I was mortified. I ran away because I couldn’t face the embarrassment of what took place at the party. Now he’s back in the picture and I don’t think I can face him. Will he remember who I am?SAMSam Ellis was not your average Sutton Hill resident. The quaint, coastal town known for its sunshine, crystal clear water, and waspy, upper-class residents. No one was more unfitting than Sam.Sam used to … was more unfitting than Sam.
Sam used to live a fast life: the exotic cars, big house, women that threw themselves at him but when asked to take over his father’s estate all he wanted to do was be left alone.
JAMIE
A little rough around the edges, Jamie never had the best luck. After years of playing venues with her bandmates, she met Sam, entrepreneur and high-profile member of the Sutton Hill Country Club. After crossing paths, Jamie could not get Sam out of her head.
Would Jamie be enough for the hot billionaire who already had everything?

An emotional yet eloquent study into what we can give each other when we take the time to love. . .
Well-written and compelling, “TWELVE MILES” is a shorter novel – less than 200 pages – and one of the most in-depth character studies I’ve read in a while. Author Edward’s eloquence in expressing the highs and lows of self-actualization is masterful, and I found myself consuming the pages eagerly. This character-driven first book of Robin Edwards’s “Serendipity Series” is no fast-paced page-turning barn burner; however, it is exactly what it should be! In “TWELVE MILES” Edwards takes readers through the lives and minds of her two main characters, Sam and Jamie. By altering the point of view from Jamie to Sam and then back again, readers grow to understand how each one thinks, why each has adopted the view of themselves they have, and finally, why they would be so remarkable for each other if they could just get out of their own way! While BOOK ONE allows readers to get to know Sam and Jamie, they will also gain an understanding as to why these two lonely souls have become so important to each other. And perhaps like this reader, will root for them getting together. It’s more than kismet, it’s an inevitability – and to find out what “it” is – well you’ll just have to read the book! Oh, and one more caution readers. Have tissue handy, this one is emotional. I was given an ARC copy of “TWELVE MILES” to prepare this honest, voluntary review suggest that you get your copy of “TWELVE MILES” today. Happy pages!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a quick and easy read that is well written with great characters. The author did a great job on the growth of the characters. I recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
ONE FANTASTIC READ!!!
If you’re looking for an exciting, wonderfully written, pulse racing, misunderstandings, heartache, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you’ve found it. The characters were intriguing and complex with multiple issues to work through. Following the characters along mesmerized as their personalities transformed and blended. The scenes were so realistic with such graphic detailed descriptions that really brought this read to life. Twists, turns and unexpected surprises that kept me on my toes and frozen to my seat. Edwards did a remarkable job bringing this read together beautifully. Great job and thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.
3 1/2 Stars.
Twelve Miles was the first book in the serendipity series by Robin Edwards. It is the story of Jamie, a girl who seems to always be on the outside looking in when it comes to relationships, and Sam, the son of a famous musician who now runs a family non-profit organization. After bumping into each other, Jamie becomes fascinated with Sam, and over time believes that he could be “the one”.
This is a sweet story with adult language but no graphic sex scenes. There are bedroom scenes but little romance. The story ends suddenly with a HFN ending; however the title of this book is mentioned in a passing moment, but never fully explained. I assume it is based on the distance between their homes (but we know what “assume” usually means). While it is technically a stand-alone book, the reader will need to follow up with book 2, Twelve Weeks, to fill in some of the gaps in the storyline. While somewhat incomplete, it sets the stage for continuing the plot in the next book. It is well-written and entertaining. I would have given it 4 stars if I had known that I would have to read the entire series for a satisfying ending.
