From New York Times Bestseller, Pepper Winters, comes the second book in the new Dark Romance Series, Goddess Isles.
“There was a monster once. A monster who bought me, controlled me, and took away my freedom.
There was a man once. A man who dealt in myth and secrets, hiding behind his mask, making me hunger and wish to know the truth.”
Eleanor Grace belongs to the man and the monster, hating … to the man and the monster, hating them both but unable to deny that something links them. Something she doesn’t want to feel, something that traps her as surely as the sea surrounding the island where she serves.
Sully Sinclair belongs to his past and the black and white script his life has become. He views his goddesses as commodities—possessions to be treated kindly but firmly. The only problem is…Eleanor is different.
She’s jinxed him.
Cursed him.
Awakened him.
She’s a goddess with the power to ruin him.
Second book in a series. 76,000 words, continue with Third a Kiss

Twice A Wish picks up from where Once A Myth ends so you do need to read that first.
Ms Winters is blowing my mind with The Goddess Isles. I thought I was ready for what was coming but i wasn’t. I feel like I’ve gone down the rabbit hole with this series. Nothing is what it seems or what I was expecting and I love it! I love that I can’t see which way this is going to go. I’ve no idea what’s going to happen next. At this point I’m just holding on and enjoying the ride.
I was left with many, many questions and theories after Once A Myth, when I say my mind is been blown by this series I’m in no way exaggerating. This story and Eleanor and Sully are literally all I’ve thought about. I’ve even dreamt about them that’s how into this story I am. I’ve shown ALL my crazy bombarding poor Ms Winters with my many questions and nutcase ramblings (I’m so sorry Pepper) and to say I’m obsessed is an understatement. All my theories are proving to be wrong which leads to more theories and questions. It’s driving me insane but at the same time I’m absolutely loving it.
The slow burn, the angst, the chemistry, and most importantly the little details, are all done in that way only Ms Winters can do. These books are insanely hot. You can feel the tension between Sully and Eleanor building with each page I can’t wait for the next book especially after that ending. I need to know what’s going to happen next!!
“The veil between love and hate constantly tore in the battle of romance.”
Pepper Winters has created a beautiful vivid world that has not only consumed me but has left me begging for more! The chemistry between Eleanor and Sully is on a completely different level. A touch, a kiss a simple look between them and I’m at lost for words. She captures your attention and you have no choice but to live within the pages.
“I was my enemy. My body was a traitor. My heart the worst sinner of all.”
I’m found myself falling hard for Sully. We get to dig a little deeper into his cold ruthless and cruel exterior. And I couldn’t help but love him. Eleanor shows unbelievable strength and never backs down. She is determined, compassionate and feisty heroine and I can’t wait to see what this series has in store for us next!! I’m anxiously awaiting for the next book! I need, need, NEED IT!!!
“I would make them understand that money was worthless. That I was priceless.”
Wow,this second book in the Goddess Isles Series is a wild one!
I couldn’t put it down ,Eleanor and Sully are such complex characters ,and their inexplicable attraction to each other is off the charts! Such a deliciously twisted story and that ending, I can’t wait to see what book 3 has in store!!
Round Two. It’s Only The Beginning.

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Eleanor Grace has been sold to Sullivan Sinclair. In the follow-up to Once A Myth, he starts to feel the changes that Eleanor has induced upon him. Something’s wrong. He realizes that Eleanor might be the one who brings him to his knees.
I was enchanted by the Goddess Isles series in book one already. Book two does everything a follow-up is supposed to do and then some. That ending had me twisting and shouting. The next book can’t come out soon enough! I read this in one go; this was another page-turner for me. In comparison to other dark reads, this one is very easy to read. The world-building is great and the opportunities are endless. I can’t wait to see where Pepper Winters takes this universe in the following books.
Once again, our heroine is packing. She didn’t come to play. She came to fight. I loved Eleanor’s tenacity and her will to fight and not back down. Sure, there were tough moments in this story and I’m sure Pepper Winters has worse games for poor Eleanor to play slash endure.
As much as Sully intrigued me in book one, in book two there was something about him that didn’t have me rooting for him at all which is super weird because he went all vegan vendetta on us and normally, that would be all he’d need to get my thumbs up since the vegan anti-hero is something relatively new in the dark romance world (or romance in general; if that’s not the case, I dare you to enlist books with vegan/vegetarian heroes in the comments). The positive thing is that I’ve now gotten used to his name and I don’t think that I hate his name as much anymore. If he wants me on his corner, he’ll have to do much more than be kind to animals. I have a whole rant for his choice of victims, but I’ll spare you. If I see that this doesn’t get any better in the next instalments, I will eventually have to post my rant LOL.
There are animals in this novel that make lots of adorable and charming appearances. They were their own entities, yet they added so much sweetness to this dark and exotic story. I love it whenever they appear and I want them to keep appearing in the next books. PLEASE. LOL.
Third A Kiss is an anticipated read of mine! Hurry up, boo! Twice A Kiss ended on a very twisty and devilish note… GIMME BOOK THREE LOL
I recommend this title to dark romance lovers, vegetarians (even vegans at this point, Sully, hate him all you want, he makes relevant points) and people who love a badass heroine that won’t go down without a fight.
She was the goddess bought to pawn and rent. He was the man who became fascinated by this rare goddess.
As her mind struggles to own her body Eleanor’s body continues to crave the desire given to her by elixir. She is the exception to Sully’s fantasy.
Transitioning simple sex into a wild unhinged creature her body became prisoner to its carnal wants.
Overall:
Imagine viagra for men and an aphrodisiac of sorts for women when combined creat a creature so full of want, need, and desire that the body rules out power over the mind and heart. Your mind is overruled by the need of your body thriving and thrashing for raw pleasure. That’s what Pepper delivered. This book takes the reader on the second leg of the journey regarding the power of this elixir and the man who owns its power on fantasy island.
I’m so glad Pepper gave us dual points of view. Had I just been left with Eleanor’s thoughts and feelings I would’ve felt betrayed by what was truly happening to her body. To know before Eleanor, that all is just a fantasy that she was forced into helped release some of the dangers associated with this type of situation.
Peppers words play tricks with the readers mind. It’s extremely thought provoking with that hunkering of self realization that the game is not only being played by the characters in the book but with you as the reader. We are a team, both figuring out this illusion. Pepper is the mastermind of trickery. She pours her thoughts into words creating a fantastical word of confusion and debauchery.
Pepper broke the typical rules about sex and substituted her own with raw, honest, sexual kink. She gave her readers a twisted non-traditional love. Underneath the surface was a breakthrough so unexpected.
The answer to that burning question: what or who is the once a myth gets answered here.
I suffocated on her, and she suffocated on me. We tried to inhale, but all we could steal was each other.
Once a Myth was the match that started the fire, but Twice a Wish engulfed me in flames. Pepper Winters has never been an author that suffered from “sequel disease” where the second book just doesn’t quite live up to the first one. In my opinion, Winters just gets better and fucking better. Her writing is superb, beautiful, and the best drug out there (Sorry Sully).
I wanted to snatch her, savage her. I wanted to rip her from the heavens and bring her firmly into my hell.
Eleanor is quickly becoming a favorite heroine of mine. She’s strong, is quick to call Sully out on his bullshit, and she seems like a pretty genuine person. I love getting to see her struggles and how she is processing everything that is happening to her. That makes it super easy for me to connect with and empathize with her.
And Sully…Oh my sweet broken, animal loving Sully. He. Melts. Me. I’m sorry but any man that has that kind of compassion towards animals, I cannot help but love him. The backstory and more info we receive in this book is just what I needed to fall over the line and into completely obsessed territory. My soul is completely shattered for him, and I just want him to come to terms that it is ok to be loved and to love.
“If you were an animal, then you’d be the most dangerous of them all. You would have the power to shred me limb from limb. Your claws would kill me. Your teeth devour me. If you were an animal, Goddess Jinx, then I would have to fucking bow to you.”
The passion and chemistry between these two is some of the hottest stuff I’ve ever read. There is so much fighting and angst, until they both snap….and when they snap I can feel it in my veins. They are a high I can’t get enough of.
If you loved book one, order this and do it now! You absolutely do not want to miss Twice a Wish!
Overall rating: 5 stars
Steaminess rating: 4.5 stars
I was given this ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I’m sitting her stunned speechless. This series will consume me whole and set camp in my soul.that is a certain surety And it’s only book two!!!!!!
Unraveling, intoxicating, bewitching story of a Goddess finally realizing her superpowers crackling in her veins. She’s learning to flex her powers, unfurl her wings and Crack her spine to stand tall and regal like a Queen that she is! It’s a hedonistic tale of Dirty words, Illegal Elixir and Hot Fantasies. Scenes come alive with electrifying chemistry, you can touch and feel the volcanic passion bubbling and ready to erupt with orgasmic intensity.
“Our gazes locked, and whatever minor dregs of dignity and energy I had left siphoned into the ground. My toes grew roots, anchoring me in place. My legs became bark, brittle and unable to bend. I planted myself into the soil, seeking purchase to weather another storm…the storm of Sullivan’s temper.”
Pepper has changed her writing a bit with this series, there’s Sentiments in full display in the background in their full orchestra, it’s the pleasures of the flesh screaming and screeching that catch our attention front and center. It’s panting breaths, scrambling hands, needy breathlessness that pepper Juxtaposed with heartbreaking disappointment and barely controlled Emotions of the heart.
“I’d fought against my heart, but I couldn’t win against my body.
I was my enemy. My body was a traitor.”
This story is fast building like a tornado, momentum is warp speed both inside and outside.
I had to flick my eyes on gathering storms in both body and soul vying for my attention.
pepper creates an arousing world of animalistic pleasure, it’s crescending and stimulating, drags me deeper into its vortex till my body pulsates with desire for Sully, my heart craves for Jinx and my soul flutters and flies with Skittles. I become a part of Goddess Isles and the sand sticks to MY body, water laps at MY feet, elixir sways MY senses and fantasies stimulate and simulate MY senses.
Eleanor Grace aka Jinx is the most endearing of her heroines. she’s a forced Goddess, a reluctant implant but her compassionate heart and regal bearing soon sets her a class apart. A rare priceless gem which is soon clamoured over and a bidding war of sorts starts. Men are ready to lose valuable possessions, their kingdom and their hearts over her.
“A girl who wasn’t a goddess, after all, but a golden-hearted human who was even rarer than myth.”
Is it fate or black design that brought her to Goddess Isles, whatever the cause, it’s going to be disastrous for Sully Sinclair to say the least
Their connection is set alight with buzzing electricity they share, which soon flares into life whenever they’re in close proximity. More than the physical lust, it’s the soul connection that makes their pairing unique. He’s the epitome of Godly Master who is trembling at knees to bow down before the Goddess
“I’d seen him kingly and imposing, undone and furious, sea-drenched and secretive, tortured and solemn.”
But it’s the Third Character which is the true villain- The Euphoria
It shreds farcical skin off of the human bodies and exposes dormant desires within. It claws out the Neanderthal nature of the beast out in the open and what we see is the humanity at its most basest of form. It hooks you to the false ceiling and gives you a hard shove. Dizzying inertia spins you mercilessly, gaining unbelievable speed and when it untethers, Its freefall from then on!!
Mistress of illusions and make believe, Pepper has outdone herself by creating this Decadent world of God and his Goddesses set in the backdrop of paradise Island. Diabolical dreams are inside the Euphoria or on the Golden Sandy beaches, it’s yours to decide
5 stars for Goddess who controlled the God
Twice a Wish by Pepper Winters encompassed so many intense experiences for me. It was blissfully hedonistic. It was a storm of conflicting and bruising emotions. The writing was pure torture as Pepper Winters assaulted all my senses expertly and with ruthless precision.
Sullivan Sinclair needs control in his life. Over his islands. Over his goddesses. Over his feelings. He runs a pleasure paradise in middle of tropical beauty but he was not prepared for Eleanor Grace. Bought and paid and put to other men’s mercy. But a fierce and gorgeous and stubborn woman. Sully is not supposed to feel. But she is breaking him down. Eleanor is not supposed to feel attraction and warmth towards her master. But as time passes, she discover the truly inspiring man behind the monster mask. Before she can explore it, Sully has decided to cut her off his life. But how? Will Eleanor do something awfully stupid to provoke the beast?
Since this is a five book series, the author spends a great amount of time in exploring the darkest desires and most dangerous secrets of the characters. And I am absolutely stunned by the process. I am not sure she has not secretly passed some of Sully’s Elixir in the pages. Because I am drunk on the feelings. This story is such a visual masterpiece. I am transported right into the sandy white beaches, blue ocean, green forest and luxurious villas. The push and pull between Sully and Eleanor is driving me insane. I want to hate Sully for the cruel and devastating and depraved things he is forcing Eleanor to do. But the Author is peeling his layers painstakingly and I am beyond fascinated by the man inside. This is a difficult balance to achieve and the author aced it. So I cry and break for the tormented soul of Sully. I am in awe of Eleanor. She is nothing less than a Goddess. She fights for her freedom and respect. She uses her power of beauty and sensuality. She breaks down but gets back her pieces. That ending was completely unexpected and I am still reeling from the shock! The chemistry is extremely erotic in true Pepper Winters style. The emotions are raw and filthy and gritty. The mind games were fantastic.
Pepper Winters took me to the edge of carnal love and heartbreaking hate in Twice A Wish. Her words were weapons against my heart. And I surrendered fully to the onslaught of seductive, dark and terrifying emotions. Not only a top 2020 read. But an all time favorite dark romance series that I cannot recommend enough.
Received ARC for honest review through Netgalley and The Next Step PR
This series is so highly anticipated by myself and many others, and Pepper Winters does not disappoint. Twice a Wish draws the reader into a world that we could only imagine, and Pepper’s words make it come to life for us.
Eleanor is challenging and fighting everything this island offers. This is Utopia, an exquisite place for the goddesses to live out their 4 year term, they want for nothing, and life on the island is glamorous and coveted.
Sully is also fighting on his island but for very different reasons. Eleanor offers him something that most men would love to grab and possess, but Sully, he is fighting it for reasons he believes are just and true.
This duo find themselves battling and struggling in Twice a Wish. The are denying their attraction, lust and desire for one another. But will either one survive this internal war?
Pepper, this series is exceptional and makes me want to read the story as fast as I can, while not wanting it to end at the same time. Those are my own struggles reading this series.
If there was any doubt before, be assured that Pepper Winters is a master storyteller. Twice a Wish is the ultimate in continuations with Sully and Eleanor/Jinx and their inescapable attraction becoming even more intense. Picking up where we left off in Once a Myth, Eleanor/Jinx is cautiously aware that Sully is more than meets the eye and she carefully begins her quest to uncover the layers of his soul.
There is heat and sexual tension like only Winters can deliver, paired with the struggle from Eleanor/Jinx to try and escape Sully’s supposed paradise. But the ongoing tether between their hearts that neither can deny nor sever may be either their ultimate downfall or savior depending on just how stubborn they remain.
There is plenty of mystery as Eleanor/Jinx learns more about her captor and decidedly pushes him to the brink, desperation he can’t even fathom continually written all over Sully’s face. The facade he so carefully has crafted is truly on the precipice as the usual jaw-dropping conclusion makes itself known.
In addition, I will say that Winters’s love of animals is an extraordinary part of this story as Sully’s distaste for humans is only magnified by his adoration of his furry and not so furry friends. With an interesting twist pertaining to Eleanor/Jinx and the scene-stealers in Pika and Skittles.
Twice a Wish is a book that deserves to be relished, each decadent word a gift to readers. Only Pepper Winters can combine cruelty with pleasure in the most exceptional of ways and with that in mind, I happily give this latest creation a huge 5++ stars!
I’m overwhelmed and reeling with excitement after finishing Twice A Wish, Book #2 in Pepper Winters’ Goddess Isles Series. I thought Book 1 was compelling, but it has nothing on Book 2! I LOVED this book even more than Book 1. Exceptionally written, the tension and emotions were all over the place. I was literally on the edge of my seat reading. I couldn’t get enough of Sullivan Sinclair and Eleanor Grace! I LOVE the dual POVs and glimpses into their souls. The storyline is BEYOND captivating! You just don’t know what to expect next! I really love that the characters and their feelings just melt off the pages into your heart and head, making them come to life before your eyes. I spent most, if not all, of this book feeling like I was floating above watching these people as their lives erupted into all kinds of turmoil. It was mesmerizing and oh-so-satisfying. What does this talented author have in store for these amazing characters she has created? I have no idea, and I can’t wait to find out! Book 3 can’t get here soon enough for me. If you have not started this amazing series yet, you NEED to! Grab your Kindle, grab this series and start reading!!!
Euphoric Sully coming full steam ahead.
Okay the first book was the tease,
The second is going to knock you off your axis and turn this paradise into a whirlwind of lust and major angst.
Get ready to be blown away. All I can really say is Eleanor has some major balls in the things she does to Sully. I was happy dancing all the way through these chapters.
Euphoria is the new high and Sully is the prize but at what cost ? Hold onto those panties ladies because it’s going to get extremely hot and messy in here and these characters are going to fry your deepest desires.
And holy moly!!!!!! What was that cliffy!!!!! Ahhhhhh can’t breathe !!!!!
Dreaming of a life of traveling and taking in the world, Eleanor Grace never realized just how far from that dream she would find her life. One moment would leave her chained to a world that few can imagine. An existence that would leave Eleanor’s freedom in the hands of another. Through tragedy comes triumph, or does it?
From darkness comes the promise of something utterly unbelievable. Eleanor finds herself in a different type of dilemma. One that offers luxury in place of chains, but at what cost? Sully Sullivan holds the keys to the enchantment of Euphoria and all of the luxuries that adorn the Goddess Isle. What will be the price for living in luxury? Sully knows that temptation fuels passion, and Jinx is proving to be the greatest temptation of all.
Oh my word…….I couldn’t wait to dive into Twice a Wish!! After the cliffhanger ending to the first book, I dove head first into the latest book to the series. Eleanor Grace is fighting to keep a piece of her sanity, while dealing with the temptation of Goddess Isle. The angst and sexual chemistry are off the charts in this book, and I read cover to cover in one sitting. The chaos surrounding the attraction between Sully and Jinx is so addictive. After all – who doesn’t love a forbidden romance?? I’ll be waiting for another trip to Euphoria…..a girl can only dream!!
OMG! Sully… can I say his epiphany regarding her was everything! I keep trying to fit Sully into a box that doesn’t fit. I love Pika. To see him treat that bird with such care, you think he has to have a heart. When he finds out about Skittles… I actually laughed out loud. It’s like the glimpses we get of his heart just confuse me. When his past is given to us, I cried. It made so much make sense.
When I read about her first experience in Euphoria, I thought I knew what had happened. Well, I was wrong, and now I’m mad as all heck. I also don’t know how I feel about Roy. These men that pay so much for these experiences… I don’t want to like them, but I felt bad for Roy. I also don’t know what I feel about Calvin. He is one of those characters that I could be lulled into a false sense of security about him.
I just can’t wait to see what comes next. It feels like torture because I just want to know now. This book ended in a way that I can’t even guess what’s coming next. I do know that this author is amazing. Regardless of the genre whatever she writes is magic to me.
I never realized how truly disturbed I must be for loving every minute of this dark, dark story! Jinx struggles with her captivity, the things she is forced to do and the very unwanted feelings for her owner. She cannot stop standing up to him, pushing him, hoping he might just give in to it, that that might just make it more bearable. The deeper we travel into their story the more is revealed of Sullys past, what drives him and makes him who he is. She may challenge him at every turn, pushing him to the brink, but the monster she will be faced with when all pretenses are gone is one she may not be able to handle. I am utterly blown away by this story and cannot wait for more, like an addict, I need my next fix!
Another Masterpiece in this Epic Series! Eleanor “Jinx” Grace and Sully Sinclair’s tumultuous “relationship” if you can call it that, is back in book two of the goddess isles series and they’re back with a BANG!! We begin where Once a Myth left off and you are in for another wild rollercoaster of emotions in this book. What awaits Jinx now that she has four more years in the hands of Sinclair? Will his wall he built around himself finally start to crumble? Will this one Goddess turn Sinclair’s well plotted paradise into his own prison? New players enter the picture and create chaos for our god. Get Ready For A Magical Trip to “Paradise.” Oh Sully! You’re making a way to my heart that I only thought Q possessed! A cinematic, visual journey is created within these pages. Told in dual POV and ends in another major cliffhanger.
Pepper Winters has penned yet another masterpiece in this epic series. Twice a Wish continues where Once a Myth left us and I found myself on the edge of my seat, absorbing all the information that Pepper shared with us and was then left desperate for more!
Since closing the final page on Once a Myth my thoughts have been constantly considering all the possibilities of where this story was going to go next. I have absolutely loved the anticipation. My friends and I have discussed everything and I just know that as soon as we have all finished reading Twice a Wish, we will be doing exactly the same once again. I was eager to discover if any of my theories were correct and I absolutely loved how the author kept me captivated with her words.
In Twice a Wish we learn more about Sullivan and the reasons behind his actions. We see more of Eleanor’s strength and determination. The chemistry and connection between Sully and Eleanor is intense and palpable and the longer that they spend time together I anticipate the reaction that they are having to each other will continue to escalate…… and I find this to be absolutely enthralling.
What I felt for Sully at the end of the first book has changed. I couldn’t decide then whether I adored or disliked the man. Although I question his actions on the island, the more I learn about him and gain greater understanding the more pieces of my heart I hand over to him. Eleanor continues to amaze me. I love that the fabulous push and pull battle that has been going on between the pair of them remains evident throughout. Individually and together this couple intrigue me and I cannot wait to discover more.
Pepper Winters has written this incredible book perfectly. It is once again dual POV and I was especially thankful to be able to learn both Sully and Eleanor’s thoughts and feelings especially regarding their experiences. I may have gained some answers in Twice a Wish but I now have even more questions and that is exciting!
To readers who enjoy darker romance stories then this is a must read. I am thankful for the short time I have before the third instalment in this incredible series releases which will allow me to get my emotions in check and to steady my heart rate. I do realise however that the wait is going to torturous because I am desperate to find out what happens next.
