From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes the second book in the new Dark Romance Series, Goddess Isles.
“There was a monster once. A monster who bought me, controlled me, and took away my freedom.
There was a man once. A man who dealt in myth and secrets, hiding behind his mask, making me hunger and wish to know the truth.”
Eleanor Grace belongs to the man and the monster, hating … to the man and the monster, hating them both but unable to deny that something links them. Something she doesn’t want to feel, something that traps her as surely as the sea surrounding the island where she serves.
Sully Sinclair belongs to his past and the black and white script his life has become. He views his goddesses as commodities—possessions to be treated kindly but firmly. The only problem is…Eleanor is different.
She’s jinxed him.
Cursed him.
Awakened him.
She’s a goddess with the power to ruin him.
Second book in a series. 76,000 words, continue with Third a Kiss

All I can say is WOW!
This story had me from word one and I was engrossed all the way to that Phenomenal ending. The intricacies of the plot were original, surprising and fantastic. As the heroine Eleanor/Jinx argued different points with her owner/captor Sully, I wanted to argue as well. He is a complex man and in the first book I didn’t think he could be redeemable at all, but we got to see him as a good man in certain ways.
Though I still don’t see how she could fall in love with him even with the intense attraction and the things she found out about him. If I was falling for a guy and he made me sleep with someone else, that would be it, or if he punished me like Sully punished Jinx after she ran away, I just would have no way to respect him. Not to mention the fact that he buys women from sex slavers and uses them to make money through like a high class technologically advanced Pimp.
Even if the girls end up liking their situation and wanting to stay longer than 4 years. It is like a no means no thing, when a guy hears no he should stop right there. And if these girls don’t want to do it at any point, he is no better than the sex slavers. We know it isn’t just Eleanor that didn’t want to do it at first since he told her that other girls had tried to escape.
I just loved the story though, I still done know what really happened the first time she was in Euphoria. Was it with Sully? I was surprised at what happened the second time and every time Sully does something, he does the exact opposite of what I expect. And what did he do in his past that scares him so much? Why does he think he will kill her eventually?
The whole story of the fact that Sully loves animals and hates people is very inventive and the animal testing angle which started in the last book and came up in this one is pretty genius as a conflict point. I wanted to argue certain things with him, some of which Eleanor actually said and others were like OMG you can’t generalize all people are bad just because there are some awful people out in the world. And you can’t treat women like objects when you treat animals so well. I mean humans are animals also. Eek. I just wanted to punch him sometimes.
I was glad Jinx got away from him, but surprised at his reactions. But I suppose I shouldn’t be with a bunch of books left in the series. Anyway, the people were awesome in this book, the parrots were terrific, and the setting is paradise, literally. I am loving this series. I don’t want to go to bed. I just want to start on the next book, but I have to work late tomorrow night so I can’t. Darn!
Ugggg how Pepper can make you start to fall in love with the monsters in her books is amazing. Don’t get me wrong Sullivan is bad but dang he is so good too!! There was a part in this book that I couldn’t bring myself to read but I know what happen and poor Sully. His heart had been so big and smart but then people who should never break your heart did. Eleanor and Sully have such a chemistry between them and to stop some madness from happening she does one thing that might put her in danger for real. I love the parrots in this series so much and loved that Skittles is coming out more. They are great additions 🙂 This book ends in a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!!
5* Monster Stars
This second instalment of the Goddess Isles series did not disappoint! The attraction and chemistry between Sully and Eleanor is intense and dangerous. What Eleanor experiences under the reign of Sully is mind blowing.
You will be holding your breath with each chapter read and then be left with a HUGE cliff-hanger! Be prepared!
This series got even more delicious with book numero dos! I’m entranced by Sully and I cannot get enough of his inner conflict. He is such a contradiction – human and vulnerable; monstrous and vicious; caring and kind; not to mention the fact that he buys women for the pleasure of men! I hate him. I love him. I’m Eleanor.
I felt like I was really able to get inside Sully’s head. I’m beginning to understand the dichotomy of his character. On one hand, he wants Eleanor with every part of his being. On the other, due to his past, he can’t give in and acts out ruthlessly. However, the moments when his feelings overwhelm him, forcing his hand, leading him toward her with every step… those are the moments I’m currently living for.
I needed her to give me back my soul—to kiss words back into my mouth, to rake her hands through my hair and gift me back my mind. If she could give me back my manhood, then she could take my heart.
Eleanor’s youth and naiveté led to her making a decision that, to her, seemed well-thought out and well-prepared, while to me it seemed dumb. It was ill-advised and ill-fated. But really, what did I expect from a girl who was struggling with her new reality? At her age, we all think we’re invincible and that we have all the answers. We obviously don’t, but you can’t convince us of that. So off she went with her stupid plan that just got her into trouble. However, if part of her plan was to push Sully’s control, to obliterate his boundaries and unleash his brutality, then she won. Still don’t love the girl, but kudos
“You truly are high and mighty. Sullivan has let you get away with far too much.”
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Calvin, for speaking up.
As with the last book, the queen of the dark is back and I couldn’t be happier. I still have a lot of questions when it comes to Sully. I’m wondering about the truth behind Eleanor’s experience with Euphoria. I’m looking for the hidden depths to the past, how it ties to the present, and how it will effect the future. With my fingers crossed for a happy ending, I’m on to book three.
Soooo in love with this dark, dirty series. OBSESSED.
“Somehow, I’d ended up doing what I’d fought against since she landed on my beach. I bowed…”
She tasted the elixir, she went to Euphoria; she experienced something that set her free in a way, but that tormented her in every possible way. Eleanor wants Sully, and she feels Sully wants her too but is fighting against everything he has, to keep those feelings away. But Eleanor is not going to let it go, so she needs to figure out a way to make Sully see what’s in front of him, the only problem…it might break her.
Sully is losing control of himself, whenever he’s with Jinx, he knows he’s losing something and there’s no going back once he unleashes all those feelings, he has to figure out what to do with her, he doesn’t want to give her up, but when an offer lands in his lap to get her away from him for good, he has to take it, even if it breaks him in some part, but is the only way he will survive her.
This book just broke me, about fifty percent in the reading I was crying my eyes out, the amazing way Pepper Winters brings her love for animals in this story its amazing, I have no idea how she even begins to unleash her imagination and transform everything she loves into a story; but let me tell you this, when you start reading she dedicates her book for all those with filthy minds but are normal on the outside; she feeds our need for her stories but shows us another part of her soul in this series, her love for animals, her vision of a perfect world where no living being is used instead is set free to live the life they were meant to live. One word… BRILLIANT!

Okay so.. this is the second book and this is where a ton of action happens! Like.. I can’t say much without putting spoilers but.. yes! So much happened in this book, I couldn’t put it down! It was amazing and holy cliff hanger.. I’m dying for the third book!
You get to see more of Sinclair’s background and why he is the way he is a bit… I had to grab some tissues.
Y’all get ready. You’re going to fall in love with this man.
Also.. I love Skittles. She has my heart.
Picking up right where Once a Myth left off, Pepper continues to thrill and amaze the reader with this continuation of Sully and Eleanor’s story. Jinx is bound and determined to learn all she can about Sully, to reveal all there is under his armor.
Strap in tight, readers! Pepper takes us on a journey that is not to be rushed! Savor every page, from the decadent locale to the intense heat and passion drifting up from the pages. This story is slowly evolving and revolving, and lovers of the dark and twisted are going to eat this up.
This series is going to kill me, dead! It’s a tantalizing, sizzling and intoxicating tale about a Goddess and her spirit, resilience, and power, unlike any other Goddess on the Island. Jinx always seems to find within herself exactly what she needs, and she is a force to be reckoned with, she truly is a Goddess not just to herself but to others as well. “Euphoria” is a special place, a fantasy brought to life by a monster, and this monster controls everything but what happens when this monster loses his control over himself and let’s go? Who will survive the storm? What will happen to all the creatures big and small? Come on Third a Kiss this series is a must-read! Pepper Winters has outdone herself again! So excited for you to read this series!
5 STARS
I was right to state that Pepper Winters has penned an undeniably addicting dark romantic series!!!
Once again, I could not get enough of Sullivan ‘Sully’ Sinclair. He was dominant and ruthless, but his need for unwavering control as well as the fact that he can’t help but lose it and want to indulge with Eleanor ‘Jinx’ Grace. As for Eleanor aka Jinx, she is strong and fierce even in the face of adversity and uses her intelligence as a skill for survival. This book has many revelations, so be prepared for the start of your addiction!
I was so captivated by this story and I definitely need more. I highly recommend reading this book and getting a jump on the Goddess Isles series because it’s going to be EPIC. Twice A Wish by Pepper Winters will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!
Book two delivers just like book one! Sully is still fighting his attraction to Eleanor. She is seeing more into who he is. Lots of twists and turns in the plot making this a can’t put down book! Lots of descriptive writing makes the reader feel like you are on the Island living this story with them. We are left on a great cliffhanger wondering what is going to happen when all control is lost.
I think this is a fantastic series so far. The characters are so intriguing. We get a glimpse into Sully’s past and what makes him tick. We see just how strong Jinx is. We see a time bomb waiting to explode between these two. Bring it on!!
Omg i thought book one blew me away but apparently I was so wrong. This is only book two in this amazing series and I can’t tell you enough that you have to read this book and series. This book continues Sully and Eleanor’s story and boy what a story it is. This book is a page turner and so addictive that you can’t stop reading until you have finished the book and the story still stays with you . It is dark, gritty, captivating, hot and you feel everything coming of the page’s as if you are there. I can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next and it will not come soon enough. Pepper Winters is an incredible author and amazing writer and she takes you in and doesn’t let you go. You really need to read this book to experience everything that is Pepper Winters.
I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy Of This Amazing Book.
I’m in love. I love Eleanor’s spirit and smarts. I love Sully and my heart breaks for his past but I love the strong savior he’s become. I know what the book tells us, but I think there’s something that Sully isn’t telling Eleanor about her time in Euphoria. I want to know more about Jealousy and Calvin and I love love love Pika and Skittles. Can’t wait for answers and to see what happens after that very interesting ending!! And that gorgeous cover and dress description make me green with envy.
I am now fully invested in these characters and this story. Am I upset it’s a series? Yes. Am I ticked that the first was free and the rest cost money? Oh hell yes. I don’t want to pay for the whole series. In probably gonna have to stop here. And I hate that.
Wow! Just wow!
This book is edgy and very dark, it is still sexy and all the feels a good dark romance book should be. I really enjoyed it!
I really wasn’t sure where Pepper would take this journey, but I wasn’t expecting this! This book had be sucked in from the beginning, needing to know what would happen next. I loved watching Sully’s vulnerability come out, and learning more about why he is the way he is. And I loved watching Eleanor find her strength and self worth despite her circumstances. And I did not see the ending coming!!! Ahhh I need to dive in to book three ASAP!!!
If you haven’t started this series, what are you waiting for!!!??
Wowza! The plot thickens as the angst ramps up as this dark and twisted storyline unfolds! Their chemistry is electric and palpable! There’s so much to this story and I can’t wait to read Third A Kiss!
Sully!! Just when I think he’ll finally break he finds the will to pull back!
Sully’s heartbreaking past destroyed my heart and brought tears to my eyes. The thought makes me sick. So so sad! But Eleanor is definitely his match.
Pepper Winters is a fabulous writer with an imagination that’s rare to find. I’m so glad she chose to write these stories!
