SophieAll I did was try to help my best friend escape her abusive boyfriend. And for that I ended up in a wheelchair. Life’s no longer worth living. No man will want me now. But my nightmare is only beginning. Ethan wants me as leverage to get his woman back. I end up under the protection of the Satan’s Devils, an outlaw motorcycle club in Arizona. But with a contract out on me, there’s nowhere else for me to go. There’s one reason for me to stay, the VP of the Satan’s Devils who teaches me to feel like a whole woman again.
Wraith
She doesn’t fit into our world. Fuck, even if she wasn’t in that damn wheelchair she’d be out of her element. But as soon as I saw her something attracted me to her.
From the start I wanted her, but she thinks she’s undesirable and is scared of taking a man to her bed as though her disability defines who she is. I’m going to need to teach her she’s wrong.
But before I can take my chance everything goes to shit. She’s under our protection, but we fail to protect her from one of our own.

5 out of 5 stars
I loved the first book in this boxset. It is the story of Sophie and Wraith. Sophie is a woman who believes that she is broken, that no one would want her. She is still trying to adapt to life now that she is in a wheelchair. She also has come under the protection of the Satan’s Devils MC club. Wraith is the VP of Satan’s Devils and an alpha male. He is determined to protect Sophie. Will Wraith be able to keep Sophie safe from threats both inside and outside the club? What does the future hold for Sophie and Wraith? Read this book to find out. I grew to care about what happens to Sophie and Wraith with each chapter that I read. This story is suspenseful and also has emotional moments. There are romantic scenes that are steamy and make the temperature in the room rise. This is a perfect storyline and beginning to the series.
This was not my first book from this author, but I just can’t get enough of her work. I started in the middle of this series, but got hooked on Manda’s writing style and character development. I knew I had to go back and read this MC series from the beginning and I wasn’t left disappointed. I just love a strong female character. It was so exciting to see Wraith help Sophie to blossom back into her sassy self after suffering the loss of her leg. If you haven’t tried this author, and you enjoy rough, dominant bikers and strong, intriguing female characters, this is the perfect place to start!
Amazing!!! This book was so dynamic and the characters had so much dimension. This is the first book by author Manda Mellett I have listened to or read. I will definitely be searching for more books.
Sophie has found herself in a heap of a mess due to her best friend’s new boyfriend. Everyone is on the run and looking for protection. Sophie finds herself in a MC club under their protection. The things that happen inside an MC club will have you shocked and more than a little disturbed. These guys are not to be screwed with as they will defend each brother or family with his life. This is not the life Sophie knows anything about. Those you think can be trusted end up not trustworthy and attacks come when not expected. The tension grows as the story continues and you will not be able to put it down. Loved Loved Loved this book.
Turning wheels was the first book I’ve read from this author and let me tell you I was not disappointed. She had me wanting to go out and find a biker gang near me and find out how to join. I definitely felt for Sophie right from the start and love how she found hope and help from a most unexpected place. I enjoyed watching her character develop as the book went on. Mellet did well keeping readers on their toes, just when you thought things had settled down for Sophie something else was thrown her way. The only thing I could see as a negative for some is the language used in this book, but as she was trying to portray a biker gang I believe it fits the book well. Would definitely recommend this book.
Turning Wheels: Satan’s Devils MC #1: A Blood Brothers Spinoff, Volume 1 by Manda Mellett is a romance Satan story.
She only wanted to assist my closest friend get away from her violent partner. As a result, she was forced to use a wheelchair. Life isn’t worth living anymore. She will no longer be desired by men. But her horror is only getting started. Ethan wants to use her as a bargaining chip to reclaim his lady. The Satan’s Devils, an illegal motorcycle group in Arizona, end up protecting her. She would have felt at ease among a group of gorgeous, tough motorcyclists as the woman she used to be; as the handicapped woman she is now, she feels afraid and vulnerable, and I quickly discover that this isn’t the safest place to hide. But I have nowhere else to go because I have a contract with her. The VP of the Satan’s Devils, who teaches her how to feel like a full woman again, is one incentive for her to stay.
She isn’t welcome in their world. She’d be out of her element even if she wasn’t in that stupid wheelchair. But something drew him to her as soon as he saw her. He’s always desired her, but she believes she’s unattractive and is afraid of letting a guy into her bed as if her handicap defines who she is. She’ll have to teach her that she’s incorrect. But, before he can seize his opportunity, everything goes to hell. She’s under their protection, but if one of their own fails to defend her, she’ll be in danger.
I loved this story and the concept of it as well.I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more.
This is the first book I’ve read by Manda Mellet, but I love MC reads. I really enjoyed this book. I liked Sophie and Wraith. I liked the twisted story between the characters. It was an interesting read.
I absolutely loved this book. The friendship these two women have envies me. Men’s bond as brothers is very impressive. The sheer determination that Sophie gets is amazing. I really enjoyed the ending as well.
Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC #1) by Manda Mellett – Review by Krista Vaughan
I really enjoy MC novels and this one DOES NOT disappoint! Sadie it’s a resilient and strong female lead and the boys of Satan’s Devils are hot, vicious and protective. Wraith is a sexy stack of muscle and Alpha vibes. His ability to see past Sadie’s injury and the disability it causes shows just how supportive and sweet these big, bad MC guys can be with the women they love. This story is non-stop action with rival gangs, her best friend’s ex with the contact or on her, untrustworthy guys in the inner circle and a hot love story. If you love MC romance novels, you HAVE to read this!
This was a new author for me but after reading the description I decided it was worth the read. My gamble payed off big time as I was hooked from the first page unable to put this book down. I mean sexy bikers, damsels in distress, and a known and unknown threat I was bought in from the beginning and am very interested in reading the whole series.
The beginning couple of chapters are a difficult read that took me through a myriad of emotions. After being a good friend Sophie finds herself the victim with no real closure on who was at fault. Why her? Throughout this book she must come to terms with her new physical abilities and the author really made this character so relatable to what most of us would go through if the same thing had happened to us.
Enter her knight in not so shining armor sent by her friend Zoe to protect her from being used as a pawn in her ex’s dangerous game. Relying on some friends that have a code not to harm women or children Horse takes Sophie to a Biker’s gang in the states that he hopes is out of range of the threat back home. Here she meets Wraith who has sworn off women and doesn’t even want to consider having an old lady. This falls on par with Sophie’s way of thinking I mean after all she feels no man would want to be shackled to someone with so many disabilities.
With the attraction between Wraith and Sophie building will they forgo their original thinking? Can anyone make Wraith settle down? How close is the real threat to Sophie? Are the Satan’s Devils able to protect Sophie from enemies foreign and those close to home? You will have to read this book to find out more but trust me take the leap you absolutely will not regret it!
Turning Wheels is the first novel in the Satan’s Devils MC series. It is about the Tucson chaoter of the Satan’s Devils motorcycle club and follows Wealth, the club’s VP.
Sophie is a loyal friend, who ends up getting injured for being that loyal friend. When she ends up acquiring protection from the most unlikely place. And that protection takes her to a crazy new place, really a whole new world.
Wraith is the VP of the Tucson chapter’s club and happy with his life the way it is. When an honorary member of the club comes to visit with a guest, he is taken aback.
When Wraith and Sophie have to spend more time together, can Wraith convince Sophie that she is still amazing?
I love Manda Mellet’s MC series! They are long, detailed, and true page turners! I cannot wait to read more!
Turning Wheels is the first in it’s series and also a first time read from this author! Most certainly will NOT be my last either! She is now one of my fave authors. Turning Wheels was soooooo GOOD! It was written so realistically. I was riveted from page one. Very addictive story line. It was told in a dual POV between Wraith and Sophie ( which I absolutely love ) Just a stellar story! So eager to read the next story in the series.
This is the 1st book in the Satan’s Devils MC series. This is an MC Romance novel and is 376 pages in length. This story follows Wraith and Sophie. Sophie is imprisoned in a wheelchair due to her best friends abusive boyfriend. Now she is in the protection of the Satan’s Devils MC. Wraith is the VP of Satan’s Devils and has taken a quick liking to Sophie. The one thing that made her feel somewhat safe at the club, was the fact that these bikers are very protective. With Sophie being in a wheelchair, her self-worth is at its lowest point. Wraith needs to change her mind and make her see what he sees. Just as he was about to do just that, everything fell apart. Definitely a good read!!
Manda Mellett does an amazing job in this new spin off series. This story is a little different take on the usual MC romance. I love that Manda shows us, even though you may have physical disabilities, a gal deserves her happily ever after, MC style. I can’t wait to read other books in this series, I know I won’t be disappointed
Loved getting lost in this world of danger, violence, bikers, adrenaline, romance, and spice! The writing is totally immersive, and the characters are so well developed that it will have you caring for them and even fearing for their safety! Sophie’s growth is sad and beautiful to witness and the plot twists were unexpected, thrilling and sometimes sad. This book also had me laughing on more than one occasion. If you found yourself enjoying shows like Sons of Anarchy, then you will love this book! The book also addresses some pretty serious issues, and trigger warnings (thought not too many) should be checked. Honestly super excited to read the other books in this series!
I. Am. In. Love. I can’t get enough of these guys!! I love MC books, and these are becoming easily in my top five series. Manda has a great way with her characters, and Wraith is one of my favorites this far.
This is my first book by Manda Mellett and to won’t be my last. This is the first of this series and I cannot wait to read the rest. The characters are written so well and I felt like I knew them in my real life. I’m not normally into MC stories but this may become my exception.
Turning Wheels (Satan’s Devils MC #1) by Manda Mellett is the first book in this series. I was not familiar with this author, but took a leap, and I am glad I did. The main character, Sophie, is endearing and relatable as they come, and her story is definitely an original twist on the everyday romance. The author’s way of telling Sophie’s story is interesting and vivid and keeps the pages turning. You really don’t know what is going to happen next! The juxtaposition of Sophie and Wraith make this a very steamy, very intriguing romance story that kept me hooked until the very end. I love these two characters together. This is not a book you want to pick up at bed time to “wind down.” Unless you really just want to keep reading until you hear the birds sing, then go ahead!! This is really a great read. 5 stars.
I’m not sure how Manda Mellett does it. Seriously. Every one of her books has at least five moments that just utterly brings me to my knees. In a wonderful way, please don’t misunderstand. And her brilliant series started here. Every page. Every character. You will connect quickly and not be able to let go. Buy the whole series STAT. Because once you start, you won’t want it to end.
Turning Wheels was the first book by Manda Mellett that I read and I am sooooooo happy that I picked this one up. I loved Sons of Anarchy and this was right up my alley. She had great character development and she made me go through so many emotions through out the book that I cant wait to pick up the next one in the series.
Sophie is a victim of a hit and run that leaves her in a wheelchair, one legged and helpless. She goes through it all with wanting to kill herself. Whos is going to want a cripple as a girlfriend/lover/wife. Her friend Zoe her best friend gets in a world of trouble and Sophie has to make a run for it. She gets the protection of the Satans Devil MC. Will Sophie be in her element or not? How will she get on with her life there? She blames herself for bringing all the bad stuff to the club. With some bullying and determination she finds a way out of her wheelchair thanks to Peg and Wraith.
This book is so action packed that it just keeps you reading and wanting more that I am grateful there are more in the series.
This book was a good one. I have read many books by this author and this one was a good one to spend my weekend reading and made me remember why I like this author so much. Good writing & loveable characters! I will be reading more by her in the future because I can’t get enough of these MC books!
Happy Reading!
