I enjoyed reading Tucker and Gillian’s story in Tucker by Emily March; book 17 in her Eternity Springs series. After his days as a US Army Ranger are over, Tucker McBride decides to put his expertise to use by starting a wilderness skills training school. He sets up shop next door to Bliss Bridal. As part owner of Bliss Bridal Salon, Gillian Thacker finds her life isn’t turning out the way she planned. The last thing she expects is for a real-life hero to come to her rescue when her entire future, living in Redemption, Texas, is at risk. This broken-hearted bridal expert is badly in need of a new set of survival skills. Tucker is totally attracted to Gillian and would love to have her in his life. When life implodes for Gillian, Tucker convinces her to take his hand and jump, feet first, into the adventure of a lifetime. After all, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas; or does it? Maybe Redemption needs some of the hope and healing one finds in Eternity Springs.
I adored Tucker!! He worked hard to overcome the difficulties of starting over when his dreams became nightmares. He believed in family first and was there for you when he was needed. However, I struggled with Gillian; I’m not sure if I ever connected with or understood her. She was the epitome of a girly girl. She had a list, for her plans, and had to follow it to the tee; no matter how wrong things were. Tucker saved the day for her more than once yet she wanted to keep him a secret and deny her feelings for him; she treated her cheating ex- better than Tucker.
Ms. March wrote a sweet and emotional story that should not be missed. It was a story filled with sexual attraction, and endearing characters. Encounters with Celeste Blessing and her cousin, Angelica, are reminders of the healing power of Eternity Springs. You do not need to read the previous books to enjoy this one. I highly recommend Tucker to other readers and look forward to Emily March’s next book.

This is a new author for me, and I was looking forward to finally reading one of her books. I really tried to like this book, but in the end I found myself skipping through a good part of it because it was just so irritating. Gillian was just plain indecisive, and nothing irritates me more than a character who is wishy washy, that was Gillian to the nymph degree. Tucker was a bit better, but honestly, I would have given up long ago on a woman who just couldn’t make up her mind and kept leading me around by my nose. Support characters were enablers, which doesn’t bode well for me, but they were her friends none the less. Enjoyed the setting of the book, but everything else just eh.

u202aIn the wilds of Enchanted Canyon, Tucker comes to peace with his decision to leave the army and makes plans for his future. Unfortunately his desire for a family does not look likely to happen any time soon as the only woman who has attracted him since he arrived in Redemption is engaged to be married. When Gillian’s dreams implode and her engagement is broken off, Tucker embarks on “Operation Horny Toad” – a plan to get to know her better.u202c
u202aTucker and Gillian have nothing in common – he loves roughing it outdoors whereas she loves comfort and spas but that doesn’t affect the attraction between them. A lovely story, highly recommended.u202c
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a sentimental love story. It involves self discovery, healing and boundless love. Tucker is a on a journey when he meets Gillian whom he renames Glory. Gillian is having second thoughts about the man she is to marry. The author takes us on a realistic journey of a couple falling in love and deciding to spend their life together. She is able to bring out the readers delight as she shares the thoughts of her characters as they work on getting where they need to be. It’s a small town with good friends and family who love and support each other. There are no dramatics, just an easygoing story that you will love.
So here’s the thing – while I liked this book I wasn’t blown away. Overall it was enjoyable read but Gillian kept pushing my buttons. I could understand why she had her walls up high but seeing Tucker how he was determined to show her how good they could be, she (in my opinion) could have been more open to the possibility of a new love.
I really liked Tucker and his personality. I loved his planing skills and the way he used them to show his interest and love for Gillian. When she finally came to her sense, you could tell they were perfect for each other.
This one is getting 3.5* from me. I’m hoping this one was more it’s-me-not-you type of book and the next one to blew me away.

Another well written, page turning Eternity Springs novel. I loved Tucker, he was just toe curlingly gorgeous & so patient with Gillian. I liked Gillian but didn’t love her as she was too much of a ditherer for me & I felt she was more focused on solely the wedding rather than the relationship. I did love how their relationship developed & how they achieved their HEA. I hope this series goes on & on as I also love secondary characters.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I absolutely adored getting grubby with Tucker and Gillian!
When these two first meet, the sparks are fiery hot but Gillian is engaged to someone else. As Tucker gets settled in the small town of Redemption, Gillian is struggling to make her dream wedding come true. This is a delightful story, full of heart and charm as Gillian and Tucker first build a friendship before they embark on a romance.
And oh, what a romance it is! The events leading up to the official start of their love story were intense and my heart truly broke for Gillian’s pain, but Tucker really came through for her in a huge way and showed her that life was full of possibilities. Watching the aftermath of their impulsive weekend was sublime, and the final resolution was pure perfection.
Both Celeste and Angelica are in fine form in this book, offering up just the right insights and life lessons for everyone in town. Hints were left like breadcrumbs for what I hope will be the next story for Boone, while this story gave us a beautiful HEA for Tucker and Gillian as it dovetailed perfectly with Jackson and Caroline’s epilogue. If you’ve ever been to Eternity Springs, you don’t want to miss this enchanting installment of the fantastic series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I like this author she has a way of sucking you into a story and always has fun a quirky characters. I am so glad the Blessing cousins are back in this story you never know what will come out of their mouths and what they are going to be up to next. I really liked Tucker he was a Cowboy through and through, He was a perfect hero for this story nothing anyone could say or do could change who he is as a person. Gillian was a broken soul who needed the perfect person to come and help her heal but her family and friends always had her back. I loved the friendship between the girls they always have each others backs. This book does discuss sex and has some language so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall I really enjoyed this book it was a super fun read.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
I haven’t read any of the other stories in this series; so, yes, these can be read as “stand-alone” books. I found the story to flow well, the writing is good and the characters are well defined. As the title says, this is Tucker’s story. He’s recently left the military and is at loose ends; deciding to head “home” and redefine a life that he believed would always be in the military. On the ride home, he comes across a “damsel in distress”; his first meeting with Gillian Thacker. Tucker is taken with Gillian; but, Gillian is taken. She’s engaged to a banker in her town, Redemption. She and her mother own a bridal salon. Will Tucker always regret what “might have been” or will he find his happily ever after? Come spend some time in Redemption and meet all the rich characters that call it home; including the Callahan and McBride families.
Gillian is engaged, but there is trouble in paradise, and finally engagement is ended by her fiancée.
She is devastated, but mostly so, because she doesn’t miss her fiancée but the dream she had with marriage…
Tucker is out from army and is not sure where to go. First time he sees Gillian, is when she walks on the side of the highway in her heels, he help her….but that was when she was engaged.
Now he opened business and Gillian is free woman.
The story is sweet, loved the way Tucker was treating Gillian.
Sweet, romantic, lovely.
OK, apparently this is 17th in the Eternity Springs series (2nd in the McBride series)…and the first I’ve read from either. So while I didn’t feel lost, there was definitely some backstory.
The writing was fine, but I had issues with both mains. I found Tucker too cocky, and a tad chauvinistic and annoying as he approached “winning” Gillian as a military campaign (as he is a veteran). Gillian is a bit ditzy, overly emotional and too indecisive. Yes, her ex-fiancé was a real jerk, but I never got the feeling she was very emotionally involved with him, and considering that she had her own doubts about the wedding, I felt her emotional bouts were too over-the-top.
I’ve definitely read better.
Thanks to #NetGalley and #StMartinsPress for providing me the ARC. The opinions are strictly my own.

Tucker is the second book in The McBrides of Texas series and it was as enjoyable as the first book was!
Tucker McBride has recently returned from the military and he has to determine what is next for him. When he returns to Redemption, he ends up spending some time in nature and also spending some time with his cousin’s daughter which leads him to think about having a family, which isn’t something he had entertained before. He ultimately decides that one of the things he’s best at is wilderness survival, so he and his cousins open a wilderness training school in town and it happens to be near Bliss Bridal Salon, which also happens to house one of the co-owners, who caught Tucker’s eye when he rescued her when she was stranded on the side of the road.
Gillian Thacker owns Bliss Bridal Salon with her mother and she’s currently engaged and planning her own wedding, however things aren’t going quite as she had planned with her fiance. As she begins to realize things are not as they seem with her fiance, and she ultimately finds herself brokenhearted, she turns to Tucker for support.
Will something develop between the two once Gillian is free to explore the amazing chemistry between she and Tucker?
I enjoyed the story and both characters very much. The supporting cast in the book was extremely entertaining as well. This was filled with romance, passion, and humor and it’s one I would recommend.
I received a digital ARC of this novel courtesy of NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.
I found this to be an entertaining and easy read. It was very well written, and I really enjoyed the chemistry between Tucker and Gillian. This was the second book in the series but it definitely can be read as a stand alone book without any trouble. I have read a few of this author’s previous books and like those this book didn’t disappoint. I would certainly recommend it to others that enjoy small town romances.
“Tucker” (Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas #2) by Emily March
I received an ARC of this story from the publisher with the request for a review. Honestly, I loved this story. It had all the reasons for getting completely immersed in a story. Love, Romance, Heartbreak, Healing, an easy to dislike character, well actually maybe three(?) of those. Plus a host of characters you would be ever so pleased to have as your friends and family. Yes, this story is very much worth the read. Happy Reading ! !
This book captivated me from the beginning. I’ve really enjoyed other books by Emily March and found Tucker just as good.
This book was a sweet romance that was also very funny in spots. Poor Gillian is dealing with her fiance dumping her, while Tucker is ready to move in on her once she’s single. His plan to do it is creative and smart. He’s an outdoorsy kind of guy and Gillian is just about the polar opposite. Her taking his wilderness class was a lesson in frustration for her, but a different kind of frustration for him as he watched her lean down to blow on her kindling.
My favorite part was their totally opposite reactions and feelings about what she does when she gets stranded in the woods. The difference between men and women rears it’s ugly head!
This book was so fun to read! Loved it and Tucker and Gillian.
I was given a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley.
Tucker McBride is at a crossroads in his life, does he go to Redemption, Tx or home to Ft. Worth, TX after ending his career as an Army Ranger. He rescues a woman lost and is instantly attracted. Sadly, he discovers she is engaged and off limits. Tucker finds purpose again for his life in Redemption as a wilderness survival teacher. Gillian Thacker owns a bridal salon with her mom in Redemption and is planning to open an event planning business once she is married. After being rescued and kissed by Tucker McBride Gillian finds herself having second thoughts. Will Tucker and Gillian find their happiness with each other or with someone else? I really love this series by Emily March. Totally recommend Tucker and Gillian’s story. I laughed, cried, and found myself cheering these two on. *****
Tucker is book 2 in the Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas Series by Emily March. Even though this book is second in the series it can very well be read as a standalone. Ms. March wrote a wonderful story which drew me right in, and did not let me go until I turned the last page. It was a quick and delightful read. The book is very well written and the characters are well defined and believable. This book has it all romance, passion and humor. I’m excited to see what she has in store for us next!
Tucker is a hero right from the very first chapter, he is a retired Army Ranger who is heading home to find his new course in life when he sees Gillian walking down a deserted road. Gillian owns Bliss Bridal with her mom and is engaged to be married. When her fiance breaks off her engagement, she is reeling because all her plans for the future are gone. Tucker teaches her and her friends wilderness survival and is there to step in every time she has a meltdown. The story that follows is filled with adventures, a secret marriage and a lot of emotional twists and turn moments. The characters are engaging, real, relatable and the story is endearing, entertaining, fun. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and didn’t want to put in down until I finished reading.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
While a bit slow and drawn out in the beginning, I enjoyed this story once the courtship of Gillian and Tucker began. I liked all the characters (although I did get a little overwhelmed with all the names) as they seemed real and not over the top – even Tucker was quite humble despite being very wealthy. No billionaire romance here. In fact, to me, this read like a Hallmark movie. Entertaining, heartwarming with no erotica since all sexy scenes “faded to black”. This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.
I received a free copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.
This is the second book in the McBrides of Texas series, but can be read as a stand-alone. Tucker McBride has just left his military career and is going back to his family home in Redemption Texas. On his drive home, he sees a woman walking in the middle of nowhere. Gillian Thacker has just had a fight with her fiancé where she threw her engagement ring at him, she leaves and wreaks her car. Of course, Tucker saves her and is smitten. But Gillian gets back together with the fiancé, James the jerk, so she is off limits. Eventually James shows his true colors and calls off the engagement days before the wedding. Now Tucker implements his plan to win her heart. This is an overall enjoyable read. I really liked Tucker, he is smart, handsome and honorable. Gillian was a little harder to like, she was weepy and whiny and that kept this from being a five star read for me.
