The first book of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling series!
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She’s had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone’s toilet’s overflowed, but she’s never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are … things are certain: There isn’t enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.
Rose realizes she’s wasted twenty-four years of living and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: twenty-eight things she wants to accomplish before her vision comes true. She’s well on her way with the help of her next door neighbor Joe, who has no trouble teaching Rose the rules of drinking, but won’t help with number fifteen– do more with a man. Joe’s new to town, but it doesn’t take a vision for Rose to realize he’s got plenty secrets of his own.
Somebody thinks Rose has something they want and they’ll do anything to get it. Her house is broken into, someone else she knows is murdered, and suddenly, dying a virgin in the Fenton County jail isn’t her biggest worry after all.
“Though much of the book is light-hearted and occasionally outright hilarious, the author sneaks in a few home truths along the way that will hit you where it counts, like how even someone’s best intentions can box you in.” –Everybody Needs a Little Romance
“This was one of those books that I kept telling myself one more page, then I need to put it down. Instead I found myself tearing through the book instead, needing to know the outcome.” –Just Jump Book Reviews

Great characters! Interesting & unusual, found a new favorite author!
Loved the main character, Rose. An amazing and brave woman with a daring nature. Many things go right which should go wrong.
This is the first of the series that I have ready and enjoyed it
As I read this book I kept thinking I wouldn’t finish it but the moment I thought that, it would change and incorporate more that I wanted to read. I ended by never putting it down till I finished. It definitely was not a cozy, and I skipped a few pages that were too graphic for a commited cozy reader. For anyone else I highly recommend it.
This book kept me guessing until the end. Good read.
This book shows how a small town can turn the truth upside down with gossip. I don’t know how believable the story is, but the situations are kind of wacky. It’s a fun story to read and I enjoyed it.
This was a surprise to me. I expected it to just fill time while I was camping. Instead I found myself unable to put it down. A ton of fun, a little like Janet Evonovich.
I’m glad I discovered this series by Denise Swank. Highly entertaining!
Good boo,…made me laugh out loud more than once.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters. Very happy the story will continue with a series. Easy and fun read. Crappy doodles, you have to root for Rose.
The suspense just steaddily has you from one end to another!!! I was so impressed, especially the author, you do know how to write, your mind is amazing. You deserve a very special author award. I told all my book family about this book.
I love the Rose Gardner series. I have read all the books.
It was a pretty good book, it kept my interest
Good read. One of my favorites of late.
This was a book filled with resentment, patience, understanding and sorrow. Rose had a mother who made her life miserable but made her feel guilty for wanted to leave. She played on Rose’s kindness but berating her in the process. Rose had a gift, one that she wanted to stay quiet. When her mother gets killed while she was gone the cops already …
good read!
I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Not as good as some of hers I’ve read.
This was a quick and entertaining read. It was a little predictable but I enjoyed it.
I wasn’t sure st first, I am glad I stuck with it! Visions?? Not my usual thing- I was pleasantly surprised by the likeable characters and good clean story- romance and suspense without graphic descriptions or bad language made this a very enjoyable read. I liked it enough to purchase the next in series which I just started, this book does have s …
