From USA Today Bestselling Author, Betty Shreffler comes the second installment in the passionate, riveting, and adventurous Crowned and Claimed Series. As a newly crowned Queen, I’ve been chased from my home, forced to turn to an unfamiliar man for protection. In my world, we thrive on what you have to offer, and in order to save my home, I must give myself to a King in exchange for victory.I … exchange for victory.
I promised I would make the necessary sacrifices to end the tyranny forced on my territory, but to give my heart, and lose the man who owns it, is the one thing capable of breaking me. When the choice is stolen from me, my only option is to follow through with a marriage alliance or lose the ones I love.
With tragedy striking from every attempt to win the war, I turn to the one who swore to protect me. With his love, I find a new source of freedom, and tip the scales in my favor. So I believed…

More action and all the feels!
After the cliffhanger ending of book 1 I hardly could wait to find out what challenges await Fiora and Mattheas. Suffice to say my imagination hasn’t covered even the half of it! I was even at the verge of crying at times. I still love both Fiora and Mattheas and it frustrated me to no end how life threw a curveball again at them.
Fiora seeks protection in the Free Territory so King Ryker is introduced to the story. His character is also honest and strong, just like Fiora’s and Mattheas’s. He becomes a true pillar for Fiora when she needs support in her time of need.
Great writing by Ms. Shreffler, her storytelling is as good as ever.
This cliffhanger ending did a number on me, seriously. I’m afraid what I feel now is what people call a love-and-hate relationship with Ms Shreffler 🙂
I think I need the next book, like yesterday.
I’m drawn into this story.
When I finally come to feeling almost happy for Fiora again at the end of the book – after all her struggle and sorrow… everything changed again!
So many emotions in this story from being in love with their love – Matheas and Fiora – til being sad and almost shed tears and back to being happy again. Then stunned by the change again at the end of the story.
I need the next part of the story now! I can’t wait.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book
Fiora is Queen but in trouble. This book was everything and now I need the third book to finish. I have to find out what happens to Fiora and what choices she made and how things turn out. Start with the first book Claimed Royalty. Great read and series.
I can’t decide how I want to write my review for this book.
I completely feel my heart and soul is at a complete stand still until I have book 3!!!
Betty has certainly done it again with the second book in the series, and I feel completely lost as I’m wanting to learn what happens next, I need to know. Ugh… I don’t want to spoil anything, but you definitely need to read this series!
This book is so amazing I was so happy to be able to read it. You definitely will be on your toes through the whole book. So many obstacles I wanted to throw my phone across the room sometimes. But it was even better then the first book and I loved the first book.
There has only been one author that made me cry reading a book, until Betty wrote Twice Claimed. Idk if is that I am emotional or what but omg I was sad and happy, mad and excited. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. Be mentally and emotionally ready to seat down and buckle yourself because it will make you crazy with all the emotions this book will make you feel. Thanks, Betty, now I can’t wait for another book of yours. I have to read both books again with a better mind set LOL If you haven’t read this book nor the first one, you should buy them and get into Betty’s world of emotions.
If you’ve read the first book, Claimed Royalty, then you’ve been impatiently waiting for this one. This book will break your heart, root for new characters and want to throttle the jerk who’s creating Havoc. This book is so good, I didnt want it to end. Loved every minute of it.
This book was one outstanding read with the well written storyline and a plot that flowed easily throughout the entire book and not to mention the characters that were written with such great detail and depth that kept me totally engaged as I turned each and every page until the end!
Superb job by Betty. She keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next then she throws you for s loop and your shocked then get over it move on happy with it then throws a nother loop and your sitting there thinking why, why would she do that? This book was amazing I loved it so much cannot wait to see what happens next.
OMG!!! I don’t even know where to begin. My emotions were all over the place in part two of this trilogy. I cried, I screamed, I laughed, I was sad. At times my family was looking at me strange because I must have been talking to myself while reading it. LOL The attention to detail is fabulous. You’re just pulled right in from the first page and when you reach the ending, you’re left with your mouth hanging wide open! Yeah! I need that last book now!!!
Twice Claimed is the second book in the Crowned and Claimed series. It picks up where Claimed Royalty left off.
The action, humor, suspense, and steamy romance continue and some new characters are introduced that add even more to the story.
I loved the first book and loved this one even more.
This romance story included political turmoil, mad desires and quests for control, and it was amazing! Fiora was a strong woman, doing what needed to be done to protect herself and her people. I loved the way the characters were developed – King Belore, who was so easy to despise, Matheas, Ryker, Kendrick, and others, who rally to do what must be done. The intrigue, the lust and steam, and the protectiveness of these men was so enthralling! I didn’t want this to end in a cliffhanger, but I am waiting for the next book with baited breath!!
I finished this book this morning and have been thinking about it all day trying to figure out how I feel and what I can say to make you read this book without giving anything away. So while reading this book I was happy, hot & bothered, happy, hot & bothered, pissed, sad, angry, loads of denial, excited, hot & bothered, pissed and then the end had me going WTF did the author do that to me for???? My emotions are all over the place, not sure who I want to root for, I kinda of love all the choices she has. I may have to go #TeamKingGaurdPrince for the win. Now to hurry up and wait for book 3. GO one click this and book 1 NOW, you will thank me later.
Have you ever wanted to just throw a book? Not because you hate it……no! Because you LOVED it and it has you going WTH? Nooooooo, don’t stop, give me more!
Well that’s this one, I’d love to tell you all about it but unfortunately it would spoil the fun wouldn’t it????? Let’s just say you need to be emotionally prepared, not gonna say what or why, just be ready, be strong, think of puppies and crap. And then imagine all the creative ways you could go all Misery on a certain author who teases us and then BOOM! She gets you, now remember we can’t really go Misery on her but it may make the time fly until we get the next one!
I love these so much!!
WHAT. THE. HECK. Betty Schreffler! Now I have to wait for book 3, gah!
If you’ve read the first book, Twice Claimed is double the intensity and highly emotionally charged. It will make you dreamy sigh one minute and then make you want throw your kindle across the room the next minute. Who doesn’t love a book like that?!?! I never thought I would find myself reading a futuristic romance but I’m thoroughly enjoying this series!
Anxiously awaiting book 3!
This second book in the series picks up right after book 1 ends. Matheas’ love never falters for Fiora as he continues to protect his queen. With the threat of her home & people still under attack by Belore, this book introduces us to new allies. King Ryker is enamored by the courageous, fearless & beautiful Fiora. Does he stand a chance when Matheas has already claimed her heart?
This was an amazing continuation! Fiora continues to be a force to be reckoned with as she takes no mercy for her retaliation against Belore. Anxiously waiting for the next book!
Betty Shreffler outdid herself. Wow. This book will have you turning the pages faster than you can read. I didn’t want to miss a second. I love this story! You must read this book so start with book 1, if you haven’t. I highly recommend it!!
Love this amazing series. Each book gets better and better.Love Mattaus and Fiora.so read for more action packed intense thrilling love story of these 2 plz
Always together, never alone
You absolutely have to read book one in this trilogy, Claimed Royalty first, otherwise there will be spoilers for you in this review. Get it now, you will thank me for it!
Everyone else will know that Matheas has Fiore with him and they have escaped Belore’s clutches. She never imagined her first foray outside of Anauka would be as a fugitive, and Betty Shreffler captures her horror at what has happened back home, balanced against the fascination at her new world, perfectly.
She is first and foremost, a warrior and a Queen, and they find sanctuary with King Ryker in another territory. Matheas, as her fathers emissary, had prepared for such an event should it be needed, and Ryker, mourning the loss of his fiancé for many years, was a man with a cold stone heart – until Fiore. She still needs a king, and now that her previous arrangement has been destroyed by Belore’s attack on her country, she can have the man of her choosing. Ryker is a king who will benefit her and her people through marriage, but he does not hold her heart like another does. He can’t love her like another does. But, if you think outside of the box, and Ms Shreffler certainly did, there is always a solution, and I absolutely enjoyed the tension between Ryker and Matheas, these two most alpha of males, both perfect specimens in their own ways. They each had a point to prove and vulnerabilities to get past, forgetting that maybe Fiore has a say in it all. Until Belore gets in the way with his heinous behaviour – again.
This is about when my heart got broken, shredded to bits, stomped all over and then spat on. The smallest of lights was shone at the end of a very long tunnel, then suddenly there was another cliff-hanger that has left me hanging on for dear life. Am I put out??? Weeeeeeell, no. All good things and all that. I’m waiting, Ms Shreffler, for the good thing, the third book, to come to me, because I’m waiting.
I’ll leave you with a quote that shows, absolutely, Fiore’s internal strength, which could also provide a beacon of hope for anyone with distress in their lives:
“Eyes briefly pinched closed, I take a breath, gathering my strength, and choose to change my fate.”
I feel Cheated
By now we know our warrior princess is very lustful however on book 2 she is also coping with incredible losses, she comes to make a major decision and again the hints of a possible mfm are there and still nothing! So I feel cheated.
On top of the sexy times we also have a lot of stragedy being a center of the story, as war is going on personally I began to enjoy the story again when she visits other areas, I did loose some interest in the middle as i didnt much care for the fights and some repetitive context over the war, choices she was given and what she wanted. I get it you are independent ok! But you it was in her best interest to choose a husband.
I don’t mind she had to make a choice I dislike the constant rant she had against it.
