Now, this is my kind of story. Kick-butt female lead, supporting characters that are actually good, and heart pounding, action from the beginning!
Anomaly was written by two authors, and I couldn’t tell. It was clear they were able to work well with each other, because this story was seamless and I enjoyed it immensely. The writing is fantastic. The action scenes make you feel like you’re watching a movie, and the dialogue is impressively realistic.
I loved the concept of the Mallies (Anomalies). They are humans with sweet super powers, and each one is unique. I never felt like I was seeing the same power over and over. I can’t wait to find out what other powers are in the world. I liked the constant tension between the Mallies and the Naries (ordinary people). It was clear there were battle lines drawn from the beginning and it was exciting to see the plot progress.
Thia is a great lead. She is strong in her own right, and is all about protecting her people. I absolutely loved her best friend, Gigi. She’s so quirky, and made me wish she was my best friend!
This is a fantastic start to a series that made me crave more from the series.
*I recieved this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.*
TS901: Anomaly was an amazing start to a series and the beginning a beautiful, if very flawed and post-apocalyptic, world. When a chemical intended to help humanity was introduced into the water, it had some surprising results. Individuals with certain DNA were mutated and forced into the Hive – picture detainment camp.
Thia makes it her mission to escape the Hive and expose the truth behind the TS901 chemical and how the government has been using the people mutated by it. There are a lot of twists and turns as the escape progresses and Thia and crew attempt to infiltrate a government facility to free the people held there.
Thia was an intriguing character that really draws the spotlight in the story. Even though surrounded by strong males and females she managed to shine, but somehow without taking away from the other characters. I can’t wait to get started on the rest of the series.

This is one collaboration that I can absolutely gush about! I already enjoy Stacey Rourke’s books, and I have only read a short story by Tish Thawer that’s in Fairy Tale Confessions. So, when they announced that they’re writing a book together… Oh hell yeah! Well, I have got to say… Wow! This is one action-filled science fiction story that has its twists that kept me turning the pages.
Let’s start off with the characters. These authors created amazing and dimensional character. Each character had their own quirks and personalities that made them stand out as individuals, as well as their mutations, or as it is called in the book anomalies. As stated in the book, there are some anomalies that are obvious, but there are those that are not. And, that’s just it when it came to Thia’s mutation… That was revealed at that moment when it was a major turning point in the story and to Thia herself. Stacey and Tish really threw me for a loop on that one…haha! From beginning to almost the end, I kept wondering what in the world is Thia’s mutation…OMG! What a secret to keep…Whoa! I really enjoyed that… And what a reveal that was! Yup! Stacey and Tish created these amazingly crazy characters with individual and peculiar personalities!
Now, with the incredibly amazing character development, the world building/setting comes hand in hand with these characters. We see this future world through the eyes of these anomalies. We “see” their struggle. We “see” how society treats them. We “see” a world that is pretty similar to reality… just with characters that have special “abilities” that society doesn’t understand and fear. We see the strengths and weaknesses of both those afflicted with mutations and those that are not. And, it is a scary world they live in.
The blending of the science fiction, paranormal, fantasy, romance genres worked amazingly well in this story. I also loved that no genres overshadowed the other throughout. I got the excitement from the action, mystery, and the twists. I got the emotional ride from the subtle romance and the dire straits that these characters have to endure.
TS901: Anomaly is an exciting read that is action-packed with twists along the way. Stacey Rourke and Tish Thawer has gotten me obsessing for the next book…haha!!

I get so excited every time Stacey Rourke has a new book that comes out. I was excited to see that she teamed up with Tish Thawer. They both are amazing authors who both bring a lot of talent to this book. They work amazing as a team. Their writing styles flow together very well.
TS901 is a story about the government tainting the water with the TS901 chemical (fluoride and vitamins) it was supposed to sustain the health of the human race. However when the government released the chemical into the water supply it caused a genetic mutation in some and nothing in others. The main character, Thia Kelly, is now in hiding along with the rest of the inflicted outcasts also known as the maly’s. She is looked up to because she works well with the non inflicted humans and the inflicted, she tries keeping the peace between the two worlds.
I recommend this book to all. Its fast paced action packed and of course witty humor is thrown in, which makes for a great read.
Add TS901: Anomaly to your TBR list STAT!!! It’s fantastic! You won’t be disappointed, in fact, you’ll be left wanting more. The characters, the prose, the world building, will all have you hooked from the moment you start reading. I cannot wait for the rest of this series! Bravo to Stacey Rourke and Tish Thawer for this great story! TS901: Anomaly
