04 – DESERT HEART
This is one of my favourite books in this series.
Oh what a lovely story, I was rooting for Tina and Rick from the get go. How sad that Tina had been on her own for so long having to deny her mate as he was human. No wonder she was such a sad person on the inside so much.
Tina is the eldest daughter and everyone just thinks she will always be there to help out, no one actually thinks about Tina. Every now and then one of the other ladies’ comment on her being alone but nothing is ever done to help her or talk to her.
Rick has known to the day how long he has been away from Tina. Years ago he asked Tina to marry him and leave Arizona but he did not know that Tina was a shifter and could not leave the ranch.
A really good story that kept me reading to see what happened next and the solution to Rick being human was inspiring. What an interesting plot line, never saw that coming.
I am really enjoying this series.
04.1 – HAPPILY MATED AFTER
What a really lovely short visit to Tina and Rick. Lovely to see them making up for lost time.
05 – DESERT ROSE
This is a great addition to this series.
I am really enjoying this series and one of my favourite parts is the wolves talking. Even though they are part of a human they all seem to have their own personalities and quirks. I love it when they express their opinion or thoughts.
In this story we have a different type of shifter, a javelina. A wild boar.
Axel was a delight, just the most quiet unassuming man mountain you will ever meet. Loved the rose he made for Beth, better than the words.
Beth we know as part of the pack, but she has always been in the background. This is her story with Axel and it is one of the best I have read.
I found this book an absolute treasure to read and highly recommend it. You do not need to have read the previous books but it will improve your enjoyment if you have.
05.5 – ROSE IN BLOOM
Visiting Beth and Axel again is just so good. I loved these two and Axel is one of my favourite shifters ever. Great to see Beth playing the naughty librarian. Nothing changes in this book, they are both still fantastic and it was lovely to ride along for the journey to see that they will be blessed.
06 – DESERT ROOTS
Not my favourite in this series but still an enjoyable read.
Carly has been a major factor in this series as the half-sister that floats in and out of Twin Moon ranch. This is her story but sorry, I did not like Carly for the majority of this story.
Carly disappointed me, I was not impressed with Carly and her selfish, self-centred attitude. She cannot see she is on a self-destructive path to prove she is not like her mother or father. But she really is like her father, hurting people by not giving them the real her and she keeps putting herself in danger for the next big thrill.
I was really annoyed at Carly’s behaviour towards Luke too. Even when she realises what she saw with Audrey was not true she didn’t go after Luke to apologise, she went off to sulk and moan and get into more trouble.
Luke was a real sweetheart with one hell of a diabolical past and hurts that no one should have to live with.
Yes, he may have done bad things but I think that was more to swipe out and get back at a life that had been lost when it was taken away by Greer.
Luke deserved so much more than a spoilt brat for a mate and luckily Carly redeemed herself and came through when it really mattered.
Going off to Colorado is the best thing for all concerned and both Carly and Luke now have a direction and I can see their life being a good one.
And why the hell has someone not killed that bi*ch Audrey. She is allowed to run amok causing havoc with all the males, even the mated ones. Someone needs to take her out when she gets back from wherever she is hiding. And she will be back, just like the bad penny she is.
This is my honest review of this book.
06.5 – A NEW LEAF
OMG. What a hoot this was in regards to Luke’s mum and Carly’s’ dad. Never thought Tyrone had it in him.
So glad to see Carly maturing and Luke was his lovely self. Great that the pack is getting settled and all looks promising.
