The first book of the New York Times and USA Today bestselling series!
For Rose Gardner, working at the DMV on a Friday afternoon is bad even before she sees a vision of herself dead. She’s had plenty of visions, usually boring ones like someone’s toilet’s overflowed, but she’s never seen one of herself before. When her overbearing momma winds up murdered on her sofa instead, two things are … things are certain: There isn’t enough hydrogen peroxide in the state of Arkansas to get that stain out, and Rose is the prime suspect.
Rose realizes she’s wasted twenty-four years of living and makes a list on the back of a Wal-Mart receipt: twenty-eight things she wants to accomplish before her vision comes true. She’s well on her way with the help of her next door neighbor Joe, who has no trouble teaching Rose the rules of drinking, but won’t help with number fifteen– do more with a man. Joe’s new to town, but it doesn’t take a vision for Rose to realize he’s got plenty secrets of his own.
Somebody thinks Rose has something they want and they’ll do anything to get it. Her house is broken into, someone else she knows is murdered, and suddenly, dying a virgin in the Fenton County jail isn’t her biggest worry after all.
“Though much of the book is light-hearted and occasionally outright hilarious, the author sneaks in a few home truths along the way that will hit you where it counts, like how even someone’s best intentions can box you in.” –Everybody Needs a Little Romance
“This was one of those books that I kept telling myself one more page, then I need to put it down. Instead I found myself tearing through the book instead, needing to know the outcome.” –Just Jump Book Reviews

Just loved it.
I just love this series, easy and very funny read. You easily fall in love with the main character, she is whole and lovable.
Delightful book about a suppressed young woman who decides to exert her independence the day before her overbearing mother is murdered. Suspicion falls on Rose as she becomes drawn to the charms of her mysterious new neighbor. Visions of her own imminent death spur her to look not only for the murderer but to the past and why she had been so …
Good read moved right along lots of surprizes good ending
A fun, entertaining book
I LOVE this book series! Rose is such a loveable character. The supporting characters are interesting and can be quirky in a fun way, unlike some of the sidekicks that pass into annoyingly stupid character.
This book had me spellbound. I could not put it down. I usually do not have that problem and read several at a time. I usually don’t like books who in the first person but I loved this book!
The “innocence” of the main character is too heavy handed for my taste. Parts of the storyline are a little outrageous. That said, I still found the book enjoyable.
This is the first in this series; when I finished it, I immediately found the next one and dived into the world again. Our heroine has a witty sense of humor, a complicated relationship with her sister, a developing relationship with a sexy lover, and a gift that most days she’d rather not have. She also has a bucket list, and you can get a feel …
Just couldn’t get into it. Can’t really say why, but jjst couldn’t get into. Only about 3% read and then put it aside.
Really enjoyed this story. Light easy reading. Good characters and flowing story line. Look forward to reading more in this series.

very enjoyable, light reading. good characters. would like to see more from this author.
See comments for Carrots.
Loved the main character. She was one-of-a-kind. Besides being original she was completely likeable. Plot was fast moving and intriguing. All the other characters around her were at least interesting… Quick and easy to read. Couldn’t put it down until I finished.
Predictable but fun
This story was ok. Main character was so naive it was almost unbelievable.
Like her books. Easy read.
Really enjoyed reading first book and hope to read others
I absolutely loved this book. I have now read every book in this series. And wait anxiously for more to follow.
