Author Interview
Q: What makes the Wishful series special?
Wishful is a collection of southern romance novels honoring my Mississippi roots. When I started the series, I set out to highlight everything that I love about living in the small town South–all our quirks, foibles, and dreams provide a fabulous (and often funny) backdrop to contemporary romances about stubborn, independent women and the men who love them.
Q: Who would dig these books?
Wishful is a southern romance series written for anyone looking for love in a small town. If you loved Hart of Dixie and miss the residents of Bluebell, you just might fall in love with Wishful. It’s a town where everybody knows your name and hope springs eternal! My many of my readers also enjoy the books of Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Kristan Higgins, Melanie Shawn, Ava Miles, and Jill Shalvis.
Q: What order should I read the books in?
This southern romance series has been written so that each story is a standalone that wraps up with a happily ever after by The End. That said, if you want to read them in chronological order I suggest this:
* To Get Me To You (Cam and Norah)
* Be Careful, It’s My Heart (Brody and Tyler)
* Know Me Well (Liam and Riley)
* Just For This Moment (Myles and Piper)
* Wish I Might (Reed and Cecily), part of the Virtually Yours anthology
* Turn My World Around (Tucker and Corinne)
Q: Are there crossovers with other series?
YES! My Meet Cute Romance series of novelettes includes two Wishful stories.
* Once Upon A Coffee (predates To Get Me To You)
* Once Upon A Setup (the prequel to Just For This Moment)

A heartbreaking, steamy and romantic story full of redemption and learning how to stand on your own again. So far this has been my favorite book in this series, I have been waiting to see Corinne’s journey since we were first introduced to her.
“I wish for the chance to be seen as who I am now, not who I used to be.”
I love all of the books I have read by this author. Heck. I went on a binge with the Misfit Inn series. I have several more in my wish list
I was a little worried that because I’ve been looking forward to Tucker & Corrine’s story for so long that Kait Nolan might not have been able to live up to my expectations. I should know better!
I loved this story. Former mean girl Corrine catches the attention of town sweetheart Tucker. We learn that Tucker has actually had his eye on this single mom for quite some time. Norah has more ideas and this time Wishful has a dance contest. More townsfolk scheme landing Tucker & Corrine was partners. Toss in Corinne’s adorable son and I was totally hooked.
While absolutely a sexy romance, this is also a lovely story of repentance and redemption. There’s a fabulous HEA, for Corinne as an individual and for her relationship with Tucker.
Amy McFadden rocks this again. The emotions were strong with this one and well done. I continue to be thrilled with this writer/narrator team.
I’ve read several books in this series, and I’ve liked them all. This one honestly portrayed the struggles of being a single mother and the effects of abuse on a person’s psyche. Corinne reminded me of a Hemingway quote, “Life breaks everyone, but some people get strong in the broken places.” Tucker is a wonderful hero. Every woman should have a Tucker in her life.
Didn’t want to put it down!
Great book
Great book great story
Kait Nolan classic. Small town romance. Entertaining. It’s great to be back in Wishful!
Laughed, cried and felt true emotion of and for these characters. A fun read that leaves you happy all over.
Easy, pleasant read. Enjoyable.
Second Chances
Corinne was trying to make a better life for herself and her son. She was the mean girl in high school, but it was her way of dealing with her parents. Tucker has a thing for her but knew she wouldn’t have him back then. Now she is back in town and he is going slow. But a dance competition brings them together.
Wonderful story, wonderful characters. The plot centers on a woman struggling to redeem herself from a past as a high school mean girl. Definitely worth reading.
Love this author!
A sweet story set in the small town of Wishful, MS, Corrine and Tucker become part of a dance competition and pursue a romance. Corrine’s bad girl past as well as her reasons for divorce from her Ex become the roadblocks. Sweet with a little heat.
I hadn’t read the description carefully enough to catch the “mean girl” part, because if I had I probably wouldn’t have even tried the book… and that would have been a shame! As a target of mean girls and bullies not only in high school but from 3rd grade on, I don’t have much sympathy for the breed, but Ms. Nolan hooks the reader in by introducing the heroine as she is *now* not how she was then, and we’re instantly sympathetic to her plight… and for heaven’s sakes it has been 10 years, people need to get over themselves. And they do! The whole thing was handled wonderfully by the author, a great balancing act of bringing Corinne through the tricky maze of public opinion. I thought it was great how she worked the conflict with Whitney, her old ex-best-friend. This was just a great read that left me smiling! I’ll be going back to read the rest of the series now!
I have been waiting to Tucker to get his HEA. He has been in earlier books and has always been there for his friends, strong and willing to help where needed. Corinne is a single mum, trying to do her best to atone for her previous mistakes and make life better for herself and her son. She and Tucker are so good together. This story has lots of emotions, it will take you on a rollercoaster ride all the way to the HEA. I love the Wishful series and look forward to reading more.
Love, love, love each and every character this author presents!
I have been provided with a copy of Turn My World Around by the author for an impartial review. This is another wonderful book in the Wishful Romance series. This book just had my emotions all over the place. In this beautiful story you get to learn more about Corinne Dawson who we have previously met in an earlier Wishful Romance book and finally see why she is the way she is. I loved getting to see Corinne and Tucker together and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing their journey throughout this story. I can’t wait to read more by this author.
It’s good to get back to Wishful, that small southern town that’s so similar to every other small town in America, only not quite. Anyone who grew up in small-town America will relate to this series. They’ll totally understand all the undercurrents that run through the town and how utterly frustrating, but endearing, the people are.
Turn My World Around is book six in the series. I had to read some of my old reviews and the book blurbs from this series to remember exactly who Tucker McGee was. Hey, I’ve read a lot of books since my last Wishful book, give me a break! It didn’t take long…Tucker made an impression in that first book. It was nice to finally have a story that was all about him. It was also great to reconnect with all of the others from Wishful, to see where their lives have gone, and to see where they’re headed.
If you like a story about a single parent trying to make a new life, an adorable little boy, and the town golden boy, you’ll like this one! It’s sweet with just a little bit of spice and drama, it’s about truly earning forgiveness and accepting that may never happen, and most of all it’s about turning your life around and never giving up.
I love all of Kait Nolan’s books. They take place in a town close to where I was born and raised.
