A stand alone ‘opposites attract’ story!CASSIEI’m determined to leave my mistakes in the past. These days I’m back in school, I’m surrounded by my wonderful, crazy family and I’m working for my dad. Then Curtis Mulligan happens.A supposedly reformed gang member from the rundown prison town where my folks grew up, Curtis looks like he was built for mayhem. We have nothing in common. If he hadn’t … mayhem.
We have nothing in common.
If he hadn’t taken a job working for my father, our paths wouldn’t even cross.
But I can’t admit that menacing mix of ink and muscle has flipped a switch inside of me.
It’s an impulse I’m determined to ignore.
However, when Curtis turns out to be much more than he seems and steps between me and a bad situation, I wind up owing him a hell of a favor.
And I can’t think of anything but paying him back…
CURTIS
I should have been dead a dozen times over but somehow I’m still here.
I’m grateful for the chance to keep my head down and act like a regular citizen. Screwing up isn’t an option and getting naked with the boss’s daughter is no way to thank the man for a job.
Besides, sweet, clueless Cassie Gentry isn’t the kind of girl I’m used to entertaining myself with. I had planned to keep my hands off even if she begged for it.
But that was before I realized Cassie is much more than a pretty face.
She just might be the girl who can turn me around for good…
TURN is the latest book set in the Gentry world from USA Today and NYT Bestselling author Cora Brent. May be read as a stand alone.

There is just something about this author that makes me love and savour every single word she writes. Her writing style is just the sort I love…..I’d even read her shopping list!
It’s no secret that I am in total love with The Gentry’s, but Conway is my absolute favourite.
However now I have doubt.
I hate to have doubt.
The doubt is in the form of Curtis.
I LOVE HIM!
Conway has a rival for my affections!
This woman can write a hot guy!
And Cassie is just fabulous in every way. I mean come on….’I returned to the front desk and tried to look like a girl who wasn’t fighting the urge to run to the bathroom and have a masturbatory fantasy about the man who would be sleeping on her parents’ couch tonight.’
I could’ve read this story on and on. I don’t ever want this series to end, or any spin offs. I’ve got myself into an excitable state now so I’m just off to add this whole series to my reread pile!
The bad boy and the good girl both with past they rather forget. Each of them struggling with demons. They do not hit it off from the beginning, but develop a little bit of a friendship but it is still a push and pull kind of thing. This story was a slow burn leading up to something very explosive. I enjoyed every moment of this book. I adored the Gentry’s and this next generation is just as good.
Curtis Mulligan (the bad boy) is trying his best turn his life around, not only for himself, but his two brothers.
Cassie Gentry (the good girl) is still trying to find her way in life and what she really wants out of that life.
Both Curtis and Cassie have some baggage from their pasts that they are dealing with. They are now both working at Scratch (family owned tattoo business) and get off on the wrong foot and drawing the wrong conclusions on who the other person is.
I liked these two characters, but I wasn’t feeling the “love” they were claiming for each other by the end of the book. To me is more like lust. The bad boy wants the good girl, and the good girl wants the bad boy type relationship. One minute they are just getting to know each other and then BAM, Cassie is living with Curtis and are madly in love.
I am still a little unsure of the whole Parker Neely situation. Why? Why did he come back to Cassie’s life? Was it a bet with old friends? Was he a stalker? Revenge? Ms. Brent left too many unanswered questions for me.
I loved that the Gentry family is still strong and having each other’s back. That is probably the reason I enjoy these books…the strong family unity.
With Cassie and Curtis, it’s abundantly clear that when a reformed bad bad with a heart of gold meets a Gentry darling sparks will fly and there is no denying their well deserved HEA! Cassie knows it’s time to finally pop the protective bubble she has been hiding in since high school. She was so grateful to have her family support her, but she needs to start really living again. When she meets Curtis Mulligan while working at Scratch, it’s instantly apparent the handsome tattooed gent seems less than impressed with her. She tries to be friendly…. nothing – she tries to ignore him… nada… it appears Curtis really just doesn’t particularly want to pick up what she’s putting down. Curtis has had what can only be described has a very colorful past. From a very tender age he when was jumped into the Emblem Rioters and that affiliation lead to pretty poor life choices along the way. When his mother called him randomly and frantic when looming charges were coming down on her he knew that for his brothers’ sakes he would have to straighten up and fly right. So he packed up Brecken and Tristan and leaving behind Emblem and gets a job with a friend old their father Deck Gentry. It’s not easy raising two boys and trying his hardest to keep his head above water but he determined. When he meets Cassie Gentry, he knows that she is about a million tiers above his station, but he can’t help but yearn after kindhearted beauty. An angel inside and out he wants what he shouldn’t especially in light of all her family her family has done for him. The angel and the bad boy a tale as old as time but with a delightful Gentry twist.
I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book.
I am absolutely in love with the Gentry family and each story enamours me even more, this one is no exception. Curtis and Cassie’s story was a beautiful one about family, second chances, strength, acceptance and most of all love. This read will pull you in with the chemistry between the characters and the relationship they build while capturing your heart! I highly recommend this amazing read from Cora!
A great addition to the Gentry second generation series. Never judge a book by its cover… loved Curtis, he turned his life around and is working to do better and Cassie, she’s not quick to trust and found it in unlikely of places. Love Cora Brent’s writing and highly recommend this book.
LOVE the Gentrys!
I fell in love with the first generation of Gentrys and could barely contain my excitement when the next generation was announced. When twins, Cassie and Cami, were introduced as adults in Strike, I was intrigued by Cami’s mystery. What had happened to her to have her go from a bubbly high school cheerleader to a virtual shut in that was just beginning to venture back out into life? All of the questions I had about her in Strike were answered in Turn and if I could give this book more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. This book was all about second chances, turning your life around, and not letting mistakes of the past define your future.
I loved everything about Cassie and Curtis. They both believed they knew everything they needed to know about the other, he’s a former gang member, she’s a privileged princess, but they were quickly proven wrong. I also love getting to see the first generation of Gentrys as parents. There is so much love and support in this family and I feel like with every new book, I become even more of a part of that family than before. I’m really looking forward to seeing what comes next for the Gentry Family!
Read as a part of KU.
I LOVE being involved with the families I saw being created! I read the three Gentry brothers’ stories quite a while ago, and being able to dive back in and see their beautiful families makes my heart happy. Good story and I can’t wait for more!
