I’ll be honest. I rarely give 5 stars in a book review, even to my favorite authors. To me, that 5th star is saved for the best of the best. A story that grips me, holds on tight, and doesn’t let go. A story that’s free of grammatical errors, that has flawless writing, and isn’t just “same ole same old” stuff. Adriana Locke delivers with her first installment in a new series “Dogwood Lane.” Tumble kept me up at night (it was worth it) and had me reading during breaks at work. I didn’t want it to end. I can’t wait to see future books in this series.
Adriana Locke is so great at small-town romance and she did not disappoint with this introduction to Dogwood Lane. I’m a sucker for a single dad and Dane was a swoony one. He and Neely had such great chemistry and Mia just stole my heart. Looking forward to more in this series!
Adriana writes families and small towns so well. You get invested in the characters and want books for everyone you meet in town. So, Addy get in that will ya! This is book one in a new series.
Dane and Neely are perfectly normal and a little broken. Dane is a single dad and Neely comes back to town after years away from where her heart always was on Dogwood lane with Dane but now is now and then was then. Can the past be left there? You should read this book and find out!
I love Tumble for its simplicity. It was a second chance romance that will warm your feelings with easiness. Adriana had captured the story with deep feelings and the comfort being in small town. I cant put it down once I have started reading. Tumble was sexy, flirtatious and fun.

is a sexy, second-chance, small town romance that will have you laughing, swooning, and blushing from the very start! Neely and Dane’s steamy and emotional happily ever after is just the beginning of what’s sure to be an absolutely ADDICTING and CHARMING new romance series! Adriana Locke takes us to , Tennessee where the southern charm is at an all time high. I was intrigued and giddy from the very start and I never wanted to leave! If you’re looking for a story that will make you sigh, characters that will make you melt, and a town that will make you fall in love…you’ve come to the perfect place! First loves, second chances, southern charm, and a bit of redemption…you can’t go wrong with an Adriana Locke romance…ever!

Adriana Locke does it again with a somewhat-angsty, small-town, second chance romance (don’t worry, despite my wordy description it’s not overly tropey). Locke does small-town really well – and while it’s fun to read about billionaires and CEOs, sometimes it’s nice to read about people who have “real” jobs – like carpenters and waitresses (and not struggling waitresses in small towns who end up meeting a visiting billionaire CEO and falling in love).
So, I have to admit I failed to re-read the blurb before I started reading so I was caught somewhat by surprise by the fact that Dane was a single-dad. And frankly, there’s not much I find sexier than a well-written single dad! Dane was pretty damn swoony – and the way he was with his daughter, Mia was just incredibly sweet.
There’s a whole lot of history between Neely and Dane and frankly, I’m not sure I could be as quick to forgive as Neely was given what Dane had done when they were younger, but he certainly redeemed himself in the end! Neely is faced with a decision that many women feel they need to make. Maybe not to the extent or degree that she did, but it still often comes down to feeling like you need to decide between work-success or family-success, sometimes. Her ultimate decision goes a long way towards showing that “work success” isn’t always what you (or society) has been led to believe it has to be.
I’m very much looking forward to getting stories for the rest of the cast of characters from Dogwood Lane that we met. And while I’m generally of the belief that the book is almost always better than the film, I’m going to wrap up my review by saying this could make a really AMAZING movie, if well done.

Second chance romances are kind of my thing right now. I have read many, loving each, and finding them each unique in their own ways. Tumble is unique not because of the second chance romance but because of Mia. Mia is Dane’s (love that name) daughter. She is smart, she is sassy, she is so fun that I loved how much of a role she played in the relationship of Neely and Dane. She kept them all on their toes and made them take stock of what they wanted.
Tumble is sweet and feels real to me. The characters have broken hearts that need closure. That closure has to come from the two of them being together, finding their happiness, and coming to accept what had happen in the past. Both Dan and Neely are strong, successful, and loving people who know what they want in life and know what has to be done to get there.
I look forward to more with these characters. There are many secondary characters that I’d love to see get their HEA’s.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Tumble is a small town second chance single father romance. <--- tics all my boxes. Swoon worthy single dad Check Small town Check Amazing cast of characters Check Adorable little kids Check Combustable chemistry Absofreakinglutely Check There is not a scene in this book where sparks did not go off between the Neely and Dane. You could feel the steam through the pages. I could not put this book down. This story has its ups and downs, made me laugh and cry but the best books do. Loved it!
Loved this second chance romance. Adriana Locke did not disappoint with this new read and begins of this series I could not put this book down. I read in one setting. I can’t wait fo th next installment. Dane and Neely are so great.
New second chance, small town romance from Adriana Locke!
I was super excited when I heard the announcement for this new series. I love a good small town story, and with the Gibson Boys series, I had a good feeling that this one could give me the same feeling. After reading, I was wrong and I was right.
Dogwood Lane was filled with the small town feeling I was hoping for – it had old friends, family, high school acquaintances (and enemies), and first love. When Neely returns there to lick her wounds and regain her composure, I was encompassed into this world with her. Seeing Dane, I felt like I was struggling right there with her. While we’re on the subject of Dane … single dad? Yes, please. Mia is his little girl and she is sooooooo cute! Honestly, I think I was most invested in her.
If you’ve read stories from this author before, even with the love and laughter they provoke, there was always something deeper to them. Something I felt deep inside myself. For this story, I felt a lot while reading, but the vibe was a bit … lighter. I enjoyed the story (single dad stories are my THING), the characters, and the world created, but there was something about my connection that just wasn’t as vibrant in this one.
Saying all this, I am still anticipating the next installment. I’m completely invested in these characters and I really want them to find all their happiness.
*****4.5 Stars****
Adriana Locke is my go to author for small-town romances and she never disappoints!
Dane and Neely have a past full of love, betrayal, and heartache yet even within just the first few pages of this book there’s no doubt they were meant to be together.
Dane made some bad choices that broke Neely’s heart, and it’s obvious he’s never forgotten her and is truly sorry for hurting her.
I can certainly understand why Neely ran away for so long and deemed his actions unforgivable, however as in most cases everything happens for a reason and a certain lovable little person in Dane’s life would not exist had he made a different choice.
The road to total trust and forgiveness was challenging and this author did an amazing job of creating a story that was realistic, and full of humor and witty banter amongst the heartache.
Tumble is every bit One-click worthy!
I absolutely loved this book. Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The angst, the words and the story was just perfect. The characters in this story made me laugh and broke my heart a little. Seriously this was an absolutely amazing love story. Adriana Locke made me fall in love with all of the characters in this story and I never wanted this story to end. I hope she writes more in this series and it’s one of my favorite books I’ve read this year.
At first, I was unsure if I would be able to finish this story after the big reveal how Dane broke Neely’s heart,. But I love Adriana’s writing and the story line was coming together. I only wished Neely made Dane “work for it” a lot more than what he had too. But that is where the rant ends for me.
After I got over that part, I felt the romance start to pick up. I was not expecting Mia and how developed her character was. Dane had me swooning over him. Neely broke my heart a time or two. The emotions were raging through me with Tumble. From being angry, to heartbroken, then surprised, to the major heat factor, to finally a HEA. Tumble has it all!
This is a small town second chance romance. Tumble will have you stumbling over each and every page!
I’m a sucker for 2nd chance love stories, and this did not disappoint! It’s also a story of forgiveness and learning that sometimes what we think we want isn’t our true goal. 5 big stars.
Neely has come back home to Dogwood Lane to lick her wounds after quitting her job as a sports journalist. A job she loved and deserved the promotion she was denied. When she left Dogwood Lane all those years ago after a horrible breakup with her then love, Dane, she didn’t think she’d ever want to come back, not if it meant she’d have to see Dane happy without her. But lo and behold, she’s incomeless now, so hometown here she comes. Only, home isn’t so bad she’s finding. There are so many wonderful things that she missed while in New York – the nosy but sweet people, the small-town charm, and Dane. Yep, Dane. That Dane. The one who broke her heart and is so much sexier now than he was when she left. The Dane who seems to want to be, at the very least, friends with her again. Hmm…
Can Neely’s heart survive Dane again? What about his gorgeous little daughter, with whom she shares a love of gymnastics? Can she allow them into her life only to leave and go back to New York when she finds a new job? That’s what she wants, right? To go back to New York again? Or will all of her small town’s charm keep her rooted in her hometown, where things move much slower than in the big city, but have a heart not ever seen in the Big Apple?
I so loved Tumble!!! It’s full of Adriana Locke’s signature sweet brand of sexiness, lots of heart, and an amazing cast of primary and secondary characters. I am so impressed by how Dane and Neely handled their second chance. It could have been full of lots of mean, heart-rending barbs, considering how and why they broke up, but nope, they had grown up and acted like it. Oh sure, there was still obviously hurt there, especially on Neely’s part, but she was an absolute star in the way she treated Dane and Mia. She could have been prickly and mean, instead she behaved like the good person her mom raised her to be, and I loved that about her. And Dane? That man is so damn swoony I about cried. Single dads are always sexy, but they aren’t always as sweet and swoony as Dane. Sigh…I’m still sighing and swooning because I loved Dane, and Neely, and cannot wait to explore Dogwood Lane more!
There is a reason Adriana is a top 100 Amazon author! All of her books are amazing. <3
This newest series beginner, told from dual first person POV’s, from Adriana Locke comes as a light, second chance romance that’s really enjoyable. I sat with my Kindle and read about 75% in one sitting (then finished this morning) absorbed in the characters, camaraderie, and setting in Dogwood Lane. Locke’s story telling flows easily thanks to her lovely writing and the low angst yet palpable tension we get from her main characters.
As high school sweethearts who haven’t seen each other for ten years after some seemingly irreparable damage, Dane and Neely are once again in each other’s orbits. I liked how Locke gave us briefs of their pasts without dedicating whole chapters to it. The story stays in the present and guides us through the journey of these two finding their way back to each other. Each of them with trials to face as far as who they are individually as well as together. Neely especially examines what’s most important to her. There’s some secondary characters throughout this story too that really illuminate it. I hope we get their stories in the Dogwood Lane books to come.
While you could say the plot is predictable within it’s traits of second chance romance, Adriana Locke unfolds Tumble so effortlessly that it entertains beautifully. I found it serene, romantic and full of charm and thoroughly enjoyed reading it.
This has everything I want in a romance. Fabulous characters, quirky small town, friendship from childhood family values , adorable funny children , witty banter and a second chance of romance. Dane is sexy and Neely feisty, characters that your willing to get together right from the first page. This book has all the feels and couldn’t put it down.
YAASSSS!!! Adriana Locke has written another incredible, heart warming, small town love story about second chances.
I absolutely LOVED Tumble. I adored Dane and Neely, and I am so excited about all the new characters. Adriana has the BEST characters! They are real and relatable. Each with their own endearing, captivating personality.
When I pick up one of her novels, I just know that I am going to laugh, sigh, and swoon until the very end. There’s nothing like losing yourself in her words and falling in love with her hero.
Tumble was everything I hoped it would be and has left me wanting more from Dogwood Lane. I am excited for what is yet to come!
