To the world, I no longer exist. The life I live occurs outside the third dimension—a memory, a ghost, the boogeyman, or perhaps simply a figment of the imagination. When I’m passed on the street, there is no connection. No eye contact.I’m the one whose presence leaves a cold chill of uncertainty, quickly erased by minds who don’t want to acknowledge that men like me exist. On the dark web, I’m known … exist.
On the dark web, I’m known as Kader, and for the right price, I will do what others can’t or won’t.
I’ve learned to exist within the hard shell I’ve created—until I see her.
Laurel Carlson.
Her blue eyes see beyond my impenetrable exterior.
Her sensual lips long to be kissed and her hidden curves caressed.
My mind is obsessed and my body ignited.
Though I exist outside her comfort zone, I must enter her world, take the chance, and learn what it is about this beautiful, intelligent, and marked woman that has me entranced—before her time is up.

**FULL REVIEW**
HOLY MOTHER OF…
When I began this story, I have to be honest…it didn’t catch me. The beginning felt lack-luster, slow.
But, I kept reading because I just knew this slow beginning was temporary.
And in true Aleatha fashion, after just a few chapters…I WAS HOOKED.
So hooked I couldn’t stop thinking about it even when I wasn’t able to read it. So hooked that once I could open my kindle app back up to read, I didn’t stop until I read the last line.
And what a last line it was…
So, about this story: Kadar and Laurel are my new obsession. So many questions, so few answers, such a fabulous setup…and the chemistry? Off the charts.
The best part is, there is no climax…just a cliff-hanger, and a lot of frustration.
Surrounded by people she thought she could trust, Laurel quickly realizes things aren’t as they seem and people she thought she knew, people she shared her secrets with, her bed with…well, let’s just say more people have something to gain than she has to lose.
Except she doesn’t know or understand the depth of her findings…or the price she may have to pay for it.
And Kadar? Well, he’s still a mystery. One that I cannot wait to learn more about…and I know Laurel feels the same. The connection between them is something neither can figure out, but both need to explore. I just hope they get to fully EXPLORE just how far back their history goes.
As for the rest of the story, you’ll have to read it and find out exactly what a Tangled Web Romig has weaved…it’s certainly Twisted and quite amazing.
**4 In the Name of Research, Stars**
What can you say about the amazing Aleatha Romig. This book grabs you within the first page and don’t release you til the final page. Can’t wait for the next installment.
Sit down, buckle up, and get ready for a ride. The moment you think you have things figured out they change on you. This book is everything you have come to love and more. I pick this book up and read straight through. I felt like I was taken to a different place to watch as things unfolded in Twisted. I’m still reeling. I recommend this book to everyone and only have one thing to say! Have you been ALEATHA’d?
I went into Twisted blind. I must admit I was a little confused the first couple of chapters like I’ve been missing a huge chunk of the story. But then it took a turn that left my jaw dropped permanently. Aleatha Romig knows how to weave a web of mysteries around her characters (very much in love with Kader) and around the plot as well (give us book two, pretty please). I found myself holding breath in the most not-so-scary situations. Goose bumps. High blood pressure. My survival mode kicked in. Funny thing there wasn’t a real reason for my unreasonable reaction. Not sure how to explain it. Anyway, read the book, and you might thank me later (or not).
4 Stars!
Kader is a big, intimidating, dangerous man who had a reputation in the dark web for determining the destiny of others. He was a survivor and a hunter who never put himself in the spotlight, and preferred to live in the shadows. Nothing frightened him, and he had nothing to lose. He’d once paid the ultimate price and now has had a rebirth as an adult. The man he used to be no longer exists, and he goes where the jobs take him. He’s skilled, lethal, always in control, and likes his anonymity. Then he decides to do something he’s never done, and alter his plans. Dr. Laurel Carlson was only supposed to be a job, but he follows his gut instincts where she’s concerned, and changes course with his assignment. He couldn’t explain it, but something was different about her. He rarely crossed the boundaries he set for himself, but she was the exception to all his rules. He was fascinated with her, and for some unknown reason he trusted her.
Dr. Laurel Carlson lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, and spends her days in a lab trying to help others. She’s a brilliant scientist who works for a university doing important trials and research. Her entire life is thrown into chaos when she crosses paths with a sexy, mysterious stranger that commands her attention with one look. He was beautiful, powerful, and dangerous, and she couldn’t help how insanely attracted she was to him. It was crazy the way this man affected her, and there was something about him that was hauntingly familiar and unsettling. She couldn’t stop thinking about him, and was drawn to him in a way she couldn’t describe.
As Kader opens his world to Laurel he becomes more obsessed and intrigued by her. She was unaware of her beauty but confident in her intelligence. She believed in good, and he was surrounded by power, money, and evil. She see’s what others don’t and the more he tried to hide, the more she saw. He shouldn’t want her so desperately, but the longer he’s around her the more he desires her and feels the need to protect her.
Twisted is book one of the Tangled Web trilogy, an all new dark romance series by Aleatha Romig set in the same dangerous underworld as Secrets. It’s a book full of danger, mystery, and intrigue. I really enjoyed this story, and look forward to getting more of the delicious, complicated Kader in Obsessed and Bound.
A dark, decadent, twisty read full of heart pounding thrills that produced one hell of a rush! The newest trilogy by Aleatha Romig is turning out to be a real game changer. Twisted has me ALL sorts of twisted up inside! Its hot and sinful and full of secrets that kept me guessing and on my toes. Its a page turner folks!
Kader is my new bad boy obsession! He is incredibly intriguing and has me hooked on his dark possession. I loved the pace to this book too. It was set just so, not too fast and not too slow with the PERFECT amount of tension. Oh goodness and that cliffhanger! Oh dear readers, this book is a shocker and will have you BEGGING and itching to read the next installment.
Twisted gets a PAGE TURNING FIVE HEART POUNDING STARS!
Twisted by Aleatha Romig is the first book in the Tangled Web series and it will captivate you from the beginning. It was full of suspense, chemistry and steaminess. Kadar and Laurel’s journey will pull you right in from the start.
Kadar is a dark man who lives in the shadow and never lets anyone in. Then he saw Laurel. Can he let her in? Laurel is a strong woman who loves her work. When she needs help, Kadar steps in. Their connection is intense and quick. This is the first book in the series, and we learn a bit from both characters. I cannot wait to find more.

Happy reading!
A fantastic beginning to a new series! It pulled me in right away and I ended up reading it in one day. I can’t wait to learn more about Kader’s past and the level that these people are all connected. It’s Aleatha, so I know there’s more going on than meets the eye! My only complaint is that I wanted more 🙂
I have been a longtime fan of Aleatha Romig since her Consequences series and most recently the Web of Sin series, so when I saw that she was writing another deliciously sexy suspenseful trilogy, I could not get aboard fast enough. Kader was so mysterious and compelling. I loved how drawn he was to Laurel without divulging his true intentions. What an amazing rollercoaster ride!
I enjoyed the suspense element and how Laurel and Kader met. And, while I loved their sizzling chemistry, I would have liked to have been given more of an emotional connection between them. Kader felt almost robotic at times and I missed a much-needed sense of warmth from him. I appreciate that he is mysterious, withdrawn and cold but for that to really work for me, I wanted more instances of seeing a crack in his icy facade or more flickers of humanity in him. Laurel was a gamechanger and an exception for him so seeing the emotional fallout from that would have taken this story to the next level for me.
All in all though, I thought this book was fantastic. I was on the edge of my seat reading this story and can’t wait for more. 4 stars! ~Ratula
5 She’s More than an Assignment Stars!!!
Well, I finished this first book in the newest trilogy by Ms. Romig and she’s totally done it again! I’m left with this nagging question of WTH??? I mean I felt this way at the end of book four in a previous series and I can say unequivocally she truly is the queen of cliffies!!
Kader is a man of little words but his presence is overwhelming from his physical being which in and of itself is impressive but the aura that surrounds him definitely gives the “don’t mess with me vibe!” I could feel him jumping off the pages as I read this book. He gave me chills with his frostiness. Laurel on the other hand is a true science geek and I say that in the best way possible. She’s beautiful, but man oh man is she smart! She’s working on something along with her lab partners and the university they work through, that could change the world. Of course what comes with this type of project is secrets and confidential data.
I found myself immersed in their world and I could feel how uncomfortable Laurel was in group settings which is where all the questions begin as we meet Kader for the first time. Ms. Romig does an extraordinary job of bringing us, her readers, into the worlds she creates. I found my heart beating super fast when Laurel sees him for the first time and her encounter with him had me on the edge of my seat!
He’s on a mission and Laurel is his objective…she just doesn’t know it yet. And as is to be expected, there are an immense amount of details that lead up to some very pivotal scenes that result in questions being asked, but not answered. Fear is an emotion that Laurel is facing because she’s not sure who to trust…and let me tell you, she’s right to feel this way because things definitely aren’t as they seem.
What I loved so much though is how Kader becomes almost obsessed about Laurel and all her questions…she’s making him feel when he shouldn’t be…
“For me, conversations weren’t accomplished by speaking. They occurred behind a screen and keyboard. Kader was faceless – the opposite of the truth. Rarely did I have the desire to speak, to talk. That was all different with Laurel. From the first time I saw her picture, she fascinated me. From the screen of my computer, she looked at me. I felt it.”
This world we’ve dived into is one that is complicated, divisive and brutal. And I expect nothing less from this amazing author. At the end of this first book I’m left gasping for air and with questions I’m not sure I want answers to because it’s going to be brutal. What’s Laurel’s reaction to that last line? What does this mean for Kader? Who can be trusted and who is behind his mission? I definitely don’t know the answers but I’m hoping I get some of them in Obsessed. What I do know for certain is I’ve been Aleatha’d and I’m okay with it!!!
Holy moly that was a ride.
I’m still in shock.

Amazing and thrilling
As always, Aleatha Romig has managed to create characters and a suspenseful plot that I start to miss as soon as I finish the book! Twisted is exactly that – it leaves you all twisted up and waiting for the next installment of the series. Kader and Laurel’s story is an intriguing one and one that I am looking forward to learning more about. I was pulled into this story right away and would have loved to just sit and read it in one sitting…if only I had time like that! I really enjoyed getting to know the characters and I wasn’t really sure where the story would lead. And now, after I’ve once again been Aleatha’d I am left hanging at the edge of a cliff, something that for me is one of the best parts of an Aleatha story! I really do not want to give anything away with this one, and I highly recommend just jumping in and enjoying the ride!
Waiting eagerly and somewhat patiently for book #2…
Holy smokes what a way to start a new trilogy! Twisted is book 1 of Aleatha Romig’s new series, Tangled Wed and my oh my does it set us up for the most thrilling web!
Suspense – check
Thriller – check
Mystery – check
Dark – check
Romance – check
Twisted AF – uh, CHECK!
With Twisted, Aleatha has spun one of her most tangled and intriguing webs. It’s the perfect set-up into the story arc of Kader and Laurel, who are intriguing individuals from the start. Their lives collide from the on-set of the story and what plays out is truly a masterpiece. Laurel is a Dr (medical research at a university) & Kader is an assassin-for-hire. Set against the backdrop of medical research, Laurel is on the verge of a huge breakthrough (along with her associates) and there are several players vying for more information regarding her research & discovery. By any means necessary.
Book 2, Obsessed, cannot get here soon enough. I love a good cliffy and Twisted did NOT disappoint but I need answers NOW!!!
Aleatha outdid herself with this new series. Fast paced, spine tingling and steamy, Twisted will surely fire your imagination and have you you guessing the outcome.
I always seem to fall for Aleatha’s alpha’s. Kader is no exception. There is always something so dark, yet redeeming about each and every one of them. I can’t wait to learn more about Kader and Laurel. The plot is Twisted for sure. The chemistry between the two is off the charts. Laurel is put into a situation where she doesn’t know who to trust. Kader is her best option – and she trusts him wholeheartedly. I think there is more to their story…..I think Kader has ALWAYS been the one for Laurel. I can’t wait to see what unfolds in the next book. Have you been Aleatha’d yet?
ARC for honest review. But I’m kinda biased as Aleatha is one of most favorite authors!!!!
I loved this so much! So intriguing and full of questions and more questions. The slow burn between the characters is like a wall between them that they can’t breach. I love the characters! The story is really good as well. The story definitely keeps you guessing and then throws you a curveball. I couldn’t tell which way is up and what was going to happen next! I loved it! I can’t wait for the next part!
Wow! If you love a suspenseful romance with a mysterious alpha hero and a smart, no-nonsense heroine, this is the book for you. Aleatha Romig once again proves she’s the Queen of Dark Romance. Highly recommend this gripping page turner!
Kadar is one of the most mysterious male main characters I have ever read. He had my attention when the author describes him as the perfect combo of Charlie Hunnam, Brad Pitt and Nicolaj Coster-Waldau. He kept my attention with all the walls he has built up. Laurel is a strong independent doctor in the verge of a major breakthrough. Her attraction to Kadar scares her but she can not ignore it. Aleatha yet again creates characters that are unique, complicated and compelling.
In Twisted we get suspense, mystery, sexual tension and heat. We also get a lot of questions. Is Kadar there to save or destroy Laurel? Will Laurel unreavel the mystery surrounding her life’s work while keeping her heart protected? I am looking forward to seeing what other twist and turns the author takes in Obsessed and Bound.
Aleatha is usually pretty good with the twists and turns, but I found this one to be a bit predictable. I am intrigued by the story though and am curious as to the direction it will go.
