson and her associates are working on, things are starting to get a little crazy. The mysterious Kader appears to come to the rescue of Laurel. He seems to have information he has not yet shared. It also appears that Laurel and Kader may have some type of history. With each page there are more questions. Waiting on book two Obsessed.
ღ TWISTED is the first installment in Aleatha Romig’s new series
I don’t know about the other readers, but I felt like I was reading mystery psychological thriller from the first page. But at the same time, I felt like we were missing something if that makes any sense. The storyline is compelling enough to keep the pages turning at a rapid pace, & at those times when I couldn’t, still managing to inhabit my thoughts. I know we still have so much to uncover about these two in the upcoming books. So, I will definitely be reading the next book in this series. I believe that the next book will open my eyes more to understand Kader
Books in Tangled Web trilogy should be read in order:

Book 3: Bound – Expected Publication: August 13th 2019
Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my

Paulette Review
Captivating characters with an undeniable chemistry between them. A strong, intelligent, resilient female lead, Laurel, and a mysterious anti-hero male lead Kader. Next, add to that a spellbinding tale of drama, intrigue and suspense with all the twists and turns that you’ve come to expect from the ‘darker side’ of Ms. Romig’s and you have another great page turner! Cannot wait for book two in the series!!!
Whew! What a page turner! I love Aleatha’s writing and I absolutely love this story!!
Wow! Mystery, danger, excitement, what a start to the Tangled Web trilogy! I need more Laurel and Kader! Kader, wow! I can’t wait for more of him and his story. Great twists and an exciting plot. I couldn’t put this story down. It’s fantastic!
Ummmmm what did I just read?!?! Kader and Laurel and that ending!!!!! And all the in-betweens has me scratching my head and oh my. Laurel is too good and trustworthy that she doesn’t realize she’s in danger because of her job until she meets Kader. They had an intense attraction when they met but it was not your ordinary attraction. These two were so opposite from each other that on paper they made no sense whatsoever. But the intensity of their connection was unexplainable and made this story even better. There are so many players involved and I have no idea who’s behind what. I need Book 2 like yesterday!!!!
My what a twisted tale she can weave! Aleatha can lead you down a twisted path and change your train of thoughts quicker than you can turn the page! This is one mind bender of a story and I loved it! There is of course plenty of hot, steamy, curl your toes sexy time along with the what in the world is going on?
Dr. Laurel Carlson has been working on an innovative new drug that could change the lives of many for the better. If in the wrong hands, it could do great harm. Kader works for the underground of Chicago and is hired to stop the drug from being manufactured. When these two come together, there is an instant connection, actually even before they meet! And Kader, who lives by the rules always, finds himself breaking them and changing things because of Laurel. These two together are perfect, in spite of all the chaos going on around them. Poor Laurel doesn’t know who to trust, and Kader doesn’t want to be attracted to Laurel. The walls start to crumble little by little. I love it!
There are so many secrets, so many twists, like I said earlier, you can’t put the book down. If you have read the Consequences series, some new twist always appears to change what you thought was true! That is what is called being Aleatha’ed! She is famous for it!!
Twisted is the first book in the Tangled Web series and ends in a cliffhanger, but it shouldn’t be long until the next book comes out! There are two more that promise to live up to the expectations I know Aleatha always delivers! I will be anxiously waiting!! As always, another 5+ Star Read!!
Twisted is the first book in a 3-part series. It ends with a cliff hanger. If dark and twisted romantic suspense is your catnip, this is a good one. The heroine, Laurel Carlson, is a brilliant scientist on the verge of medical break through. She and her research partner have discovered and are testing a compound that will help treat PTSD. Everyone is interested in this compound from the US government to shady pharmaceutical companies. And there are some that don’t want to the compound to ever see the light of day. Laurel finds herself in danger, not knowing who to trust. She can’t fight her attraction to the mysterious Kader, a man who is protecting her but who may have ulterior motives. Romig takes readers on a wild ride–you literally have no clue who is friend or enemy.
I have finally been Aleatha’d! What a thrilling book! From the moment it started, the reader can feel the low thrum of suspense. Kader is a menacing presence and yet, Laurel affects him in a strange way, to the extent that it makes him change his plans. When Lauren sees him for the first time, she’s also affected by his presence, like a deja vu, like someone she used to know. Where other persons would evade his presence, she looks him straight to the eyes and is not afraid of his aura of danger.
Laurel is working on an investigation of a medication that could help people who suffer traumatic incidents. The medication works by suppressing the memories attached to the trauma and allowing the victims to live a normal, healthy life. The investigation is showing promising results, but there is a lot of work to be done, and they need a lot of money to fund the investigation and the clinical trials. A fund raiser, planned by the University of Indianapolis, raises strange foreboding in Laurel, and a bad premonition in Kader. Kader is like a thug for rent, sent to stop the research effort and to target Laurel. After the activity, a series of events occur, which are not too clear to the reader, but one thing is certain: Laurel is in danger, the investigation has raised the attention of groups that want it for nefarious purposes and Kader rises to the rescue.
At the moment the book ends, we still don’t know what position the other characters play in the scheme, we don’t know who are the bad ones, and where the plot will go, but one thing we do know: Kader will protect Laurel. I loved the suspenseful environment and being kept in the dark, with more questions than answers. There were some high-adrenaline moments where the danger was touch and go. It was full of action, riveting reading and a one sentence cliff hanger that made me desperate for book two!
This book grabbed me on page one and didn’t let go. I can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the trilogy. A must read.
