Five years after his wife died in his arms, Aaron Hammond doesn’t think he’ll ever be ready to love another woman, but Skye Hathaway’s arrival in Northstar will test that theory. Wounded and wary from walking in on her philandering husband and his mistress and with the ink still wet on her divorce, the last thing Skye needs is to get tangled up with a handsome widower and his charming daughter. … charming daughter. And yet…with those sad eyes and a patient attentiveness, Aaron could be exactly what her bruised heart needs.
As Aaron coaxes her out of her painful memories, he finds himself facing an intriguing possibility: life may yet have a lasting love in store for him. But can he let go of his wife and open himself fully to Skye? Because she won’t compete with a ghost for his heart. She has been competing with other women for her husband for too long.

Suzie O’Connell’s Northstar series is one to be cherished. I enjoy books with storylines and characters I can believe in. Is it any wonder O’Connell’s fans come back time and again, eager to read each new book in the series. These stories are contemporary and contain some language and action that may not suit everyone – but that’s what makes them relatable. Try this one – you won’t be disappointed.
Great story. One of my favorite authors.

Aaron Hammond lost his wife in a tragic way and five years later he still has not been able to move forward. Skye Hathaway is in Northstar to take a much needed break as well as use her skills as a photographer. With her divorce pending she is not sure if she wants to get involved again with another man but with a little help from Aaron’s daughter, Aaron and Skye find themselves spending time together. Can both move past their fears in order to build a future.
This is one of those books that just makes you smile. You feel for the characters and you feel like you are right along side them on their journey. I was entertained and liked the wholesomeness of the story.
Love this book, I read some parts of the book again
this is a very good story, if you have read any of the other books in the series you have to read this one a page turning story
I love this author. The characters and stories are believable.
Good book. Happy.
Boring-went on & on. Did find out about hay stacking machinery, tho’.
I would recommend this book
Always a pleasure reading this author. Intelligent writing, great characters and always a great story.
Great book in the series. Love how they
Build on each other
The story line was great.
A must read.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were believable and of course the happily ever after was expected but still nicely written. My ONLY criticism was some less than perfect editing about half way through. Missing or additional unnecessary words are very distracting. Otherwise, a pleasant story.
I loved reading this love story. The characters brought forth were very believable and the story line was spectacular. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in reading a romance.
I kept hoping the widower would get his mind on the present time and appreciate the opportunity he has with Skye. He finally does with the help of his daughter and family.
Not a fan.
I loved this book. I loved the characters and how they interact with each other. And I loved the way they described the beautiful state of Montana which makes me want to visit.
I DO NOT LIKE STEAMY and sexual explicit books.
