The first book of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling series!
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She’s had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone’s toilet’s overflowed, but she’s never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are … things are certain: There isn’t enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.
Rose realizes she’s wasted twenty-four years of living and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: twenty-eight things she wants to accomplish before her vision comes true. She’s well on her way with the help of her next door neighbor Joe, who has no trouble teaching Rose the rules of drinking, but won’t help with number fifteen– do more with a man. Joe’s new to town, but it doesn’t take a vision for Rose to realize he’s got plenty secrets of his own.
Somebody thinks Rose has something they want and they’ll do anything to get it. Her house is broken into, someone else she knows is murdered, and suddenly, dying a virgin in the Fenton County jail isn’t her biggest worry after all.
“Though much of the book is light-hearted and occasionally outright hilarious, the author sneaks in a few home truths along the way that will hit you where it counts, like how even someone’s best intentions can box you in.” –Everybody Needs a Little Romance
“This was one of those books that I kept telling myself one more page, then I need to put it down. Instead I found myself tearing through the book instead, needing to know the outcome.” –Just Jump Book Reviews

I really enjoyed this book
I enjoyed it and look forward to reading others by the author. Fine for “light” reading.
Sweet and naive, this doll just can’t stay out of trouble. A fun read.
This is a light mystery. The main character is a young woman, somewhat of a nut case. I love romantic mysteries and this one was a god break between real gore stories!
AWESOME BOOK
I really enjoy the book. Well written. Kept my interest from start to finish.
This is a fun read. Enjoyed it immensely! The characters could be my friends and being with them was so relaxing.
I loved this first book, and the rest of the series is just as fantastic.
Stayed up all night to finish. Didn’t want to stop.
This is a fun read! Witty, just plain funny at times, scary sometimes and you will wonder who she can trust. Surprises throughout. You will love it!
A nice book to forget yourself in, looking forward to part 2
Enjoyed the whole series!
Wow! Best book I have read lately and I read a lot! Loved it! I’ m reading the next one already!
A good read.
This story has you guessing all the way through as to who can you really trust.
The main characters quickly grow to be your friend and you are rooting for her til the end. You won’t want the book to end and will be eager to read the next one!
I mostly enjoyed this book. The biggest downfall for me was the excessive use of the lead character’s obnoxious “expletive” to be annoying, to the point of distracting. I understood the why of it, it was just too much for me. Over all the book moved along and kept me guessing.
Amazing book! Read four year ago, and still my favorite book ever! It’s an adorable book with memorable moments!
This book was recommended to me by my niece. Being the book lover that I am I took a look see and never turned back! Denise has a way of creating a world full of characters that you feel like you’ve known your whole life. To say that I loved this book is an understatement. I connected to Rose’s quirkiness and shyness. Who doesn’t wish we could …
An interesting premise and beginning, but in the end, this novel is a waste of time.
I love Twenty-Eight and a half Wishes! Rose and Joe are such great characters. I love the story line also. I felt like I was experiencing each wish with Rose. Her experiences and reactions made me think of the first time I experienced some of her wishes and also made me realize how some of her wishes are taken for granted such as simple play in …
