This was the first book I have read from this author and it was a sweet romance that drew me in from beginning to end. I don’t think you need to read the other books in the series but after reading this one you will want too.
I loved Tucker, he as kind, caring, and seriously swoon-worthy. He’s a recently discharged Vet who is trying to find his new path. When he comes to Redemption to visit a cousin and ends up staying
Gillian owns the local Bridal shop and whilst shes engaged she is having some doubts about her relationship. I will be honest I took much longer to warm up to her for some reason, I’m not sure what it was but there was something about her that I struggled to connect with.
I did enjoy watching their relationship grow as the book went on. The side characters were also well written drew me in.
I am looking forward to reading more in the future from this Author
Tucker has been unclear about where he will land next after leaving the Army Rangers. Ah who’s he kidding, of course he’s going to end up with family. And it’s on his way to that family that he sees a beautiful woman on the side of the road wearing a dress and heels. Unfortunately, she’s engaged, even if she’s just had a huge fight with said fiancé. But she might not always be an engaged woman and Tucker is more than happy to wait for her…, especially when he sets up his new survival company next to her wedding salon.
I absolutely love Tucker. He’s just about the perfect bbf – kind and loving and beyond patient with Gillian, not to mention sexy! I didn’t love Gillian like I did Tucker, she was annoying and her inner thoughts and her wishy washy attitude were too much for me. Still, the story is sweet and Tucker is the perfect hero, so three stars seems more than fair.
Tucker McBride is at a crossroads in his life. No longer part of the military. Will he choose the road to Redemption or Ruin. He has chosen to go off grid and become one with the land. Gillian Thacker is all about weddings. She helps her mother run a well established wedding gown shop. Gillian is now wanting to open her own business as a wedding planner. By chance, Tucker and Gillian meet when her car breaks down. Eventually they become friends. Tucker wants more but knows that is not possible, she is engaged. Gillian sees Tucker as just a friend but her heart is thinking it wants more. I love when Celeste and Angela decide they need to meddle in their lives. Sigh worthy.

Tucker: Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas book 17 by Emily March. This is my first book in this series and I will definitely be reading more of Eternity Springs and these McBride men!
Gillian Thacker needs to find a way to survive after her life implodes…her fiancé, her wedding, her events planning business. Tucker McBride needs to find his niche after retiring from the Army Rangers so he opens a wilderness survival training center for all.
When these two cross paths, sparks fly and so much more! He never thought to much about marriage but after spending time with Gillian he finds he wants it all…adventures, teaching her survival training, family, Love and forever!!
I love stories about strong men who are mature enough to know they want to find a good woman and build a life together. Tucker is one of those men. Gillian, on the other hand, is great at her business, but circumstances make her doubt her ability to discern her true feelings. Watching their attraction grow and then push apart and then grow again, is an emotional roller coaster ride. Fortunately, there are many great characters in Redemption, Texas, and the plot doesn’t falter as time passes. I loved that it was the man keeping the pursuit going, in a delightfully stealthy way. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying read.
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy provided by the publisher via Netgalley and I offer my honest opinion in response.
After years of Special Ops and leading soldiers through danger in Iraq and Afghanistan, Tucker McBride had skills, strategies, and self-confidence. Then the tall, muscled Texan – an outdoorsman and survivalist through and through – resigned Army service to make a new life back home. He was on his maiden “Texas exploration” trip before going back to his hometown, when he came across a stranded female driver. Jillian had been run off the road on a deserted West Texas Farm-to-Market-Road. This beautiful, tall damsel in distress was scratched up, had no drinking water, no cell phone, and was obviously an out of place girlie girl. And, Tucker was soon to find out, she was engaged. It didn’t take many weeks later for the two to discover that they also shared the same small town home. She owns a Bridal Shop and he starts an Outdoor Store and Survival School. What happened after that is the story of fairytales, slinky red clothes, and combat boots. If this intrigues you, don’t miss this book!
I had discovered The Eternity Springs series a couple of years ago. I fell in love with the romances. Then, I saw that there was a spin-off with the Texas cousins. Again, I fell in love with the first book. So, when I saw that Tucker was available for review, I jumped on it. I figured it had to be as good as Jackson and The Eternity Springs series. And let me tell you, I was right!!
Tucker is the 2nd book in The Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. But, and I will say this about all of the stand-alone books in series, read book 1!! There are recurring characters that crop up in Tucker who’s background stories will make you wonder what’s going on.
The pacing of the plotline for Tucker was perfect. It was slow and sweet. Usually, I am not a fan of those types of plotlines. I need a bit of speed to them. But, considering everything Gillian went through in the book, the slower pace was required. There was some lag in the plotline, right around when Gillian broke things off with her fiance. But the author was able to get the book back on track. There were no dropped storylines or characters.
I loved Tucker. I liked that he called out Gillian’s fiance for what he was, a pretentious d-bag. I loved that he was honest with himself about being very attracted to a woman in a relationship. I loved that he knew that he wanted to be with Gillian but was willing to wait until she healed before he pursued her. I also know that he was comfortable in his skin. He got out of the Army when he was being pressured to make friends with the suits in Washington. He used his Army expertise to start a survival school, which I loved. I just loved him and was #TeamTucker the entire book.
I liked Gillian, but man, she was a mess for 90% of the book. She was engaged to a guy who was a jerk. She changed everything she wanted for a wedding to accommodate him. I wanted to shake her and say, “Wake up, sweet cheeks!!” I liked that she was honest enough with herself to admit that she was attracted to Tucker. What I didn’t like was that she did lead him on at points in the book. I get that she was trying to find herself, but man, do it away from Tucker. Also, how could she have never hiked living near that canyon? And to hike by herself? WTH was she thinking!!
The romance between Gillian and Tucker was slow-burning. It was so slow at times that I wondered if I had imagined the heat between them. But, once Gillian and her fiance broke up, it came roaring back, and it was electric.
The sex scenes were pretty tame, considering the heat between Gillian and Tucker. They weren’t explicit, but you knew what was going on. I liked that. It didn’t take away from the romance.
I was furious with the plotline with Gillian and her fiance. I figured something happened, but I wasn’t expecting who it was. I loved how the author ended that plotline. Talk about satisfying!!
The plotline with Tucker and his business was fascinating. It was the first time that I have read a book where survival training was written about. I liked that he started small and morphed it into a thriving business.
The end of Tucker was what I expected. Some of the plotlines were wrapped up, and some weren’t. I did like that Tucker and Gillian got their HEA. I also cannot wait to read book 3!! From the foreshadowing in the book, it looks like it will be a good one!!
What a wonderful contemporary romance with relatable characters who jump out of the book and into your heart, and a wonderful story that stirred emotions, inspired me and had me totally involved in all that was happening from the beginning and I did not want the book to end when I got to the last page. I completely fell in love with Tucker McBride, former US Army Ranger, who establishes a Wilderness Skills Training School which is perfect for this patient, strong and kind gentleman. I enjoyed his instant attraction, undeniable chemistry and heartwarming romance with Gillian Thacker who owns Bliss Bridal Salon in Redemption, Texas. Ms. March blew me away with this second book in The McBrides of Texas series and I can hardly wait to see what happens next in this must-read series. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.
This such a good love story. You can’t but help from falling for Tucker. I was glad to see him go back home to Texas where his family lives after he got out of the military. When we don’t know what we want to do or where to go, it’s always nice to have a special place to go to recharge. I enjoyed seeing how Tucker met Gillian and their special moment together. Gillian is from the same town Tucker was going. I guess I can understand how obsessed she was with her wedding since her and her mother owned a dress shop. I did feel like times she took it to the extreme. I hated what her fiancé and some of her college friends did to her. Since Tucker is such a great guy, he did all he could to cheer Gillian up—even if it was to make her angry. Their friendship helped them each to grow, especially Gillian. I loved their story and strongly encourage you to read the book. I was given a copy of the book and voluntarily wrote a review.
Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas trilogy, TUCKER
This story starts out with Tucker and he’s back from the military and at odds with himself and what he wants to do with the rest of his life.
He has interventions from his cousins and they help him with a venture he’s dreamed about.
Problem is it interferes with what Gillian had planned for…she is about to marry Jeremy but things don’t go so well and they break up.
Jeremy just wanted her by his side to advance himself…love how the others come to her rescue with interventions, her mother, Tucker and her girls.
Like hearing how they combine forces with the camo and wilderness training. Love learning new things there!
So many things occur breaking them up, bringing them together that you wonder if things will ever go right for them. Love cave and treasures that surprise her.
Cool locations. First book I’ve read in this series but didn’t feel left out but would like to read the others as the author as a way of telling a great story..
Received this review copy from the publicist St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.
The premise of the story is good, but the story is drawn out with self doubt which might have been with good reason if it wasn’t for what leads up to it.
I like this series and was a little disappointed in the character development of this particular book. Tucker plays a good role. He is kind and respectful. His intentions are admirable and he has the patient of a Saint.
Gillian has been betrayed, and this has knocked back her confidence. She doesn’t seem to take Tucker’s feelings into account, until towards a somewhat rushed conclusion. I am still debating about her being in love or going through the motions of realising her dream at all costs.
I love Tucker, but not impressed with Gillian. Not the best book in the series.
I was kindly issued with an eARC and the views expressed are my personal opinion.
With wonderful characters that will have you wanting to take trip to Redemption, Emily March has once again delivered a well-written story that will you leave you smiling and wanting more of the magic that she has created with Eternity Springs.
It was easy to fall in love with Tucker right away. He’s a bit lost, looking for his future now that he has left the service. He’s honorable and solid, sexy and romantic…basically everything you would want from a man. Although I had a soft spot for Gillian, especially as her story unfolded, it took a bit longer for me to come around. She so wants her happy-ever-after that she’s lost sight of what’s truly important – the person she is going to share that happy ever after with. Eventually she finds her way, but it was tough at times watching her second-guess and doubt herself over and over.
Emily March has created a world that truly defines what family is and I love how she brings her characters from the Eternity Springs series together to add an additional dimension to the story she is telling. The Blessing cousins, Angelica and Celeste, are always a hoot and add a magic to every story that never fails to leave me with a life lesson of my own. The support and warmth, as well as the tough love that always seems to be needed at times with some of these stubborn characters, is always written with such impact to each story.
Ms. March has created a magical world in her Eternity Springs series and I know that every new story will be crafted with relatable characters and wonderful dialogue that will leave me with a renewed belief in love and happy-ever-afters. If you haven’t picked up a book by Emily March, then you are missing your chance at the same.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book I received from the Publisher via NetGalley.
Tucker by Emily March was a sweet romance based in Ms. March’s The McBrides of Texas series. I haven’t read the previous books in the series but this one does stand alone without any problems.
Tucker McBride was absolutely one of the best male leads that I’ve read in a long time. He was patient, kind, loving, honest and strong in his beliefs about himself and life. Gillian was a mess from the beginning. I confess that she got on my nerves several times throughout the story. With a strong plot that includes family, learning to trust yourself again, friendships and love it was an engaging read.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.
Book 2 in author Emily March’s “The McBrides of Texas Series”–returns readers to the quaint little town of Redemption, Texas.Tucker McBride and Gillian Thacker first meet when he offers her assistance as she straggles along a road after a car accident preceded by a big fight with her fiance, Jeremy. It turns out that they have mutual acquaintances, are basically headed in the same direction, and have an immediate awareness-attraction between them. Tucker helps here to get to where her fiance is waiting to pick her up, and then heads to Enchanted Canyon, a property he inherited along with his cousins, Boone and Jackson. A former Army Ranger who has left his military career behind, Tucker greatly enjoys the outdoor life. Gillian and her mother own a successful bridal shop in Redemption, and Gillian also plans to open an event planning business with Jeremy. Imagine her surprise a few months after her roadside rescue by her motorcycle-riding knight, Tucker, when he opens up a survival school in the very building she planned to buy for her second business. Neither Gillian or Tucker have forgotten that sparky feeling between at their first meeting, and with her niggling doubts about Jeremy, it’s definitely not a good idea for Tucker to be so close on a daily basis. When Gillian’s relationship with Jeremy ends for good, things really start to sizzle in her growing connection to Tucker. Now that he is free to fully pursue Gillian, Tucker is prepared to pull out all the stops to show her that she is the woman he wants in his life–can he convince her that he is the real man of her dreams?

Another great Emily March read !
Thank you to Netgalley , the publisher and the author for my advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review.
To summarize, Tucker McBride has recently left the military and has returned to Redemption, Texas to start a new life. When Tucker finds a lady named Gillian stranded on a backroad in Texas, he learns that she was involved in an auto accident and assists her. From their first meeting, Tucker is smitten. Later, he opens his wilderness survival business, unaware that it is in close proximity to Gillian’s bridal business. The story follows these characters and their journey through friendship, heartbreak and ultimately, love.
This novel is well-written and the characters are well-defined. I have always enjoyed reading a book by Emily March and this one did not disappoint. The author used humor and real life situations to enhance one’s reading experience and to keep the reader engaged. The author pulled me into the world her characters occupy and I became a proverbial fly on the wall as Tucker and Gillian met the challenges that arose on the way to their HEA ending.
This is an extraordinary novel worthy of 5 stars!
Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas: Tucker by Emily March is the 17th Eternity Springs book as well as the 2nd book in the new Redemption series. After reading all these books I am now sure it will be the same for me if author March writes one hundred books.
Every single time I fall so easily right back into the story that it is like I’m back home. Back home to a place that has slipped my memory a little, but then the feelings flood back. A few chapters in and I want them all to be my family. In fact I feel like they are my family. I think I know where the story is headed but the joy is in getting there.
Emily March has a gift for writing characters you can’t help but love. They are just so good, so honorable. Even when they fear they aren’t. Only honorable people worry about being honorable. The description is of Gillian but could describe anyone and everyone in Eternity Springs and Redemption: kind, generous, loyal, loving, faithful to promises, persistent in goals, confident and proud, often practical but also a bit daring and adventurous. You can’t help feeling good as you read.
Gillian is full of contradictions, and very vulnerable. She knows breaking her engagement was the right thing but it still hurts, and it has badly shaken her confidence in herself. Tucker thought he would be a military man forever, until he discovered he just could not. He is tough on the outside, soft on the inside. Such love just waiting to pour out for the right woman. I was overcome with sweetness and had tears in my eyes when Tucker was picking the wedding gown for the window display.
But don’t think an Eternity Springs/Redemption story is just sweetness and fluff. In the midst of these wonderful characters are some not-so-wonderful characters and deceit and danger. Although it seems obvious where the plot is going it will surprise you with twists and turns and totally unexpected events, as well as laughter and heat and lots of love.
Thanks to St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley for providing an advance copy for my honest review. All opinions are my own. I thorough enjoyed Tucker and highly recommend it. I’m eagerly waiting for the next and the next and the next visits to Eternity Springs and Redemption.
Emily March is a new to me author. I picked up this book on a whim because I do like to step outside of my box from time to time. This is a book that is well into a series, and I didn’t realize it at the time. Now, I’m all about a good series. But dropping in at this point in the series was a bit of a struggle while reading this book so I do recommend starting from the beginning. With that said, it was fairly easy to follow along with the backstory and figure out who all the characters were to each other, but I’m of the mind that reading a series in order always gives you the best experience. But that’s not the author’s responsibility so it doesn’t have anything to do with what I thought about the book. I just wanted to throw that out there for anyone that might be considering jumping in at this point in the series like I did.
NICUnurse’s Rating: The book was well written with an easy to follow plot that wasn’t too terribly predictable. I spent several enjoyable hours immersed in the story and the characters’ lives and was left with a pleasant feeling at the end. While it might not have been the most emotional or moving book I’ve read this month, it was most definitely enjoyable and nowhere near a waste of time. I’ll be reading more of this author in the future, for sure!
I give Eternity Springs: The McBrides of Texas: Tucker 4 out of 5 stars!
OHMIGOSH! I freaking love Tucker! He was just so swoony and he was so into Gillian that I had to see what would happen. I just wanted him to find his HEA.
Gillian made me crazy at times, but I really enjoyed watching her and Tucker fall in love!
This was my first book by Emily but it won’t be my last! I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the Eternity Springs series!!
Tucker by Emily March continues the story of the three McBride cousins. In the first book Jackson McBride found his HEA with Caroline Carruthers. Here Tucker McBride returns to Redemption, Texas an ex-Army Ranger with no idea of what he is going to do with his life now. He spends time in Eternity Springs healing. He first meets Gillian Thacker while driving home after leaving the army. Gillian, who owns Bliss Bridal Shop along with her mother, had a fight with her fiance and is walking back to Redemption. Tucker gives her a ride home on his motorcycle. Gillian’s engagement is troubled and she has some serious decisions to make.
I really liked Tucker. Aside from his attractive appearance he is a genuinely good person. I admired his patience with Gillian and didn’t blame him the times he lost patience with her. Gillian is a conflicted character. I’m glad she got her act together and found true love.
